The service can be quite abrupt, and the narrow tables to the side of the long kitchen can be unusual, but the food here is hot, cheap, and swift. Sitting down for a $6 lunch special that includes soup, it has the feel of a hole-in-the-wall. The most underrated Chinese restaurant around. Delicious chicken noodle soup and scallion pancakes. Great standard dishes, and a few standouts: Beef chow fon, duck meat rolls, and spicy crispy beef are stellar. Reasonable prices, good service and fresh food. What more do you need? read more

This review is for the seafood soup. I've never had their food. Popped in yesterday as I was craving some Chinese seafood noodle soup. What I receIved was cornstarch soup. Globs of cornstarch with seafood pieces floating in it. No noodles. They did have plenty of shrimp and mushrooms and some scallions, but I had to remove them from the glob of cornstarch they were in. Looked like a bowl of snot. I was gagging. Never again will I order soup from there. I guess I'll have to travel 20 minutes to Parsippany to get my favorite delicious bowl of soup from Noodle Wong. read more

Decent to go Chinese food place. Prices are fair for the amount of food you get on take out. I'll try dining in next time. I order the chicken and garlic sauce which was amazing with a wonton soup. Wontons were a bit smaller than expected, I recurved 5 instead of 3 like other places. read more

Been going here for years. At least 15 years or more. If not the same owners, at least the same people at the counter. My son actually worked for them delivering for a while. Lately I noticed that they are hoarding their duck sauce packets. I'm there about once a week over many years. The other night my order for my husband was a large order of spare ribs and a small egg drop soup. $21. I'm ok with the cost given increased prices. But the girl looked me in the eye and gave me one packet of duck sauce. Had to ask for more and was reluctantly give a couple more. After all these years that is the last time I'm going there. I had ordered shrimp & scallops to go from your lunch Menu. Upon getting home, I was very much frustrated that there were only 2 pcs shrimps & 2 small slices of scallops. Too many broccoli, mushrooms & rice! Perhaps you better rename this dish as sautéed vegetables with little shrimp & bit of scallop! So frustrating! read more

HORRIBLE DELIVERY SERVICE!! It took more than an hour and a half and three phone calls to get our food. When we would call to check on the food, they claimed it would be there in 10 mins. 20 mins later we'd call, and were told the same thing. When we demanded a refund (we ordered online), they claimed the best they could do is give us free fried rice and an egg roll with our next order!!! Never ordering from them again. read more

This place is by far horrible in customer service. Ordered dinner at 530 pm and was told 45 minutes. We have been using them for years the las t2 times it was bad. It is now 8pm and there has been NO delivery. They have taken the phone off the hook so unless the place burned down to the ground there is NO EXCUSE. But the did take my credit card !! read more

Back when I was freshman I would come here for lunch and get the same rude waitress each time. But lunch was cheap and satisfying so I kept coming back. Then I stopped going there for lunch because I eventually started driving and had no need for Hunan Wok and its rude waitress. But sometimes all I really want is some Hot and Sour Soup. And I am very particular about my Hot and Sour soup. So I call up Hunan Wok and ask to pick it up. Just the soup, nothing else thank you. And without fail, I always get a dirty look. But look, Hunan Wok and its employees: I don't need your Sesame Chicken because I've seen what the chicken looks like before you're ready for it (okay so I peeked one time). Just hand me the soup, wipe that goddamn scowl off your face, and take my money. I've had the food here. And it's nothing exceptional. Just your standard, run of the mill, greasy Chinese. But they know how to make soup the way I like it. Tangy, spicy, and I never want to know what's in it. read more

Hunan Wok is a great value for money when it comes to take out. $6 for a soup and a generous main course for lunch - I doubt anyone can beat that in the Florham Park area. Singapore Rice Noodle Mei Fun is my all time favorite dish. Spicy, not too fattening and with lots of flavor. Get it with a hot&sour soup and you have a lovely lunch with potential leftovers for dinner. Why not 5 stars? Two reasons: - Some of their traditional Chinese items are too heavy and don't taste as good. - If you dine in, the waitress sometimes forgets that you exist. It happens when they are overcrowded. I have been to this restaurant numerous time since I started going to school nearby here. My friends and I usually order same thing every time,and it's really nice that they remember what you get. Even when I order online they know it's me and know how to prepare the food. Quick service and people working there are very nice too. This place has the best lo mein. read more

There is another establishment over in Morristown with the same name that went to sh*t, so I have been shopping for a new Chinese place for my weekly fix. That said, I almost visited that other place, the Chalet, for authentic, but my wallet said, "Another time." Ordered my usual Americanized fare of dumplings and chicken & broccoli (sue me, I dig broccoli), and noticed Mongolian Beef on the Menu, and so I took a chance. All-in-all, the previous Yelpers were spot-on with their assessments. Servicable food at a competitive price would be a good way to sum it all up. Ready in 15 minutes, I picked it up, and it was hot and cooked when I called it in. My only dig would be they did not place any utensils or sauce packets in the bag. No biggie. Morristown? Feh. Florham Park is my new haunt for pizza, Chinese. and burgers. read more

If you are looking for fine dining and superb service then skip right past this place. If you're into 'hole in the wall' type spots then this is for you. I frequent about once a week. The food was ok but check out bill before you eat in . They overcharge , even it's $5.00 why I have to give them for nothing. We ordered 3 dishes and 1 soda for total $17.70 . The women charged us $25 . When we finished I asked her recalculate and then she told me she put in my plate double size of food . I said I never asked for double and it wasn't much food on my plate. Then probably her son told me that she supposed to give me eat in menu and it's different charge . But she never give me other menu and it's my decision to eat my order inside or take it out . Then her son told me that I have to live and never come back . Of course I will never come again! I always live the tips to the wateriest but I hade when somebody overcharged me . read more
