The people there were rude and got brown soggy lettuce in my sandwhich. I called and they said there's not anything on their lettece and to bring it back to prove it. All they did was remake it no refund no apology. She said she didn't even know what it was. I also got their cheddar fries and they were soggy. I went to Hungry Hobo for Taco Tuesday and ordered the Taco Tato with extra chili. It was terrible . I even asked if they put extra chili on it. I think there was 3 tablespoons of chili on it. I remember when I used to get it and you got a large container with chili poured over the potato. Also potao was very small. The staff treated me like I was an imposition to them. I ordered a taco tato on the way home and should have listened to the reviews on this place. I got home and found no chili on it at all, the lettuce tomotaoes onions and cheese were on the side of the potato but they threw the sour cream on top and placed the chips so you couldn't see any of it. Also had a few pieces of completely brown rotted lettuce mixed in. Complete waste of money on this garbage location, go anywhere else other than here. read more

Love Hungry Hobo, and this location is no exception. They make a great sandwich. We visited here on New Year's Eve and all of the employees were in great spirits, despite of the fact that they were working on a holiday. I recently came at lunch and a guy at a neighboring table was feasting on an amazing looking taco salad. Would be interested in trying that on a subsequent trip. Their potato game is on point. Waffle fried or baked, they're tasty. Never skip the chocolate pudding. read more

We went on Saturday for lunch. It was extremely disorganized and slow. After ordering, I was asked two more times what my order was before only getting half of it after waiting for over 15 minutes. We did not get greeted when we walked in we asked how much chili there was and before even asked how much we wanted the guy behind the counter said enough then when I ordered 6 I was told there was not enough for that many. So I changed my order and got a couple sandwiches instead. Then the guy behind us asked if there was still chili and was told yes. I also got shorted some food glad I double checked the bag and the guy at the counter could not seem any less excited about having to work. Visited this location on a Thursday night (July 23rd) about 5 minutes before closing with my family of 5. The girls working here that evening were more than nice. Typically, when you walk into a place that close to 9 pm when they are shutting down, you get a lot of dirty looks and poor service. Not here, they told us to please stay and don't hurry. Super nice staff here. And of course, the food was excellent. This location is very clean and there is a Whitey's Ice Cream next door. I went to college in Rock Island and have since moved away. I still manage to make it back once or twice a year, and I never drive through town without stopping at Hungry Hobo. I love sandwiches, and I love Hungry Hobo best of all sandwich shops. From the deliscious bread, to the fresh meats and veggies to a side of loaded baked potato ... its all so so good. I keep having issues with this place. I like the food ok, but things just keep going wrong. Sandwiches are not made as they are supposed to be, or I am charged for items (like cheese....but the sandwich comes with cheese?) If I order two sandwiches, one of them hot, it is just too much for the employees to get right. Would not be so troublesome, except this stuff happens each and every time I go there. On my last visit I was told they could not take my coupon (still valid) because they had raised their prices and the coupon was too low a price. What? Shouldn't you honor the coupon until it expires (the end of the month)? I always check my food to make sure it is made correctly as ordered (never is) and then when I tell the employees about it, all I get is...."sorry". Excuse me, but you need to make it right. And raising the prices doesn't make me any happier FYI. Need to look for a new place to eat sandwiches. read more

I only had 30 mins to leave work, drive to Hobo and get back to my desk. They were so quick, from the time it took to place my order, ring me out and hand me my food, I was at my desk with 5 minutes to spare. And this included the drive time! Plus my food was great! Good job Hungry Hobo! read more

Tried to order a 6 foot supreme sub for today ordered it tuesday. Went in at 1230 they said it would be done at noon. They completley forgot my order. How do u forget a 93 dollar order. So they said it would be done in 15 to 20 min. I said i would be back to drop my baby and wife off. At home which is 5 min away. I come back 20 min later. And ask if we received a discount for the delay. The lady said it was done in ten min. I asked if i could get a discount she said no. Lucky i had peole waiting or i would of left the order. I normally go to the East Moline location but this time I was staying with my sister in Rock Island and this one was around the corner. Very clean inside. Order taker and cashier was quick and efficient with a pleasant smile. I ordered the K#6: EOP-T with cheddar fries as I always do. Great tasting sandwich and fries cooked perfect. I've been in this location many times and there is always a problem with my order or the employees are just rude to everyone. Today it was Emily and that was the last straw for me. She was uninterested in customer service and my order was wrong again! My sandwich didn't have lettuce or tomato on it and there was so much mustard that it soaked the paper. When I called restaurant, Emily and another lady were rude on the phone and having a side conversation while I was on the line. I will only go to the moline location from now on.
