I ordered pizza from Hungry Howie's and never received it. They said they were unusually busy. Yeah right. Don't order from them!

We heard about the Flying Boat Tap Room from a neighbor who recommended it for their pizzas. Not…read morereally conveniently located from us, we decided to head out here after stopping by a nursery in the same general area. It was a late lunch so the place wasn't all that busy...perhaps a total of 5 diners including us. We sat down and waited a minute or so before a server came by with menus and to take our drink orders. My wife asked her if they served Coke Zero. They don't, so my wife just ordered water with a lemon wedge and I ordered the same. The menu is quite varied, especially for "bar food" with various pizza options. After carefully reading the menu, my wife ordered the White Pi (roasted garlic ricotta, mozzarella, feta, and rosemary/garlic butter drizzle) and I ordered Ol Betsy (house carne asada, avocado, crispy onions, white rice drizzled with chimichurri sauce). My wife's pizza was served before my dish and I had to wait a minute or two before mine was served. I think well managed kitchens should be able to get dishes out at the same time. My wife liked her pizza. She liked the wood-fired char around the edges and the appropriate chew of the crust. She also liked the garlicky flavor and the fresh feta. My dish was quite good! The carne asada was so tender and the crispy onions with the slightly vinegary chimichurri sauce was an inspired combo...adding the creamy avocado further elevated the dish. Lunch for two came out to just under $38 with tip. We'll be back!

I think they had 25 taps and the waitress was happy to bring us samples of a bunch before we made up our mind. We both ended up with a stout. We had a queso/sloppy Joe mixed dip as an app. While very tasty, it wasn't very hot (temp), which was a problem with much of the food. We had a pizza and fish tacos for mains. We also shared a cheesecake (or was it key lime) for desert. All were good, except for temp. The best part is with tax and tip dinner was only around $70.

I called to order a large pizza and an order of 12 garlic knots. Before placing the order, I specifically asked the employee if they had garlic knots, and she told me they did. We were charged $8 for the garlic knots plus another $1.25 for what was supposed to be a "large" marinara. What we received was a tiny cup that wasn't even close to enough for a 12-piece order. When we got home, we realized we hadn't been given garlic knots at all. Instead, we received what were essentially plain dinner rolls with garlic butter poured over the top. They were completely saturated with butter, soggy, and honestly tasted terrible. We ended up throwing almost the entire order away because they weren't edible. I called back because I assumed someone had accidentally packed the wrong item. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, the first employee repeatedly insisted that what I received was garlic knots. I explained that garlic knots are made from pizza dough that is tied into knots before baking--not dinner rolls covered in garlic butter. She continued insisting they were the same thing. They absolutely are not. The pizza itself was equally disappointing. The sauce was bland and tasted like a generic restaurant-supply product, not a homemade family recipe. The marinara tasted exactly the same, so paying extra for it was a waste as well. What disappointed me the most wasn't even the food--it was the customer service. Mistakes happen at every restaurant, and I completely understand that. But when a customer calls politely to point out that they received the wrong item, the response shouldn't be to argue with them and try to convince them they're wrong. A simple apology and an offer to make it right would have completely changed this review. Sadly, between the poor quality of the food, the misleading "garlic knots," the overpriced tiny marinara, and the rude customer service, this was not a good first impression. There are too many great local pizza places that value their customers for me to give this one another chance.
