Well ... I really liked the decor, the frozen "whiskey business" and the bartender and hostess were very nice. At the same time, after we were seated it took 30 minutes for us to find a waiter. Then the food took something like an hour and a half to come out. We still had fun. Good company and drinks but a friend who showed up late got his food in less than ten. Our waiter reminded me of someone who had just recently come out of a coma and was just learning how to interact with other humans again. It was a trip. We weren't given a menu and there wasn't a QR code to read anywhere, so we just figured we had to search for the menu online to figure out what to order. This place has so much potential but needs better staff! When you step inside, it's so cute! It literally feels like a Time Machine, but the vibe is vastly overshadowed by the awful staff. I made a reservation before going because I was advised that it's a small place with high traffic on weekends. We got there a few minutes before our reservation time and we were told that there will be a wait because they're waiting for a table to finish up and become available, but because we made a reservation we would be the first seated. This turned into a 40 min wait and in that time, we saw MULTIPLE people leave the restaurant, and other parties be seated! Around the 30 min mark when I asked the hostess how much longer of a wait their would be, she rolled her eyes and said "Yeah I really don't know".... we ended up leaving and going to a restaurant down the street. I ordered the 2 eggs breakfast and everything was deliciously salty (I love salt :D) so I didn't have to add anything at all. The hash browns were seriously THE best hash browns I've ever had. Service was friendly and prompt, check-ins from the server were just frequent enough. The vibes of course were ridiculously 80s, as it should be. Plenty of spots to take pictures for social media show offs. Their menu mentioned karaoke on Friday nights which sounds great, unfortunately I couldn't make it then. The wait here is so terrible we left to eat at another restaurant. We waited outside for an hour when told it was only going to be 30 mins. There's no waiting area so you had to stand outside to be in "plain site" to be called for. Once inside we waited 40 mins for our food and got so tired we decided to just pay for our drinks and leave. The waitress herself said the "kitchen was untrained and was just put to work". Went back and tried them for breakfast & was not disappointed. Breakfast was good, they have the good hash browns, if you've ever had the hash browns at Snooze, they're similar to that, but without the long line wait you have at Snooze. At least when we went. We've been a few times now, and service has always been good, no complaints there. One thing to be aware of, they do close at 6:00 on Sundays. I would like to see some more veggie/low carb side dishes besides potatoes on their entrees. So that's about my only complaint. read more

Who doesn't love the '80s?!? I've been here twice now. First time was bday celebration for my GF. She is a huge huge huge Duran Duran fan but somehow she never heard of this place. And of course as we walk in the restaurant there is a big Duran Duran poster above the bar. WOW! She loved it. The service was great. Good food but even more creative were the names of the food items, i.e. Madonna With Meatballs (Caddyshack) and the Culture Club sandwich (enough said). Anyway, it was karoake night which was fun to listen to (sorta haha). And each table had a stack of '80s trivia cards. How cool!... Love the Phoebe Cates montage above our table! Today's visit was very outstanding customer service. I had a small issue with a bill. So the bartender listened carefully and took care of my request - no ?S asked. She was attentive, understanding, friendly, conversational, and hospitable. The rest of the staff appreciated my visit as well. The Waffle Sliders were good and filling. Of course the scenery provided many conversation pieces. The front door chime was hilarious (right Ferris)! Even the restrooms were clean with awesome throw back hottie posters from the '80s. The service was HORRIBLE. We got there at 8:04 and didn't even get greeted until 8:27, by the guy who brought us waters. We didn't see our waitress for another 10+ mins. Throughout our meal she would randomly ask if we were ready for our check??? Even though we just got our food and had another join the table.. we were like no.... He just joined us.. and she was like oh! Ok I'll be back. Then would disappear again for a bit. (We think she was probably drunk based on the way she was acting). The food was fine but over priced for what it was. They also were sneaky about throwing a gratuity in there so be aware of that. read more

Let me start off by saying it was quite difficult for me to decide what rating to give this restaurant. When Hungry Like the Wolf opened up I was glad that there was another later night option added to the area. We went not too long after they first opened; the food was good and drinks were alright. Would have been 4 stars based on that. However the second time we went (more than 1 hr before listed closing time) we were told they decided to close early due to it being slow. We decided to give them another chace several months later and again showed up about an hour and a half before closing (I did try to call beforehand this time with no answer) and was told the same thing. It's really disappointing to drive over only to find the place closed. Won't be chancing it again. To the owners, if you consistently don't have enough patrons to justify staying open that late maybe change your hours? read more

I had such high hopes for this place. The food was ok. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles he said it was good but came to the table cold. My nephew had a traditional breakfast plate, but you can't really need that up. His girlfriend had the Optimus prime burger and there was really nothing great about it. Just a burger. Now if I'm going to be waiting forever for a table the food should be great. I put my name on the list at about 12:30 and we ended up getting a table like an hour later. Now i get it, that's what you get on a Sunday afternoon, but i was put on the waitlist then kept getting bumped for people who made reservations. It was told to my husband that reservations trump waitlist even though there reservations was clearly long after i put my name on the list. Now i get reservations, but the website says "they are not taking reversions". We probably would've still been waiting had my husband had not made a reservation while we were waiting for 1:30. I just really believe the service could have been much better. The hostess clearly did not know what she was doing. Maybe we'll try again in a few months, but if I'm going off off right now, it's gonna be a no for us. read more

This place has tons of potential and I would love to see it do well during these crazy times. I ordered the fried chicken wrap and my husband ordered the meatball sub. The food was wonderful. Our waiter was very nice and filled up water and tea glasses without even being asked. The music was lots of 80s throwbacks and the decor is awesome. Tons of seating outside and inside. The wait time was extremely long for our food. It wasn't the waiters fault but it seems the kitchen doesn't quite have it together as far as efficiency. I love the aesthetic it was filled with 80's themed decor and the music was great. However my friends and I who are young adults 18-22 we were there and right off the black a waitress commented on our age in a rude way. She had an attitude the whole night with just us because she was laughing with other tables. She was definitely bothered by our age because she mentioned it multiple times when my friend who is 22 tried to order a drink. She ruined the whole vibe after that. Don't go here if you are a teenager, it's a shame because it would've been a hotspot for teens in Houston I just know it, but I'm telling all my friends not to go here. read more

I almost died eating the driest freaking waffle, I kid you not I choked on the waffle in the parking lot, and the wait was unexceptional, a hour and 10 minutes for that crusty food, the bacon was also very hard and not braces friendly. We tried this out on the weekend. They were really busy but we were sat down in less than 15 minutes. The burger was simple but the meat was really good. My favorite were the green beans haha. We got some drinks which where ok, a lot of them are based with orange juice. Our server was dressed with a80 style which was cute, however she barely checked on us, it was busy but could've been a bit better, at least to check if we wanted anything else. She just came to place the order, bring us food and bring us the check. We were thinking of getting some ice cream from here but our server didn't give us a chance. I understand it was busy. Big groups were coming in and you have a lot of people from the apartments around coming in. I think they need a bigger location. The environment is pretty as cool, music is great.
