I've been in Houston for a nice amount of time and finally found my way to the breakfast Klub Sunday morning 7/26 Opens 8am small line but I've passed when place was wrapped around the building. Counter service menu QR code accessible. I ordered the Katfish n grits with over easy eggs to me the catfish was too salty for my palate because of that I would not order again . The Music playlist was just right food comes out extremely fast after ordering .... Limited seated but ppl Tend to get up once they're done eating . I would definitely go again I would just try something different and "likely not fried for me
Joined the Breakfast Klub for brunch today. The spot was packed and busy but the staff did an amazing job explaining how dining service worked. It's catering style, fast-casual dining. You can pick up to go or order and eat in. I sat in at a community table. Folks were friendly but probably as hungry as me. I did not finish all my food because the portion was just too large for me. (It's hot in Houston, a large meal just spells nap.) I enjoyed most of it. Wasn't what I expected but I would recommend to folks visiting and want to try some southern comfort cuisine!
One of the better spots I tried in Houston but a tad bit underwhelming. The service and great and the staff were friendly but the food was very basic. No different than anything you'd find at a normal dinner. The vibes and ambiance were great just the food didn't do anything special.
The food was really good. Catfish was cooked to perfection!!!!! The grits 7/10 with cheese . Loved it . The biscuit omg so good and my eggs were perfect. Service was amazing but the wait was 30 mins and it was super hot outside . They need to install fans out side for the customers . Ambiance is family oriented .
Comfort food at its best. If you're craving a Southern-style breakfast or brunch, this spot absolutely delivers. It was easily one of the best brunch experiences we've had in a long time. Yes, there's usually a line--but don't let that scare you. It moves quickly, so take that time to look over the menu and be ready to order when you get in. The food comes out fast, hot, and incredibly fresh. Parking can be a bit tricky, but it's worth the effort. As a coffee lover, I had to try the White Mocha--a sweet blend with white chocolate topped with whipped cream--and it did not disappoint. It was fantastic. My group went with mimosas and margaritas, which come pre-made in sealed 8oz bottles--such a smart and convenient touch. We ordered a variety of dishes, and everything was outstanding: * French Toast: Texas toast triangles, lightly grilled and dusted with powdered sugar, served with two eggs over easy and bacon. * Wings & Waffle: A Belgian waffle paired with six seasoned wings, topped with powdered sugar and a fresh strawberry. * Pork Chops & Eggs: Two fried pork chops with eggs, served alongside potatoes or grits and a biscuit. * Catfish Plate: Seasoned catfish with grits, plus potatoes, scrambled eggs, and a biscuit. * Breakfast Special: Scrambled eggs, grits, a biscuit, and a side of sausage gravy. We shared bites of everything, and every dish was cooked perfectly--my mouth is still watering thinking about it. To top it off, we were personally greeted by one of the managers, Norman, who was incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome. This place is a must-visit if you're looking for an amazing brunch. Highly recommend!
There will be a waiting time no matter what time you go! But once you get passed that it's smooth sailing afterwards. Once you get inside and order you choose where you would like to sit. By the time you sit down and any utensils and condiments there's a good chance that your food will arrive soon after if not when you sit down. I got the wings and grits with a side of pancake. The grits could've used more flavor and the eggs needed some salt but the wings,pancakes and biscuit were amazing!! Wings were crispy and crunchy and seasoned perfectly, the biscuits was fluffy and savory with perfect balance, the pancakes were definitely reminiscent of homecooking. They have a container that keeps the syrup warm so pouring it on the pancakes is just top tier. Also had a half and half sweet tea which was the icing on the cake
Talk about southern hospitality! The Breakfast Klub stands out with its exceptional staff. The customer service here was simply outstanding. Every one was so polite, helpful, and very jovial. During the entire time I was there, whether it was short or long, there seem to always be a line. Thank goodness they have an exceptional system in place that ensures the lines move swiftly and efficiently. It may look a little chaotic but it is very well organized. You stand in line, order and pay first, and then you look for a table. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get a table because the dining room was packed but as soon as I finished ordering, a few tables cleared up. This is southern style breakfast at its best!!! The food came out quickly. I ordered the fried catfish dish that came with two eggs, a biscuit, and grits. The biscuit was delicious, making it ag great accompaniment to the dish. The fried catfish was very flavorful and the crispy batter clung to the fish perfectly, preventing it from falling apart. I enjoyed my meal a lot and would definitely order it again, despite feeling a bit heavy and bloated afterward. Great establishment. I highly recommend trying this place at least once. Note: There's hardly any parking in front of the entrance but there's more parking across the street by the building with the closed down catering company. Also, a little further down by the Obamas' mural, there's a parking lot dedicated just for customers of The Breakfast Klub.
I recently visited the Breakfast Klub on a Friday afternoon around 12:00 PM. The menu was available via QR code and differed from what you see on their website. The dining room has open seating and you must place and pay for your order before finding a table. The service was efficient; despite the line, it moved quickly. The manager also came out and greeted us while we were dining which we appreciated I ordered the wings and grits. While the wings were well-seasoned, I would have preferred if they were fried a bit longer. The grits were also good, though they required salt and pepper. I also tried the 16oz bottled margarita but found it to be unbalanced and too sour, so I was unable to drink it. Overall, the food was good and I enjoyed the atmosphere. If you are in Houston, they are worth checking out.
I tried The Breakfast Klub and I'd give it a 9/10. I had the pork chop plate, and it was really good. Everything was flavorful and well-seasoned, and the portion was definitely satisfying. I went on a Sunday afternoon and only had about a 10-minute wait, which was actually pretty surprising for how popular the spot is. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it. Great food, quick wait (at least when I went), and a solid brunch option.
My sister recommended we meet here for breakfast before my trip back home and Breakfast Klub did not let me down! I showed up about 5 minutes before opening and there were already 8-10 people in line. Ms. Gail came out to greet everyone, giving us a rundown of what to expect. Once the doors opened, we were welcomed with an applause from the staff followed by a little cheer--what a way to be greeted! Ms. Gail suggested I grab a table and wait for the rest of my party, then return to the line once they arrived. When it was time to order, Ms. Gail helped guide me based on what I wanted. Somehow, I still managed to mess up my order and didn't get the chicken wings I was expecting with my French toast, eggs, and grits. Thankfully, my sister let me try one of hers and it was so good. I was enjoying the rest of my breakfast but still thinking about how I messed up my order when an employee surprised me with three wings on the house. Such a thoughtful gesture--maybe she noticed I was a little bummed! My white mocha was also very tasty. Another employee cleared our table and offered to grab to-go boxes. Everyone was so friendly and attentive. By the time we left, the line was at least 4 times as long. I got to meet the owner and say goodbye to Ms. Gail, who gave me a big hug and told me to come back--so sweet! Beyond the food, you can tell they have a heart for the community...I witnessed a small act of kindness that really spoke to their values. Great food and great service. I highly recommend!
A Houston staple and must visit spot for out of towners. I hadn't been in years. Honestly thought we'd hit the jackpot with a short line since it was a weekday. lol nope. Ppl still wait in line outside but let me tell you it's totally worth it. They have the sweetest lady with a water table outside. She also tempted us with a plate of the daily special which was a Cajun pasta. It looked so good my friend got one to go. We still got breakfast because that was our original plan. The fish was fried to perfection. Potatoes seasoned just right. Only thing we would change my friend mentioned they could have been a tad crispier on the outside and I do agree. I got a side of gravy for my biscuit which was more than enough to share and take to go for another meal. I remembered the coffee being good years before covid. So I decided to try out the white raspberry moka. 1000000/10 it does come really sweet so I did request less sweet and it was perfect! Even though the line looks intimidating they turn the tables fast. If you haven't been get on down there! And if it's been a while it's time to try a new dish. I'll be back soon for my old order (chicken and French toast).
Drove through Austin for breakfast and ended up at the breakfast klub. We scanned a QR code for the menu so by the time we made it to the register we knew our order. We got our number and found a table. The coffee is self serve so grabbed that and silverware veggie the food came which was pretty quick. The did came out piping hot. I had catfish and grits with toast and homestyle potatoes ( this was the only thing I really could not eat) they were mushy and I couldn't get past that. But the catfish was seasoned crispy and fried to perfection. Grits with cheese was ok some lemon for the catfish would have helped for the parts that were a little fishy. I really appreciated the black art on the walls that looked like they were for purchase. This was a really popular spot for breakfast and for a Tuesday morning it was packed.
This place is definitely worth the hype. We came around 11am on a Saturday and the line was already wrapped around the first bend of the building. Parking is sparse but thankfully we found parking across the street. We waited in line for roughly 20mins but you barely noticed it as the line ran very smooth. Workers checked in with those waiting several times to offer water, provide the QR code for the menu and give an overview of the ordering process. The place definitely gives mom and pop. When talking to the owner he said they've been serving the community for over 20yrs and it shows. Nothing went unconsidered in how they manage the flow of the service. You order at the register, pay and they provide you with a number. Seating is limited inside but you can also community share with other patrons. We ordered: Margarita to go - 10/10 - baby please don't drink this before breakfast. At least give yourself a chance to make it through the day....or your meal Chicken & Waffles - 10/10 - you get 6 well sized wings with this order. The wings were perfectly battered and spiced and paired amazing with the waffle. The waffle was light and just sweet enough that if you wanted you could eat it without syrup. Pork chop w/ biscuit, grits, & eggs - 10/10 - the pork chop was moist and full of flavor. The grits, omg, we are "northerners" so we put sugar in our grits and I didn't even think about it with this dish. The biscuit made me want to cuss, it was flaky, moist, light but solid enough to slather jelly on it. It was amazing. We wanted so bad to end our day here and it was only 12pm. Fried blueberry muffin w/fresh strawberries & whipped cream - 10/10 - who thought to do this? I hope both sides of your pillow is the perfect temperature. Something about crispy edges that just does something for me. We talked about this meal the rest of the day and recommended it to anyone who asked. I wasn't sure how they were able to turn tables over as fast as they were but when you're done eating you have less than 30mins before you pass out so it's an incentive to leave. Outside of the food was the customer service. There was never a shortage of people looking around and touching each table. In all of my dining experience I don't think I've ever had this level of customer service. Those workers genuinely seemed to enjoy providing the service and it showed in everything from the quality of food, to the wait, etc. This will absolutely be a stop for me moving forward.

I've dined here a few times and the catfish never disappoints! Always crispy and fresh. I love to order it but I hate that they put peppers in their potato's. I'm an onion and potato type of girl and when I asked for a modification I was told it comes already like that. Depending on when you go there may be a line out front but they are prompt with guiding the line and getting everyone seated. My last time here the owner or manager came around to check in and ensure I was enjoying my meal. The staff are always so friendly! I see why they're always so busy. If you're a Toast rewards member you can get points for your meals here too! This is my go to breakfast spot for good southern cooked food. read more

The Breakfast Klub is definitely worth the visit! The vibe was warm and welcoming, and I loved all the beautiful artwork on the walls--it gave the restaurant so much character. We ordered the fried catfish and eggs, chicken and waffles, and the grilled chocolate chip muffin, and every single bite was delicious. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. What really made the experience stand out was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and genuinely happy to help--service with a smile from start to finish! Great food, great atmosphere, and great people. I'll definitely be back! read more
the breakfast klub, is all about southern comfort food, and i love it! difference in hospitality between the neighborhood breakfast klub and the airport extension is night and day. the neighborhood breakfast klub serves up excellent hospitality and you definitely feel like you are a part of the family. the food is phenomenal and they are deserving of all the hype! the catfish was perfection! and if you know me, you know i love a nice piece of catfish depending on the day and time of day, you will need to bring a lil side of patience but definitely worth the wait! would definitely recommend! bonné appétit read more

Fast and efficient service. I recommend coming during the week to avoid the crowds. I was impressed by how fast they worked. My favorite item was the fried chicken - no notes. The biscuits and gravy were quite salty and soggy. I also thought that the catfish was salty, but well fried. The pancakes were run of the mill. Pleasant and big. Not fluffy which may or may not be a turn off for some. I really liked my omelette although they did mess up my order. I asked for no cheese and extra veggies and it was smothered in cheese and no extra veggies which didn't bother me too much. It was also on the loud side. It made me glad I left before the live dj. Service was super friendly. People constantly checked on us and asked how we were doing. I honestly could have asked for a corrected omelette order but was just not in the mood. Definitely a great local institution and a place Houstonians should visit at least once. read more
Finally got around to trying this joint that I've been eyeing for years. The customer service was top tier I'm coming back just based off that alone! Shoutout to Gayle, Norman and all the other staff who were kind and hospitable towards me. This place has a great down south feel and a bit rustic. The service is quick you order at the counter and sit at a table while they bring you your food. The fried chicken breakfast platter was delicious and I'd order it every day if I could. read more

We are in Houston for the medical campus and our daughters found this restaurant on Yelp and wanted to try it. It was an amazing experience. Food was awesome. People were even better. They have the hospitality down. Miss Jackie greeting you out front and making you feel right at home. Terry stopped by and chatted with us as well. Food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. Their fried chicken was juicy and tender and perfectly seasoned. Different members of their team regularly stopped by to check on us and just talk adding to the homey feeling and experience and vibe. Hello Houston! If you're from out to town, this is the place to visit! You will see the famous words on the building, "BE SOMEONE." The owner is a kind and humble man. So this is my first experience at a brunch spot in Houston, and I was NOT disappointed. I was visiting a girlfriend in Houston, and she suggested the Breakfast Klub. I've never heard of it, but I was interested and compelled to try one of Houston's hotspots! We got to the Breakfast Kub a little after 11 AM on a Sunday, so there was a line, but she was like, " Trust me, the line moves quickly. It is so worth it," and it was! So the ordering situation was very different, but it does explain the line, which keeps you from having to wait for somebody to come to your table, take your order, and wait for food. Though this setup is unique, they are still very attentive, like they're gonna refill your drinks, they're gonna make sure you know you got everything that you need. They're gonna come act. I love that, so the whole order in prior to seating did not disrupt service or lessen it in any way. When it comes to the food, don't let it come to the food! The food is outstanding with great value. I ordered the catfish with grits and a side of French toast. I was surprised by the portion sizes, as this was my first visit, and I didn't know what to expect. I've included a picture of all the food in front of me --it's incredible--everything was delicious. The fish was perfectly seasoned, cooked to perfection, the grits were creamy and buttery, and it felt like my grandma was in the kitchen. The eggs were soft scrambled, just how I like them. The French toast was fluffy, not too sweet, and topped with powdered sugar. I give it a 10 out of 10 and highly recommend it. Even if there's a line, it's worth the wait. Love the food and the staff so much!! This place is perfect for week day breakfast. The portions are generous and filling. Classic breakfast plate is simple but hits the spot. I love the sausage, it's incredibly savory and juicy. And do not skip a mimosa or margarita!!! They're strong and delicious. Delicious brunch spot. We cane in around 8:20am and it was already filling up. That should tell you everything you already know as they open at 8. We luckily got a spot in the parking lot. Our friends we came with had to park on the street. The Breakfast Klub is an order-at-the-counter type place. They have a decent selection for food and some bottled beverages. I got the bacon, eggs, and potatoes plate with orange juice. The potatoes were good and seasoned. The bacon was just crispy enough just like I like it. The eggs were also good. My partner got the Klub. It was good and hefty. Delicious food all around. Everything else like utensils and to-go plates are all self-serve. Overall a nice spot. read more

I'm sad to say that this was my first time here...and I'm a Houstonian, born and raised. I passed by it on the rail when I worked and went to school in the med center. My friend suggested TBK for brunch. I think hearing about the long lines deterred me. I would say it's worth the wait, but I didn't wait. My friend found a shorter line the next block over which is still part of TBK but with a limited menu. It really doesn't matter if what you want to eat is a staple/favorite. I wanted to try their wings & waffle. I was thankful that she got there before me, found a shorter line, ordered and got us a table. We didn't have to wait long for the food to come out. This "kafe" area was once a page here on Yelp. It says closed, but I'm pretty sure this is the same location right next to the rail. It's less decorated than the main restaurant. Actually, it's not decorated at all. I think they should work on the ambiance here to make it more hip hop. I'm reminded of TBK featured in Mo's on Netflix. Also, some of the bench seating was rundown and had tears. It was nice that all the condiments like jellies, hot sauce, butter packets, silverware and take out boxes were available at a table. I very much appreciated the hot syrup. They ran out of knives, so I asked one of the employees, Terry. He made sure I got feeding utensils, and someone brought me takeout plasticware. Terry also explained all the sister restaurants which was nice. I loved the light crisp and fluffy interior of the waffle. I wish they made their own butter instead of the packets. It could elevate the wings & waffle even more than it already is. The wings were a flavor bomb with the seasoning and crunchy skin. The chicken meat itself was also flavored, and you could tell that it was probably brined to lock in that flavor. Amazing. I would order this again. The to-go mimosas that my friend ordered for us was standard. It was sealed in a 16 or 20 oz. plastic container when you buy juice from a store. Water is available at the counter for self serve. My husband and I were excited to try The Breakfast Klub, a Houston staple that always seems to have a line wrapped outside. On our visit, this was no different. We were greeted by a pleasant employee who shared the daily specials and kept the line engaged while we waited. After about 20 minutes, we finally made it inside. The restaurant had a chill vibe with soft music playing, eclectic art on the walls, and plenty of seating. Nothing overly special aesthetically, but honestly, we came for the food--not the vibes. Siiigggghhhh... I ordered the Kountry sausage and eggs with a waffle on the side. I also asked for cheese on my potatoes, but it never arrived--even after mentioning it to the waitstaff. My husband ordered the French toast, catfish, and eggs. The best thing I had was the catfish. It was well-seasoned and flavorful. The waffle was decent, but overall, the experience left me underwhelmed. What completely sealed the low rating for us, though, was seeing a ROACH scurrying across the floor as we were finishing our meal. I immediately felt sick. It's definitely a no for me. Got the chicken wings and grits. The grits were the perfect level of salty and sweet. The chicken wings were piping hot and juicy. The eggs were cooked over easy, exactly how i asked. The biscuit was buttery and delicious. Service was great. I came before my friend and after waiting in line they let me order her food even though she had not arrived yet. Ambiance is fine. Nothing to write home about. read more

Just a couple of girls in town from Miami. We're here because of a work conference but we had to find this place because we heard so many good things. The hospitality is felt before you even walk through the door. We were greeted before we walked in and given instructions on how to order and various payments of methods. Once you walk in you see the lovely art work on the walls. You feel the culture. We ordered and paid at the counter and they brought us our food. They had someone performing live which was a nice touch. Now the food was out of this world. The chicken was lovely. Nice and crunchy and juicy. The French toast was okay but nothing to go crazy for. The biscuit was nice and soft and fluffy. The omelette was fluffy and fulfilling. Overall great establishment. Wonderful customer service. Lots of smiles and positive attitudes. read more

What we got instead was a religious experience involving Wings & Waffles. The chicken: Crispy enough to make the whole table stop talking Seasoned like somebody's grandmother was supervising the kitchen personally Somehow still juicy enough to make no sense scientifically The waffle: Perfectly balanced between crispy edges and soft middle Just enough sweetness to remind you this is technically breakfast The ideal vehicle for syrup deployment Combined together? Absolute chaos in the best possible way. Consensus from the table: This is not a "split one plate and move on" kind of meal. First time in Texas and came straight to The Breakfast Klub from the airport. I found street parking a couple blocks away and walked over. There was a line outside the restaurant, but the line moved fairly quickly. You order at the counter, receive a number, and then your food is brought to your table. All of the utensils, drinks, and condiments are self served. We ordered the pork chop and eggs, wings, and waffles, and katfish and grits, all $18.95 each. I also order a white raspberry mocha ($5.50). I had the fried chicken wings and they were so delicious. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The wings were large in size too. The waffle was large, but not as crispy as I'd like. I ordered a side of whipped cream for the waffles, which was very plentiful. The fried katfish was delicious as well! The fish was soft inside, but crispy on the outside. I liked the seasoning on both the fish and chicken. The grits were a little plain in flavor even though I added cheese on it. The biskit was pretty good. I only tried a bite of the pork chop, but it was good. It came with two large pieces of pork chop, eggs, potatoes, and biskit. Plenty of food. The white raspberry mocha was delicious. The portions at The Breakfast Klub are large. You could easily share or just have leftovers. The staff was friendly and they quick. The food came out quickly and staff was quick about collecting plates. I liked the self serve stations too. Our family was down at the med center today for our special needs kiddo, and her imaging is a lot of waiting for the rest of the family so we took a walk to try Breakfast Klub today. There was a line out the door! We were hot from our walk, so their greeter grabs us napkins for us to dry off with! The line moved pretty quickly and once we ordered cafeteria style we got a table right away. Really great meal. My husband smashed his catfish, and our picky eater enjoyed most of her pancakes, and that they have a bull syrup warmer/dispenser. My sandwich was delicious - but I could only eat half of it...it's a beast! Our family would absolutely recommend that yours try it soon! read more

i've heard so many good reviews about this establishment, finally checked it for myself. THE REVIEWS ARE TRUE. when my group and i arrived we made it before the big lines started. upon arrival, there was a sweet lady telling us about their specials with the actual plates ! as a visual person, it really help me make my decision on what to eat. ended getting the famous chicken and waffles plate food did not take too long to received. once it arrived to our table, the plates smelled SOOO good !! my friend made us try the chicken first. wow !! i never tasted a crisper, really good flavor chicken as this one. alongside the big waffle. everything i ate was delicious. also the manager was going around asking how our food was and so kind ! i really appreciate that. definitely will be back ! read more
