I had the spinach and mushroom omelette with hash browns and toast. First of all, it literally came out 5 minutes after I ordered it. It also came with a salsa on the side that was sooo good. Everything was exactly what I hoped it would be. If you're like me you can become a little fatigued by all of the "trending" eateries. My husband and I have been eating at Frank's for over 35 years in one location or another. And, that alone should serve as a testament to how much we love these diner style restaurants! The food is always good, plentiful and efficiently served. The hash-browns and grits are always fresh and cooked perfectly. The homemade rolls are fluffy and delicious and the pancakes are generously sized and thick. And, on the very rare occasion that there has been a mix up on an order, things were rectified quickly and with no hassles. So you should understand that we were devastated by the news that the Frank's location closest to our house was totally destroyed by fire recently. That would be the 1915 Mangum Rd. location. It is my understanding from employees at neighboring businesses that they plan to reopen, at least temporarily, in a vacant building on a lot that is adjacent to the burned building. I have not checked that for any factual accuracy, so take it with a grain of salt, as it were. Meanwhile, we will drive the extra miles to one of the other locations. read more

It's not an Old Fashioned Diner, it's just old. Gross and dilapidated. Disorganized and eerie. Never been served a Country Fried steak where each ingredient came on a separate plate. Flavor was mediocre. Curious why the owner decided to put a bright TV with menu items in the middle of this dark and dingy dining room floor. It's really jarring. This is the location on Veterans Memorial. When you 1st walk in nobody is in a hurry to help you even though they are standing at the counter doing nothing. Last time I waited 10 mins no one came to take my order say we will be right with you so I got up and left. So here I go again giving them a chance why they serve me and old meat lover omelet? I've actually done UberEats from this place many times for my wife that works down the street, and she always has great things to say about their food. So, down the road the other day and decided to come try their lunch menu. As soon as I saw chicken & waffles, you know I had to give them a try. The waffle was pretty amazing which is what my wife usually says about it, and the chicken wings looked great and had a good taste, but they were VERY chewy and i had to literally pull on the "meat" to eat them. I started to go to Franks grill back in the 80s @ golf gate location. I been living near hwy6 and Clay for the past 18 years. I was so happy when the open Franks Grill location 1 mile from my house. At first it was same service and same quality food. Year passed and so the food quality. For about 2 years I noticed the quality of the food has been decaying and I show up and @ 7:30 am 23Dec2024 , order breakfast to go and of course expect fresh food. And this is what I get (picture). Bacon and cheese omelet was good, no complaints there. The hash browns only the upper portion was fresh and the bottom portion was burnt (probably from the day before). Maybe different owner? On 10/05/2025 I wish restaurants would just accept the responsibility, they messed up your food order. Instead of giving the wrong excuses about on what and how it supposed to be done. 2 days in a row, my order was not at the best. I ordered on Friday a sausage and egg sandwich with my egg over easy. The toast wasn't toasted. The egg wasn't over easy and the meat was cooked hard too fast burned on one side. That order was to go. Saturday I ordered the French toast sandwich with bacon, cheese and egg over easy. Great sandwich cooked just like I ordered it. Sunday today' I ordered sausage, biscuits and gray on the side over easy eggs and country potatoes: the gray wasn't hot. I sent it back they put in the microwave and gave me the same bowl. After I stuck my finger in it and ask for a fresh bowl. The potatoes look pretty but wasn't cook all the way done. I explained it to the young Hispanic woman who's the cashier all the time. She said she check it. But now it's hot. Why do restaurants think just because it's sits in the metal container that the food is hot. The container is hot but not the temperature of the food. Then she proceeded to tell me my order from Friday because of the sausage my over easy eggs was cooked hard. I literally was out done. I told her that's not true. You not a chef/ short order cook. When i bite the egg the yellow liquid should come leaking out. If it doesn't leak out that means it was cooked hard. Then we you send it back the tall Hispanic cook catches an attitude. He looks at you with the face expression like come on. Consistency and professionalism is all ways a must. Your cooking to my liking not his. So I eat there at least 2 or more a week. The food and ambiance of Frank's Grill needs serious attention and consideration upon how they make their meals. I've been in here two times and the first time the floors are dirty and the tables are barely clean! I overlook this because I love food and that's the main point :) but I was let down horrendously. Firstly I ordered a breakfast special, with some scrambled eggs and bacon and some pancakes with some hash brown. Oh! And the service was great, my server was fabulous and delivered things and was extremely attentive god bless her heart :) however when the food was delivered it was just degrading. The eggs were ok but the hash brown was actually gross it wasn't cooked all the way and it was basically just slop. The bacon wasn't cooked all the way either and was basically almost raw-ish. I wouldn't come here again at all. It's dirty, sloppy and gross. Hope this place can turn themselves around and improve I'd love to see it :( read more

It's been awhile that I have been here. Things have gone down hill. Cheese was not melted in my eggs. Has browns were not cooked. Steak was over cooked and chewy. The pancake itself was decent but the strawberry purée on top was old and bitter. Biscuits had the consistency of a dinner row instead of a biscuit.
