We love Hunt & Gather! The vibes are so amazing and the service is great! We love Suzie we had such a great experience sitting outside on the patio. All of the food is delicious and I would recommend anything on the menu.

Beautiful view from the patio

This place did not disappoint. Such an awesome menu. The Antelope appetizer was incredible, tender, flavorful. Definitely a must. For dinner, my wife had one of the specials, Cast Iron Steak Marsala, and it was an absolute flavor bomb. The steak medallions were flawless. I went for the Buffalo Ribeye. It was cooked properly but a bit lean for my liking. Nothing like a beef ribeye. But the dish was good, and the potatoes and vegetables were great. Their ice cream is made in house and OMG was it great. I also ordered the Sweet Potato Bourbon Pecan Pie because... sweet potato pie for dessert? Yes please. My wife got the flourless chocolate cake and it's one of the better ones (if not best) we've ever had. Super happy, very impressed, and not at all what we expected the dining experience to be like in a tiny rural town. Also, we were here at the end of May and sat outdoors. The views were just gorgeous and the weather was perfect. I hope this little restaurant flourishes. They deserve it!

Such a cool place...great ambience and setting. The wait staff was terrific and food matched this.

The food was delicious, the service was incredible ~ our waitress was a 6th generation Hickman and we hiked today just to see the bridge. This place is a little treasure.

Amazing spot to visit for dinner when exploring Capitol Reef National Park! Delicious food, great service and a well kept dining room! Started with the bread assortment, which came with 5 different rolls and butter. They were served warm and all were equally delicious. For my entree, I ordered the duck and oh my goodness, it was SO GOOD! I haven't had duck prepared this well in quite some time. The apricot sauce was fantastic and the rice pilaf and vegetables were a great addition I would gladly return when in the area again!

Food was excellent! Filet was and Ny Strip were delicious. Service was amazing. We enjoyed sitting on the patio! The restaurant does not have full bar service, but we did enjoy a nice bottle of wine. Definitely recommend.

I was disappointed with the entire meal quite honestly, outside of the bread. The antelope and the filet mignon had the same "barbecue" glacé, which was so disappointing on a $51 steak. No butter in sight either when I asked for no bleu cheese. The mashed potatoes were decent, and the veggies were tasty. Presentation was lovely. No one bothered to turn on the heaters near us despite voicing this with servers near earshot. The creme brûlée lacked the hard surface and was fridge cold on the inside, not what creme brûlée should be like. Then, despite mentioning it was a birthday, no one bothered to do anything special for my friend (such as writing happy birthday on the dessert we ordered). I have had better service many other places. For the price, I expected more than a sweet baby rays sauce on my steak. Hard pass next time. Don't believe the hype.

This place is above and beyond every other restaurant in the area, and would stand its own in any urban district as well. The meticulous procurement of only fresh local produce is so evident a child can see it. The mushroom risotto, high mountain trout, crab bisque, surf & turf, rabbit special, and the atmosphere were all truly remarkable. I wasted my first visit to this place on my ex, so I'll see you ago soon to reclaim it. You are masters of your craft H&G team! :-)

Finish with the Chocolate Flourless Torte. It's shareable but order your own. You're welcome. Amazing service with Kerry. Al fresco dining with beautiful red rock views.

Marsala beef. This was a mellow bit of delicious.

Primarily looking…read morefor a place to eat we stopped by on our trip from the Red Rock country of Southern I Utah to Salt Lake City. The bar is a bit off the I-70 freeway, but not too far. It is spacious inside with large tables and a friendly, welcoming staff. I had a margarita with my lunch; only one though because I was driving. It wasn't strong but was tasty enough. The beers are mostly domestic with only one micro brew selection but there were plenty of national brand choices. The food was home made and not bad for bar food. I had a Pittsburgh cheese steak sandwich that I thought was good. I ordered it with a side salad instead of fries as I had also ordered the loaded Pastrami fries which came with cheese, pickles and mustard on top. It was a bit too rich and heavy for my taste and the flavors didn't really work well together. Maybe without the mustard I would have liked it more. Not a bad place for a rest stop or a reasonable local hang out as well with some decent food.

The cheesesteak was alright. It was nothing to complain about or write home about. The jojo fries were kinda undercooked but good and seemed homemade almost. Attentive service, not overbearing. A lot of locals since Richfield isn't exactly a destination but you'll get the same treatment and be just as welcome.

We stayed at Austin's Chuckwagon Motel for a night while exploring Capitol Reef in one of the…read moreretro-Queen rooms above the store. This is a room that isn't advertised in 3rd party sites and has to be booked on the property website only - it's something like 50% cheaper than the rooms in the hotel. The room comes with unlimited tea, coffee, and hot chocolate from the General Store/Cafe. We were a bit confused with how it worked since other customers have to pay for drinks, but the clerk assured us we could go whenever to get drinks (which we did multiple times!) While we checked in too late in the day to eat at the deli and left too early in the morning for Chuckwagon's famous lunch boxes, we did hit it up in the morning for breakfast pastries, which according to the cashier are all baked in house (and why we were attracted to them in the first place). We were having trouble deciding between the Kouign Amann and the Chocolate Croissant, eventually deciding on the former, but the cashier tossed us the latter for free! What great service! Chocolate Croissant (Complementary, normally $6) - This is a gorgeous looking croissant, golden brown with a drizzle of sweet chocolate on top, still soft and gooey thanks to being fresh from the oven. It's baked hard, so croissant shards fly everywhere while eating. I'd say it's baked a tad too long, so while extremely flaky, the interior isn't quite as chewy as I'd like. The lamination does look quite good from what I can tell after having some difficulty slicing through with a plastic knife. As is traditional, two chocolate batons are baked inside. (5/5) Kouign Amann w/ Cream ($6) - Again, this pastry has a really hard bake, so almost the entire thing shatters easily, except for the stellar caramelized sugar layer covering the bottom. It's hardened, sticky, and sweet with a great crunch factor. The interior is actually correct for a Kouign Amann, which is really surprising for a small-town bakery. It's not laminated nearly as much as the croissant, and instead seems to be a nice enriched brioche interior, albeit not particularly airy and soft in texture due to the bake. There's a really tangy and somewhat sweet cream cheese frosting that's piped into the center. I'd actually prefer the pastry without this extra flourish, but beggars can't be choosers! (5/5) Both pastries are more of a 4.5/5 due to the bake, but the ingredients and technique (other than bake) seem to be well thought out. We were not expecting much from these baked goods given that the Chuckwagon Deli isn't exactly a specialty bakery, but in the end we were extremely surprised by the quality. I'll definitely be revisiting if I'm ever in town again.

Guests of the motel gets free coffee, tea, or hot chocolate from the general store which is open early til late, 10pm I believe. We ate at the deli for breakfast. I was looking forward to the quiche based on what I saw on the Yelp pictures but I guess the menu has changed. They only offer breakfast sandwiches now but it's made to order so we got to choose type of eggs and proteins. It did take a bit a time for them to make it so factor that in when planning your visit. The sandwiches were ~$12 each but were pretty filling so perfect for another day of hiking.
