We did pay a 55.00 estimate fee which I feel was well used for with the explanation that he gave. I did get another estimate that was free but I decided to go with Justin's bid because he came highly recommended by our furnace company Robbins Heating & Air Conditioning and I felt very comfortable that Justin would do the job perfectly! My 55.00 payment did apply a credit to our bill since we used them. Justin had two employees show up as promised and he also came to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction! My husband and I hired Wes to help with a few items during our remodel. We experienced a number of…read morefrustrating miscommunications - about a refrigerator water line and more serious concerns with the shower pan installation which resulted in us having to buy a new pan and pay another contractor to do the job the right way. My husband provided the instruction manual for the shower pan which clearly showed two options for installation - installing in a bed of mortar or with screws + adhesive (see photos). We asked him to do one of the two. When Wes finished, my husband went to the house to check the pan and lifted it off the floor. Wes insisted that this was the correct way to install the pan. My husband told him that wouldn't work as the pan would shift and cause issues with the tile and cracks that would leak. Wes became angry and argued saying he's set hundreds of pans this way and never had a problem. He reluctantly agreed to come out and set the pan per instructions. We were not there when he came back the second time but arrived as he was leaving. He was clearly upset and said, 'you got your four screws'. My husband asked if he used adhesive as the instructions said. He said, "Nope. it doesn't need it," and he drove off. We went inside to see the work and saw that he had not shimmed between the pan and the stud, used screws without adhesive, and, of course, the pan ended up cracking. (See photo.) My husband asked him to make it right by covering the cost of the replacement shower pan (just over $300), and made it clear we were not asking him to pay for the labor to have another contractor reinstall it. He agreed to send a check, but ultimately only paid $150, covering just half of the replacement cost. We ended up covering half the cost of a replacement pan and had to bring in a new contractor to have the job done correctly. What's most disappointing is that the values listed on his profile -- dedication, integrity and a commitment to excellence -- did not reflect our experience.
