My AC started buzzing and wouldn't blow cold anymore, I called and a technician was able to come out that same day. Replaced the blower motor and gave me recommendations as well as a quote for a new AC/furnace system. Wonderful service here in the Colorado Springs area. Very reasonable and knowledgeable too. Becky is nice on the phone. Kyle did great job explaining and restored our Heat. We have their yearly maintenance plan which includes as a part of the package, both the onsite Fall (Heat) and the Spring (Cooling) inspections, cleaning, testing, filters, efficiency and maintenance. It is also nice to get a discount on Parts if necessary too as a part of their plan. If you have an older HVAC system, or have elderly folks, or have a baby in the house, you can sleep at night knowing these guys will take care of any issue. Been using this company for years. The technician, Chad, was great and did fine work identifying and resolving a leak in our AC system. But the company quoted me $1600 to charge system with refrigerant. I found the exact same refrigerant, R410-A, online for $499, delivered in factory sealed canister. I asked Reliable to justify their price and quote me for just the labor - office told me that the owner would not. So I got a licensed technician to charge the system with my refrigerant for $200 labor. Reliable would have charged $900 more for same procedure using their refrigerant!! ANYONE can order and get R410-A refrigerant, even though the company will tell you diffrent....you only have to be certified to actually use the refrigerant to charge the system. Quick Google search will confirm this and give you ordering options. Based on the foregoing I can only conclude that Reliable would have wildly overcharged me to charge system with refrigerant. read more

Had a great experience with this company. We had a home warranty and sent them out to check the system when our ac went out. I had two ac repair companies say that I needed a new system since we were on the old r-22 system. Nick explained to me that in fact I did need a new system but explained to me why. They scheduled the install and had the ENTIRE new system installed in under 6 hours. The inspectors who checked it said they don't routinely see systems so well installed. Our furnace finally gave up the ghost at the end of October, which wasn't a surprise. It was probably the original from the late 90s and we have owned the house for just under three years. Thankfully, we had insurance to cover some percentage of the potential failure of aging appliances. We already knew Reliable Heating was on the insurance company's "approved" list since they had previously serviced the water heater. Satisfied with the water heater repair, we called Reliable hoping we could get resolution on the furnace failure before the weather got too cold. Note that Reliable is not the first local service company we have worked with, but the others left us unimpressed. Ben from Reliable arrived pretty soon after. He assessed the furnace and told us what we expected hear relative to the root cause failure. Ben has an excellent customer service attitude. He is friendly, professional, experienced, and gladly answered our questions. Ben didn't waste time with attempting to "soften" us up or scare us with existential threat to life and limb if we didn't respond quickly. Ben gave us options, which customers always want (if available), and pointed out some upgrades without aggressively promoting them (one of the benefits, in my opinion, of avoiding commission-based compensation). We had a quote within minutes. After requesting clarification from Reliable on some acronyms and specs on the estimate, we made our choice. Now, we knew there was a risk in waiting for the furnace to fail rather than being proactive. But it was a calculated risk. Even then, we were a bit anxious when we learned it would be a number of weeks before the new equipment would arrive and could be installed. We didn't see that as a Reliable issue, but one related to the current global supply chain situation. Speaking to Becky (Reliable inside sales) on the phone, she said Reliable would send out Mark who could, if possible and safe, tease some life out of the old furnace. Mark showed up soon after. Mark is a tall guy and friendly, but no nonsense. He was able to keep the furnace working, and we dropped the thermostat to avoid tempting fate before the new install. I have to say I was impressed that Reliable, at no charge to us (cuz time is money), sent Mark to patch us up. Maybe my expectations bar is set low due to many experiences with mediocre service, but I thought it was above and beyond. Reliable offers financing for those who qualify and we took advantage. I carelessly waited until the day before the scheduled install to call about the financing, but Becky routed me to Nick, who was on his day off, and he got us all set up. Nick also provided some additional information on Reliable's business processes and quality standards, as well as the future state of the industry. I will say, for those I didn't meet in person, every phone conversation was easy and friendly. To me, that is huge when it comes to customer service. Reliable confirmed the original install date they gave us was on schedule. Ben and Chad showed up on time and ready to go. Both men were professional, clean (and I mean in the sense of appearance / presentation), and, amazingly, quiet! And my home office is in the basement where they worked. Again, they answered my questions, let me know what was going on, and when they planned to be finished. We really are satisfied with the whole experience. I have worked with many in the trades and have seen again and again that QUALITY always wins out in the end. I have a lot of respect for the trades. They are the almost-invisible group of professionals that keeps the "facilities" of modern society tuned-up and online. However, it can be quite challenging for customers to find the desired balance of quality, cost, delivery, and customer service among the many businesses competing for our dollars. It is easy to become jaded when it seems most businesses put more focus on pitching their services and upselling rather than listening and focusing on what the customer truly needs / wants. However, to sum it up: working with Reliable Heating & Cooling has been refreshing and I have zero reservations in highly recommending this business. read more

Our office furnace failed just as temperatures plummeted. Every other HVAC company had a waiting list of at least a week, but one of those companies suggested Reliable, which was able to come out at 8:30 p.m. that same day. Unfortunately, we had to wait several days for a part (not their fault - the furnace is over 15 years old), but Ben showed up within hours of the part's arrival and installed it uneventfully. Ben was unfailingly cheerful, despite the long hours he was working. He also always wore a mask and stayed a safe distance away. This company's employees are geared to get as much money as they can out of you. So choose another company if you can. Our heater was acting up. Shutting off every couple days. We were able to take the door off and reset the machine and it would work again. I called our home warranty company who had this company call us back almost immediately! Which was nice. It was a Saturday that we called. The person who called us back, heard our issues and said they would have the field tech call us. When the field tech called, we explained the issues again, and told him we had everything working at this time, but we definitely realized their was an ongoing issue that needed to be addressed. So he explained the issues we were telling him about were maintenance issues that would not be covered by the warranty. Ok no problem, he said it would be about $150 to come out. Ok no problem. He comes out, spends 20 minutes checking it out, took a few pics to show us. It was extremely dusty and definitely needed a cleaning. He then says they don't do maintenance on the weekends, but still charges us $158 to come out to tell us that. I asked him why he would tell me over the phone it was maintenance and ask if we were ok with him coming out (mind you the system was working at the time). He ends up charging us anyway and setting up a maintenance call for a week later to clean the wheel of all the dust. We paid another $193 for them to actually do the work this time. I asked that they give us a credit or discount since they came out and didn't do anything before. The technician said he would try, but didn't. Businesses like this do not flourish because their customer experience is horrible. So beware. I would never call this company again. read more
