I was thrilled to discover Hunters Heating and AC after a frustrating experience with another company. The previous service provider told us we needed to replace our entire AC system for $10,000. When I called Hunters Heating and AC, Leo arrived with his assistant and quickly identified the actual issue--a leaky valve. Although we did need a new unit, it wasn't the $10,000 expense the other company had quoted. Instead, we paid $4,500 for a brand-new unit. This company went above and beyond what I expected. I took a chance and called them 30 min before 5 PM and they came within 15 min. The tech did some diagnostics and figured out he didn't have a part that he needed for the repair. By then it was past quitting time and said that he was going to be back the next day. So I said that's fine and jumped in the pool to cool off and get away from the hot interior of my home. Lo and behold another of their techs shows up at my house AFTER QUITTING TIME while I was swimming and finished the job. Talk about follow through with the work!! If you're in the Chino Hills area and need help with your A/C, I highly recommend you call Hunter. Kevin is extremely knowledgeable and very fair with everything he does. When our A/C unit died a couple of weeks ago, his team quickly found the issue. Because it required a full replacement, they wouldn't be able to get the parts needed right away. Instead of just leaving it at that, Kevin came back a second time to do a quick workaround temporarily to get the air running so that we could get through the next week while we waited. He went above and beyond to make sure that we could make it through the 100+ weather for that week. For the actual replacement, Kevin and Ildy were very helpful in explaining and making sure we understood everything that needed to be done. Knowing how busy A/C companies are during heat waves, I really appreciate Hunter Heating and A/C taking the extra time and effort to schedule my appointment. Kevin is knowledgeable and his workmanship is thorough and efficient. I was leaning towards getting a much more expensive model which has a much higher profit margin for Hunter's, but Kevin convinced me it was unnecessary and the model he recommended was more than enough to suffice my needs. The service I received from Hunter's Heating and Air was exceptional!!! I called them when our Air Conditioning system wasn't working properly. I spoke with (Debbie) a pleasant dispatcher and told her my A/C problem. Within two hours of my call two service technicians were at my home fixing the problem (system was low on refrigerant a small motor had to be replaced) the problems were fixed and the technicians did a great job explaining the problem and then fixing it. If you are looking for an honest and knowledgeable company then give these guys a call. A couple months ago we had them out to our house to give us a bid to replace our downstairs and upstairs HVAC unit while we were remodeling our new home. Our technician was very informative of what all was included, what we could expect, and answered all of our questions. Not to mention they had very competitive pricing for good quality parts (quoted on Lennox units). Due to going over budget and unexpected costs with the remodel we decided to hold of with replacing our system since they were still working. A month later our upstairs ac went out and we found out our home was still under warranty and we were able to get our upstairs unit replaced by our home warranty who unfortunately used their "preferred" HVAC company. Fast forward to July 6,2018 we experienced our first heat wave and we were excited to use our new unit. We were very disappointed and angry to find out it was not cooling at all!! We tried to get the company that installed it to come out, but at this point I did not want them near my house again. I remembered our polite and honest technician from Hunter's H&A and immediately scheduled for them to come out and take a look. Of course they were pretty booked (totally understandable), however they got out to us within a couple days. Within the first 5 minutes our technician discovered we had a leak due to a very poor soldering job. Our technician fixed the poor job that was previously done, filled up our refrigerant and boom we were back in action. We were not getting cool air from our AC; it came on but just blowing warm air. I was afraid it was time for a brand new unit since ours is 20 years old now. My faith in humanity has been reinforced. Bought a Nest Thermostat recently and attempted an install. Marketed as easy to install but clearly that have not met someone as DIY challenged as myself. After installation I was getting no power. Frustrated because my previous unit was working I worked with Nest to troubleshoot. After a few days they told me I had a defective unit and had to exchange it. A week later got the new thermostat. Excited that this would be the fix, I unboxed the unit, popped it in and nothing. Again no power. I gave up. I was ready to pay someone to figure this out as this had to be a major problem. I sent an SOS through yelp and contacted many HVAC repair/installers. Kevin to the rescue! He called and he let me explain to him my problem. He immediately had a solution for me and was certain it was the problem after what I described. He explained it and said I could try it myself and that way he didn't have to include a service charge. A quick trip to the auto store and back up the ladder at home (a few text messages with Kevin later) it worked! I can't thank Kevin enough. The Air Conditioning unit is not cooling and we called up a couple of service providers and they either responded really late or tries to sell me a system without doing much diagnostics on the system. Kevin initially said something similar, but he continued to inspect the unit with his protege and running diagnostics, and his apprentice actually found the leak below the fan. It turned out the copper tubing was rubbing against one another. They repaired the leak and recharged the system for a fair price. read more

Over the weekend, the temperature rose past 90... and it's April. I called Hunter's on a Sunday morning. Kevin said he will evaluate on a Sunday during a heatwave, but since it wasn't expected to get hot that day, he would hold off for a weekday. That is reasonable and respectable. I called to schedule a weekday late afternoon. The day of, Kevin gave me the heads up and texted me that he was running late, and would arrive in the evening. He arrived, and quickly took apart my a/c. He did a thorough evaluation and did not seem rushed, even though it was getting late and I'm sure he was tired from a long day. He discovered the wire to the capacitor had melted, and quickly resolved the issue. He mentioned that my system was old and in the near future would be worth replacing. I had recently had Costco give us a quote, and they pushed a ridiculously expensive multi variable motor seer 100+ system. Kevin suggested a less fancy lower maintenance system. Had Kevin come out in May 2017 to take a look at our aging AC system. He said that it was likely on it's last legs, which is understandable, as it's the original unit from when the house was built 27 years ago. We were hoping that it would last the summer before needing to be replaced, but sadly that wasn't the case. On a day when it was 97 degrees out, the unit stopped cooling. I called Kevin the next morning and he came out the same day to diagnose. He determined that the unit had a bad fan motor. Since we didn't want to sink money into a 27 year old system, we decided it was time to bite the bullet and purchase the new system. Kevin walked me through the options (and told me where he could actually save us money!), however it was going to be a few days before he could come back and install it. The thought of dealing with no AC during the first heatwave of the year was scary, but Kevin decided to install a new motor in our system *free of charge* to make sure we were up and running until he could get back for the install! Kevin and crew definitely care about their clientele, and take pride in their work. An absolute 100% recommendation in my book.
