Leslie's Pool Supplies - Free Pool Water Test Station

Leslie's Pool Supplies

(7 reviews)

Of course being a smart consumer I shopped around when we were in need of replacing our pool…read morefilter, pump and converting to salt water in our pool. Out of the many local stores I checked for quotes/prices. Leslie's in Wallingford CT was BY FAR the most organized program/service department, helpful, and friendly. Also the most affordable. At other stores I had to take pictures of price tags to get an estimate and I was also told at other stores they couldn't give me an estimate for the job until they went out to DO THE WORK! Sorry but this family is on a budget and before we decide WHO will do the work we need an estimate, NOT when you show up to do the work! That's not how things should work. So anyway John from Leslie's service department came out provided a WRITTEN estimate and Mary the store manager has gone out of her way to try and remove obstacles to get him out here for installation. I haven't seen amazing customer service like this in years. Every time I go into the store for just a water test I am thrilled and amazed by the knowledge of the staff and enthusiasm to help and care about us! Just, thank you! That's all I have to say! I hope this makes it's way to the staff there at the Wallingford CT store! I want them to know how appreciative I am! Sara Cozza

All the staff has been helpful, though I have worked with Mary and Angelo the most. In addition, John, the technician who opens and closes our pool, is always helpful and pleasant to work with. Just a great company. Mary answered the phone a few minutes after closing, which was so great and helpful for me! All the employees are pleasant and informative. I'm very happy to have them.

I have only good things to say about Spa Keepers. Jeff and his gang have kept my 24-year-old…read moreSundance spa running far past its normal life span, and I have found their billing fair for the work they do. I feel lucky to have them when needed to keep my spa on "life support!"

I originally contacted Spa Keepers in late 2015 to repair a Sundance spa that had a burst pipe from…read morea previous winter. The tech was very pleasant and easy to work with. He diagnosed the issues and found a number of items that needed repair, including a heater and some piping (all damaged due to the freezing). The parts were ordered and although originally came in wrong (causing a re-schedule), they did finally come out and in late October and repaired the tub. The repairs went fine. The tech showed me all of the parts, made sure the water levels stayed up, etc. We had an old filter that he cleaned off and said would be OK to use as we were not going to be using the tub for the foreseeable future, we just wanted it repaired and running. The tech made no indication that the filter may cause future issues. (Note: The tub was never used during this entire time and the cover was kept on) I spot-checked the tub over the next few months --- the second time I checked about 2 months later -- I noticed the temperature was recording about 15 degrees below the set temperature. Everything else seemed fine. I checked the settings and left. The next time I came the temperature was back to the set temperature and all seemed well. About 2 months later I noticed the same problem again and so I called Spa Keepers and informed them of the issue and mentioned we just had the heater replaced. I also gave them full details of the situation in advance, in case this would trigger possible solutions ahead of time or in case they needed to bring a part, etc. I have them flexibility to choose whatever time was convenient for them, as the tub was outside. A new tech game and after some inspection determined that the filter was causing the heating issue -- he said that the fact that the filter was clogged or had reduced capacity, it was reducing the flow and so the tub could not properly heat. He indicated they could order me a replacement for approximately $95 + $10 shipping but did not have one on hand. A few days later I received a bill for a $90 service call + $115 for the first hour of service. I politely wrote in asking if they had any leeway to adjust the bill down as no service really needed to be done... and that I was never warned that the filter should be replaced or it could cause this issue -- and was never asked when I called for the follow up if I had tried changing the filter. Janessa wrote back: "Our previous service visit was on 10/27/15 so the filters are not in the same condition as they were on your 3/7/16 appointment. It is important to clean and replace your filters as needed." Our tub was not used at all during that time and we were told it would be OK to use the existing filter. We also never experienced this problem with the tub in 10 years of use. I also received a "non-apology" (basically apologizing that you feel a certain way): "We do appreciate your business and apologize if you feel that you were not given the information you needed regarding filter maintenance." While I did not expect them to eliminate the bill, considering I had just spent ~ $1500 in overhauling the tub and was not warned the filter would cause this issue, even a token gesture saying "you know, since we were only there a few minutes we will waive part the hourly fee" would probably have sufficed. Instead they doubled down on their charges -- "Our minimum charge to come out is $218.02 regardless of the result of your visit. " Now contrast this to a plumber that came out to repair a leaky drain cap on a shower -- the plumber arrived, looked at the drain cap and said "I'm not going to charge you for this -- take a screwdriver and a hammer and tighten the plate and your problem will be solved for free". In Summary: Spa Keepers original service tech was great and personable. Their customer service handling of situations is lacking and I avoid companies that don't make reasonable accommodations based on situations. As for whether replacing the filter will resolve the issue, I don't know -- I will update this in the future.

It's a body scrub where you are completely unclothed and a woman with two minutes rubs your body and dead skin flies off. At the end, you were rubbed down in oil. I was worried that this wouldn't be relaxing, or it would even hurt. Let me first say that they put you in a sauna for as long as you can stand, and then a wet sauna. Next you go into the room face up, and the scrubbing starts. Well, it is not as relaxing as a massage, by any means There is much satisfaction in the results. I left with glowy soft skin feeling wonderful! The spa offers an option where you can purchase a membership and the services are cheaper. I will definitely become a frequent flyer! I can't recommend this place enough!
