I asked owner to open my pool on 5/15. He stated that he would reach out to me as the time got close. On 5/15, i had not heard from him and i reached out. Owner was rude and told me to wait until he is ready. Spoke over me and cut me off when explaining i had a function i had to plan for my pool to be open. Horrific customer service. Jason, runs the best pool company in CT. We have had our pool for 35 plus years. We needed some repairs made and a new liner for our Johnny Weissmuller 15 X 30 pool. Not only was he the most reasonable he was professional, humble, appreciative. He called & texted so we where updated daily because its still early in the season and he wanted the temperature to be correct. With that said he still got us done almost 2 months earlier than the person we used to use. His workers are professional, well mannered and treated our home and pool with the up most respect. After contacting Jason, he was extremely rude and gruff, has a personality of a shoe lace. He immediately throws out an inflated price probably because he has so much work he doesn't care whether you use him or not, than he tells me to take a bunch of pictures and send them to him, crickets no response. Goods & Services First, let me begin by saying that we are satisfied with the quality of the work provided to us on our above ground pool in Meriden, CT. This is a no-nonsense review, so it is important to note that the outcome of the work quality was as expected. To us as customers, this is the first pool that we have ever owned, so our plan was to have the pool opened for the 2018 season with any parts required to be installed to prepare the pool to last another 5-10 years. The specific work planned was as follows. * Replace Liner * Add Floor Foam * Add Cove Foam * Add Wall Foam * Install of New Stair System * Install of New Filter * Install of New Pool Light * Install of New Skimmer & Return * Fill Pool with Water (Sub Contracted) * Seasonal Pool Opening Service The work that we contracted this company to provide was quite expensive as the work was pretty substantial. It is important to note the obvious to anyone considering services provided by this and all firms... When working to finalize your quote with this company to become a signed contract, be sure to identify that all parts (fittings, nuts, etc.) required to install anything purchased are included in your quote and signed as such in your contract. See "Cost & Payment" section below for more information. Work Site Results As mentioned, the quality of the work done to our pool specifically is what we expected. Left behind on the worksite following the partial completion of this contract, however, were the old liner in multiple pieces left on the lawn as well as several cigarette butts around the pool area and on the deck. The expectation was that the liner would be removed, but after inspection of the contract it appears that this may or may not be the responsibility of the owner - it is somewhat nebulous to know for sure. This is important to know if you forget to ask and/or are not in the habit of reading fine print on contracts. Regarding cigarette butts, these should never appear anywhere on a customer's property. Cost & Payment Throughout the process, the cost was never totally clear. An initial quote was provided in late May with a total for goods & services requested. The agreement to move forward on the work requested was then signed 2 weeks after the initial assessment. At the time of the signing the quote into a contract, the contract was rewritten as some of the details were not included initially. The work then commenced on 6/8/2018. Once the work got underway, the cost then became unclear relative to what was agreed to. Listed on the contract but missing from the initial delivery of goods to be installed was a pool light that was part of the signed contract at a cost of $175. On the day of this install, and upon realization of this missing item due to not being included in the delivery of all other goods, the cost of the item should have been refunded in kind. However, the company mentioned multiple times that they 'forgot to include' the cost of other goods associated with the install of items mentioned - which is where the cost then became unclear. Instead of the $175 returned (as mentioned), a refund of $100 was provided (apparently to make up for the cost of the forgotten goods required to install the new filter and skimmer in the initial quote). To me, this amount was acceptable as I was still thrilled to have this pool light installed which was initially promised by the company on the date of install and then subsequently promised at some later date due to the light missing on the install date. This is where the follow through has broken down. See the "Follow Through" section for more information. Follow Through The pool light install was important to us as customers, so the agreement was that the company would return to the site to install this item once we (yes us as customers) were able to locate and purchase this light. The light, although out of stock at the company's supplier, was available at 3 out of 3 pool store locations that I contacted 1 town over from ours. The price was lower than the company's supplier, but I purchased the light the day after the install and service of everything else as we were excited to have it installed as promised.
