Glad to support a local farmer! Super happy that picking strawberries as a family tradition can continue through the COVID 19 pandemic. Picking started in mid-April in 2020. Baskets were not reused. Instead the baskets added $1 to your price, no weighing. Bring your own basket and pay $11 a gallon. We reused baskets from last year and a family size ice cream bucket. It was easy to practice social distancing in your own row. Check Facebook to see if they are open. Sorry no website. There is an updated recording if you call (919) 669-6048. They do close when they are picked out waiting until more are ripe before reopening. This is a family operation! Kids under 13 were helping in the hut, practicing their math skills, public speaking, leadership, and enforcing public safety distributing hand sanitizer before picking. Ample parking available.

We're knee-deep in strawberry season, so it's time for some berry picking! I found Hunts Strawberry Farm online, most of your options are on the outskirts in Wake County so I thought the 20 minutes to get to this location was pretty reasonable. The set-up here is pretty simple, pull into a gravel lot, grab a 4 quart ($10.50) or 5 quart ($11.50) plastic bucket and start picking. There seems to be about an acre of strawberry plants here in neat rows on raised beds. The plants are protected underneath with black plastic so the picking is pretty simple. And relatively clean, you won't find much in the way of bugs on your berries. I took home a large tray and tried a couple, fantastic! The berries here are super sweet and tasty. And you get to choose the better looking ones! So a thumbs-up for pic your own at Hunts Strawberry Farm. As long as your back and knees are up for it, it's some good clean fun...

I really enjoyed my time at Hunts Strawberry Farm! While looking for locals farms in the area, I came across Hunts and realized it's only 10 minute drive from me. Getting there was a bit tricky but nothing too terrible with gps! When we got there, we saw a sign with different options, which included 4 quart ($10.50) bucket, 5 quart ($11.50) bucket, or pre-picked strawberries. We decided to get the 5 quart bucket and share. We grabbed the bucket and off to strawberry picking we went! Since we went at the end of May, a lot of strawberries had been picked already for the season. We went through a couple of rows and were still able to find lots of strawberries! You take your bucket back to the ladies up at the front then they put them in a tray/ box for you (see photo)! Since we didn't fill up the bucket, they were nice to charge us $10! We tried the strawberries when we got home and they were very sweet! Definitely worth a visit! Great date idea or family activity for the weekend. I'd recommend going at the very beginning of the strawberry season while the weather is a bit cooler and there are more strawberries available!

Love it! Their strawberries are really good. They are so sweet. Their prices are reasonable and the staff is really nice. If your looking for a place to have some family time you might want to take a look at this place. I brought my siblings here not so long ago, it was their first time strawberry picking and they love the experience especially the strawberries. Not to mention our guinea pig also is a fan.

The fields were very organized and you can fill the bucket as high as you want as long as you can still hold the handle.

So there's not really too much to do other than sit on some rocking chairs & eat some ice cream (which we did enjoy doing.) I didn't even realize that there was a trail out there until after we had already left and I'm seeing other people's reviews so they may need to put up signs for that in the store area. I feel like the inside is really just ice cream, coffee, and a small little nursery area. Not sure if the drive out there was really worth it for the 15 to 20 minutes we spent out there. The banana ice cream was really awesome though and all of the employees there were very helpful and nice. Definitely a place that you go to when there's an actual event unfortunately we just missed the fall wreath making event Seems like people bring their kids out there to run around the outdoor area. Not sure if the prices of the ice cream or the plants was necessarily great, but it's a smaller owned business I'm sure so it tracks

They make homemade icecream and sorbet year round. Also they serve coffees and lattes. There is some picnic tables around to enjoy coffee and icecream with a beautiful view of the farm. I tried the coffee leche icecream and the strawberry and green apple cider sorbet. There all great flavors.

The drive wasn't bad and it was very easy to located. Parking was a breeze and there was overflow as well. We were greeted by a staff member upon entered the main building that houses ice cream, drinks, local artisan work for purchase, and hemp products. Everything was neatly labeled, the space was nicely arranged to allow for easy shopping, as well it was very clean and clutter free. We were informed that on Saturdays they had like an adult themed gathering with music, food (provided by a local food truck), and drinks. We decided to come back and check it out. So glad we did! We arrived that Saturday around 8pm. Parking again was easy. The event was put together very well - with the food truck located right beside the building. You were able to purchase your food, get something from the shop, and find a seat outside to enjoy the evening. The music was great. The people were awesome - good convo and they had UNO going for those that wanted to play. We got to meet the owner and his wife. That was a joy as we got to learn more about the farm and their vision. Overall, we are excited to adventure back for other events.
