I've been using their services for the past two years, and I truly couldn't be more grateful. I work across three states and run an Airbnb business--so my tax situation is far from simple. From the very beginning, they've been nothing but professional, knowledgeable, and deeply committed to helping me manage both business and personal bookkeeping. Most recently, I referred my fiancé to them. He had six years of complex, unresolved back taxes due to past circumstances. Nick and the team not only helped him get fully caught up and in good standing with the IRS--they also managed to secure a significant refund, which was a huge blessing. Hurliman CPA did as I asked, completed and filed my tax return. Their communication and responsiveness was extremely poor. No one explained the process or expected timelines to me. I wrote several emails asking for the status of my return or what to expect and at times got no response. Once they finished my return, I got an email with instructions and asking for payment, and a one liner at the bottom to reach out if I wanted to talk with the accountant. It took multiple calls, voicemails and emails to finally get an accountant on the line. Then after I paid, it took a couple more emails to get them to send me a docusign so they could submit my taxes. Finally, they never confirmed they filed my taxes, I ended up going to the IRS to confirm. Did as they were asked but communication was terrible. read more

I could go on and on about the issues that I have experienced with Hurliman CPA. We signed up for their bookkeeping and tax services for our small business in 2021. We had nothing but problems since. #1 We were to receive monthly P&L statements. During the entire 16 months, we were with them, we did not receive 1 single P&L. #2 They were unresponsive and did not follow up on my questions or concerns without repeated follow-ups. #3 They billed me like clockwork but were not providing the services. #4 they messed up our taxes. They couldn't keep it straight if we were an LLC or an S-Corp. They filed as if we were an S-Corp, we were not! #5 After I hired a new accountant (who is AMAZING), they found that Hurliman had overstated our 2022 revenue by tens of thousands of dollars. My new accountant was able to clean up my books and reconcile within 2 weeks! #6 My 2021 Taxes were not filed until January 2023!! When I called to cancel and complain, I was to send an email to Nick the owner outlining my complaints. I was fuming at the time and told them "no" and if they wanted to hear my complaints, the owner can call me. I NEVER HEARD A WORD FROM HIM #7 THEY CONTINUED TO BILL ME AFTER I CANCELLED!!! As of today, $500 is still being debited from my account for SERVICES NOT RENDERED! read more

If a -1 star could be left I would. The man states he's a Christian but he is shockingly dishonest. The magnitude of impact he had on my business putting me 3 years behind on taxes during COVID and exposing me to a $5K IRS fine was unbelievable. Nick pretended I had not paid yet when I demanded him to either file on my behalf or refund my $1500 I gave him he decided to do the wrong thing and refund me as opposed to do the right thing and file of which he had been paid to complete yet refused. This caused a chain of events that domino affect made it unbelievably difficult to get another firm on board to pick up the disaster he created. My strong recommendation never use their services. read more

We have done business with them for years. We are a small home business. Every year our price went up and up. This last season they wanted to charge us $65 for one form because we made $50 in capital gains??!! Not happy. And to boot, I have to do a form for the State they missed that was due by January that I just found out about! Nice enough people but the new guy is not experienced and does not fully understand what he is doing. Won't be going back there for sure. read more
