We had to remove 6 huge solar panel platforms made of pressure treated wood from a foam roof. This job required supervision, insurance, attention to detail (foam roof!), and lots of equipment (saw, truck, ladders, etc). The first time they came and hauled all the junk out of my yard (from old trash to tree limbs) and recently they came back and took care of 1200 lbs of oak that fell during our last storm with chain saws and trimmers. Both times they did an amazing job. Their fleets all run on biodiesel, they are a certified green business, and they recycled everything that could be recycled. He was very nice and provided me with a fair estimate. I really liked that he was available via email and text because I was able to send him pictures after his visit and asked for estimate for more work to be done. Since moving to Marin in 1990, my wife and I have used Hurricane Hauling for many projects over the years at several different properties, mostly for hauling away junk and debris. In October of this year, I received an email flyer from Paul about all his services. I was thrilled to discover that they did all kinds of tree work, yard clearing and gutter clearing. We needed all of that for fire prevention right away and for the winter rains going forward. We have a very large lot with one section that is quite steep that was massively overgrown with awful shrubs and dying trees. A huge job. So I Called Paul. Paul came to our house the next day to estimate the work. We got a quote from him the following day. Very reasonable. A day later a big crew came out, Led by Lupe. Lupe turned out to be one of the best people I have ever worked with. His crew, who are also terrific, jumped in right away. After about 4 to 5 days of continuous hard work in hot weather, they uncovered this amazing network of beautiful handmade cascading rock walls throughout our property. Turns out, all the walls were done in the 50s when the house was first built. Our property now looks fantastic, with all the trees trimmed and all the large dead ones removed. Eventually someone answered and was extremely rude, demanding to know why I had called three times. At that point I lost interest in hiring Hurricane for anything. We had to remove a large amount of brush/downed tree stumps/Scotch broom from our property to comply with defensible space and fire code requirements. Much of it was in a steep area with somewhat difficult access; in addition, we were doing other work on our home, so coordination with other trucks/contractors in our driveway was needed. I was worried that this would all be stressful, but Paul's crew, led by Alex, did a fantastic job. Paul and Alex were easy to communicate with, asked questions when needed to make sure that they didn't take out anything we wanted to leave and likewise to be sure that they were doing enough to meet our requirements, and were flexible to do a change order when we discovered addition material that needed to be removed under all that brush. The entire crew was hardworking and professional, and coordinated helpfully with the other contractors. What I thought would be a crazy few days went incredibly smoothly.
