A lot of orthodontists have swag bags of merch and other bells and whistles to get you to come in, but do they all back it up with good patient care? We were referred to Dr. Hurst by our dentist several years ago and yes, has all the fun things including shirts and gifts (even a yearly private party at The Wave! How generous is that?!) but it's clear by everyone's kindness when you schedule, work out your insurance, or call after hours that this is more than advertising. They want to build a relationship with you and your kids so that they have a positive experience and aren't afraid to come in. THEN he and his team take excellent, gentle care of their teeth! They are patient with scheduling for busy families, have a great system of reminder texts, once he came in on an off-day to make an emergency adjustment before my son went to sleep-away camp! Seriously 10/10 plain old good care and family environment, not a sales pitch. read more

Dr. Hurst and his staff and the most welcoming and inviting people I have ever met. I went to Dr. Hurst when I was younger and he gave me a phenomenal smile. I recommend Dr. Hurst to everyone I know who is looking to straighten their teeth. The staff is extremely helpful in making sure you can afford your dental treatment. I recently returned to Dr. Hurst for a second round of straightening (Wear your retainer kids! Don't end up like me)! Dr. Hurst is an incredible Orthodontist and I've got to say, an all around nice guy! I was transferred to Dr. Hurst from a dentist with whom I had undergone disappointing results from Invisalign treatment. April 20, 2018 I'm a new patient with Dr. Hurst. At age 61 I found my teeth had drastically moved, a childhood underbite once corrected with braces has come back to haunt me and I have some obvious spacing between my front bottom teeth. All have which has impacted my self-confidence. I received a recommendation from my very dear friend who works in the ortho industry (not this office) to make a consultation appointment with Dr. Hurst. I'm so happy I did. Dr. Hurst readily evaluated my needs. He and his very professional, friendly staff spent well over an hour with me for the consultation. In addition, Dr. Hurst provided me with a list of general dentists in my network in preparation for ortho work. I needed a deep cleaning, and low and behold had a couple cavities to correct prior to proceeding with ortho work. Dr. Hurst was and is very sensitive to my fear of dentists and even made contact with the dentist I ultimately saw to ensure my comfort would be considered. He sincerely cares about his patients and is an excellent communicator. To that end, Dr. Hurst did put braces on my teeth about one month ago and I'm just beginning the process. He and his staff have been marvelous. They are professional, have an outstanding bedside manner and there is no doubt in my mind of the knowledge and expertise with Dr. Hurst and his staff. They know their craft. Although I'm of course looking forward to completing this process, I'm very happy to have selected Dr. Hurst. I'm not an easy sell and therefore can assure you I write this review with a high degree of thoughtfulness. It is for these reasons (and more) I rate this practice a 5-Star Rating! I'm dating myself here, but I was a patient of Dr. Sundquist back when I was a teenager. I received lots of dental work here, including head gear to adjust my jaw and braces. Dr. Hurst took over the practice during that time and I was immediately taken with his enthusiasm and friendliness. He always had a smile on his face and never missed a day of work. He made coming to the office a fun and enjoyable time, which is hard to do when you're a moody teenager having to wear braces. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that some of the employees are still there after all these years. He adjusted my retainers, cleaned them and gave me a new case all at no charge. I've been going to Dr.Hurst for 10 years. I've had 3 rounds of braces from him. First two were metal and my current brackets are ceramic. Over the course of 10 years I've had countless jaw issues. I was first introduced to Dr.Hurst and the staff in 2005. I had an underbite that needed serious correcting. Regardless of my jaw structure and problems I've dealt with, they've always been here to help. I'm in my 20's and still feel welcomed as ever.
