"A hidden jewel" is a quote you will read over and again about this beautiful ranch; it is so true! On the hunt to find the perfect place to host our wedding, we each individually found the Hurst Ranch and Bashful Butler catering. We saw their event planning page and were delighted to see the variety of menus that were offered and decided to schedule a sit down with an event coordinator. Donna was able to sit down with us, give us a breakdown of all the moving parts, then walked us around the facility, and we fell in love. The food was amazing, the venue was beautiful and the staff were great. We were able to host the perfect wedding without breaking the bank. We were ecstatic and our guests really enjoyed themselves. Everything was beautiful! Thank you for giving us the perfect night!

Had my wedding recently 4/26/25 and everything was amazing, Donna and her crew worked with us and made sure everything was perfect! I was extremely happy with this beautiful venue and the help we had, highly recommended this place to everyone!

Beautiful venue and great service! Would highly recommend. These are pics from my daughter's Quince.

The venue was the best! We took pictures, had the ceremony , cocktail hour and the party all in one place! Everything went as planned and my guests said it was the best Quinceañera they've ever been to! Kudos to the whole staff and will highly recommend to all!

I visited Hurst Ranch in Azusa for an exciting large-scale Yelp Elite event on a rainy day. Situated in a quiet residential area, this rustic-style ranch doubles as both a large event venue and a historic community museum. The large, white structure is the reception area where about 20+ tables surround a stage and dancing floor with bars on the side. The charming, barn-like structures outside is the museum section where visitors can explore the classroom, engine house, and firetruck pump house back from the early 1900s. As former teachers, the excited docents were teeming with joy talking about the ranch and how much they enjoy the churning butter and making crafts with children from local school field trips and special festivals. This beautiful ranch is a great location for medium-large scale events, and a great idea for parents to take kids on a quick afternoon outing to visit the museum section. The community outreach program here is genuine and is a great way to support this historic piece of San Gabriel Valley!

What a beautiful place. I was fortunate to enjoy attending a Yelp event here and I was truly blown away. Not only is this a fantastic venue for any special event, but it's also occupied by some of the most wonderful ranch care takers. The ranch is located in a residential area across from a school. The original ranch covered over 150 acres of land surrounding the current location. What you see there is what it really was and still remains. This is a true piece of local history which we are fortunate still exists. What was once a fully functional ranch has been drastically down sized but is still being used by those who rent it for special events. Everything on the ranch is authentic, providing a rustic backdrop which is beautiful for any type of event. I was fortunate to meet a Hurst family member while there. She shared stories of growing up on the once fully functional ranch. This is a hidden gem, which although only a fraction of what it once was is still an amazing experience to partake in. Thank you Yelp for the invite to the event. Thank you Hurst Ranch for providing this wonderful venue.

What a charming wedding venue! My husband and I attended a wedding here on July 2017 and it was so much fun. The ceremony took place outside around 4:30pm on a warm summer evening, and although it was a bit hot at first, it eventually cooled down as the night went on. They do have umbrella stands in the ceremony area which shields some of the sun, so that helped. We then moved indoors for the reception which was comfortably air conditioned. Lots of space for the guests to move around & dance. I loved the twinkle lights that hung across the ceiling too; it made for a very whimsical and fun ambiance. Food & and dessert were also tasty. They had a cash bar and our bartender, Stephanie, was awesome. She did an awesome job serving up some (strong) drinks. ;) Overall, we had a great time celebrating with the bride & groom and dancing the night away. Wouldn't mind coming back here for another wedding :)

We had our reception at Hurst ranch on 9/25/2021... my husband and I loved the look and how everything was pretty much included- (we just had to get our own dj and someone to decorate). Donna worked with us every step of the way and answered all our questions and set up appointments for us for the food tasting and the cake tasting. We had our walk through and she made sure everything was perfect. The day of the servers and our bartenders were very nice and attentive Our guest complimented us on the food and venue ... it recommend hurst ranch it's such a hidden gem!

Juat finished our first yelp event at this location. This location itself was pretty historic. Also they have a museum type feeling with a lot of information. However, today's event was a very good success and we came across some local businesses that we would have never known ever existed. Along with a lot of samples and when I tell you a lot of samples I mean a lot of samples we got our "lunch" plus some free drinks and a whole lot of goodies. I was finally able to met hayley who is the CM for the Inland Empire and got some nice insights about Yelp and her job. Overall this event was very nice being our first yelp event we had awesome fun. Thank You Hurst Ranch and Thank You Yelp.

Our friends had their wedding here. Nice venue. Not too much parking, so guests will have to park out on the street. We parked next to the school. Walked over in flats without too much issue. The area that they seated us for the ceremony, though, was layered with rocks/pebbles. Girls with heels had a little bit of issue, but not too bad. The rest of the venue was fairly flat and even. Ceremony was nice. Unfortunately, the wireless microphone kept crapping out, so we couldn't hear at least 75% of the wedding . Not cool! If it's a professional setting, I would've thought that they would've tested everything first. The bar area was okay. Thought it was a little kitschy that the venue was serving drinks in those semi-clear, ribbed solo cups (you can get a thousand of those at Costco fairly easy), instead of something a little nicer, like the clear, short cups. It's a wedding, be a little classy! Also, for $7 a drink, kind of a rip-off. Grab beer, instead. At least you'll get 8 fluid ounces instead of 3 ounces (too much ice). They had the actual dinner inside one of the barns. They have lights on the ceiling, which kind of looks nice when you walk in. However, some of the strings were broken and, from a different point of view, it looked like a spider's nest. Food was pretty good, but I'm not sure if they were catered by the venue or if the bride/groom was able to pick what they wanted. Pretty clean areas, though. The actual venue service seemed a little off. Sometimes they acted a little rude, but there were others that were very polite. Lots of parts of the venue where you could definitely potentially do your own decoration if you are crafty. The bride and groom basically made all of their decorations, and they had such an open canvas to do it, that it came out very cute. Overall, it was a nice wedding, but I think it was more because of the bride and groom being awesome people and everyone was there for them.

Try your luck at tossing some rings for a bottle of wine!

Hurst Ranch is a cute little 3 acre blast-from-the-past historical venue with a motto of, "preserve the past, harvest the present, plant seed for the future." I've attended various events at this location, but most recently I attended their historical society fundraiser. Being greeted with champagne as you walk in always puts a smile on my face. My tastebuds love being tickled by the bubbly! There were a variety of foods to sample, beers, wine, and spirits. I tried a taste of the moonshine! The silent auction was pretty neat. They also had blackjack, roulette and craps tables set up for you to try your luck at. I enjoyed the music the most... A live big band playing all of the classics! Benny Goodman would have been pretty pleased, I'm sure. They also had some live bluegrass (or country) music as well. I know it's not everyone's cup-of-tea, but it was still a fun evening and for a great cause! How about some sexy pics and vid:

Very kid friends with awe sensory activities and book reading groups. I recently started school. I enjoy a different scene from my warm bedroom especially now in the summer. Studying at this library is not as pleasant as it used to be. It smells really bad in specific areas due to many homeless people. They take up all the study tables and quiet corners. Most of them sit for hours on their phone. Some Sleep for hours. It's not as quiet as other libraries but it's quiet enough to study my online classes. I'm a bit disappointed with how the remodeled. It feels more modern than homie which is no issue just not my vibe. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience here at Rubel Castle. Our host, guide,…read moreand local "Rubelligent" volunteer, Ms. Kathleen had all the intel about this historical property. She was so knowledgeable and helped set the stage for us to slip into a forgotten era and get a glimpse of how imagination met inventiveness with a DIY charm. ~ A LITTLE BACKSTORY FOR YOU ~ It's not pronounced Rubel as Barney from Flintstones. Rather, it's like Target is to Targét when we are trying to be fancy. So that's Rubel as in "Roo-bell." Unlike modern-day construction, Rubel Castle wasn't built overnight. It was made of collected recyclables and construction rubble that spanned many decades and took several friends and volunteers to build it. For Michael, however, the lifetime inspiration was first sparked at the age of 9. His love for canons was where it started and the rest is history you can hear about on the tour. But don't just show up like we did randomly one day. To book, visit RubelTours.org and make a reservation. ~ OUR TOUR EXPERIENCE ~ It's as if Michael Rubel, the creator and mastermind of this enchanted dominion had intended it to be--magical. Built in the castle period of wood and tin, every corner captured our interests, from antique cars to the 1890's Seth Thomas Tower Clock with a unique backstory (and only six in existence today). There were old vending machines, tools, trinkets, and machinery that time had long forgotten. Did I mention there was a drawbridge? Yes, and a dungeon too. I was just waiting for a dragon to come swoop down on us next. Walk in the footsteps of famous visitors like Alfred Hitchcock, Dwight Eisenhower, Jack Benny, and Bob Hope. It's a feast for the eyes no matter where you glance. I particularly enjoyed the bottle house that Michael built in 1968 as his "home" as a kid. That independent spirit was quite charming to see. ~ WATERCOLOR NATURESCAPE ~ We were fortunate to have our gracious host lead us on a tour and organize a special art crafting experience outdoors. It was absolutely lovely beneath the trees and between rusted vintage cars from the turn of the century. We each got a small canvas to paint our flowers in watercolor. (This particular experience takes place in the Spring and Fall, weather permitting.) We heard the squirrels rattling in the leaves and birds chirped and sang in the trees above. We discovered that peacocks apparently originated from this property, compliments of Michael Rubel. And did I mention that on the far side of the property, a custom garden was in full bloom? Thanks to the sheer persistence (and probably delightful stubbornness) of Michael Rubel, we now have this quirky, towering State Treasure sitting right in the middle of Glendora like a fairy tale that accidentally took a detour through a hardware store. This place is beautifully done, and part of its charm is that it's a full-on hodgepodge of relics, antiques, crystal trinkets, and "wait... what is that doing here?" moments tucked into every nook and cranny. You'll marvel, you'll laugh, you'll squint in confusion--honestly, it's everything you'd want in a castle built with love, imagination, and a dash of madness. And let's talk about the makeshift cemetery. Quirky? YES. Fun? Absolutely. Slightly spooky? Only if your imagination is over-caffeinated. But it fits the vibe perfectly--like the castle whispered, "You know what I'm missing? A tiny cemetery." The tours are fantastic, the guides are passionate, and the whole experience feels like you're stepping into a living scrapbook of California history and charming chaos. Overall: Amazing, amazing place. Book your tour. They only do tours every first Sunday of the month, so set your alarms, mark your calendars, tie a string around your finger--just don't miss it. Rubel Castle is truly a California State Treasure, and an absolute must-see for anyone who appreciates creativity, history, and a little eccentric sparkle.

Of course, the place is already quite dirty as it is, especially since it's closing soon. Some of the rooms were cool. I like the balloon room and the lights, but some people should really read the rules. First off, this family blocked the stairway to get in. And one of the family members was this short, big guy who was just running in the balloon room in circles and popping all the balloons and kicking them around up over the walls. Now that's fine, but then me and boyfriend tried to make our way in and another couple too, were there. He continued to kick up a bunch of balloons, while me and another person was trying to take pictures. He even accidentally knocked down his daughter in the process. He was extremely obnoxious and even joked about it with his family members, who just laughed and took videos. Now most of the interactive stuff was bad. It was gross for the most part due to all the germs, dirt, and hair. The balls and balloons all have random dirty smears of brown and orange on them. The ball pit was very dirty. I assume they're not planning on sanitizing any time soon due to the exhibit closing down. Anyways, we go into the light room and the worker says stay in the path and don't the lights. After two minutes, all of a sudden these three kids run in and start going into the lights and grabbing them, she stares and doesn't say a thing to them. These kids are super rowdy so I say something, and then she says oh, yeah don't do that. Pretty useless in my opinion. Most of this stuff is geared towards kids, but my bar was already super low. The inter city event was taking place in another area and I ended up having to walk through another lot to get to it, but it was a nice spacious area for the event, i would have liked more signage to direct me but I recognized someone and that's how I knew where to go. The volunteers all seem to have volunteered multiple times in the past and seem to forget that there might be newbies helping so it seemed like everyone assumed I would just know how everything works. Despite this it was a pretty cool event and I saw so many cactuses and succulents that I never dreamed of and are now on my wish list. I believe they hold this event at the Arboretum yearly so keep your eyes out!

I had never been to the Arboretum before. Arcadia is a bit of a drive for me, but when I saw that…read morethey were having a Plumeria Festival, I decided to make the trip. Upon arriving, my first thought was that I wished I had made a point of visiting much sooner. I had been missing out. We arrived when it opened, and the place was already buzzing with activity. Although it was busy, it never felt crowded. I found a QR code that brought up a map on my phone, which made it easy to navigate the grounds. We started at the Plumeria Festival, where there were plenty of vendors selling plumeria plants and other garden-related items. There was also live music on the main stage and several food trucks. After visiting the festival, we set out to explore the rest of the Arboretum. We saw plenty of wildlife, including peacocks, squirrels, rabbits and even a coyote. The walking trails are relatively easy, and there are plenty of benches where you can stop, rest and take in the surroundings. It was a great way to spend the better part of a day, and I will definitely be going back.

They really only have their two main exhibits, one of which is a history of Ontario and the other is about water conservation in Ontario. AC is really strong, clean facility, super nice staff... but honestly there really isn't much to see unless you're a local and really interested in your area's history. I think if they had their art exhibits open, it'd be an easy 5/5 despite being small because it is free.

People seem to just stop in shortly here, with a few people that stuck around longer to really take in the art. You walk in to the security desk and check-in with your location. They only need your zip code and you're free to check out the exhibit. There's about two museum security persons in the exhibit areas They don't really greet you, but they're there. I came in for their Chicana(o) art exhibit as well as their water exhibit. Both were good. They also had a special historical exhibit that features the history of the City of Ontario. That was an okay exhibit. Facility has some nice historical architectural feel. Kind of like some of the art deco styling in the L A. buildings. Parking lot is small, but you can also park on the street. Also just a very close walk the Ontario train station.
