    We were blown away by Bashful Butler's service. They made our 200-person, backyard wedding look so beautiful. Everything ran so smooth. They spent time with us before to plan out everything and they talked through details that we had not even thought of. Staff was attentive, efficient and kind. We got a ton of compliments throughout the night and after. As a bride or party host, you do not have time to worry about the catering details day of and Bashful Butler made it so that I could enjoy my wedding fully. I would absolutely use them again and recommend to a friend.

    We had the Azusa High School class of 1960 60th Class reunion last night that Bashful Butler Catering handled for us. All I can say is WOW, DOUBLE WOW!. Everything from helping us decide on how to decorate, what the buffet would be and putting me in touch with a DJ and others, I couldn't have asked from more. All attendees said the entire evening was EPIC! Best buffet food ever, and the servers were extra attentive to our every request and need. Thankyou Ben, and Donna and her staff. We definitely recommend them for any special event you might have, large or small.

    I used Bashful Butler for my event with 160 guests. The food was tender and tasty Teriyaki chicken with rice and three kinds of salad. Everything was fresh and good quality. It's hard to please everyone when dealing with 160 people but there was no complaints from anyone. Everyone raved about the food and couldn't say enough wonderful things about the food and catering service. Bashful Butler's servers were top notch and went above and beyond good and helpful service. I can't say enough about how helpful Robert was. I would want him at every event I hire Basful Butler to cater. He helped me out with several things at the event. They made sure the tea, coffee, water and lemonade always stayed full. They were prompt at clean up and making sure that everything went well so I could concentrate on my event. Bashful Butler is professional and I recommend their catering service. They were a huge part in making my event a success. I intend on using Bashful Butler for my next event.

    Thank you for your great service... No issue everything ran smoothly. The young lady in charge of the staff was very cordial and polite Hurst Ranch was a great place to have a barn venue wedding grounds are well kept and beautiful never would have thought this was in the middle of West Covina Food was great everybody loved it the roast beef was tasty the chicken was good everything was perfect even the cake was good 9 out of 10 I would say ...thank you again for making my daughter's wedding memorable Only issue is a parking but if you can get over the parking at the ranch then it's all good maybe they can cut a deal with the corner Masons Lodge and you can borrow their parking at a minimal fee just suggestion also personally I would probably get a wedding planner for that day as mother-of-the-bride I was busy trying to make sure everything was running smoothly

    My husband and I first booked this place in 2010 (we like to plan early to get the best deal) and worked with Nancy. Since we decided to have our wedding ceremony and reception at Hurst Ranch, we automatically had to turn to Bashful Butler for all of our catering needs (as they are the sole caterer for Hurst Ranch). Nancy was very friendly and played that caring mother role quite well and made us feel welcomed when we first met her. For our food tasting, it was like the back door food tasting, where we had to go to one of their catered events and pick up our food. Now this is not your typical fancy food tasting where you go to the caterer and they bring out a few dishes for you to sample, but actually better. Why you ask? Well when you pick up your sample plate from an actual event the caterer works, then you would know how the food would actually taste like during your own event. Often times people find that the food at their event does not taste nearly as good as when they had it the first time at their food tasting (thus this tasting style being better). Anyways, we did not like the food we tried and requested to try something else, so Ryan (the person we ended up working with since Nancy was on the path of retirement) set us up with another food tasting. We ended up picking chicken Marsala, tri tip, garlic mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, garden salad and ambrosia salad for our lunch buffet. And on the day of our wedding (we both did not eat much because of our nerves) the food tasted delicious. We also loved the design the cake decorator did for us (I sent Ryan a nice design that I saw on line and wasn't sure if the decorator could recreate it, but he said that he could, so it was a wonderful surprise that our cake looked almost like the photo I sent him). Bashful Butler was pretty flexible, in which I had to add 4 more guests to the guest count 10 days before the wedding (after I had already met with Ryan to finalize everything) and he had no problem adding them. On the day of the wedding, we had a few hiccups, but luckily our banquet manager, Chris, was there to fix those problems quickly. She was so sweet and incredibly accommodating. Especially when my husband and I had a traditional Chinese tea ceremony prior to the wedding ceremony and Chris was able to bring out 30+ cups for us to serve the tea to our families. Chris also made sure that we had hot water and tea bags ready to go when we arrived to the venue 2 hours before our scheduled wedding ceremony time (if I could, I would give Chris 5 stars alone). The pricing Bashful Butler charged was very affordable and Ryan and Nancy worked with our budget. But I do have just a few complaints while working with them. One thing was that we were told that our food would be boxed up (guests are not allowed to have their food boxed up due to health code violation, according to the caterer) and that we could pick it up after the wedding was over. However, the 2nd banquet manager (Chris left an hour before our event was over, which we were told ahead of time and was assigned 2 banquet managers) said he did not see a to go box for us :( (and we were pretty hungry after the wedding too... make sure you eat a good meal before you attend your own wedding and after too). Another thing was that the restroom in the little yellow house (the bride can use the yellow house to get dressed) was not working (fortunately, I had a friend who was able to fix it and save the day for me). Another thing was that in the men's restroom (in reception hall), one of the stalls did not have toilet paper. Lastly, after we had thought we wrote our last check for the wedding, we were contacted by Ryan more than once to pay a 2nd and 3rd final check due to miscalculation. But overall, I still had no big problems working with Bashful Butler and wouldn't mind working with them again.

    Where do I even begin.. Teresa from the Bashful Butler was phenomenal to work with!! Beyond pleased with how well my wedding turned out. Teresa made herself available to me via phone,text and email day or night whenever I had a question she was always available to provide answers for me in a timely manner. What more could a Bride ask for, she made my whole experience go smoothly. The food was delicious!!! The cake was to die for .. the entire staff that helped serve at my wedding reception that took place at the covina woman's club was very professional. Annie I hope you get to see this (she was in-charge of the bashful team the day of). Annie did an outstanding job! Everyone left completely happy and hasn't stopped talking about how great my wedding was and how outstanding everyone from the Bashful staff was. Annie catered to my every need with no hesitation made sure everything was going well all night long. I highly recommend the Bashful Butler Teresa and Annie make a great team!!     Great venue for vintage/rustic wedding.. everyone loved the place and our wedding was a hit.. thank u to Annie coordinator the day of our wedding.. she went 150% on making our day there run smooth.. definitely recommend this venue and this catering company. Only thing the communication with the person who did our contract was very limited and took while for responses to questions we had..

    We had our wedding at the Hurst Ranch in West Covina and it was catered by the Bashful Butler. The staff was very professional and helpful especially Annie she went over amd beyond to made sure the everyone was taken care of. All of the food was so delicious we chose bbq as our menu all of our guest loved the food. I would highly recommend hiring the Bashful Butler for future events.

The security staff he assigned the day of were also very kind, welcoming, willing to assist if need be, which made both me and my guests feel comfortable throughout the event. It really added to the overall positive atmosphere. The venue itself is beautiful, modern, clean, and very spacious. It was the perfect setup for our party, and everything flowed so well. The outdoor patio was also such a great bonus, we had tacos set up out there, and it became a fun hangout spot where guests could relax and enjoy themselves. So many of my guests complimented the space and even mentioned they'd love to host their own events here in the future. I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a stylish and well-managed place to host an event!

    UPDATE. We rescheduled our Vow Renewal from May-Dec, which seemed easy enough to do at first when…read morecommunicating with Chris, who was going to be onsite manager for our event. It proved more difficult when dealing with the owner Scott. I'll start by saying the end result was us rescheduling at the same rate that we booked & our event went well, however it wasn't without hiccups. When rescheduling, we were specifically instructed by Scott to cancel our booking in Peerspace & rebook the new date. That's when issues started. Before cancelling I mentioned how Peerspace won't refund our full amount & Scott replied that whatever isn't refunded will be credited toward the new date. That didn't happen without us constantly reaching out via text, email, & Peerspace. When you request a date on Peerspace it's pending review/approval from Blush, however it charges you immediately. Since we opted for the payment plan that required about half down & remainder later, we were waiting on our refund to book the new date. It never came. When we were finally able to have a phone call with Scott, I couldn't get one word in the entire time he was mansplaining the world of business. He was very patronizing & I swallowed my pride because we just wanted a resolve & to not lose the deposit. I asked very clearly whether he was going to uphold our agreement. He did, but under the condition that we pay the remainder of our balance upfront in good faith to them. We did & that was that. Thereafter, it was back & forth whether Chris would still be working our event which Scott said he was. Chris was the saving grace of Blush in our opinion. Customer service & how you treat people is king, so it put our hearts at ease. But not for long, since it was changed later to Jin. Getting Jin to respond was difficult. We requested a final walk through with our coordinator about a month before our event. Jin told us he wasn't feeling well & wasn't present for most of the walk through. So we asked questions via email instead. I specifically mentioned a clean facility is important to us. The place just wasn't as polished as we first saw it. He was responsive only after I'd send text follow ups. The week of, not at all. I was waiting on confirmation about our drink selection which I never got & we just hoped it would all work out the day of. Day of our coordinator arrived first. The bathrooms were clean but the bar, cocktail tables, mirror hallway, & front door were full of fingerprints and sticky as if not cleaned from a previous event. We were told there would be 2 staff & that they'd be able to help us move cocktail tables. We weren't aware one of those people would be Jin & he wasn't helpful at all. He completely ignored our coordinator & aunt, but jumped to help our DJ with the sound system. We can only conclude it's because our DJ is a man & as a same sex female couple that leaves such a bad taste in our mouths. Our coordinator & aunt ended up cleaning everything with the one rag & spray bottle he gave after we repeated asked. Coordinator, wife, son, & I moved the heavy tables/ottomans. The drinks didn't taste like our selections. But the worst part was that he started charging our guests upon arrival. My wife & I stepped away to change our clothes. We were there 1.5hrs before start time & Jin never approached us or our coordinator for our card. He also had our itinerary ahead of time and met our coordinator. FYI on top of booking fees, you're also required to use their bar service for ALL drinks alcohol/nonalcohol which is included info on Peerspace. We agreed we'd cover the required minimum of $2500 & once we reached that amount it would turn into a cash bar. Our guests approached us confused about the bar so my wife personally went to Jin & asked why people were being charged, to which he responded "I couldn't find you guys." They immediately include their tip, which we weren't aware of, so drinks totaled to about $2100 w/ the remainder being tax/tip. They continuously ran out of cups & had zero cups for the water dispensers. We were refilling used water bottles to give to the kids. My aunt & cousin were busing tables. Bartenders didn't care to stay quiet or hold drink orders during vows. Every video we have of our vows is them shaking drinks & slamming glassware. There were good things too, kinda. It wasn't communicated to us that the front bathroom was for staff only & we had a outfit change planned, so after first saying no, Jin ended up letting my wife & I use the front bathroom. Also him assisting our DJ resulted in the music going well. It's sadly overshadowed by all the other things that needed improvement. It comes down to a lack of customer service & professional decorum, because the venue itself is beautiful. We gave a final 3 STARS because everything came together. Those missing components are just so vital. A work day for them is literally someone else's most important day that they're choosing and paying to celebrate at Blush.
