I come from Voodoo Donut country, whose donuts are nationally known for being uniquely decorated and come in a myriad of flavors-Hurts is better and cheaper. A large selection of donuts and really good shakes, but they aren't made fresh very often and these donuts always give me diarrhea.

The absolute worst Hurts Donuts you could go to. If it were possible to have applied 0 stars I would have. You'd get a star if you even provided a service. I stead I got the run around. No other Hurts I've been to have this issue. I'd add a pic but I don't have anything to take a picture of. First called to check if the had a product. They did not so I asked when it would be made so I could plan on going in around said time. They told me they were made in the morning. I go in around 9:30am to find they didn't even make them. So I asked the person in the location when they would be made. They told me the night crew makes them. So later that night I called around 7:30pm to be told that the morning crew makes them. So I had placed an order for them to be made the next morning online so it would be known that they should make some. Go in the next morning around 9am to again find no cinnamon rolls. The manager had corrected the situation by making some and charging me which was fine because at this point I just wanted a cinnamon roll. Fast forward two weeks, I call in yesterday morning asking for some to be made for 8:30am pick-up for the next day. Go in, to AGAIN find out they did not make them. I don't understand how hard it is to take an order and fulfill it. read more

I've been looking forward to this opening for months, ever since my sister-in-law sang the praises of their Springfield, MO location. We finally found ourselves in Lincoln over the weekend, and although I was worried they wouldn't be open when we were passing through (6am), fear not, they are a 24/7 establishment! (I imagine this will be a very popular place among the college crowd during the school year). The shop itself is fun and bright, with an energetic staff. There are tons of options, a few traditional donuts, but mostly specialty with creative toppings a la the specialty cupcake craze. Many are topped with favorite childhood cereals, others have a cheesecake filling, maple bacon bars, etc., etc. -- there's something for everyone. We opted for an oreo cheesecake and a salted caramel chocolate. Of course the toppings help it taste fantastic, but I was impressed with the tastiness and freshness of the actual donut itself as well. They're pricier than regular donuts but they should be, and are worth it every once in a while. There's a full cooler of drinks, including many milk choices, and drip coffee available, plus tons of seating inside. A great addition to downtown Lincoln! read more

I personally found nothing fantastic about Hurts Donuts. However I am sure for other people they are fantastic. I like LaMars much better. The location of Hurts Donuts is only for the bar crowd or for anyone who lives or works downtown. Not worth a special trip just to find parking to get a donut at Hurts donuts. I will continue to do my business at LaMars. Parking is convenient and the donuts are excellent at LaMars. read more

I was hoping to give a good review and that Hurt's would be comparable to VooDoo Donuts in Denver, but after 2 visits this week I can't recommend Hurt's as any better than donuts you can get anywhere else in Lincoln. It also appears they hold their donuts over from the day before. The big cinnamon rolls look impressive in the counter, but they are very dry and the frosting is hard like an old donut. Disappointing indeed. Try the Donut Hole or Lamars Donuts until Lincoln gets a better option for great Donuts. VooDoo, are you listening?!! :) read more

Sorry, I'm still a LaMars gal. These are just not what I had expected from all the hype. Who puts cloves, nutmeg, or allspice in white birthday cake? The cake donuts are dense and while I like the crispy part of the exterior I could not eat a whole one of those, way too heavy for me. The Cookie Monster was the "best" of the six we sampled, but it's really just a plain donut with cookie crumbs. So for my my money, I'll stick with LaMars where the long johns are worth $2 not smaller than the regular donuts. read more

Terrible experience, this place is way over hyped and did not live up to the prices ($2 for a donut). Most of the donuts are some extravagent concoction, but the flavors are not there, just more sugar on sugar. Plus the the customer service is terrible. I came in to order a half dozen and the incompetent employee got 2 of my donuts wrong!!! That is unacceptable. I order a Peanut Butter Oreo and get Cookies and Creme and order an Apple Pie and get the Caramel Apple. Very frustrating to say the least. Plus the toppings on all of the donuts were very stale. The Fruit Loops tasted like they'd been out of a box for a month and the Oreos were just as bad. I will not be back. read more
