Very responsive to our inquiry. Dan came out on a Sunday morning and did a great job repairing the gate in our fence. Recommended!

They also communicated every step of the way! Alex was the lead project manager, both times, and is friendly and professional. Zsolt was the lead painter and did a phenomenal job with my space; going above and beyond with attention to detail and making the wall repairs look as though they never needed repairing. Forrest completed some handy work for me, adding the finishing touches to my freshly painted project and allowing for me to love the final product even more! I may have found a lifelong partnership with this paint and carpentry business. Thank you, PP&R, for your consistency, professionalism, and dedication to keeping pricing affordable for the quality of work produced. Until next time.

They scheduled and performed warranty work without question and in a timely manner. New work included outstanding carpentry work (in our 110+ year old house), painting the entire external house, painting new windows to match old windows and the like. never had an issue with cleanup afterwards. Estimates are very close to actual costs and scheduling holds except of course when weather interrupts. The whole team from estimates to scheduling to execution are a pleasure to work with. Excellent communication too. people walking by our house always comment on their work as it looks great!

We are very new to the process of doing renovations - for a long time we lived with what had been…read moredone to our house before we moved in - partly because it was in good shape, and partly because we had heard horror stories about the way things could go wrong with contractors. Finally arriving at a place in our lives to be able to do some things we've always wanted to do, I collected estimates for a bathroom remodel. Mike was the only one to come out to the house and look over the entire picture when he heard that there were some unknown plumbing issues. Another estimate was from a firm with many good reviews, but which was more of a cookie cutter approach to remodels - limited selections and clear limits on the work that they would do, versus requiring us to get other contractor assistance to complete. A third was not in a competitive position, although again, they had strong reviews. After our initial discussions, I asked for a confirmation / update to their original estimates, using a sort of modified set of use cases - describing our intended uses for the bathroom and what constituted a successful remodel from that viewpoint. Two of the three responded there - one hopeful that they would be able to meet our criteria - and Mike, who not only responded how he would deal with the specifics, but also updated the estimate to reflect the additional work to ensure our success. His flexibility and speed of answering both convinced us to go with Tortoise. We're very glad we did. For one thing, our house is almost 100 years old - lath and plaster walls and everything that goes with that. It requires a contractor with experience working with these places, and Mike has that. Mike was confident we could get what we were looking for done, and he and his team came through in a big way. Also, realizing he was dealing with newbies, he was good about providing reminders once we were on the schedule about finding our materials and getting them ordered to coincide with the scheduled start date of our project. Ultimately we got help from a designer Mike recommended - Galen - who was invaluable both as a consultant on the materials and as a translator between the timing requirements Mike and his team had, and the decisions we needed to make. We ended up adding a few small finishing touches that weren't part of the original estimate, including a significantly upgraded lighting set up, fan control and medicine cabinet, molding around the ceiling - small things that made a big difference in how the finished product looks. The holes that had to be made to address the plumbing issue were also cleaned up and we were still able to keep to the estimate, as some of the materials we chose represented savings over the original estimate. Adam was our primary lead, was consistently positive and upbeat and kept us well informed of what was going on and what to expect - and while we met Anthony, Tyler, Cam and Nate, we never had to know who was doing what or when. Everything was managed smoothly. We have other projects planned in the future - and we will be working with Tortoise again.

He took the time to listen as to what my concerns and requests were regarding the work and provided a reasonable quote. When the time came for the actual fence repair his team was respectful, efficient, seemed knowledgeable, timely and cleaned up after themselves. And left me with a beautiful new fence! Would definitely recommend them for consideration for future work.
