The install took about 4 hours (on a very hot day) I am so very pleased with both the product and the company.

Since it is a large deck on a on a slope, we knew it was not something we could do ourselves. After listening to our hopes and ideas, they developed a couple concepts for us to consider before we settled on a plan. After we agreed on the concept Victor and John came and gave us their appraisal and bid in a very timely manner. Although they had other projects before us, they began gathering materials and doing the new foundations for the new deck in early November. Although cost does enter the picture, they were fair in their understanding of our goals and needs and stayed on our agreed upon budget. Their requests for a deposit and funds along the way were reasonable. When we needed an additional week for the funds to come into our accounts as additional materials were ordered and delivered, they understood and continued the work. It was easy to communicate with them through person to person, phone calls, e-mails and/or texts. We decided to go with the Rocky Harbor Trex design and watched each day as the project progressed until it was done. Even with the November winds and rain, they showed up and worked throughout each day. Their work ethic and skills are second to none! When it was done, the new deck exceeded our expectations not only for the design, but also the stability, their professionalism, keeping us informed throughout the process, and their understanding of the many questions we had along the way. The photos below show the end product that we are looking forward to using more in the coming days. A definite 5 Star Review and recommendation!

When I bought my house the builder didn't complete the deck rail and it was a safety issue, so Victor came and completed the work and added a bonus rail! He was great at collaboration around the design and problem-solving issues, both in advance and in the moment. We wanted a covered deck and we didn't want to lose the southern light in the kitchen. Eric recommended a Renaissance Acrylic Roof System which is one the sturdiest and most attractive clear roof systems. Additionally it cuts down heat and UV rays by 30% so we don't suffer a "greenhouse effect" while sitting on our deck. The workers were very technically skilled, respectful of the property, and problem-solved issues on the spot. We had some issues with delays due to the city's slow, confused response to permitting and an ice storm - but through it all I was reassured by Eric and his competent communication. Our deck is now our favorite "room" in our house. It was a wonderful and relaxing way to see our friends and family while trying to adhere to safety protocols during the pandemic. I could not more strongly recommend that you choose Archadeck of West Portland for your deck or patio project.

Based on the reviews, we had Creative Fences & Decks come out and give us a quote. From that initial consultation we were very impressed. Michael came out and spent at least 1.5 hours with us as we explained our ideas, gave us advice on what would look best for our space, and drafted the final design. This included an itemized quote for various different options before he left. We never felt pressured on time and really felt like he was invested in identifying what our best options were. We went with Ipe wood as we felt it would look the best with our wooded backyard setting and were extremely happy. The project was on the expensive side; however, based on how much time we plan to spend outside, and the quality of the materials and work, it was worth it. George did the actual work on the deck and he was very friendly and professional, and did a great job removing all the scrap pieces (including nails) after completion. We would definitely recommend this company, and the specific team that we worked with, to anyone in the area.

Constantine and Ion had to do a bit of problem solving to replace the broken sections. As a seamstress, I know it's harder to do a repair than to start fresh. The young men who installed it were professional, well mannered, and friendly. It was installed right on time. They tidied up, raked over the soil and left the grounds perfect.

The entire experience was horrible. The finished fence isn't terrible…read more I am particular about the wood used so I had the salesman bring me samples of the two thicknesses they offer. The thicker one was rough sawn on one side which I didn't like, he said if I wanted it smooth on both sides, use the thinner board, so I chose those. I signed the contract and then never got an email or call even saying they acknowledged I had signed. I thought that was odd, so I had to call them to verify they got it. Day 1- Start time 8-9. Showed up at 8:15 The lead installer walked the job and saw the post-it note on his paperwork that said "One Day" and he had a fit. Was visibly upset and called his office. They had told me it was a three-day job, so I am not sure why they put everyone through this emotional nightmare at the start of a job? He then said they forgot the jackhammer, left at 8:30 and got back at 10:00. Tore down existing fence. Took off existing lock to reuse and put the lock and screws in the dirt of one of my planters. We talked about the boards for the fence and the company does not carry any smooth on both sides boards like the ones I was told I would have (and that I had a sample of). Day 2- Start time 8-9. Called at 7:30 said going to another job first, will be here after 1:00. I called corporate and asked why they weren't at my job and why they didn't have the boards I was bid on? The CEO said if they don't carry the boards I was shown, they just wouldn't finish the job. WHAT??? My biggest nightmare, the old fence is down and they are walking off the job. I was thinking I would go pick up the boards locally or pay the difference for them to purchase some. Nope, he didn't even want to talk about any solutions. I was beyond distraught at this point. The local branch did eventually go through their stock and try to find the smoothest boards they had and did say they would finish the job, but at this point I pretty much despise this company and what they have put me through thus far. Day 3- Dig out existing cement plugs- put dirt all over my flagstone patio. Cut wood on flagstone patio, sawdust everywhere- in beds, in grout, on plants, in the mulch, etc.. The driveway is 5 steps away and would have been better for cutting and placing piles of dirt. Putting down a tarp would have been smart as well. I had the drip system all coiled and tied up so there were only three places to avoid stepping, yet they stepped on the drip lines dozens of times, even though they could have been easily avoided. They also stepped on plants in the ground that also could have easily been avoided. Seems like they just didn't care about my property or my gorgeous patio area. I had decided on their metal posts and apparently, the wood rails are not thick enough for these posts, so everywhere a board goes on a metal post, that board sticks out farther than the other boards. It is very obvious on the ends which flair out. They said they would fix it, but it has been over seven weeks now and I have not heard from anyone. He said to give him a couple weeks. So much for the lifetime warranty Day 4- They tried to install my lock and it doesn't fit. So all these guys with all this experience didn't know that a lock that has had the stems cut to fit a 4" post, wont fit on the new 5"post? This left me without a lock over the weekend, an extra four days of worry about a break-in. I am baffled that everyone said my old lock would be fine. In the photos you can see where the boards flair out at the end of the fence, that every rail is cracked where the screws are (not sure if this is normal?), the pilot screws they put in the trellis but did not remove them or take them out and put the regular bolt in the same place, etc....
