Their bagels are fabulous as is their lox. For those, like me, who can unhinge their jaw for an authentic pastrami or corned beef masterpiece. Go with the "Ding sized" sandwich. They'll make a smaller Seattle sized version as well for those who don't treat deli as an indulgence of rye and meat piled high. I wish they'd add kreplach to the menu (sorry Vance. I know my litany is old!) but I keep discovering new deliciousness here even after being a regular for nearly 4 years since my recovery from a life threatening illness, that I recovered from in part due to making regular stops here during my post surgical recovery. Just today I had the blintzes for the first time with their in house made cherry compote and sour cream. Amazing. Keep up the amazing work!!! My recommendation for newbies. It's counter service, they bring the food (no numbers for tables makes this a bit of a trial and error) . Coffee is self serve and there is a sign saying refills are $2.75.... how un-American.

When I was in preschool we used to get Husky Deli ice cream on Fridays. I got Dollar Mint every time. Now, at 32, I still get a scoop of Dollar Mint every time I'm in town (or sometimes I switch it up and get Coffee Oreo - not sure why no other ice cream company has thought of this amazing combination). Their ice cream is all made in house and it's amazing. If you really want a treat, turn any flavor into a milkshake...wow. And that's only one small section of this neighborhood store. The deli has a fabulous sandwich menu, great salads/sides (my favorite is the red potato salad), and every possible meat and cheese you could ever want sliced fresh. The candy counter has local made chocolates, truffles, candies and espresso. There's an extensive wine selection in the back of the store. And the shelves are lined with all sorts of jars, bottles and cans of any possible local or imported thing you could want. Oh....and they cater! I went to this place as part of an ice cream crawl with a few friends. The place itself I loved a lot. If we were rating the overall experience of the shop this might be #1 but we were rating the ice cream. Here's what we tried: Chocolate - creamiest non custard, richly flavored Vanilla - creamy, subtly flavored and delicious Maple Walnut - This almost tipped my over the edge I loved it. Caramel Pecan Fudge - Very well balanced and tasty Strawberry Grand Marnier - Not cloying, rich but just a little too sweet So, the ice cream is great. The service was really friendly and the value was good. It's cheap for 1 scoop but a little more expensive for 2. I think this edges Peaks for the best value. I apparently love fresh, ultra creamy ice cream so this comes in an achingly close 2nd to Peaks Frozen Custard overall. I don't believe they have the best ice cream in Seattle, but I think it is excellent nonetheless. It's not quite as fresh and creamy as the Peaks Frozen Custard I've had and for me that makes the difference. I got to try the vanilla, chocolate and mocha almond fudge which were all very nice. The sandwiches my friends and I tried here were very good and the service was fast, efficient and friendly. I am not impressed with this west seattle staple. I used to go all the time but lately Ive stayed away because the staff is not very fast or efficient. They seem to spend more time chatting with each other than the customers. The sandwiches are good depending whose making them. They don't all make them the same. I came here to try the ice cream as I was in the business myself for many years back in the Midwest. The ice cream is great! It is creamy and the vanilla and chocolate are really nicely flavored. I think this is the best non frozen custard ice cream I've had in Seattle. (I'm a huge frozen custard fan). I didn't try any of the flavored ice creams which is my customary practice when trying ice cream for the first time but they look delicious and I'll definitely come back to give them a shot. read more

Garlic was quite powerful on this one though, and I almost thought of garlic bread until I remembered bagels are harder to chew on. - My favorite was the rosemary bagel, just like my coworkers. I could taste the herbs clearly on this one; it was aromatic yet a little bitter. It was balanced with the saltiness already present on the bagel. Since I didn't go to their physical location - which looks like quite a walk from Georgetown - I have yet to see the inside of this place. Having some of their bagels makes me wanna go check it out someday!

I'm a huge fan of RootBeer Floats so when I'm feeling nostalgic or need a sugar high SHUG's provides me that fix from a straw..These guys do it legit with proper glass so the Root-beer foam can roll over the top. I mean you're really in ahhh of the image so I take a moment prior to attacking the ice cream and sipping down the liquid portion of my treat. Good to have an amazing place so close to avoid parking cause it's limited. The facility has places to either drink your tasty beverage or eat your scope. For the ice cream you have some amazing flavors that rotate so it's a mystery of what you'll order. And when I say flavors some are not your normal ice cream shop flavors. Staff is very friendly and for my float they packed me more than enough ice cream, scopes for 2 people. Make sure you tip the help or face the wrath of the person behind the scoop. I'm sure you'll enjoy Shug's as much as I do.

Very cute little ice-cream bar with outside seating. There were two servers one totally ignored the…read morecustomers and the other though very polite was sooo slow. It felt like ages waiting to order a couple of malts. A third server arrived and he had EarPods on which I found unprofessional. The malts tasted more like milkshakes but still tasted good. Wouldn't be in a rush to return.

Recently tried this place for the first time and sad I haven't gone here earlier! Ordered through…read moredrive-thru but didn't realize there was walk-up window too. I agree with the other reviews- it's close to In-and-Out! I ordered a single deluxe cheeseburger, single original cheeseburger and fries plus side of pick-quick sauce and ranch. To me, this tastes better than In-and-Out, especially the fries- still kinda bland but better! Service was good, I was pleasantly surprised that I was asked if I wanted fresh or grilled onions on my burger, I opted for grilled. Burgers were warm, just y and tasty! Will for sure go back & try a hot dog and ice cream!

Never going again…read more Random items in bag, not what we ordered at all then they just threw fries into the bag without packaging them. Yet the receipt stapled to the bag cleared itemized what we did order. Believe it ior not, this wasn't the first time this happened, but it will be the last!
