This Subway store is roughly a five-minute drive from where I live. It used to be a Quiznos. Ever…read moresince it became a Subway (I say Scrubway these days, thanks to Jennifer P., who has likely trademarked it by now), I haven't set foot in this store that's next to Dairy Queen. You are probably asking, "But, Mary. You have food photos from Subway. You don't do delivery. How is that possible?" Two words: my dad. I am far from being a Subway regular. I am more a fan of Mr Sub, Quiznos, and Jersey Mike's. Yesterday, my dad was at Subway to grab lunch for himself and my mom, and decided to get me some food, too. He dropped it off at my door. So, technically, he was my surprise delivery person with a surprise lunch. I had to frankly guess what he got me. I am guessing that it was steak and cheese. The steak was chopped up, so it wouldn't have been roast beef that would likely be slices. Then again, I hadn't been to Subway for over a decade, so things could have changed. I also tasted mozzarella cheese. I felt like I was doing a blind tasting. I am happy to report that I didn't get olives in my sub. My dad used to ask for olives and they are not my thing. I used to pick them out, but I got so sick of seeing so many of them that I'd simply say no to the whole thing. The sub was good. It was on multi-grain bread. Since I ate it practically immediately after he brought it to me, it was yummy and was still warm. The veggies (onions, lettuce, and tomatoes) were fresh and yummy. I wish that there were more of them to supply more of a crunch, such as green peppers and cucumbers. My dad isn't a veggie lover and it was reflected in my sandwich. I really can't complain. It was a nice, thoughtful gesture. More importantly, it was free food... haha! He also got me a chocolate chip cookie. Yesterday was National Chocolate Chip Cookie (I don't know who comes up with these days, but I'll take it) and it was as if my dad knew that I needed a cookie. I loved it. It was crispy and chewy. I was pleasantly surprised at how decent the food was. Maybe I'll need to finally drop by this store and check out their salads. I'd also get a cookie. That chocolate chip cookie was delicious and I want more. (281)

Maybe someone that was handling it didn't wash off the soap on their hands? Not sure but was not edible. The eggs Benedict eggs could be a little more runny. But their sausage is the absolute best. I remember passing by Bunchberry Diner a few months back. I had never been there. It was time to check it out. This diner used to be Mercury Diner. It's nice that the diner tradition continues here. There was plenty of parking when I got here at 3 pm. I backed into a parking spot and walked in. I was immediately greeted by a female staffer. She asked if I was picking up takeout. Nope, I wanted the dine-in experience. She led me to a booth, which was comfortable. There were so many items on the menu that I wanted to try. This place serves breakfast till 4 pm. My server was Parmida, who was sweet and competent. I ordered these items: - Chef's morning breakfast - Diet Coke The Diet Coke was fizzy and cold. I got drink refills. It was perfect. For the chef's morning breakfast, I got my eggs over-easy. I chose sausage links and whole wheat toast. It came with home fries. I got peanut butter, jelly, and jam in preparation for my meal. It didn't take long for my food to arrive. The weird thing was that this table did not have any ketchup, but all tables around me had a bottle. I had to wait a bit for Parmida to return, so I could ask for ketchup. She apologized. She told me that she normally doesn't work this side of the diner. She immediately went to fetch a bottle of French's ketchup. Yep, this diner supports Canadian. I loved my over-easy eggs. I got three perfectly runny eggs. I smeared raspberry jam on my toast and sopped up the yolky goodness with it. I got three sausage links. They were yummy. I liked having them with ketchup. The home fries were the perfect portion. They were crispy and delicious, especially with ketchup. Prices are decent here for the portions that you get. My meal was $20 after taxes. You have the option of paying with a QR code on the bill or using the payment machine. I went with the latter and tipped with my credit card. I used the washroom before I left. It's on the right side of the eatery when you walk in. It was clean. No issues. I saw the dessert display before I left. This section was closed for dining. However, I am so glad I ordered it. It is well beyond worth the price! It's your regular meatball With added pepperoni With their new mozzarella cheese With Parmesan cheese and then it's recommended toasted. Wowowoweeee! Amazingly tasty! When he was done then we asked if it was ours and he said no. We asked about our order and he said there was no outstanding order. If something comes in the system would alert him. He was actually angry at us for asking about the order. Then we noticed a bag of completed order in the bag and asked him to check. Then he exclaims there is the order. Again, angry at us why we didn't magically know that was ours. It's a standard subway in terms of decor and quality. Will be last time for us.

This A&W is understaffed imo…read more The worker at the front of the house that I asked my orders from was nice enough but you could tell that they were slammed for orders. I find that the root beer quality is highly inconsistent depending on the franchise location. For example, the Sheppard and Birchmount A&W location has some of the best root beer in the GTA. They serve you the root beer in CHILLED glasses and the root beer is also very fizzy. Perhaps it was because this A&W is part of the food court? The burger patties could've also been hotter when biting into them. I must echo what one other reviewer said about the temperature. Also, while the sides tasted good, the sweet potato fries should've been in the fryer longer (a lot of them were limp and not crispy). The onion rings were also not battered well. The coating was basically flaking off of each piece when I picked them up. I'm still gonna come back to this A&W for the $2 mobile app order (teen/mozza burgers) on Maple Leaf game days, but if I was really craving A&W it wouldn't be at this location.

Restaurants like this, the fried chicken and sides are going to be consistent like other Popeye restaurants. This places gets marks for running a tight operation. It's quick to deliver food to customers after ordering. Where it fails though is on handling large orders. My order is a 16 piece chicken with 3 sides plus 8 biscuits. They told me my meal will take 15 to 17 mins and it came 25 mins later. Not only that, I realized they didn't put in an additional order of chicken nuggets in my initial order , so I had to go back to order it again but they were nice enough to let me skip the line up. Besides my large order being delayed, they actually do a pretty good job putting together the smaller orders. So, if your order is small, it's going to be a breeze in ordering your food. Family size combo... Prepared to wait almost 30 mins. I thought of calling in beforehand but I don't think the online coupons work when you order via phone. Here is a tip: if you are ordering food from here be sure to check out its online website for an online coupon. I was able to get a free large side with my 16 combo meal.
