Everyone was laid back, some costumed some not, and there was plenty of good cider to be had. I hope this year was a success - to improve a little for next year I suggest a few more people at the cider sales, a few more sideshows (make it easier to find out how to volunteer/set up a booth- I'd be interested), and maybe some carnival treats (we had cotton candy, and apple bobbing - how bout caramel apples or some traditional meat on a stick?) I was totally awed by the fantastic display of materials and finished projects. Some of the most beautiful cottons & wools. Colorful! Elegant! Eye catching. I repeatedly tried explaining that I was not trying to get inside and was actually trying to leave, but she refused to listen. Instead, she aggressively stopped me, physically pushed and manhandled me, called me names, and genuinely seemed like she wanted to fight me. Her behavior was completely unnecessary, unprofessional, and honestly shocking for someone who is supposed to provide security. Some people take their jobs way too seriously and clearly have no idea how to treat paying customers with basic respect. This was by far one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a club, and I will never step foot in this place again.

If you are like us in that sense, the loyalty scheme is good value. There are two reasons we are not fans of their coffee shop: first, they have one of those "dark pattern" card payment devices. It makes it very hard when you are paying to leave no tip. You have to keep hitting the damn "no tip" part of the screen over and over for it to work. You should know that this is a deliberate choice on the part of the management. When they buy the card readers, they can choose ones that make it hard for someone NOT to leave a tip. It's a dark pattern you can investigate on YouTube. And it's a really evil thing to do. Shame on the sleazy manager who made that decision! It should be illegal and they should be punished. Second, and this is a problem going back YEARS, if you get a hot drink, it is very likely it will be super hot, like nuclear hot, practically burning through the cup. It will be at least twenty minutes before it's a safe temperature to drink. You think I'm kidding? I'm not, and you've been warned. PLUR, baby! Bonus complaint: My God in heaven, they interrupt with harsh and seemingly unnecessary messages for staff over the loudspeaker very, very often. I know it's not a library, but it is a bookstore. And people are trying to engage with books. Shhhhhut up, already!

So I approached the older man upstairs. He finally exclaimed, "Ohhhh, the rest of these are being retained for a class, so what I can do is order for pickup for you." I appreciated the kind service, but I had to head back home to the southeastern part of the state soon. It's two stories and quite spacious even with many others shopping. The cafe towards the back was super loud. This is a nice location in what is referred to as Uptown Albuquerque, NM, at the Coronado Center Mall.
