As much as I'd like to try out the pool again, it's a long drive for me to show up only to find that the posted schedule online doesn't always match what you might find in person. Also, charging non-residents more than Lodi residents just feels xenophobic, mirroring Lodi's insular reputation already. Needs to be renovated. Too many malfunctions. Air went out. So hot in there. Isles are also soooo close you can barely get up.

Great place for a concert! Drove an over an hour to see Femme's of Rock and it was so easy to get to and parking was right there.

Amazing venue with the upmost lack of professionalism. Don't recommend at all unless you want security disrespectfully turning on the lights and stopping the music half an hour before your agreed end time. Oh, and don't ask for an explanation or try to reason because they'll call Lodi PD rather than communicating or explaining their actions! Read other reviews because it's definitely a pattern. This review applies to the Charlene Powers Lange Theatre. We have been there for three shows. Parking **** There are a couple of parking lots plus street parking; however, it has been our experience that there is not enough parking to accommodate a sold out show or a show and another event being held at Hutchins Street Square. Theatre access **** Theatre access is not exactly straight forward. It requires that you walk down a hallway and enter the theatre from the side instead of the back. Seating **** The seats are reasonably wide and comfortable; however, if you have a middle seat, you will need to climb over a half a dozen people to reach your seat. Sound/acoustics **** The sound system and theatre acoustics are very good; however, more than once a musician's solo started in silence while the person running the sound adjusted the volume. Organization staff and Security * This is the reason that this is a two star review. It should be obvious to the people in charge that if you do not open the doors to the theatre until 15 minutes before that show is scheduled to start, you will not be able to start the show on time. Not to mention that you have a bunch of people standing around wondering what is going on. Secondly, where is security? I came to watch a show not the backsides of people who think they can dance. In most venues, security swoops in and moves dancers to a location where they can dance and not interfere with the show. These experiences will influence my decision to return to the Charlene Powers Lange Theatre. read more

We were extremely excited to have book this venue for our wedding! We had agreed to end party at midnight. At 11 PM the security turned on the lights and told DJ to stop playing music. When we asked for explanation, they proceeded to call Lodi PD on us. Worst experience we have ever had at any event. Don't use them! read more

I recently saw the musical Menopause at the Charlene Lange theater and I was impressed that such a beautiful theater lies right in the heart of Lodi. The theater was spacious, the seats were comfy, and the decor made the building feel comfortable. The grounds of Hutchins Street Square are so nicely kept and the building itself is beautiful. I have attended numerous events at HSS and I am always impressed with the facility itself. Parking is not an issue as there is a large lot and many parking spaces surrounding the building. Overall, a great place to hold an event or attend a show in the theater. read more

Went with my mom to see Les Miserables. Sound quality was great & the seats were comfy. My only small point of contention was the ease of viewing. We sat relatively close to the stage, so the speakers' placement directly on the stage occasionally got in my line of vision. Overall, I was really impressed with this venue. Not to mention that it brought back a lot of great memories since my then-boyfriend & current hubby took me to my senior prom here! :) read more

I've been to a couple of shows at this theatre, and enjoyed them. Seating, at least in the sections I sat in were somewhat cramped. The place has good acoustics, and a nice layout. I would return for another show. read more

we had our daughter's first birthday party at the Krist hall. The party was amazing but the manager kept bugging us thru out the party about our guest were using hallway bathroom. We were asked over and over again to leave our event and escort them back, mind you this was never communicated prior. we had events there before and decorators worked their before, using the hallway bathrooms was never a problem in the past. It was so frustrating. The music has to be stopped at 11:30 on the dot or COPS WILL BE CALLED AMD WILL ARRIVE AT 11:35. The manager also called us once we cleaned out everything thing telling us we will not get our Deposit back because our decorators were cleaning up without us and we have sign it off when our decorators were the once to sign in without us. Other than that out decorations were great, food was great and had an amazing night but I would NOT rent that place again. :( read more

I came here on a Sunday for a bridal showcase event. And to let you know, I had my prom here 6 years ago and I'm very impressed with how they have maintained this place the way I remembered it. This is an awesome venue for weddings, proms, and any special event. A very nice entrance to the hall and great location in Lodi. I estimate the hall could fit 200+ people and the restrooms are very clean. Definitely book early if you plan to rent out the hall for a special event. read more

A great place for a wedding. The quad is bigger enough for cocktail hour and appetizers. The hall have white curtains, round tables and nice chairs. Attended a friend's wedding and was awed! can't wait to come back for another wedding! read more

Booked for my daughters wedding day 7/14/18 which temps when it was almost 100 degrees. We had 150 guests in attendance and no AC in our Hall. The rest of the building and halls were completely cool with blasting AC but our Hall had no AC the entire time. My Son in Law wore his dress blues and was absolutely dying trying to enjoy himself dancing with his beautiful bride. We had to pass out paper plates to guests to try and stay cool and step off the dance floor every few min and get cool air in the hallways. Guests left early because the heat was just getting to them and not bearable for the elderly. This was supposed to be the most amazing night of my daughters night and we were embarrassed having to continue to explain the AC was broken. Staff was completely rude about the situation and would not even compensate us at all. They even had the nerve to charge us 100 for a damaged ceiling tile from a champagne bottle and 100 for not taking trash to the dumpster which we had no idea we needed to do. No customer care, especially for our people serving our country! read more

I was told about the Hutchens Street pool by a friend. I have some disabilities and was needing a warm water pool to be able to walk in and do some exercise in. I went to see if the pool would work. I was so very happy to meet with Kim the pool coordinator and she gave me the pool schedule and told me to come from 9:30-10:30 am would be the perfect time for me to use the pool. I bought my ticket, $40.00. Went and purchased a swim suit and started my first visit to the pool. It was wonderful, the water was perfect, it felt so good to be out of pain for thae time in the water. Then the hammer came down. My second visit I was ask to leave the pool after only being in there for 20 minutes. Then the young lady told me it would always be that way because she had another jib to go to. I told her I was driving from Galt to come ther and to only be allowed that short time in the pool would not work. Long story shirt, I requested my money back and was refused. I contacted the person over the coordinator, he assured me that this was wrong and I would not have that problem again. I went the next day and was ask to get out of the pool at 10:00 am. I had only been in there 15 minutes. Again, I ask for a refund. They denied they were asking me to leave, they would not give me a time I could come, and they would not refund my momey. I was so very dissapointed that this happened. I needed to be there for health purposes and I cant tell you how happy I was to find the pool and how much of a dissapointment it was to not be able to use it. They advertize the pool to be open from 9:30-10:30 am for Seniors/disabled, but do not believe this. They will ask you to leave. Even Mike, the supervisor will not abide by their schedule and will not refund your momey. So very sad because they have a beautiful pool that could so benifit those who are disababled and need the warm water pool. I had told my doctor about it so he could tell others, but had to tell him after these incidencese not to refer others as they really dont want you to come. The coordinator had stated she didnt want to advertize the pool because she felt she already spent her life ther and the supervisor said its because they are understaffed. Who know........not be.......but so very dissapointed and also ripped off. read more

The fact that Hutchins Street Square was Lodi's first High School in 1913 is pretty cool. They still have a swimming pool from what used to be the school gym on the second floor. We DJ'd there at Kirst Hall back in August from the second floor balcony looking down on the dance floor so we got to see the pool LOL. Very nice hall though, we're looking forward to DJing there again someday in the near future! read more

Purchased tickets for my two granddaughters and myself for the Popovich Comedy Pet Theater Tuesday Oct.23rd. As we entered our tickets were scanned and we were seated. While waiting for the show to begin an usher approached me and asked if I had tickets as the "Stage Director" was accusing us of sneaking in from the ballet group and not having tickets. I was asked, while surrounded by an audience and my granddaughters, to produce said tickets. Of course I had my tickets and gave them to the usher. Row S, Seats 107,108 and 109. This was humiliating to me and upsetting to my granddaughters. The strangers around me commented that they knew how much I had paid for these tickets and were appalled at how we were treated. It ruined the show for me and made the entire experience embarrassing and demeaning. read more

We had our wedding reception in the Kirst Hall at Hutchins Street Square. Pre-event communication was great between staff and us. We fully communicated with the staff everything that we were going to do at the reception. We did a potluck, a smore's fire pit, and we were going to use the in house sound system to play a MP3 list for the music for the reception, this was all laid out in advance with the staff. During the reception the sound system went out about 1/2 way through the program. The staff were not able to fix it and did not tell our site coordinator that it wasn't going to be fixed till a hour later. Luckily we had a guest that lived across the street that was able to bring a home entertainment center over for the rest of the night. Five days later I stopped in to check on our deposit but also if they were going to do anything about the sound system that we out. The manager didn't even know anything about it and said she would look into it and get back to us. Three days later I called because I didn't hear anything, the manager said she talked to her supervisor and that there is nothing they can do about it. They made a decision about it before even hearing our side of the story. So my wife called them and explained the whole thing to the supervisor, who then said that she would have to think about it. Several days later we again had to call them to follow up, in which the supervisor said that the contract didn't say anything about them providing the sound (even though we have emails back and forth that say that) and that we should almost be billed for the damage to the sound system. If you book here get everything in writing or if anything goes wrong they will stick it to you. read more
