Cashier was so friendly and patient while we looked at the menu. She told us all her favorite items. While we were eating the owner and his wife came to check on us which I loved! They were so friendly and sweet and told us the little back story of this restaurant. Yet another chicken restaurant comes to NWA. They offer chicken (tenders, wings and bone in) catfish and shrimp. Most items are available in regular or spicy (1-4). We had the chicken and waffles, fried chicken, shrimp and catfish. Hush puppies were good and the flavors were all delicious. Walk up service but they bring everything to your table. First time visiting and was open to their suggestion...which was the Chicken Tenders. You can choose your spice level and sides. Wife had #2 and fried pickles. I had # 3 with fried okra and French Fries. The chicken was hot and true to spice level. Next time we will kick up a level of spice and explore the menu. Real flatware...nice touch. We were visiting from Houston and drove past this place one morning so decided to come back and try for dinner after Crystal Bridges and we're not disappointed. Top meal is level 1 tenders either coleslaw. The spice level was nice and the tenders were juicy and piping hot coming out. The bottom meal is the six jumbo wings in original (no spice levels) with "hutchpuppies" and a really good blue cheese dressing. The wings were huge and meaty and had the perfect crispy batter. The "hutchpuppies" were delicious and fluffy with a slightly sweet batter. The guy taking our orders was helpful and friendly and the owner came out to check in and explain they were training but the food came out in a reasonable time and was very fresh and delicious. Hutch's Hot Chicken is a welcome alternative to an overly crowded selection of fast food chicken places. I don't need to remind you of the chicken houses available in the fast food market, it's abundant. So when one stands out, it's worth mentioning. Hutch's Hot Chicken serves Nashville style chicken (and more) which clearly differentiates your taste experience from the alternatives. For those not familiar, Nashville style "hot" refers to the process of flavoring chicken with a spicy oil. The chicken is, coated or perhaps bathed, in the spicy oil and by standard preparation it's not a sauce applied afterwards. Your order comes with the chicken already wet with the spicy oil. Hutch's has 5 different heat levels that you can order. I've been told the Level 1 has really no spice, whereas from my visit I can attest that, at least for my palette, Level 4 brings the heat on in a big way. Level 3, which I also tried, seems to be the heat level you may be familiar with when comparing alternatives. Which is great because that means Hutch's thoughtfully considered their heat scale. Level 3 is the Goldilocks zone. We arrived on a Thursday evening at about 6pm, one table had diners. By my inquiry, their lunch business, I was told, is much more busy. The hostess/order taker Alex was helpful in explaining the menu navigating through their generous options. I ordered four chicken tenders. The tenders are large. I can eat a lot and four, especially with sides, was certainly quite a bit of food. As mentioned, two of the tenders I ordered were heat level 3 and the two others were level 4. The tenders are nicely breaded, not too light or too heavy on the breading, and mine were moist. I'm generally a "bone in" guy and I was glad to see they have the options for either tenders or bone in chicken. The tenders were served on a piece of bread, two tenders per bread slice and a few pickles. With my order I had the choice of two sides. They have standard sides and premium sides. I'll let you review the menu but it was nice to see that mashed potato's and gravy was an option. It's a standard option which other chicken shacks (except KFC) don't offer. Fried sides with fried chicken can be a bit much "fried" so the mashed potato's is a welcome addition. The coleslaw is finely chopped but my preferences really didn't care for it. I like a non creamy style (like KFCs) and the coleslaw here seemed to try to pull off a creamy style which I felt didn't work. Your palette is different and I'm sure there'll be plenty of people who would enjoy it. We also ordered hush puppies which were excellent, not dry, with a good corn taste. The onion rings are standard fare, battered. I recommend the 2oz side of pickles. Pickles temper the Nashville hot oil and provide an acidic balance. Hutch's has metal flatware that is individually wrapped. At first I thought it was just them adding a more upscale touch to fast food but actually you need it. Nashville hot chicken is coated in spicy oil, so it isn't exactly finger food and plastics simply wouldn't stand up or would be inadequate. For drinks there a soda fountain and an iced tea maker for unsweet and sweet. After we were done we looked for a place to throw out our trash and Alex said they do that for you. It was a thoughtful touch Hutch's added but I wonder how well that works during busy times...either way. Hutch's is a chicken shack that offers a popular alternative to other chicken shacks. The food is well prepared offering choices. Their sides menu is thoughtfully created and offers many more choices than its competitors. I'll be going back. read more

I had 3 tenders Level 3 hotness with coleslaw and mashed potatoes which were all a 10/10. The taste of the chicken is very very great with the spice and the flavor had our mouths watering. My wife had the chicken and waffles and fried pickles which were also amazing. From the service to the food this place is the real deal and our top 3 places to dine in around Bentonville. A beautifully ran family owned restaurant who are clearly passionate on what they do here. The cashiers and food runners were very nice and helpful, letting us know what their favs were and what not. Visiting Bentonville and found Hutch's Hot Chicken for lunch with the family and didn't want another chain restaurant. The cashier was extremely helpful, greeted us and was knowledgeable about the menu. I got the chicken sandwich meal at spice level 2 (level was not hot but had some heat) not overkill but just the right amount. Heat level went up to 4 but I was too chicken (insert dad joke) to try it . I ordered the "hutch"puppies as my side and they were amazing! The chicken was breaded perfectly and the meat was juicy. Great flavors and all around tasty As a family of 6 we paid approx $63 for the meal I think which wasn't bad at all. The owner also came out to say hi (nice touch in my opinion). Had lunch here for the 1st time yesterday and it was great! I had the leg 1/4's. Unfortunately I can't do much heat these days but the #2 spice was perfect, a little heat but not to much. Living in Nashville TN the past 30 years I have become a big fan of hot chicken. I have eaten at all the major places in and around Nashville plus at least a dozen smaller places. I was happy to see a hot chicken place open in Bentonville. Hutch's claims ties to Nashville and I believe them. Their hot chicken fingers are spot on. I got the three piece dinner with okra and slaw. Both sides were good. The chicken comes in 4 heat levels. I got one level 3 and two level 4s. The level 3 had a very mild heat and very good flavor. Reminded me of Prince's style. The level 4 was more reminiscent of Hattie Bs chicken in the flavor and coating. It had a good amount of heat and very good flavor. I was a little surprised that the level 4 was not as hot as I expected their "hottest" to be. Don't get me wrong it has quite a kick but from the menu description I expected hotter. I would love to see a level 5 in the future. Maybe similar to the level 4 but with more heat. The woman who took my order was very nice and helpful.
