Great family style restaurant featuring fried chicken and family served side dishes unlimited. Prices are reasonable and the place is comfy and welcoming - with a family dinner feel.

My family has been coming here for over 30 years I haven't been for over 15 so I had to make a stop in. It was just as good if not better than I had remembered. I had a new found appreciation for everything they offer for dinner and loved it all!!! Make sure this is your stop whenever visiting!!!! Shout out to Phoenix our amazing server! And best of luck on your newest adventures to come!

    Fried chicken.....it was pretty dry

Definite middle of the road...... My wife and I went here for lunch yesterday. It is suggested to make reservations, as this place fills up quickly. We were seated promptly, and served the bean soup which was pretty fantastic. Our server Nathan was attentive and on point for our dining experience. Price was pretty reasonable for a bottomless chicken dinner with all the fixins. When you walk in, there is definitely a lot of history inside this establishment...... Main-course wise is a family style chicken dinner, for which you can get more food if you are hungry. Dinner consisted of fried chicken, cole slaw, green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, and home made bread. The food arrived hot, but the chicken was very very dry. Everything needed salt (I prefer it this way, as I can salt my food to taste but you cannot remove too much salt). The bread was hard to cut, as it was very soft and the knife to cut it was in need of sharpening.

My wife and I were in the mood for fried chicken, something better than a chain like KFC. This place gets good reviews so we decided to make the half hour drive to it. Walk in and the booth is tight fit, was able to move my bench seat back for more room. Immediately notice that the larger groups coming in after us are seated and served before we are.. I have never seen a restaurant have as many staff running around but not be able to provide service to us. Waited 10 minutes for service. It was supposed to be a big deal that the food is served "family style", however that doesn't make up for the bland tasting chicken, steamed corn that has no flavor. The kettle of homemade bean soup had no beans in it! It was cool to see all the antique tools on the walls, but the bland food, with slow service we will not be back. Especially with a cost of $47!, should've just went to KFC.

This place is amazing. Its like a Thanksgiving Feast but with Fried Chicken, the Chicken is pretty Spot on and was Fresh an Delicious, out of the sides for me Green Beans were quite mean i had 3 servings of those, you dont order your order your drinks an a few minutes go by they Bring the Feast. Fried Chicken, green beans, mashed Taters, gravy, slaw , corn, Fresh Bread , Butter. You can also add mac n cheese for an extra bit but not really necessary imo. As soon as you finish the side or bread jus request more an your good to go. The Service is Great and your waitress will pass by often to see if you need anything Topped off. Its endless everything. Before your Feast they'll bring a Winnie the Pooh Style honey jar with a Soup an with Crackers its good definitely different. The setting is very Old school with alot of antiques on the wall an decor, has a kind of like ol Grandmas kitchen . I dont leave reviews often but when i do it's because the Place was very Good in my book i was Lucky enough to eat her twice during my stay. I would recommend making reservations but they will most likely be able to accommodate you as long as its not a huge party just randomly popping in. Overall Great Staff, Service, Food Quality an A Hidden Gem Tucked away .

What can I say about Monte Ne Inn chicken. It is the best within at least four states, and right up with the top 10 nationally in my opinion, and that include Paula Deen's The Lady and Sons in Savannah, GA (possibly my #1 but that's a very difficult and complex thing to determine). The restaurant decor at Monte Ne Inn has a lot of antique cooking and everyday farm tools and nostalgic signs, the service is great, and the menu simple -- white meat only or mixed chicken and all the fixings served family style until you are full, then you can add on fresh cobbler w/ ice cream if you've got enough room to handle it! This gem has been operating and excellent for over 50 years!

No signs declare its existence. My wife and I found ourselves there for a meeting with her coworkers, one of whom has been a longtime frequenter of this establishment and recommended it as the site for the group's monthly dinner. She had made the reservation (required, for parties of at least 15) and had also been the one to choose our meal. I'm told the business can accommodate for many different allergies or diets and that they have a wide selection of meats, vegetables/sides, and desserts from which you can take your pick. The dining hall is in a nondescript white building across from the main house. It is far from fancy in keeping with the lifestyle of its proprietors. As in tin-metal walls, concrete floor, and gas-powered lights/heat. Metal folding chairs flank two long rows of folding tables covered in plastic tablecloths; our party of 12 sat in one row with a few seats to spare. The atmosphere is that of having a Sunday supper after church with kinfolk at grandma's. The (rather adorable) children of the (hardworking) women preparing and serving our food played along the borders of the room and ran through the doors, the air ringing with their laughter. Drinks (water or unsweetened tea only) were served as we arrived. Once everyone was present the food came out family-style - one large platter or bowl at a time, passed from one person to another. And now what you've all been waiting for: the food! The coleslaw wasn't very good; then again, I'm not a coleslaw fan and so might not be a good judge of it. The green beans could've come from a can for all the good they tasted. And the roast was dry, tasteless. That's where the negatives end. The baked chicken was tender/moist/juicy, all those words that make some people uncomfortable when talking period, let alone about food. The mashed potatoes were creamy, the white gravy perfectly rich, the country noodles expertly flavored, and the turkey dressing pure cheesy goodness. I can't forget the rolls, too, which when paired with homemade apple butter were the best I've ever had. After a brief rest to digest, we were served one kind of coffee and two kinds of pie - cherry and coconut cream. The cherry pie filling reminded me of a Pop-Tart but more intense, which wasn't a bad thing at all. Typically I don't like even the word coconut unless it's followed by "rum and pineapple juice", but that particular pie was delicious. It may have made me a convert. I haven't mentioned the service, but it was fantastic. Glasses never more than half-empty before being refilled. Constant questions of whether we needed anything else. Smiling faces and good conversation. We ate until we were stuffed and several people took home heaping to-go boxes, yet there was still a ton left of each food item. On the way out I picked up a loaf of banana but bread from the bakery side. The damage to my wallet for all of this? $27.59! Yep. All-you-can-eat comfort food for two in a place that feels like home for under $30. I'm definitely going back. Just as soon as I can round up 10-12 likeminded foodies so I can make a reservation.
