Try it!!! It's really good southern cooking on all the items they do from scratch! Catfish is crazy good grilled! Chicken livers are perfect! We've had oysters and robots and fried catfish and chicken stripe and it's all really really great!!!! All of their proteins they really do a great job on! Not really thrilled about any basic food items that come from a wholesale food distributors like Sysco or Ben E. Keith... I would prefer a hand dipped and breaded cheese stick. Sysco's are at every single restaurant it seems... I was hoping these were homemade. No dice. But they still fried them correctly and they tasted like they do everywhere. And I wish they had a few more healthier side items. They have green beans, but they taste like they are from a can and not seasoned very well. I would love to see collard greens, broccoli salad, carrot salad, broccoli casserole, squash, zucchini, rice casserole, or even a baked potato...I was sad they didn't have baked potatoes. Lol. I mean...there are a LOT of side ideas you can get just from a church potluck cookbook! Lol... That's really my only dig. I'd love more sides that are truly authentic southern sides that you'd see at a southern church potluck dinner. read more

On a weekend getaway and trying to avoid chain restaurants. I f you like heavy Southern comfort food, you will love this place.!

First time I ate at this restaurant. But it was the one in Miami, OK. The selection of southern foods was nice especially the side dishes. I opted for grilled tilapia with red beans and rice for my side. It also came with two grilled shrimp which were delicious. Will certainly recommend this restaurant. read more

This is an old style Arkansas "Highway joint" fried food. Probably most people drive right by. You know that local place you can always depend on for a quick good meal. The staff was welcoming and attentive; service was as should be expected but is often lacking these days. Did not have to ask for anything, including drink refills. FRIES WERE CRISP!!! Yes, fries should be crispy not soggy messes. Hush puppies were also fabulous. Fish, shrimp, and chicken also very good. Burger was a good ole' standard solid fast burger and the bun didn't fall apart. Just a solid menu, with the standard items but sone well. Keep doing it this way and we will be back and bring our friends!! read more

Yum! TLDR - good food! Excellent prices! Had the 3 piece grilled catfish! Perfectly cooked! Fries were fab (they're the coated style), green beans were good and I really liked the little extras on the plate - 1/2 a slice of tomato, a little bit of lettuce, a little bit of sautéed onions/peppers and a pickle. Hush puppies were the ok. Tartar sauce is good - and I like the spicy twist! The highlight of the meal was the freshly fried pies! Delish!! Our waitress, Kristi, was very attentive! Ordered the chicken livers and husband ordered the gizzards. Both came with salad and green beans as our optional sides. The livers and gizzards were large portions!! Both were over cooked and the breading was very salty. The salads were iceberg lettuce with some white onion and cucumber slices and pickles. The green beans came in a small round side and were nicely flavored with some garlic. Staff was very kind and seated us promptly. It was a small space with mirrors and wood so decor wasn't bad. Can't speak for the flavor of the gizzards but the bigger livers that were somewhat tender were good if I took off most of the salty breading. The fried bread was really delish! read more

New restaurant took over. It's a large building, used to be a bar. Decor is bland but new and clean. Lots of southern fish options. Our table ordered burgers and catfish basket. Catfish portion was HEARTY! Fries done well. Burgers were done deliciously! Tasty and not greasy at all. We plan on going back to try more menu items. read more

Main takeaway: Food is great, service is terrible, and the price does not reflect the experience. Long Story: We have dined in at Sam's twice and ordered takeout three times. First dine in experience, just my husband and me, was great. The waitress, who I am assuming is also the manager because she has that "I'm in charge" air (she's also been there every time we've come in), was quick, attentive, friendly, etc. Basically exactly what you want in a server, and she gave us a free dessert since it was our first time dining with them. After this we ordered to go three separate occasions. We have five kids, and Sam's offers a variety of family meal options that are affordable and filling. The meal plan we got all three times is for 25 pieces of a meat, two large sides, four pieces of fried bread, and sauces if you ask (if you ask which we aways do). All three times it has been missing something or something has been wrong. First time there was no bread or sauces, second they only gave us two pieces of bread and again forgot the sauces, third time they gave us the wrong sides. When we mentioned the errors after the first and second to go orders apologies were made but nothing was really done to ensure it didn't happen again. Every time I walked in to pick up an order, whether it was busy or slow, people from tables were walking up asking the staff for things they should have already been given. Today we took all our kids in to dine in, hoping that this time, at least, our food would be correct. Not only did they get our order wrong, again, but service was abysmal. I had to bring my husband's cup up to the cashier to get a refill, the waitresses loitered about, they left us waiting for sauces and plates for 15 minutes only to tell us there weren't any plates left, and tables around us were experiencing similar things from their waitresses. It was ridiculous, and this terrible service continued even after the restaurant became slow. A friendly staff can only get you so far when they don't do their jobs in a rather expensive establishment. It's too bad, because the food is great. read more

Server is clueless she put in the wrong order. So after a bite of this little Po Boy (looks like a wrap not a hoagie) I told her she brought the wrong sandwich. What does she do but charge me for a second sandwich even though I know what I ordered this slug still wanted to argue about it and even brought her dirty plastic menu back to defend her stupidity. Moral of this story, don't be new and ask 3 questions about their menu because not only did this lady not know the menu it confused her so much she GOT MY ORDER WRONG! I ordered a shrimp po boy not a fish sandwich but Sams Southern Eatery calls every sandwich on a roll a po boy. Guess that is what happens when you get fish from a land locked state that has no connection to a real body of water or an education. After realizing I was in Arkansas (just over the border) something made me look up the local town stats and sadly this town has such a super low income on average I feel bad for the people of Siloam Springs AR. However I guess they desperately need the money so much more than me that they have to lie cheat and steal it. So much so they choose poor customer service over being honest and having any integrity at all at Sams Southern Eatery. This is exactly why most restaurants fail in the first 3 years of opening and the exact reason I was 100% against saving any restaurants during covid. These are not essential businesses and most are run by uneducated people like here at Sams Southern Eatery. Deadbeats like Sams usually go out of business in less than 3 years on average per the industry not me especially when doing business like this with a bunch of inept & rude staff. Obviously but sadly the server received a zero tip and a horrible review for being so stupid she can't even confirm an order to simply get it right the first time. We are just talking the basics I mean come on its just the basics of server etiquette 101. To boot this horrific server then tries to not even present a bill as I was informed to simply pay at the register where again I was given just a total amount to pay and no bill or receipt. Shady pathetic and crap on top of the fact that my correct order of a shrimp po boy only had 4 pieces of shrimp. What a let down too there was way more bread than shrimp with about 50/50 of each bite being nothing but bread. So the waitress knows who she is I also told her to keep the fries on the first order and instead ordered a full appetizer of the pickle chips with a sandwich a la carte. Instead I paid for two full sandwiches and got no fries even on the second sandwich yet this woman still charged me full price for her error! Deadbeats at their pinnacle! Side note if you need corn meal in your breading so badly then you have no clue how to actually cook and your fried pickles stink with way too much breading and cornmeal. All bread filling here at Sams to cover up that lack of flavor or quality on everything. Perhaps being from a coastal town and knowing how seafood should taste as well as spending more than $7,000 a year eating out I might just know a thing or two about dining experiences. This experience is flat out the worst of 2025 and will probably remain that way as no restaurant has ever been so pathetic for food and inept service. Stick to the bottom feeders like catfish because that is exactly what you should expect walking in to Sams Southern Eatery. read more

This place is FABULOUS. I moved to Arkansas from North Carolina four years ago and have eaten at many restaurants of various kinds around Fayetteville, Rogers & Bentonville. This is the best place I have ever eaten in Arkansas. read more
