We've used this clinic for all the years we had Star and if we were to ever have another dog I would use this clinic again. The staff is very caring and the veterinarians too. I have been with Hutto Vet for I think over 18 years. However I will NEVER go back and strongly recommend everyone find a new clinic. My son took his cat on Saturday morning as she hadn't been feeling well. After Dr Pratt going through a list of the most dramatic things it could be, he asked for a simple blood panel to start. He was informed that the results would be in on Monday. It was 9:30 am but they couldn't be bothered to get a urine sample at that time because they closed at noon! My son called on Monday but the vet was in surgery. He was assured Dr Pratt would call. She finally called at 8 but couldn't seem to get through. She didn't bother to try again. Another day with no results and lost for possible treatment. He called again Tuesday morning and was given the same run around. Dr Pratt was in surgery but would call as soon as she was free. I called that afternoon to let them know how upset we were! Dr Pratt had just walked into a room with a patient! So let me get this straight...we can left waiting for 2 days but she couldnt be bothered to leave a patient waiting for a few minutes to give us the test result! it's now 6 so we've lost yet another day of treatment IF there's something wrong and Dr Pratt still can't be bothered to call, leaving our pet at risk if somethings wrong!! I have used Hutto Vet for about nine years but I will not going back. I have historically had difficulty getting meds into my large old dog, except for his Heartgard, which he readily eats. I recently asked the vet tech (The large woman is very rude and condescending), if they manufactured a combo heart guard and flea treatment and she said no. I later found out they do manufacture this but the clinic doesn't carry it. I also found out that Hutto Veterminary Clinic will not release a pet's prescription to any other company, like Chewy. This tells me that Hutto Vet is more concerned with making money than the overall health of their patients. I do believe that is a violation of the Veterinan's Hippocractic oath. read more

I've been a client since 2019 with my miniature pincher, I called their office this morning to see if I could pick up some flea and tick medication (like I've done in the past) the Very Rude receptionist told me I had to make and appointment to get a refill, I told her I couldn't afford the medication ($75.00) and an appointment ($50.00), and that the Dr, had done this for me previously this year....she told me too bad, that's the way it is, and refused to let me get my dog flea and tick medication (Bravecto), I am visually impaired and only receive Disability, so I cannot afford very much....but I shouldn't have to pay $125.00 for flee and tick medication !?!? They have lost a customer, and I will Never go back to them again ! I went to another Veterinary Clinic in Hutto today, they sold it to me (Cheaper) and without an appointment ! read more

I always love when I go to a vet an the discussion is about preventative care versus all reactive care. I have two dogs on different the life span spectrum with very different needs and yet both had their needs met with Dr. Mo. Daisy at 14 years and 11 months has significant needs in terms of pain management. Tucker at 14 months gets into everything as an adolescent dog does. I drive all the way from central austin (literally, 3 miles west of the capital) based on the recommendation of a coworker for 2 reasons: 1) the super reasonable prices and 2) the doctors are awesome!! I was taking my dog to vca ben white and while the staff and techs were super awesome, I didn't really care for their doctors that I worked with. Where do I start?? I LOVE HUTTO VET CLINIC!!!! We have 3 sweet girls and they have been so great with all of them! We have had NUMEROUS issues with 1 of our girls. Our dog Kota was in a bad dog fight and had severe wounds. She needed surgery and drain placement. Dr Betsy Pratt & the ENTIRE Hutto Vet Clinic staff has been AMAZING!! They have bent over backwards to accommodate mine and my husbands busy schedules. Dr Betsy Pratt has even come in on her days off to see Kota in her progress of recovery. Dr Holstrom & Blake have also seen her and been quite gentle. The Manager Linda & two vet techs Kaitlyn & Brandy have made us & our dogs feel so welcome and at home. My indoor only cat came in for a teeth cleaning and came home with fleas. The clinic refused to take responsibility. The manager laughed at me when I called to ask them to reimburse me the two hundred dollars it cost me, at which point I admittedly lost my cool. Long story short Hutto Veterinary Clinic almost killed my dog due to negligence and poor knowledge about veterinarian medicine. If you need flea meds or shots or a wellness exam rock your socks off anyone can do that. I took my 12 year old female dog to Hutto Veterinary Clinic. I have owned dogs for over 25 years. Hutto Veterinary Clinic did a blood test and a urine analysis routine. Hutto Veterinary Clinic came up with three possible scenarios to allow for other tests. It was a obvious to me it was diabetes. Hutto Veterinary Clinic checked and the dog had diabetes. Hutto Veterinary Clinic put the dog on vetsulin requiring me to go to them for the meds. Hutto Veterinary Clinic Prescribed 10 ml twice per day after meals. I went back to Hutto Veterinary Clinic a month later so they could do a glucose curve to verify thedog was on the right dosage since the first dosage was a guess by Hutto Veterinary Clinic. The actual veterinarian who saw my dog is only there on Tuesday and Thursday's. I was told all was well by Hutto Veterinary Clinic. The dog got real bad after seeing Hutto Veterinary Clinic. I then called Hutto Veterinary Clinic and told them the dog was the same if not worse than before. I told the nice lady I don't believe the glucose curve Hutto Veterinary Clinic did before was correct and asked if I could bring her in (this was 7am) they had just opened. I was told no that Hutto Veterinary Clinic could and wouldn't see her now. I took her to my real vet...only open Monday - Wednesday walk ins only. They did the glucose curve based on the diagnosis and prescribed dosage given by Hutto Veterinary Clinic. The dog was worse off now than when I originally took her in to see Hutto Veterinary Clinic. He said, "son go to Walmart get you some Novilin N, no prescription needed and giver her 10 ml twice per day." Dog is now doing great. To sum it up don't go to Hutto Veterinary Clinic if you have anything beyond routine maintenance. The staff at Hutto Veterinary Clinic are very nice and make you wait in the car because of Covid . However, being nice and having Covid precautions at Hutto Veterinary Clinic doesn't help the animals at all! read more

I have used this hospital in the past and I came in to simply buy some flea preventative stronger than Frontline. They would not sell me anything because it had been too long since they saw my cats. Really?! This is for fleas,,,people. I regret spending hundreds on surgery in your office in the past. Guess they want some current cash. Nothing wrong with my animals except a few fleas, but you want to see my fleas first?! Who are you kidding!? This was our best experience at a Veterinarian ever. We have three dogs and from the Technician, Kaitlyn Woblruck, who took great care in soothing our very nervous and jittery dogs, we knew we found our new Vet. office. She was great from clipping the nails to just handling them. Our Veterinarian was Dr. Pratt. She diagnosed some conditions we were already aware of and identified other areas of concern to be monitored. She spent time with us discussing each dog, their condition, and their needs. We have had dogs for more than 40 years and this was the most professional, caring and pleasant experiences. I strongly recommend this office to anyone that has a pet as a member of their family. My first visit here and it was very pleasant. My 7lb pup stopped eating and was acting strange like she was in pain. I was able to make an appointment the next day in the morning and the staff and Vet were great. He introduced himself asked several questions about how she's been acting and then assessed her. They were all very informative and provided the necessary meds for her and I was able to easily book a dental cleaning for my pup. The prices are so reasonable from another vet I would go to in Northwest Austin plus this clinic is so much closer now that we moved to Hutto. My oldest dog unexpectedly got worms, called around and no one was taking walk ins. Took a chance and stopped into the Hutto clinic. Even though it was late in the day they were willing to work us in. Everyone was super nice and helpful. The vet techs were great along with the vet who was just wonderful! Stay away!!!! I recently visited there with my dog for the first time and was seen by I assume a burnt out Dr. I believe the name was strnd. Absolutely no personality and no willingness to get to know you or your pet. I felt like at any moment she would scream get out. Very unwelcoming and hardly better than shelter medicine. Actually I have had better experiences with discount clinics and vaccine drives, and that's not to mention the sassy and rude 13 year old they had come get information for bear and his visit. Completely rude and unprofessional, the dr and tech need to seek out a different career as their attitude directly reflects. If you want a "jiffy lube" experience for your pets medical care than come here, but if you want true caring , compassionate "REAL" medicine seek elsewhere . I wouldn't recommend this place for a bordello vaccine. RUN!!!! read more

Our 4 year old, 7 lb little Daschund, Sammy, was cared for and loved on by Dr. Pratt and staff this week during an emergency situation. They helped bring our little guy back to good health and in recovery mode after he presumably ate something poisonous last week, causing constant vomiting and diarrhea. He was very dehydrated and lethargic so IV fluids were given for about 48 hours along with blood work and antibiotics. (Night time he was in the after hours clinic: Emergency Pet Care of Round Rock to continue fluids.) They were all so sensitive to our families needs, considering cost for us and really making things affordable. Dr. Pratt was also so very thorough in explaining every detail along the way. When I came to visit during my lunch break on the first (very stressful-emotional) day, Dr. Pratt brought Sammy into a room for me to visit with him and gave me as much time as I wanted while he was still hooked up to fluids. My husband and I can't tell you enough how grateful, thankful, relieved and blessed we are to have such a caring Vet! Sammy plays such an amazing role in our family and we are so happy to see his tail constantly wagging again! read more

Don't take sick animals here. I'm usually not one to write bad reviews or any reviews at all to be specific, but when you get treated a certain way you must share the news when it has to do with sickness of anybody or anything. We had previously used this vet for both our dog and cat, and thought they were sincere and helpful. We brought our sick cat into them after 5 days of monitoring him at home and taking him to the emergency vet because they could not see us for 3 business days. We called them Monday to let them know we wanted to make an appointment for as soon as they had available, which was Thursday afternoon. We called to let them know we were taking our cat to the emergency vet but till wanted to keep our Thursday appointment. We even called Wednesday for a blood work quote and said see you tomorrow. We show up Thursday as our cat is still not feeling well. They tell us we have no appointment for you because we thought you cancelled. So they mess that up to begin with, but on top of that, to not even attempt to see our pet that's been sick, and at their own fault for screwing up an appointment! They turned us and our sick cat away. We called another vet 20 min down the road they saw us immediately even with a full waiting room. We weren't just trying to get vaccines. Our animal was sick and they didn't care or attempt to see us. Horrible respect for pet owners. Never returning to people who treat your animal which such disregard. You messed up the cancellation, it should of been on you to figure something out. And we have recording of that call, when you're in the wrong. You fix it. read more

This is a hard post for me to write. Before today I had no complaints about Hutto Veterinary Clinic. All three of my dogs saw Dr. Pratt. We lost one dog earlier this year. Dealt with cancer with another. Dr. Pratt was sweet and compassionate. My dog had complications with his Diabetes. We knew his time was nearing. I did not want to take him to a random emergency clinic to put him down. I wanted to take him to the Vet we knew and that showed us compassion many times before. When I called the office first thing this morning the person answering the phone was not the normal person. I explained the situation and that I knew what was about to occur. This person was very matter of fact and did not care that our dog was passing and we needed compassion. She did check with one of the Vets and came back and said for us to go to an Emergency clinic. I pleaded again that I wanted my Dog to come there since we are familiar and the situation is hard. She said sorry you need to call an emergency clinic. After I hung up I decided to call back and ask to leave a message with DR. Pratt. She informed me that she was in surgery. I told her again of my request to bring my dog to them due to the situation. She went and talked with Dr. Pratt and they still could not fit him in at all today. I called another local Vet explained the situation and they worked him in their schedule. Sadly today was his last day but they were full of compassion. Not sure what has changed at Hutto Veterinary Clinic for them to loose their compassion. They have also lost our pets as patients. read more

I absolutely love the Hutto Vet Clinic! The staff there is amazingly kind and it always feels like a family atmosphere. I bring all of my pets to Drs. Holstrom and Burstyn. Recently I was given a 10-day-old kitten rescued from a burn pile. I took him immediately to Dr. Burstyn. He was at the time unable to urinate or defecate on his own. She was very somber about his possible condition, saying that it was possible that he may have damaged his kidneys if he had held his urine for too long. She gave us an antibiotic just in case and told us not to get too hopeful. I was actually thankful for that advice. I'd rather be told the truth then be sent home with the hope that my pet will be fine and end up with a sad surprise. Within a week the kitten was doing so much better - eating and using the litter box all on his own! But his tummy was ENORMOUS. So I took him to see Dr. Burstyn again and this is what I loved about her: She literally LIT up with joy when she saw him! She was so excited for us because he was doing so well, she congratulated me for getting the baby through the rough time, and she laughed at his belly saying he was just overeating! It was so nice to have a vet, who sees animals in all kinds of conditions on a daily basis, be so happy for us!! It really made us feel good to know how much she cared. In addition, another benefit of the Hutto Vet Clinic is that the prices are so reasonable as compared to other vets I have been to with my pets. I highly recommend them!! read more

They do q great job and very happy with your pets. They do as much as they can and make sure that everyone is happy when they head home. Garfield came in for his nails to be clipped and soft caps to be put on but the stuff that is supplied was dried up even unopened bottle so they work with what they had that is about the same product and we are going to see if it works. I am going to contact the company that makes the soft caps and let them know the glue was dry in the tubes. read more

We have been bringing our dog and cat to this clinic for quite a while. Today I called them very upset and scared we were losing our beloved dog due to dog being immobile and no appetite. They got her in immediately and diagnosed and treated her. They were very nice and gentle with her and Dr. Pratt did an excellent job of getting her to eat and outlining a treatment plan for her severe arthritis. I came in with a rescue I had just pulled. He is a giant bull mastiff with no prior training. I could not get him to stay in my car. The vet tech was nice enough to build a kennel, put it in her truck with the dog inside and follow me home. Above and beyond!! The vet was also very good and I was in and out quickly. One of my 3 dogs had a strange circular mark that I thought might be ringworm. It was a Saturday and my usual vet was booked solid. I decided to give Hutto Vet Clinic a try since they are much closer to home. They were able to do a walk in appointment for me. With walk ins at my old vet, I would have to wait for 1-2 hours before getting seen. I walked into Hutto Vet Clinic and was seen in less than 10 minutes. I have never had to wait more than 20 minutes to be seen here and the wait is usually less than 5 minutes. It turned out it was just a scrape but they cleaned it up and told me how to take care of it at home. When 2 of my dogs got into it with each other, one of them got nipped on the tip of his ear. It bled like a fountain and he kept busting it open by shaking his head. Dr. Pratt was able to stitch it up and they gave me various bandages and tape to use to keep his ear from hitting anything. They were very patient with me bringing him back several times to check on the stitches. The stitches have since dissolved and my dog's ear looks like new. Dr. Pratt and the staff are very polite to me and kind to my dogs. Dr Pratt thoroughly explains what is going on and offers several options as far as treatment. They are very fairly priced. I have already referred friends here and they are happy with the service as well. Hutto Vet Clinic is now my primary veterinarian. read more
