Huxdotter used to be our favorite spot. My husband and I were regulars. We were there 4-9 times every single week. We spent a ton of money here. I recently started drinking my coffee without any syrups or sugars. So it's more obvious when a drink isn't made properly or if the beans just are not good. Last Saturday, we grabbed our drinks and went to the park. My americano tasted super burnt and like it had a few too many shots. So my husband went back to get a replacement drink. My husband is the nicest person in the world. The chick who made the drink must have felt personally attacked by the fact that it wasn't good so she gave him a really hard time. She actually made him pay for a replacement beverage even though she should have just remade the drink as courtesy. This is a terrible way to treat people in general, especially regulars. Nice modern cafe building with a drive through and plenty of parking space. The staff were friendly and the service was pretty quick. The Twin Peaks latte (honey and lavender latte) is amazing and definitely worth a stop. Their regular drip coffee was just standard though in my opinion, especially for the higher prices. We stopped by today before a hike and it was a great experience! We came in very early on a Saturday so there was plenty of room, however, as we were leaving it started getting packed (around 8:30AM). Went to North Bend for a weekend getaway and had an opportunity to stop by Huxdotter coffee. Everyone was so nice and so helpful. Loved the atmosphere in the coffee shop too! Nice amount of seating and lots of windows meaning lots of natural light which I love. I ordered the Twin Peaks Latte, Horchata Latte, along with their Ham and Cheese Croissantm and Iron Horse Sandwich. The Twin Peaks Latte was very smooth and had the perfect amount of lavender and honey. It's honestly so good, it might now be my go to latte instead of a classic Vanilla Latte. The Horchata Latte tasted like a cinnamon vanilla cereal milk. A little sweet for my liking but, overall great if you have a sweet tooth. The Ham and Cheese Crossiant was buttery and I really enjoyed the ratio between meat, cheese, and bread. For me, the croissant was a little too soft, I just prefer mines a little more firm. The Iron Horse Sandwich was a perfect classic breakfast sandwich. Eggs,meat,cheese, all in an english muffin what more can you ask for. This place is awesome especially while providing top notch customer service during a pandemic! My husband and I ventured here after a nice hike. We both had a hankering for some caffeine and a nice pastry. We decided to order through the drive thru and let me tell ya, they have it down to a science. Someone greeted us at our vehicle, took our order with an iPad. As we approached the window, we were able to pay, and grab-and-go. I had the Honey Bee Tea Latte- delicious, not too sweet, and a nice croissant pastry. Both items really hit the spot and just what we needed to fuel up with, after a long hike. It was one of very few places open early Sunday. We opted to dine inside, given we just spent a couple of days camping. Interior was nice and cozy. We ordered two coffees, breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito. They arrived fast! Coffee was amazing. But I was so disappointed with the burrito. It was tiny. It reminded me of a snack wrap / kids size burrito. The filling had a couple of pieces of potato, with hardly anything else (I saw beans / cilantro only in the last bite). The burrito was served piping hot, and impossible to eat right away. My friend got a sandwich and it looked so much better. Don't get the burrito! read more

I've only been through the drive thru so can't speak for the inside. The coffee and customer service are good but the breakfast sandwiches could use improvement. It's nice they have a big selection and they all sound good based off the descriptions, but the reality is that they are premade, heated up, and just not very good. Cute coffee place with cringy customer service from the staff. The coffee can be decent (overpriced), but every-time I visit it's like the baristas absolutely hate their job. Never a smile, always a bit judgmental. The last time I went there I thought, this coffee is not worth the negative vibes in here. On the way back from a hike, we wanted to grab a coffee and thanks to yelp, I found this one was on the way back home. There is limited cafe hours but the drivethrough remains open in the mid afternoon, so we got in line to get our drinks this way. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast the ordering, receiving drinks, etc went, especially since everything happened at one window. Way faster than Starbucks! I ordered an Irish cream cold brew and my friend got a Hawaiian silk drink (I think). He really liked his drink. My cold brew - it took a while for the flavors to mix and complement one another, but it was still good. My favorite thing is there Topographic design on their cups though! love that. After a fun morning of hiking, my friends and I stopped by Huxdotter Coffee to fill out hungry bellies. It was such a clear and beautiful day! There was outdoor seating available, and it was a perfect spot for a beautiful view of Mount Si. In terms of food, I ordered the Cuban melt sandwich, which had cost $9. I was not very impressed by the presentation or flavor profile of this sandwich. The bread to filling ratio was not well balanced, as there was more bread than filling. For the filling, it included only a few pieces of ham, cheese, and sauce. I thought that it was underwhelming. The sandwich overall tasted alright, but in my opinion, the high cost made it hard for me to see myself coming back for a sandwich. Maybe next time I'll check out their drinks, which I heard were delicious. read more

First time visiting this coffee shop and was greeted by warm and friendly smiles. The place has a very trendy/lodge style but sadly no fire place. They have delicious donuts and other baked offerings and at 5:00 are still relatively well stocked of them. I ordered a camomile tea and it is very good. I've held off writing a review for a while because my daughter loves this place and as a resident of North Bend for over 20 years, I always do my best to support our local businesses. But I have to leave a review at this point because I just keep having poor experiences. This of course won't apply to everyone but the issues I'm having surround "dairy" intolerance. Every other Seattle area coffee shop I've ever been to has soy, oat milk etc etc. So does Hux, but no matter how many combinations of espresso drinks I've tried, I always feel the effects of my dairy intolerance. I've asked them to use a separate tin for streaming and they have said they've done this, but usually with caveats, I e. they wash it out well etc. Again, I literally do not have the experience at any other place that I go to - small shop, big shop, local, out of state, etc. So I don't know what it is. Maybe it's their actual espresso which doesn't seem to make any sense, but I suspect it's the tins have residual milk and it's not truly washed. I've tried to get a couple of sandwiches from them before and they make them from scratch in the back. I've known them make them "to order" for people before, but seemingly every time I'm there, they won't. And when I asked them to take the cheese off which is common at most places I've been to, they say there are certain sandwiches they won't take the cheese off and they always seem to be out of the ones that they say they will. In any event, it's just a lot of work to try to get anything there that I can have outside of a juice. I'm not deathly allergic to dairy, but the things that I'm asking for are 99% of the time accepted that any other place I go. I wish my local coffee shop such as Hux would do this. It's a great location and gets good reviews overall but I just can't give it the same as everyone else. I hope that over time they become more flexible people with dairy intolerances similar to pretty much everyone else. Was going to rate two stars but feel it's more fair to give them three stars. They have good service overall and I know my daughter loves them as do a number of her friends. read more

This place was great! By far the best coffee I've had since coming down to WA this week, and they had nonfat milk, which has been hard to find. I had two gift cards that I found in my mother's belongings and when I went to see what the balance was , they said they changed to a new system and could not tell me what was left. Ham and Brie? The ham is off-the-rack Oscar Meyer -- 2 thin slices folded over. Not much Brie. Good grained mustard. Lots of mustard. Mostly bread and mustard. Huxdotters, your customers would likely pay a bit more for a decent sandwich. Serving a hunk of bread with second rate fillings doesn't meet the same quality standards that you apply to your coffee. read more
