Ugh so so yummy! Loved their espresso roast so much I went online and bought some from lighthouse! And their sandwiches are so good! So glad we stopped by!

Stopped by here on the way to Snoqualmie to ski and it was really nice! It's a coffee shop combined with an outdoor show and it is the PNW personified. I had a hot chocolate with a cream cheese bagel. They were both good and the people running the shop were nice! Really enjoyed the ambiance overall and will def be back

Great food, friendly service, and an awesome vibe and decor here! This was a perfect spot to stop over at and get a minute to rest and eat on our drive out east.

Relaxing and lovely coffee/gear shop! Local goods, half gear shop and half cafe. We were stopping through after hiking on Rattlesnake Trail. The coffee was smooth and quick. Got a vegan breakfast sandwich that hit the spot! Many people, families, couples, dogs. We'll definitely be back while we're in the area.

Avocado toast, after removing a ridiculous heaping of arugula overpowering the sandwich.

Living in North Bend, my wife and I like to explore breakfast areas downtown. We were not impressed with this place. We tried a scone with two avocado toasts. The pastries are grab-n-go style so the scone was pretty dry. The avocado toast was loaded with enough arugula to fill a salad bowl, but even after scraping off the excess the avocado and eggs were still somehow inedible. Service time was as expected with a crowd, a bit slow. Ambiance is loud. Also had to try to eat the avocado sandwich with limited utensiles. If you want to grab a coffee to go, and you like your coffee bitter, sure. But not a great cafe to have a light breakfast.

Iced Latte, light ice with oatmilk ($6)

I stopped by Arete while in Northbend after reading all the positive Yelp reviews. While they don't have their own parking lot, there's lots of street parking on the adjacent streets. It took me a little while to find Arete because it shares a space with a skiing/hiking store. With that said, they have a fair amount of seating both indoors and outdoors. Many people were chatting and studying when I arrived. I ordered a basic iced latte with light ice and oat milk. I think it's about $1 extra for plant milk substitutions. My total came to $6. The barista was friendly and I got my order in less than 10 minutes after ordering. The coffee was smooth and stronger than a typical Starbucks coffee in my opinion. I definitely felt the buzz. The atmosphere is cute and cozy. They sell stickers, books, and other outdoors equipment. Overall, 4/5 for coffee, 4/5 for service, 4/5 for atmosphere

This cute little cafe has a view of the mountains That make you want to savor every sip of your coffee! That was on a cloudy day! Can't imagine a sunny day! After hiking we swung over to this little cafe. The baristas and staff were hospitable and so friendly. The breakfast burrito hit the spot after a morning hike! A latte with one of their homemade flavors!

    My latte- delicious

Decided to check out Arete on a drizzly Saturday morning. Cute place located inside ski shop. So glad we did. I tried the special latte Brown Sugar Bourbon Vanilla Latte. Nicely done. Good balance of espresso, flavor and yum. Not overly sweet and good bourbon flavor. The trailblazer burrito was delicious. Nice balance of ingredients. The roasted pepper really added an excellent flavor with out overwhelming the whole Looking forward to our next visit

An awesome cafe! I had a latte and a sandwich and they were delicious. I really liked the sandwich I'd come back for that alone. Inside had a cool vibe with seating, a tv with snow sport videos on, and a shop to look around in.

This cute coffee shop is perfectly placed next to the ski shop. We stopped in after a rainy hike, and the ambiance was perfect for an afternoon hangout amidst the backdrop of North Bend. Drinks: 5/5. I had a cappuccino and a decaf mocha. Both were delicious! Service and atmosphere: 5/5. The shop is the perfect place to duck into when it's raining or snowing. The baristas are very friendly, and the ski decor + books create the perfect outdoorsy ambiance.

This is what we had. Drinks: Iced matcha latte with oat milks & brown sugar bourbon vanilla latte with oat milk Food: Sasquatch breakfast burrito + sour cream + sriracha aïoli + caramelized onions (2) Dessert: cinnamon roll We visited from California and absolutely loved the breakfast burrito definitely tasted better with the add ons... chiefs kiss The drinks were good and we never got to the cinnamon roll unfortunately we were too full I loved the vibe of this little place, if we ever go back to Seattle we'll be making a stop here. If you like your food flavorful like us definitely give it a try! We ordered online and the food was ready pretty fast which we really appreciate since e we had just came from a hike and were starving lol. Overall I would recommend! Thanks guys!

We googled a coffee shop Arete came up. We are truly blown away. Such good coffee! The baristas were so helpful and friendly. The place is so inviting, it's located in a ski shop, and it has to much information on things to do. Love it! We are adding it to our stops in our maps app. This is a must stop place. You will not be disappointed.

Avocado toast and the argula grass mat I took off it. I like some argula, but this was way too much.

This is a coffee bar inside a ski shop. Nice idea for grabbing a cuppa, but not a true place for brunch/breakfast. There is very limited seating in a corner of the store. Service was 10 to 15 minutes for the coffee and the staff was largely inattentive. As a coffee bar perhaps they could succeed if they were better at both coffee and service. But as always, people will want more, but food wasn't the right direction for this crew. The avocado toast was inedible and came with a mat of arugula that I couldn't get through to the tasteless schmear of flavorless avocado that came without salt, lemon. See the photo to understand the comment about the mat. My cappuccino was bitter and certainly Starbucks does better (NOTE: I am not necessarily a Starbux fan). The scone was not heated and was supposed to be bacon, cheese. Reminiscent of sawdust as it crumbled during eating. After spending $40 on this debacle, our very unmerry gang moved down the street to another coffee bar that was much more to our liking.

We had spent the day flying from Denver to Seattle, driving home we stopped here for some not too shabby bar food (def the local dive bar vibe, in a good way). Not busy but didn't really expect it to be. A few guys playing pool and baseball on the TVs. Their outdoor area in the back is huge. Some covered area, some not. There is a giant RV wrapped in Seahawk livery, pretty cool. Hubs had the Old Stove IPA and I had my customary Mothers Day Bloody Mary, both were yummy. My Bacon Swiss Mushroom Burger was amazing paired with super fresh tasting giant onion rings. Our son-in-law had the Philly Cheesesteak upgraded with prime rib, he loved it but it could have had more meat, and then they mistakenly charged us double for his order. The homemade chili had a little spicy kick to it. We also all enjoyed the Spicy Mac N Cheese Bites. We will keep this place on the radar for future drives home.

It's not the cleanest bar around, but this isn't fine dining. Oh, and well behaved dogs are welcome and fit right in. I appreciate that they change their beer tap lines often and even include the dates they change them near the bar. That's rare for most bars and a great sign if you like great beer. Their food is also excellent. Better than most bars and they offer happy hour, lunch specials and daily specials in case you're looking to save a few bucks. They have many TV's and will even have audio of big games which can be nice. Their website is not very updated as the specials and prices have changed (as of April, 2026), so I've included updated menus below.

It's amazing that for over 7 years, no matter who's minding their store, they never say even "hello" when I walk in or "thank you" when I place an order. Most times, their silence is only broken by "I'm ready" (to take your order). That's it. Most times, they don't even say anything when they put my coffee on the service counter. It's no coincidence I'm almost always the only one in the shop. The staff that work in the businesses next to them (hair cut place and nail salon) laugh about how Vintage Vine staff are so consistently rude and unwelcoming. We buy wine from Kristi annually on our trip to this area and were delighted that she took over the space where a terrible excuse for a restaurant used to be housed. She has transformed an old space into one of the best hangouts in town with a bar that serves wine and beer and couches and tables to relax among the bottles of wine. The walls are the original brick and are adorned with tasteful local art. Pick a bottle off the shelves and enjoy it there for a $5 corkage fee. She has an excellent taplist but an even more impressive beer cooler. I was more than a little astonished to find my favorite beer from Portland (a seasonal) on the shelves. She also has some rare finds from California. With Kristi it's nothing but honest opinions on wine. If you ask her what she thinks of a bottle, she'll tell you the truth rather than trying to make the sell if she thinks you won't like it. Just yesterday when we asked her opinion on a bottle, she said, it's good, but this is better and steered us toward another, cheaper option. And this woman has a memory like a steel trap! It had actually been two years since our last visit and she remembered us. Even more impressive, she usually remembers what wines her patrons enjoyed on their last visit, so if you enjoyed a few too many and forgot that amazing wine she poured you, she will likely remember. Everything we have gotten from her has been interesting and delicious. Stumbling across a Kristi selection in our collection is always a treat because we know we're in for something fantastic. Stop in and prepare to be wowed!
