Food horrible , service horrible first and last time here. I should have listened to the reviews but I thought I would give them a chance and they definitely did not win me over. We order To go in the app and when we got there not one person acknowledged us they just walked past we literally had to stop so one and ask if they could held us it's like it was a big deal. As always the food in Highway 55 is consistent and good. The salads are fresh. With a party of eight with five of them being children, the service was beyond expectations. This restaurant is an old soda pop type nostalgic setting, setting them apart from the others. I would definitely return here and recommend it to others as well. read more

About two weeks ago we ordered regular (not mini) concretes at the drive through. They came in a Styrofoam coffee cup. One other time we ordered a basket of onion rings also at the drive through which consisted of 4 small onion rings in a small paper bag. Now we drive an extra 20 minutes to go to the one in Sanford. read more

Terrible. I guess nobody here understands that food needs to be hot when served. Burger and fries were soggy and not even close to warm. I couldn't even eat the burger and had to warm the fries up at my house. Hands down the best part about the meal is the drink. read more

If I could leave no stars, I would. The service was TERRIBLE! We were seated when we arrived for dine-in. After that, nothing. No waitress or waiter bothered bringing us a menu. 10 minutes later, a party of 8 comes in. They are seated and received service immediately. After I made eye contact with the waitress she still never acknowledged us. We never received service and we left after that. I will never go to that Hwy 55 again. Stopped here because Bojangles next door was super crowded and they weren't. That should have been my warning, but hey, mistakes happen when blood sugar is low. Let's get the decent out of the way. Onion rings weren't hot but tasted ok. Fries were good and salted well. Now the bad. The burgers were HORRIBLE. It was part of a kid's meal, but don't kids (or people who eat small portions) deserve something other than a tiny hockey puck with NO ketchup or other condiments on a stale bun? There weren't even ketchup packets in the bag for the fries to help things out. We were asked if we wanted "sauce", which I guess included ketchup? The drinks were super small, too. This place is the worst Hwy 55 I have ever ate at. I had to wait on tater tots then when I got my food my burger was wrong. So I waited long enough i just went in and I heard the cook say something like a burger crisis, I knew it was about me. In all I waited 42 minutes for a double cheese burger and fries and the waitress and older cook were disrespectful. I will not go back there. read more

Eight minutes after seating I got menu and asked for really fresh hot fries with my one hotdog, so they just refried the fries and they were like a hard and pretty unpleasant. Their hotdogs are pretty good but Hotdog Headquarters are the gourmet people when available. Cheyenne to the rescue! She was very delightful and pleasant even if she did forget my house salad. We are Hwy 55 regulars, we eat at the Fuquay and Holly Springs/Apex locations several times a month and we were thrilled that they were coming back to Lillington. We have eaten at the new location three times and have been completely unhappy on all three visits. There are two things you can usually count on from Hwy 55, stuffed cheesesteaks with so much meat on them you can't close the bun and fresh, grilled to order hamburgers. Either the manager of this location or if it is a franchise, the owner of this location, has decided to ignore these two core reasons why locals support this business. The first time we visited this location, right after they opened, we received two cheesesteaks with so little meat in them, we thought we were on some kind of prank TV show. Two weeks later, we decided to give them another chance, hoping it was just a fluke. Exact same scrawny amount of cheesesteak, literally half the meat that all the other local locations put on their sandwiches. On our third and last visit ever to this location, we decided to go with cheeseburgers, thinking we would have a better chance at receiving the normal meat to bun ratio. While that did happen, we were shocked at how quickly the burgers arrived at our table compared to the dozens of times we had placed similar orders at other locations. It didn't take long to figure out why, the burgers were lukewarm and had obviously been precooked and reheated. I have no doubt the reason for the lack of cheese steak in their sandwiches is greed and I would hazard a guess that the reheated burgers are due to the drive-through. In conversation with several neighbors that have also visited the location, we confirmed they had the same experience. While we remain Highway 55 enthusiasts, if this location doesn't start offering the same freshly prepared, quality food and value that other Hwy 55 locations in the area offer, it won't take long for them to follow the path of the last Hwy 55 in Lillington. read more

Always great, would have gotten 5 stars, except for the nasty ass red hot dogs. Clean and friendly.
