two pieces of bread on a plate

With the name Nonna's I had higher expectations. The interior leaves much to be desired. Highly outdated, seats are highly worn and uncomfortable, walls needs painting. But decided to give it a shot. Concerned with the lack of guests. Maybe one other customer. Order chicken Alfredo, fettuccine carbonara and cheese bread. Pastas were mediocre, but good. Bread was just a sub roll split with a generous amount of butter. But the most disappointing was the sad salad.

This delicious white pizza is my favorite!!

After hiking one Sunday at the local state park, a large group of us decided we wanted pizza. Nonna's was on the Yelp app and local. We called ahead to make sure they could seat such a large party. Turns out we were the only ones there on a late Sunday afternoon. I was a little skeptical based on the reviews. The restaurant does indeed have the antique building smell, but other than that no issues with the establishment itself. It's a small town pizza shop and to be expected to be a little older. We ordered several pizzas. Our waitress was awesome. She provided excellent service and kept us all filled on drinks. The pizza was amazing. We loved the white pizza topped with ricotta and broccoli. We throughly enjoyed our visit and have been back several Sundays with large parties. We will continue to frequent Nonna's for pizza night.

    Best part of the meal.

Food is very good. Well worth the stop. It is family owned and run. The building is a bit old but the service was impeccable!!

We love their pizza. The staff is kind, but the restaurant is in dire need of updating. A decent place for locals.

I love wings and the hotter the sauce the better but I was pleasantly surprised how the rosemary gave a nice flavor upfront with a subtle heat on the back and which made them most enjoyable. The blue cheese dipping sauce had little chunks of blue cheese that did not over power the dip or wings. The garden state burger brought me back to my childhood when I would walk to the corner deli and get a pork roll, egg, and cheese on a Saturday morning! The employees were so courteous and provided me with great service even when I arrived early to pick up my food. The table layout seems perfect for quant dinning but also open enough to share in the atmosphere on a busy night with other customers. As a recently retiree from the Army I am very thankful that I was able to support a veteran owned business and that it is providing great food for the Lillington and surrounding areas. Me and the family will definitely be return customers.

Very attentive and accommodating. As a table we ordered the coconut shrimp as an appetizer. The coconut was a overly crispy but still had a good flavor. I ordered the boardwalk fries with a side salad as my meal. Both were delicious. For my portion of the appetizer, fries and salad my total was around $36 before tip. Would definitely come back here.

We made a rookie mistake: no reservation. Day before Christmas Eve. The only table available was by the door, which, for us, is a hard no. It was already chilly outside, and sitting by the door means constant drafts, tense shoulders, and food cooling faster with every opening. Not ideal, especially when you're settling in for a proper steak dinner. To their credit, the hostess tried everything--even showing us the reservation layout for the evening. The owner came over personally, and in the end, our options were simple: take the door table or come back at 7:30 pm when more tables would open. We were hungry, but we chose comfort over impatience. My dad left his number just in case a table opened sooner. We went home, had light snacks, and--surprise--got a call at 6:55 pm. Not only was a table available, it was a booth. That alone told me everything I needed to know about how they run this place. Stellar Client Care. When we returned, the owner John Linderman, met us at the door--warm, apologetic, and genuinely appreciative that we came back. The entire staff operates like a well-oiled team, with hospitality that feels intentional rather than performative. It's been a good while since I experienced an owner manager stop by every table to check in. A gesture from better dining times. Now, the food. We ordered: * Stuffed Shrimp with crab meat * Sausage bombs * Prime rib * A tomahawk ribeye to split I don't know if Harvey John's is officially farm-to-table, but the steak tasted incredibly clean--like actual beef. As a native New Yorker living in Los Angeles, I've eaten at many top-tier steakhouses--BOA, Ruth's Chris, Musso & Frank, Nick & Stef's, Steak 48--and I can confidently say this tomahawk was more flavorful and tasted fresher than all of them. Who knew a small-town North Carolina steakhouse would deliver a truly high-end experience? I'm no chef, but I do have a refined palate, and this meal was memorable. Honestly? If Michelin ever looks this way, they should take note. It's comforting to know you can leave one of the biggest food cities in the world and still find a steakhouse worthy of becoming a new regular favorite. Pro tip: Make a reservation--just to be safe. Cheers to Harvey John's.
