Three weeks ago my master bedroom shower began to leak and upon inspection found I needed a new cartridge. The manufacturer was Grohe which I was told by my contractor, John, HOW GREAT Grohe was especially since there parts were easy to get if you ever had a problem. BULL SHI*, nothing could be further from the truth. Without getting into the details was able to FINALLY FIND someone who had the Grohe cartridge based off of the INVOICE AND THE ACTUAL INSTRUCTION MANUAL that I kept for 3.5 years JUST IN CASE I HAD A PROBLEM. So I get the EXACT, SPECIFIC CARTRIDGE the exact ONE that's in the manual and guess what, when a plumber goes to install it it's not the correct cartridge. The contractor, who had his staff input the shower valve well they installed a different catridge altogether, though not sure how. Anyway, the cartridge PART that was listed in the MANUAL was not the correct cartridge. Furthermore, why is the cartridge broke after 3.5 years and all the plumbers I talked with lamblasted Grohe as being bothersome, not worth the hassle , bad service and difficult to get parts. Be careful with this company as you're told one thing BUT be careful as the parts you think you're getting installed and are listed on the invoice and the instructions manual may not actually be the parts installed. Weather was an issue but what was more of an issue was that he worked alone and talked on his phone more than he seemed to work. Many people were commenting on how slow he was working. The rot under the siding was fixed well, the stairs were done in the back well, stairs in front my husband felt the support was suspect (means 4x4s were cut short - he made up some excuse that this was his intent) and door window was damaged and cracked. We have tried to contact him on multiple occasions, even going so far as forgetting all the support issues but wanted our door window repaired or replaced. He has ghosted us!! This is unacceptable. We paid him to do a job and didn't hold back any money (our mistake - now he has no reason to call us back). So now our only option is to hire a lawyer to get our door window repaired or replaced because at this point that's all we care about. We didn't pay all that money to have a door that doesn't function properly!
