This HyVee is from my old neighborhood... but I drive the extra to go here often. They have a large selection and are one of the best options for grocery shopping in the OP area. But this review is more a story about how this place operates. Every Veteran's Day area HyVee's have a breakfast for Vets. My little brother (Army Vet) and I (Navy Vet) go each year. Mostly so we can let the people at HyVee know that we appreciate not only the breakfast but that they as a company and as individuals that VOLUNTEER to work the event, are deeply appreciated. So special shout-out to them for their time and consideration! As for the grocery store itself. It is exactly what you want out of a grocery store. Some of the things I really love: Bright and Clean Huge Selection Meat counter people are really helpful Food counters are usually well stocked and organized. Some things that need improvement: Produce selection. Good Basics but there seems to be no expanded offerings. Also while on produce... they at one time had a lot of the precut onion and veg and did a good job maintaining that. But, that has slipped. Bakery. So many wonderful options. But, there is no one willing to talk with anybody at that counter ever. And the one thing that bugs me about every grocery store... impolite shoppers! Hey, we all want to get in and get out with what we hafta get... we can do so politely and courteously. Look up. Pay attention to what is going on around you. Ask yourself if you are going to be specifically getting in someones way/personal space? It literally takes longer to get through the checkout line here than it takes to get your groceries. I needed to run in for three items. I've been in line for the "express lane" for over 5 minutes. If you're going to take away the self checkout staff your registers! Also, good luck getting a cart on the far side by the pharmacy. This location is not what it used to be. I had a Horrific experience on of all days..Super Bowl Sunday . The cashier was extremely rude to me..even though she saw that I was a handicapped patron! When I asked for help out to my car..she rudely replied that it was too busy and service wasn't available . When another customer behind me overheard this..they offered their assistance. ONLY then..she retracted her statement and offered to ask someone..whom immediately agreed . Normally I wouldn't say anything about such ignorance, but when I got home and saw that half of my groceries (that I paid over $200 for were damaged..I knew that I had to call a manager. I spoke with a very nice manager named Dave who was so kind to speak with and handled the situation like a Boss should. He reminded me of why I choose this location for my shopping. Jul 30 2025 08:08 PM, we were in your store to pick up an rx and a few groceries. Hy-vee at 95th and Antioch. We arrive around 7 pm. Both my self and my partner are seniors 73 and 68. I have mobility issues. we picked up the script first and then shopped. After we checked out we headed to the exit where we came in by the pharmacy and were almost there and one of the staff yelled at us "that door closes at 8:00 pm." I was not happy! When your pharmacy closes at 8 pm why would you close doors when the rest of the store is still open. I will make sure that we only shop you pharmacy from now on, not the store. This business practice is unnecessary and caused difficulty for a pair of customers, which your advertising says you care about, but you obviously do not. read more

The pharmacy at this Hy-Vee location is run very poorly. Prescriptions take more than 24-hours to be filled. Most times that I arrive to pick up, my prescriptions are not ready, even when they were called days earlier. At this moment, a prescription that my doctor sent 36 hours ago is not ready. I waited in line 15 minutes to pick up and, since I'm leaving town in the morning, I was told I'd have to wait 25 minutes for it to be ready. It has now been 45 minutes and was told it will be 15 minutes longer. I can't imagine how awful it is to work here--I have watched also many unhappy customers come and go! This is my neighborhood supermarket and it's overall good, though has some room for improvement. Here are the pros and cons as I see them: The good: - This store is huge, bright, and clean! It's been open now for several years and still maintains a clean and inviting environment. - There are fun carts for kids, meaning the main shopping carts have fake "cars" on the fronts which my toddler loves and makes shopping here with her a breeze. - There is a pretty good heath/ organic section. - They have easy to use and ample self check out stations. The bad: - The selection. It's SO basic. If you want anything aside from romaine or iceberg lettuce you might as well just go to Whole Foods. Also while they carry a good amount of local products I'd like to see more, especially in the butcher shop. For a huge store it kills me that one time I couldn't find any arugula and they just don't carry sumo oranges at all when in season - what's up with that? read more

Hy-Vee is a quick stop before I head to work in the mornings. The deli hours say 6:30am however the service I've received is not the "helpful smile on every aisle" attitude they advertise. Not only is staff sparse around 6:45am, but often they will chat with other coworkers and not acknowledge you. Then when you get help, it's rude and it's as if you're a burden to them. I'm out of state by my mother in law recommended Hy-Vee's florist department if I ever wanted to order flowers. My cousin lives near this location so I contacted them and talked to a very nice lady and told her what I was looking for. Something fun and modern for my cousin's 75th birthday. I called to place my order to be delivered with a 10 lead time. A couple days before I wanted it delivered the nice lady called me (so sorry I can't recall her name!) and said that my original choice wasn't looking so good now and suggested another plant. Well - what she suggested is one of my favorites as well as my cousin's! My cousin told me it was just beautiful! Thank you Hy-Vee! We will be calling you again! I'm back in Overland Park for another extended work trip (last visited during opening in March 2013) and my first day in Kansas, where do I myself, not once but twice?? That's right - Hyvee!! It's just like I remember: big but inviting, clean, good selection and prices, friendly customer service. I love the convenience of 24 hours. In the morning before even checking into my home place, I stopped by to pick up some groceries. Hyvee has great prices and especially on basic items; almond milk (smaller selection than my home store tho), yogurt, frozen meals all had sale prices. I eye the Shatto milk, it's so fresh in it's glass containers, and the freeze section lights up as you walk by, inviting a glance into its doors. I'm back for dinner at the salad buffet - honestly one of my favorites places to eat in KS is this kitchen; you can't beat the prices and the deal, ESP as a budget traveler. Salad bar is $6 + tax for one plate (load up!) or $7 all you can eat. I load up on steak, kale (it's the best here, I need to get this recipe), edamame, quinoa salad and other protein goodies - it's good and fresh and the best deal! There's daily deals in the pizza, Chinese, rotisserie and a sports bar upstairs that serves drinks and other foods. Also you can get a punch card: by 10 salads get 1 free!! I just left a curbside pick up and at first was disappointed that all the items I requested were not in stock. While sitting in my car to double check the order online, Tara came out to see if there was anything she could help me with. I explained to her that I had hoped someone would have called me if they were out of certain items. They had done that in the past but she explained that they have triple the volume now which is understandable but nevertheless, I was disappointed. Five minutes later she went out of her way to double check if the items I really wanted had been restocked in the last hour and sure enough they had. She went in to get them and bring them back out to me and was thoroughly pleasant and kind the entire time. I will not go to any other Hyvee now!! Thanks Tara! Grocery shopping at Hy Vee this Sunday afternoon in Overland Park, KS at 95th & Antioch. Employees are required to wear masks - customers are not. No more PA announcements about social distancing or observing the one way aisle signs or encouraging customers to wear masks. Well over 50% maybe 75% of customers are not wearing masks and blatantly do not observe one way aisle signs. Large traffic jams of maskless shoppers piled up in most every aisle. Went to customer service desk to complain to the manager and found the manager on duty speaking in very close quarters to a customer for over ten minutes with his mask not covering his nose. Hy Vee no longer has any early hours for seniors or people with compromised immune systems. read more

One thing I've always loved about Hy-Vee stores are their 'Health Market' areas, and the one here is twice the size of most others around town. The whole store is huge but it's laid out pretty intuitively, and it doesn't feel overwhelming. The parking lot is big and easy to access. Checkout is a breeze and every staff member I've interacted with has been so helpful. Definitely get their discount card. You get instant savings on lots of items, plus at Hy-Vee gas stations. Decided to send flowers to my sister for her birthday, so called their floral department yesterday(this location is the closest to where she works). I was aware that they are part of FTD, so I could have done it online but chose to give my business to this location. I spoke to Kari, who also happened to be the manager. Initially, our conversation was frustrating since there was a bad connection(due to weather or me calling from Phoenix?). She called me right back and I placed the order describing what I wanted in the arrangement. Talk about AMAZING Customer Service, Kari even sent me a photo of the finished arrangement(she personally did my order). As a former Nordstrom manager, when I encounter great customer service I definitely think it is worth mentioning-isn't that how you get repeat business?!! Kudos and thanks to Kari! Just got back from HyVee at 95th & Antioch in Overland Park. Order #1 Chinese entree with rice. I chose cashew chicken with vegatables and steamed rice and egg roll for $8.99. It consisted of tons of steamed rice, a dab or cashew chicken (maybe a cup at most, and an egg roll. There were no cashews, very little chicken, lots of onions and celery. The main course of the cashew chicken was put in the small part of the 3 part plate and the steamed rice was in the double large portion of the plate. I ended up throwing most of the rice away because it was way too much compared to the entree. I think it should have been the other way around. The rice in a small section and the entree in the large portion. I will not be back. read more

Curb-side pick up is supposed to be convenient. Last time I came here I waited 45 minutes. Now, my second time, I've been here waiting for 30 minutes. They have just one girl working at 5:30 when everyone is picking up groceries. I felt so bad for her. Items were missing from my list last time. No one texted me if I wanted an alternative, which I selected in the app to supply alternatives. I won't pick up from here again. Holy hell this place rocks. I came opening week and had breakfast upstairs in the restaurant. Breakfast in a grocery store? I know, I was skeptical too- but it was actually good. You can get your own breakfast from a buffet line downstairs, but I opted for table service, gobbling up my breakfast sandwich and cinnamon rolls while overlooking the vast ponderosa which is "mega" Hy-Vee. Once downstairs, we started our 2 hour shopping trip. I am hoping to cut future trips down to one hour, but there is just so much to see! The prepared food area is just as god as it gets. We bought a slab of ribs from a guy that had smoked them only hours earlier. Sliced pork loin, rotisserie chicken and pulled pork was also divine. Just wait until you see the fresh baked bread area!! OMG, so many to choose from, plus you can even get half loaves slices, so no more wasted bread. The bulk food aisle is really amazing. Not just peanuts and brown rice, but some really great chocolate candy and snack mixes. A scale instantly prints out your bar code, so no more writing down numbers on tags. There are other great details like refrigerator lights on sensors to avoid wasted electricity. We came here with a plan of hitting Whole Foods afterward to get some unique items. Thing is, we found 99% of everything we needed right there. Let me just leave you with this-already peeled clementines sold in containers and crab rangoon with jalapeno peppers. The catering department dropped the ball. We ordered something with 24 hour advanced notice and the website said it would be ready by 2 PM on December 12. When my husband got to the catering department, they accused him of ordering a tray of sandwiches and a 50/50 fruit and veggie tray on too short of notice and not being able to help him. The lady behind the counter berated my husband until a manager came and resolved the situation. We didn't get the 50/50 fruit and veggie tray we ordered and all the stress that came with being an hour out from our event with no food. The manager was apologetic but it doesn't make up for the lady behind the counter who refused to help until a manager forced her to work. I would strongly suggest calling and confirming your order the day before it is due (though you shouldn't have to). read more

So I've been a long-term customer of the 91st and Metcalf Hy-Vee (now closed) and I joined the Oak Park Mall Hy-Veers who were also directed to this mega Hy-Vee when theirs closed at the same time. Huge, clean space. They have a freaking sports bar in here. Me, I'm a Whole Foods guy, but I come here for the same reasons I always went to the old one: after hours postal service dry cleaning from Hangers Cleaners Parking is a bit of a challenge at this location. As "traditional" grocery stores go, this Hy-Vee is fairly awesome. The truth is that we get most of our groceries at Trader Joe's and Natural Grocers with a bit of Sprouts mixed in, but this Hy-Vee is a pretty good alternative and not far out of the way for us on our way home from work. When they built this store, they left plenty of room for an organic section which is fairly large and has a lot of things we buy regularly. My only beef with Hy-Vee in regards to their organics is they're mostly over-priced; however once in a blue moon, you'll find a pretty good sale price. They have also included a pretty nice section for cosmetics and "girly stuff" as my hubby likes to call it. I'm a fan of Zum products and I love that they have a pretty astounding variety at this store including bulk bath salts. The store is huge with an excellent variety of conventional groceries and a well-stocked butcher area. Upstairs, they have a restaurant/bar area where they have a pretty decent beer selection and nightly specials. The food there is not spectacular, but it's always better if you can wash it down with a beer. And isn't grocery shopping better with beer? The store is clean and well-laid out and it's pretty easy to find what you need. The staff is always pleasant and efficient so the checkout lines move pretty quickly. read more

Can I just tell you in such a lame pun loving type of way, that this sweet grocery store is... 'Hy-Vee' recommended. Wink wink. I know I know, that one was a smidge of a stretch. I actually really wonder how they got their name but I forgot to ask. Research for my next trip, I suppose. This chain of over 200 stores is extremely organized, beautifully merchandised, fairly priced and an overall fun place to get your shop on. Regardless if you need general merchandise or fresh veggies, they have solutions for every customer's need. Would you like some hot soup while you shop for the perfect wine? Have at it, hungry friends. They even have a really amazing bar at the top of their stairs now in roughly 100 concepts around the MINK states. Their Happy Hour is simply divine. $3-$5 deals including some wine, beer and appetizers (like their cheese quesadilla which was soooooo gooey)! They also have $2 off any cocktails during this time. I got a Long Island Mule which was all the booze ever plus some ginger beer. Who can say no? Our waiter or bartender Zach was a funny guy with a nice tie and quick witted rapport. That's all you can really hope for in life... I mean, in a grocery experience. I am amazed by the way their bath bombs, hand crafted soap and other beauty products were displayed. This Hy-Vee was remodeled fairly recently and is just awesome. I go there frequently for the salad bar because it has the best selection and variety. It's always well stocked and clean. Aside from the salad bar, they offer pizza, chinese, sushi, sandwiches, and the general hot bar. I would definitely recommend stopping in for a bite, just keep in mind that it is very busy during that time of day. read more

This store is so unorganized and employees are unprofessional. Asked help to find an item that is shown on the app, the nice bag boys did there best to help find them but went to all the aisles that I already had. After 40mins trying to find the item, they said that they don't have it because the manager told them "If you can't find it, it's probably not in stock". No one searched anything in their system to find what aisle it would be in, so we just wandered through every aisle. When I asked the manager how I could add an item for curbside pick up but it not be available inside he said it doesn't update with inventory. So you are allowed to pay for the item for curbside and just don't get it?? There should be a system in place that allows to see what aisle an item is in, and if they are in stock or not. For the employees at a minimum so they do not waste 40mins trying to find it and then saying it wasn't available. If there is one in place the manager should have used it and not been so arrogant because he was lazy and didn't want to work. The item not being in stock is not the problem, the issue is the inefficient waste of time and an unprofessional manager did not help a frustrating situation. I still can't believe that you can purchase an item on the app for pick up yet it isn't in stock in the store? Something just doesn't make sense there. read more

Our server since to have to force his conversation with us - made us feel awkward for him. His explanation of the monthly Rueben burger was the hamburger meat with the Rueben was again awkward & confusing. My burger was in memorable but my garlic mashed potatoes were tasty. Really done going here. Got the Chiefs championship flags, little things but they were only $5. But then open them and the rivets were all rusted and it was all over the flag. Go back, awww gee, sold out. Later, about a month ago. They had their pizza's already cooked and ready to grab in the warmer, it was a gameday thing or something, so I grabbed one. Absolutely tasteless, plain tomato sauce and less than no flavor to any ingredients, actually threw it out. I have never thrown a pizza away ever in my life until then. My gf couldn't even eat more than two bites, literally handed me her plate and said "here, you take it". There was NO flavor anywhere in that pizza. Forward to tonight. 30 cents off on $60 spent, okay. But I just bought a bunch of groceries the other day and don't need much. So I get up, take off my nice warm slippers and blanket and go out in the cold rain. Figure I'll get the ham and you get a turkey free, the ham is about $27 so halfway to $60. Get some other stuff to add, but wow, NO turkeys. Asked the meat guy. Nothing in until Monday. 30 cent gas deal is only today and tomorrow. Ask front counter and they say no rain checks. She says come back Monday blah, blah. I work three jobs, I don't have time to just drop in. Thank you so much for wasting my time on that and coming out in the wet cold for nothing. Another customer and I waited at the hot food section for (what seemed like forever), a couple of weeks ago. Finally, an older Asian man slowly walked out to the front SCRATCHING HIS BELLY UNDER HIS SHIRT, then asking the person in front of me what he can help her with! I stayed there to see if he was gonna wash his hands, get some gloves on or even use hand sanitizer but no!!!! He reached for the container and that's when I made up my mind to leave. So then yesterday morning I decided to give them another chance, I only wanted to get a hot cup of coffee while I shopped, Well what do you know, a younger boy with long curly hair was waiting on customers and he also couldn't keep his damn fingers off his bangs. There were other workers going in and out from the back, wearing hair nets. Why didn't he have one on??? Seriously, I'm so done with Hyvee's hot food section.
