This location was not overly crowded considering the season. I was able to return, locate my item, lotion and get to self checkout within 15 minutes. This stores layout has been changed since I was last here but pretty easy to figure out it out. I did have a slight challenge using the gift card as some registers that indicated credit card only didn't seem to like that payment method. read more

had an Oil Change at this Super Walmart off 119th and Metcalf , the person who changed my Oil did not replace the engine drip cover and it came off while driving on the hi-way with my kids and scared us all , the noise was awful , the metal plate was dragging under my car . It was the Walmarts employees responsibility to do their job professionally and correctly and they failed . I will never return to this Walmart and I will tell everyone to beware of this Walmart, half ass job in Auto department. So disappointing, shame on you ! read more

I've been to three different stores, none of them changed out watch batteries any longer. This is no good.

Today I visit this store as I had a Dr's appointment close to it and I didn't want to go all the way to Gladstone and then back home. I was overcharged by the cashier for a bag of fish I didn't even get. She got all the thing I had an I did buy a 2lb bag of tilapia .. but she went ahead and charged a FZ tilapia for $16.97 I should have been more careful as a lady in front of me was overcharged by the guy next to us, who happened to to be a manager. I live by DT KCMO and I went to that store since it was so close to my Dr. I wanted to save me some trip time .. now they asked me to go back to see my receipt .. not sure that I will but BEWARE... if it happened to me and the lady right before me ( next register ), which we both happened to be Hispanics, I can just imagine how much extra money they are stealing from Customers that don't stop to check their receipt right after paying . It's sad to think that in the time I was there I saw a LOT of seniors .. and if they live in a fixed income and they get ripped off like at least 2 of us were within 10 minutes on 2 different registers ( one where the manager James was ), lots of ppl are being stiffed. read more

I have been calling this location for 3 WEEKS STRAIGHT, pushing every department extension, morning, noon and night and they refuse to answer the phone. There is an employee, last name Mayberry, who is a stocker and works overnight. His daughter is mother to my granddaughter and they have basically held her hostage from us. My granddaughter spends a considerable amount of time at his house (the last I heard) and I've been trying to contact her for the holidays. This is literally the worst Walmart in the entire world. Need groceries? There's like 1/75 of the normal amount of them. Hope your don't need anything specific. The meat is ALL frozen, no fresh fruit/vegetables. Need anything else? Probably available, don't trust the app inventory. This Walmart literally lights my soul on fire. I went to my local remodeled WalMart today in Overland Park. I went strictly to buy one item....a nail file... I know, not a big purchase. The health and beauty department now has glass doors on everything with no staff in the area to unlock the doors for a $1.98 item. I tried a trial on walmart to deliver dog food since it was too heavy for me. When it said it was delivered but it wasn't at my house. The picture the driver took wasn't my house. Yeah, this place is a no from me dog. As a total last resort, I had to make my way here and it's a jumbo-sized mess. The parking lot alone is enough to give me a mild panic attack, and the store is so, so massive that you'll get lost in the shuffle of mass-produced crap. I needed some bottled water for a party and they were out of nearly every single one. How?! I needed plastic cups for a party and they were also out. Not helpful. The final straw was when I got to checkout and there were almost all self-checkout (aka, they won't pay employees so they have us do it) and I had too much to do for that. I ended up waiting an uncomfortably long time to get out of here, then to dodge cars whizzing through the parking lot for a second time. I know Walmart's have a time and a place, but for me this one is one to avoid, especially in November and December. read more

Bought a new set of 4 tires from Walmart.com and included road hazard which included "expert installation". I paid online and order was placed. Set up the appointment online with no problem. Showed up early to drop my truck off and Service Greeter Matt C. took my info and instructions. I told him that the spare tire was on the truck and it had a slow leak "probably the valve stem since the spare hadn't been used ever". He agreed and said it would be $11 to repair. I accepted the charge no problem. Got a call the job was done and paid the $11 (it was the valve stem) and picked up my truck. Here's where the problem starts. I get home, review the receipt, and it says I declined road hazard. I called and said that I paid online for road hazard and was told to take it up with the e-commerce customer service. They see where I paid for road hazard but could not provide anything stating I was covered. Still fighting with who is responsible. Then, about a week later, I go to pick up a chair I bought, open and tailgate (I do have a bed cover) and there is my spare tire. How lazy is it not to put the spare back under the truck where it belongs? The techs were Carlos B. And Benjamin K. On top of that, the valve stem wasn't replaced. Avoid if possible. read more

I would give the store a -0 if it were possible because of the lady at customer service. She has worked there for years and refuses to give cash back for items returned that deserve cash back. I returned a defective TV to a different Walmart and they handed me $170 cash. I ordered this morning for grocery delivery tonight between 7pm-8pm. The driver drove by my address two times without stopping. I have his car on my security camera. He then parked somewhere and marked my groceries as arrived. Then my order was canceled. I've been waiting all day for my order. I've got a screenshot of his car parked in the wrong area and marking my order as arrived! I tried to calm him at some (426) area code and it said the number was not working! Then I got an email saying my order was canceled because oh "high demand." That's a complete lie. I paid for an annual membership and this is total crap. I do not come here often but when I do they always have everything I need be surprisingly the employees are friendly (not the case at every Walmart). While they rarely have enough lanes open, they do have the self checkout lanes which work really well. My biggest gripe is that trying to find assistance is like trying to find big foot. When you spot him better capture him and get everything you need because you never know when you will see another worker again. read more

No. Just no. For such a huge space I figured there would be tons of options for everything. But instead it was just a lot of a bunch of junk. Beer aisle small, notwithstanding the additional frustration of trying to figure out ridiculously strict Kansas laws on which foot you need to hop on and which Bible verse you have to quote in Aramaic before you allowed to purchase alcohol between the hours of 3:13 and 3:15pm on Tuesday. The pop tart selection is likewise abysmal - but less bureaucratic on when you can and can't purchase said delicious snack-treats. Everything else I looked for was out, sitting there in a fully wrapped package needing to be unboxed and placed on the shelf, or frustration took the helm and I decided I could live without this or that until the trip was over. Walmart is a whole special level of hell reserved for people who really, really have something bad custom-ordered for them. read more

The prices are great, and the selection is good. The site to store option is also good for those items not available in the store. The service at the checkouts is spotty. There's not a lot of attention paid to making sure enough checkout lanes are open, and only about half of the checkout staff are friendly. I select the friendly employees at checkout, and enjoy the great prices. read more

Went to Walmart for a laptop that was pried at another Walmart just down the street, and they would not sell me the laptop at the price the other Walmart had it priced at! The exact same laptop, same bar codes and we showed the the picture from the store. They would not even price match. Thanks to their competitor down the street and their remodel, their competitor no longer carries as many undershirts and offerings of underwear. So I was forced to go to Wal-Mart. Every time I go into Wal-Mart it is a brisk reminder of why I took so long to go back from the last time I was there. I found my undershirts easy enough. In fact, I found more than I came for. I found undershirt colors I really needed but never found else where! Then on to get my underwear.... The package in my size is all taped up and I knew it was something a customer returned because they didn't fit or whatever. It was the last package...10.97 for seven or I could get two 3 packs for 6.97 each. Dang near $14.00 to get two packages and not even equal the 7 pack. I pick up the taped up 7 pack and see pubic hairs on the underwear. HAIRS, mind you. Not just one. As if one would be enough, but still...they allowed this return and whoever packaged it back up didn't even see all those hairs? I show it to somebody who looks like she'd be a manager or at least somebody who might care. She looks at me like I announced, "I found twenty dollars on the ground!" I mean, she looks at me like, OK, and the problem is what exactly? Why are you telling me? I probe it forward towards her some more and say, "I don't think you should be selling underwear with pubic hairs on it." Still no cares in the world to be given. Another employee nearby just chuckles at this exchange. I toss it in an empty cart they have out to do their nightly stock load and I say, "Well, I am not going to buy it!" So I proceed to ask what they going to do about this. Will they give me two three packs for the price of one seven pack, or maybe slightly reduced since it's only 6 and not 7? I might as well have been trying to teach algebra to a chimpanzee. This employee is not getting it. She takes the seven pack and says, "Maybe they are just marks on them." She reaches in and PULLS OUT PUBIC HAIRS and says, "No, they are hairs." She seems unfazed she just touched pubic hairs. Yeah, no blank Sherlock. I ask, "Well, what are you going to do about it? These three packs are seven bucks each and that seven pack is ten bucks." She gets out a price sticker gun and prints out a seven dollar price tag, sticks it on the seven pack, and hands it back to me! "I don't want those!" "Well, you could wash them." At this point it was best for me to just leave and stop dealing with this fool. I would like to give this business ZERO stars, but they at least deserve one for the simple fact they have lowered the bar for me in all future experiences. A restaurant gets my order wrong? Well, at least there weren't pubic hairs on it. A clerk had a bad attitude at a store? At least there weren't pubic hairs being sold to me. Wal-Mart brings the lowest of the low every time. This store is truly the worst. And to think one employee acted like it was a joke, the other didn't see a problem with it, and no apologies or any effort to price match a substitute at all. Decided to check out this Walmart since I was in the neighborhood (on my way to the nearby Costco). I always forget it's there because it's rather hidden from view from the main streets (it's at the NE corner of Metcalf and 119th St.). The grocery section seemed nice -- decent and attractive selection of produce and a fair selection in the meat department. Not sure it's much better than the SuperTarget a couple of blocks away. While in the housewares department I found a couple of attractive throw pillows for my sofa that look like raw silk for only $10 apiece and I ended up picking up some things in the meat department, too -- since I'm usually cooking for one I don't need huge packages of stuff and Walmart actually had some moderately sized choices. Often things are only available in much larger "family packs" at some of the other supermarkets. I probably wouldn't make a pilgrimage to shop here, but if you're going to be in the 119th and Metcalf shopping area anyway and are hunting for bargains you should probably check out this Walmart along with the other stores in the area. This store is open 24 hours a day (although the pharmacy and a few sections do have closing hours). Good to know if you have a late-night shopping urge! And if you get hungry there's a 24-hour IHOP in the same shopping complex. Something else for night-owls! read more
