Ok so..... The customer service was a 10/10 in the hotel. The hotel staff made you feel like they really cared! The bar and restaurant not so much. Would give them a 4.5/10 in customer service. The food 0/10, The restaurant food not good and overpriced on both sides. Bar drinks were overpriced and not so good either. The room was a 7/10, the bathroom could have been better and the view they gave me I wasn't happy about. My room window was inside the entertainment room where they had back-to-back family reunions. I recently stayed at the Hyatt Centric New Orleans and overall thought it was a beautiful hotel in a great location. I was surprised, however, that the hotel did not have a generator when the power went out on July 4th. During the outage, no one checked on the guests, which was disappointing. Luckily, I wasn't traveling alone. We were also unable to check out the following morning because of the outage, and I just hope all of the final charges on my bill are accurate. What truly made the stay memorable were some of the employees. Josh, who worked valet, was absolutely amazing. He was always friendly, took the time to chat with us, gave us great recommendations for places to eat, and greeted us warmly every time he saw us. Unfortunately, some other staff members didn't even acknowledge us, so Josh's kindness really stood out. Eric, one of the bellmen, was another exceptional employee. I couldn't believe he was "just" the bellman because he seemed to be everywhere, helping everyone with a smile. He genuinely appeared happy to assist guests, and his positive attitude made a lasting impression. Daniel at the bar was also fantastic. He was welcoming, personable, and provided excellent service. On the other hand, my interaction with the valet manager was not pleasant. I'm not sure if she intended to come across as helpful, but her tone was very loud and felt aggressive. When we asked a simple question, her response made us feel like we were bothering her. The hotel itself is beautiful, but hospitality is what people remember most. Employees like Josh, Eric, and Daniel are the reason guests return. I truly hope Hyatt recognizes the value they bring because they made a significant difference in our overall experience. read more

In regards to Holmes, 1 of the eateries in the hotel, my experience wasn't the best. I don't appreciate trying to grab a quick lunch that took way too long with no effort to nicely greet me or check on me. It wasn't even crowded! But instead of being asked if I needed anything or how's the simple $25 lunch I ordered, I was just looked at every once in awhile and I guess was to assume that was my customer service. Great French Quarter location, beautiful clean rooms and the friendliest most helpful staff around. Hyatt Centric is a real gem hidden along Canal Street steps away from the quarter and all that Canal and uptown have to offer. The lobby was welcoming even when returning well past midnight while also feeling very safe. There are several food options with a great coffee bar breakfast spot and Bourbon House just out the back. Room rates are surprisingly affordable especially for the quality and location. read more

During my second week in NOLA in mid August, I switched up to this hotel. While I'll miss my time at the Barnett, I'm pleased with my stay here for several reasons with these being the main ones: 1. LOCATION! You're smack-dab in the french quarter section and surrounded by tons of great culture including restaurants/bars/shops. Everything was within walking distance including my night strolls to Pat O'Briens and whatever was on Bourbon Street. It's liberating stepping outside and knowing wherever you turn, there was gonna be something unique about the big easy that awaited you! 2. Amenities; There's an outdoor pool that has plenty of seating (although I prefer the Barnett's rooftop pool), a clean and bright exercise room, a restaurant/bar near the front desk that serves some pretty good drinks/eats, and a lobby area with some comfortable seating. 3. Customer Service; The employees from the front desk people, bellhops, bartenders, and valet parkers were all polite and accommodating. Part of the reason I love staying at Hyatts is how they value you being a member and staying with them. The love was felt and reciprocated! 4. The cleanliness and design of the room; I was on the second floor and my room was spacious with access to the courtyard area in case I wanted to enjoy the night sky. Bathroom is spotless with plenty of towels and the bed was comfortable. Valet parking is also here although pricy at $50/night. Definitely would stay here again! read more

I spent 4 nights here and just loved everything about this hotel. Location is great. The AC works well. They have happy hour M-F. Staff were so nice. Martha at reception was great. Jabari was so helpful and friendly. My room was spacious with a small shared balcony. Very quiet, my balcony faced the courtyard. It was unfortunately too hot during the day to enjoy, but I liked sitting in the evening, sipping a cocktail and reading a book. There is a daily 'resort' fee which I'm not too happy about. Included nothing I needed except 1 daily jazzy pass for the local trolley and bus. They have a pool which I didn't use but looked nice. read more

I'm currently staying at the Hyatt Centric French Quarter for a 3-night trip, and I'm already pretty disappointed with the experience so far. I was told the rooms were newly renovated, but our third-floor room facing Canal St doesn't reflect that at all. The layout is oddly shaped, the finishes look cheaply redone, and several things are already falling apart. The shower head is coming off the wall, there are stains on the ceiling lights, and only two outlets in the whole room actually work. Noise has also been a problem. Thursday night was quiet because of the rain, but Friday night was extremely loud -- music from outside started around 6pm and went until almost midnight. With how the hotel is built, I don't think the noise really stops on weekend nights. The TV won't connect to Chromecast even though it's advertised, so we haven't been able to use any streaming services. On top of that, valet is $50/night, which feels steep for what you get. The property itself is a maze. The lobby is beautiful, but once you get past that, everything feels old and musty. No water bottle refill stations anywhere, and while they offer complimentary bottled water, they only give them out one at a time -- which just feels unnecessary. I still have two nights left, but at this point the stay hasn't lived up to the Hyatt Centric name or the price. I'm hoping the rest of the weekend goes more smoothly, but I wanted to share my experience so far. read more

Great location, kind of creepy LOL. Stayed here for a work trip and it was an okay stay. The main lobby and bar area felt modern and updated but the rooms felt a bit outdated. My room looked out into a courtyard and the balcony was nice but it was a bit awkward that it was shared with the room next door so I didn't really go out there at all. The decor was so creepy - there was this big creepy artwork right in front of the bed and I hated it so much lol. A few of my coworkers heard weird noises throughout the night and one of my coworkers who was staying on the top floor said they heard scattering running/footsteps above her... we all basically got freaked out and further freaked each other out and couldn't wait to get out of the hotel lol! read more

If I could, I'd give a 4.5 star review but am rounding up. Overall, a really good one night stay. As a Hyatt Globalist, I was happy with my stay. The location cannot be beat if you want to be in the middle of it all in NO, being a block from Canal and Bourbon streets. Also, for Christmas they decorate nicely and offered complimentary wassail in the evening. All the staff I encountered, from valet, front desk, bellhop, bartenders were friendly and helpful. Prior to arrival I requested a quiet room and received a 4th floor (highest) corner room facing the interior courtyard. The room was extremely quiet, I didn't hear neighbors or street noise. The on-site restaurant, Holmes, was good. I had a light dinner (red beans, rice and a side salad) and breakfast (ham, eggs, fruit and coffee). At checkout the bill was accurate and valet was quick to bring my car around. The only area where improvement is needed is in the Holmes bar/restaurant area. While the bartenders are friendly they're very slow but it seems to be because they're understaffed. I'd definitely stay here again if I wanted to be near Bourbon. If you're a first time visitor, this would be a great choice. read more

The Hyatt Centric has a great location if you want to stay in the French Quarter but away from the craziness of Bourbon Street. You can easily walk to restaurants, shops, and attractions, and the hotel is connected to places like Red Fish and Hard Rock Café, which is convenient. The hotel itself is only four stories, but it feels like a maze -- probably because it's been renovated several times over the years. The elevators are surprisingly slow for such a small building. Our room on the 4th floor had high ceilings, which was nice, but there wasn't much of a view and we could hear street noise at night. What really surprised me was the $25 per night "destination" or "resort" fee that wasn't mentioned when we booked through a third party. For that price, I expected more amenities -- but the internet was slow, and the service was just okay. Overall, it's an average stay in a great location, but between the high price and extra fees, I'd think twice before staying again. read more

Stayed for 3 nights in room 485. Could not have been further from elevator, felt lost in a bad maze. Room was next to "associates only" service bay that was SO LOUD", daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 carts banged into the walls forcefully, loud talking and more noise than was necessary, literally sounded like construction. The room had not been thoroughly cleaned for a while. The bathtub was dangerously slippery, but mat was so disgusting did not use. The bathroom is smaller than a tiny closet and almost unusable. The Iberville exterior side of the building is dangerous, from the guy shooting up between the garbage cans and the "mini-gangs" of 4-6 shirtless guys hustling or high did not feel safe. Security might help. Valet was worthless, would not get off cell phones long enough to help us hail a cab. Never again and would not recommend. read more

This hotel and the Hyatt chain in general is showing its age in subtle ways. The main lobby and bar is very nicely done but the rooms and residential floors definitely have some minor but notable wear and tear issues. Check-in was weird and frustrating. Was offered online checkin via email, so I clicked on it, went to a website on my laptop browser, checked in successfully, including receivinga confirmation email later that my "room is ready." On arrival, I was told that 1) check-in was not completed, 2) I had to complete the process via the app, and 3) there was a $50 early check-in fee unless I did it via the app. After some arguing, the front desk clerk gave me early check-in for free, and they advised me to use the app next time for a smoother experience. Eh... this was not a good start. In other operational foibles, my original reservation email included a Destination Fee ($25+/night) but I had booked with a group which had negotiated that fee away, unbeknownst to me. So I budgeted for the Destination Fee and then on checkout, was told it wasn't applied, and was charged a lower balance than I expected. At least the balance was pleasantly lower, but clearly, their computer systems aren't keeping up with the times here. And I would have spent my money differently on this trip had I known. Some miscellaneous stuff: Older carpets on the residential floors inhibits roller luggage movement; elevators are slow and clanky, like from the 1980's or something. For remote work: Wifi was spotty (both the "public" and "guest room" ones), cutting out every several minutes for 30+ seconds at a time on my first day. In my room, there was no desk, but a shallow couch with a large-ish round cafe table in front of it. This was minimally ergonomically suitable for working on a laptop, but then there weren't easy electrical plugs nearby. I ended up at coworking spaces nearby, costing me ~$65 total during the three days I needed to work. On the plus side, the gym is reasonably well-equipped and spacious. I especially like that there's a cable machine, a pull-up bar, a couple of adjustable benches, and a reasonable selection of dumbbells. Enough versatility to get a full body weight lifting session in. Another plus is the lobby, which is quite beautiful and has nice vibes. Bathrooms: About standard for a mid-range hotel. Great customer service from start to finish. The Bell hop Eric was phenomenal. I would return on the strength of his customer service alone. Ashton was also great(Valet) and the entire valet staff. We had more interaction with them more than anything. Jabari was also kind and Raj at the bar was very nice and helpful. The rooms and entire facility were both beautiful and well-maintained. They offer complimentary drink vouchers at check in and there's pool access. The location is in great walking distance of bourbon and canal street. We were not made aware of the valet parking fee, self parking etc. We were not aware until checkout. There is self-parking available to sure of the fee however valet parking is $50/Nightly. Great eating places in walking distance. I would certainly return. There is a kitchen Available with great food and drinks. Their onion rings are phenomenal. Had a nice stay at Hyatt Centric. Aside from pricing, I also chose the hotel due to its location (specifically due to its close proximity to Acme Oyster House! haha and also maybe bourbon street). I love that they have an area where vehicles can load and unload properly and with shade too. The hotel is pretty much walking distance from our point of interests such as Court of Two Sisters, cafe beignet and du Monde, Royal St, Jackson Square, Acme, Bourbon st, French coffee truck, cafe fleur de lis and so much more! and after all that walk under the summer heat, man was it a life saver to have such a close hotel and be in an air conditioned room! They have a huge pool (which we didnt get to use) and rooms with balcony. Our room was at the opposite side of Acme so it was in a much quieter area at Iberville st. but if you prefer to see some hustle and bustle, it may be best to request one by Bourbon st. Maurice the music often plays live there too and it would be great to hear his music from the balcony. overall we really had a good experience at this hotel. Room was spacious and clean. No issues with with the restroom or with anything for that matter during our stay back in June 2023. Whew! read more

Beautiful hotel close to all the action literally. My husband and I came to New Orleans for our birthday ( yes, it is on the same day). We wanted to be able to walk to everything, so we chose Hyatt Centric French Quarters. Parking is tight, so we valet parked at the hotel for the duration of our stay. We stayed here for 3 days. The staff was friendly and professional throughout our entire stay. Hyatt has an app to check in upon arrival, so that part was fast, we were done at the front desk within 5 minutes. The hotel was Chic, with lots of beautiful artwork throughout. We had a king bedroom with a shared balcony overlooking Dauphine Street. Our room was spacious, with a modern art deco vibe. The balcony was nice to step out on to see what the weather was like since it rained throughout the day the entire time we were there. No complaints at all. The room was clean and comfortable. We had handcrafted drinks at the very nice bar in the lobby. The amicable bartenders gave us great suggestions on places to visit for live music. This was the best hotel experience I have had in New Orleans thus far. Customer service was exceptional from beginning to end. Hyatt Centric will definitely be my go-to on my next visit. read more

When we checked in yesterday they told us the room would be ready by 4pm. We came back at 4:30 and it still wasn't ready. We had to wait today. They cleaned our room took the soiled towels left us no fresh ones we called down to the desk. Nobody answered so we went down to the desk and ask for fresh towels, one hour later still no towels went down to the front desk. The receptionist lady behind the counter was very very very, very rude. I highly recommend you go someplace else do not stay in this hotel. read more

I booked this hotel due to its convenient location. Bourbon Street is literally the next block over and all the popular attractions around the French Quarter are walking distance. We stayed in a standard room with 2 queen beds. We were given a room with a balcony overlooking the courtyard but it's a shared balcony which is quite odd. The room is spacious with a sofa and high ceilings. I also took advantage of their gym which had treadmills, Peloton bikes, free weights, and cables. My one complaint is that the shower handle on the bathtub was misleading. The directions of the hot and cold water were opposite leading me to burn my back. If you're a Hyatt Globalist you receive complimentary breakfast for 2 people at the restaurant in the lobby daily. Parking around the French Quarter is scarce but there's a garage directly across the hotel. You can choose to self park there for $45/24 hours or valet which is essentially the same price. While I enjoyed my stay here, the service I (have not) received from the finance department has been terrible. I've been trying to resolve a discrepancy on my hotel bill for the last week now. I have called 5 times and left 2 voicemails and still have not received a called back. read more

The location was the best part about it. The room was pretty quiet although the bed wasn't very comfortable and I forgot that a king size mattress is shorter in height so my feet hung off about a foot cuz I'm tall. The shower head was tall enough and they don't gip you with cheap liquid soap, but they do with the toilet paper. And with the fees! There are six added fees and taxes, plus an additional $50/night in case they want to charge you for incidentals. You get some free drink tickets and it's understandable why - the bartenders don't know how to make basic drinks. We booked for two nights and then called back the next day to extend it to three. The front desk staff made a real hassle about it. We didn't know if we could stay in the same room for the third night until we checked in. We had a view of the courtyard so pretty much just a brick wall - I requested a view to the outside. The area that the hotel was in was really sketchy but we found that to be the whole district. Aside from the homeless doing drugs down the street or people puking on the sidewalk right outside the hotel, it was a nice spot. They had a decent gym and a decent pool but it wasn't heated and no hot tub. We'd try another hotel in the future. read more

Staff is great and extremely helpful! Eric by far was the most memorable of everyone! I'd see him every morning at the door and he was always asking if we needed directions anywhere! Loved his energy. He was super friendly and nice! 5 stars if it was based on the staff only! I have to give it 4 stars mainly because the noise level at night was insane. Granted it was mainly in weekend since everyone is out and about so it's expected. I just figured it would stop around 2-3AM but there were times I'd hear it until almost 5AM! Sunday was the best sleep since it was all calm and quiet. Overall this place was in a great location- (minus the noise level) it's close to touristy things that are very easy to walk! It's clean! Some things are a little outdated like the pool area some of the tiles were wobbly and pool had quite a bit of bugs. But other than that everything else was great! My favorite part is the room we stayed in had high ceilings which made the room feel bigger! As well as their onsite gym was super nice! WARNING: DO NOT BOOK HYATT CENTRIC FRENCH QUARTERS NEW ORLEANS! THEY SCAMMED ME! Hyatt Centric is rude and unreliable! If you book a room, and pay in full, they will cancel it last minute!!! I had booked Hyatt Centric 10 months in advance and paid in full. My dream was to celebrate Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and I wanted to have a balcony room on Bourbon Street. I paid $1,051 for two nights in a balcony room. I flew to New Orleans last Monday and right when I arrived at the airport, I got a missed call and text from the hotel manager Maya Terrance that my room was no longer available due to "unforseen issues". I was absolutely LIVID! I cannot believe that this trip that I had been planning for 10 month and PAID IN FULL was being ruined. I have a feeling that they overbooked the hotel and they probably sold my room to someone else. We had friends that decided to go to New Orleans too for Mardi Gras and I had even referred them to the Hyatt so that we both could have balcony rooms next to each other. Even though they booked 8 months after me, their reservation wasn't cancelled and only mine. They made up a fake excuse that there was an "engineering issue", however when I finally arrived at the hotel, I saw people partying on the balcony in the room I had booked. They're the worst company to be working in the hospitality industry. I will never refer the Hyatt again to people. Make sure to not book at a Hyatt hotel! read more

Stayed here for a recent bachelorette trip and had an overall great experience. Our group of 5 was able to easily fit into their petite suite - 2 queen beds, 1 sectional couch, and 1 bathroom. The room also came with a mini fridge and a desk along with some water bottles for purchase. The large ceilings also made the room feel really big. PROS: + so central in the French quarter! If you're planning to hit the bars on Bourbon, shopping near Jackson Square, or walking along the river, everything is walkable from here. + they have a bar and cafe in the lobby area for your early morning and late night drinks + the rooms are really clean and spacious and the AC is truly a life saver CONS: - it's a beautiful hotel but you can tell it is old in some places. The bathrooms don't have that "new" look but it has what you need. - the elevators are slow and so creaky. Like sometimes, it would dip before actually moving. It's giving tower of terror lol. - the pool is not very large and it's in the middle of a courtyard so you basically could have the people in the surrounding rooms just looking down at you. Because it's in tbe courtyard, a lot of the sun gets blocked too. On our first night, there was a cocktail convention in town so they had guest bartenders pop up and they were sampling cognac in the lobby. They also did yoga classes on the Saturday morning. If you're planning to spend a lot of time in the French Quarter, it doesn't get any better than the Hyatt Centric! True to its name, the location is close enough to all of the action within walking distance and just minutes away from all the tourist hotspots and restaurants. While only a block away from the famously loud Bourbon Street, there are a variety of rooms you can request for differing noise levels, depending on your preference. I understand the balcony rooms can get loud, which is why we requested a quiet room. The trade off was there was no view as it was an interior room overlooking the conference gathering room, but that was fine with us. The room was spacious enough for two people and cleaned well. And the bed was pretty comfortable alhough the pillows could've been fluffier. Housekeeping did a good job on making sure our room was tidied up and the towels and linens overturned each day. Bathrooms were decent with the water pressure working great, which is important considering the multiple showers we had to take each day after walking around in the NOLA heat and humidity each day. The main lobby is tastefully decorated with plenty of stylish Art Deco elements, including the gorgeous bar which serves amazing cocktails. Great location within walking distance to everything. Upon arriving we were greeted by Eric. He was great! If he's working during your stay, he will definitely take care of you. The room was clean & spacious. The king size bed was comfortable. My only complaint was I was given a room with an adjoining door. I was a little nervous about that & I could hear the other guests. Fortunately they were quiet when it was time for bed & I slept very well. Overall my stay was wonderful & I look forward to to returning. read more
