My favorite companion and I spent several nights at the Hyatt Centric Wall Street, and were very impressed. We were warmly greeted on (early) arrival with fresh baked cookies, fruit and coffee - a lovely morning touch. The lobby was large, well appointed and full of comfortable seating. The WALL is on the wall, and so are other iconic NYC pictures. Our 16th floor room was lovely and larger than typical NYC hotels. The housekeeping department (thank you, Lina!) did a consistently phenomenal job keeping the room stocked with toiletries, washcloths, hand and bath towels. We are predawn risers, and could not wait until 0600 am for our morning brew. The hotel was happy to provide us with a coffee / tea maker at no extra charge. Bottled water was available every day just for the asking as well should you forget something, there's a Duane Reade across the street obtain forgotten deodorant, toothpaste and the like. The bathroom was large and beautiful, especially the rain shower that was perfect temperature every time, even on this high floor. One tip: Be judicious in trying to warm up a cool room when you get here. From November 'til mid-April only the Heat works. AC cannot be engaged. Once it's hot in the room, it is difficult to adjust down without opening the window and letting in flying insects. Recommended. read more

I stay within the Hyatt family and my choices were between Hyatt Centric and the Gild for our preferred location. I went with Hyatt Centric since there didn't seem to be 4 person rooms available at the Gild at the time I booked, and Centric had reasonable pricing. Hyatt Centric is in a great location in the Financial District. The closest subway entrance is for lines 2 and 3, which is just a few minutes walk away. It's very easy to find. Calling Ubers wasn't a pain. My party arrived around 9am after a red eye and luckily, a 2-bed room was already ready. The rooms are very spacious-- enough to accommodate 4 luggages without feeling too cramped. At first, it smelled like fresh paint but it went away after turning on the air. The double beds were comfortable. There were only 2 pillows per bed and they were so flat, I had to fold them to make it more comfortable. There were 2 free water bottles ready in the room. I appreciated the mini fridge, the iron/ironing board already available, the blackout curtain options and importantly, the sliding full body mirror by the closet. There were no coffees/teas. WiFi was decent. Expect to hear construction and traffic noise early in the morning-- this is not the hotel's fault, just an NYC thing so bring ear plugs if that bothers you. The bathroom was spacious also, but it could've used a couple more towel hooks outside the shower (the towel rack is inside the shower, under where the toiletries go so the towels would've gotten wet if we left them in). It also could've used an extra shelf under the sink to put toiletries on. The sliding door to the bathroom doesn't close all the way (it wasn't broken, it seemed like it was just the way it's built) and there was no noise control at all. I found it weird that the wall that's shared between the bedroom and the bathroom has this translucent glass, so you can see the silhouette of someone showering. Otherwise, I appreciated the little amenities available like shower caps. The fitness room was located in the bottom floor. I took a quick glance at it and it seemed cleaned. There were multiple cardio machines and a separate weight room with dumbbells. On the same floor, the bathrooms for men and women required a key card to get in and they were always clean. There's no pool at this hotel and I'm unsure about the spa services. There were 2 restaurants called Wall and Water and Centric Bar and Grill. I didn't get to check them out since we were mostly out and about. I received great service from the front desk to the housekeepers during my 5 day stay here. Every time I requested for something over the phone (mending kit, more towels, etc) it would be delivered within 15 minutes. This hotel is not for those looking for a 5-star accommodation. This is for those looking for a convenient location that's close to many establishments. Overall, I'd stay in this hotel again for the convenient location and the spacious rooms! read more

Down sides were that you can hear cars from the street level and the plumbing in our room's bathroom had leaky faucets. I spent two nights at the Hyatt Centric on Wall Street, courtesy of the National Book Foundation. The hotel was right around the corner from the Cipriani, where I got to attend the National Book Awards, and I appreciated that I could walk there with heels and no jacket on a November night in New York. I liked the hotel for other reasons, too (especially since I wasn't the one paying). The woman at reception was friendly, even as she told me my room wasn't ready after I came in off my red eye. She offered me a room with two twin beds if I really needed the early check-in, but I declined in favor of washing up and changing my clothes in the downstairs bathroom. This wasn't especially pleasant (the bathroom could've used a piece of furniture, where a weary traveler might set down a coat or a backpack without having to hang everything in a stall), but afterward, I went up to the lounge, which was quite comfortable. I got a text from reception at a reasonable time, and was able to go to my room for a few minutes before lunch. The Hyatt Centric is a downgraded Andaz, and it was both nicer and more dysfunctional than expected. The decor was attractive, and everything looked good, at least at first glance. Our room was spacious, especially by New York standards, and the bed was comfortable. It was clear, though, that the hotel was downgraded instead of getting an expensive renovation. We had a weird empty drawer, which is where the complimentary snacks would have gone in the Andaz days. More saliently, the shower door didn't close all the way, running aground on the stone floor with an unpleasant crunch. Worse still, the hot water was temperamental. My husband and I both took cold or lukewarm showers. If you want a hot one, your best bet is to take one early in the day. Otherwise, though, we enjoyed our stay and thought it worked well for our purposes. I'd recommend the Hyatt Centric if you're looking for a hotel on Wall Street. The shower might not be 100%, but hey, this isn't an Andaz. read more

We were able to check in early, which in hindsight should have been a red flag. When we arrived, the front desk informed us that the air conditioning was out in the entire hotel--on a sunny, 80+ degree day in NYC. They acted as though this had just happened, but when we looked back at recent reviews, we saw that the AC had been out at least a week earlier. Their only suggested solutions were to open the windows for fresh air (which barely open half an inch) or call down for a fan if the room became too hot. Our room was immediately stuffy and uncomfortably warm. When we called for a fan, we were told we'd be added to a waitlist--no fans were available. If the hotel knew the AC was down heading into summer, they should have taken proactive steps, like ordering enough fans for every room. Instead, they chose not to communicate the issue in advance and offered no real remedy upon arrival. This stay felt deceptive and careless. Would not recommend, and we won't be returning. read more

I stayed here when it was getting colder in New York. Everything was going perfectly until (I was told) another guest complained it was too cold in her room. Apparently the hotel uses a uniform heating system that doesn't allow AC to be used when the heating gets turned on. Consequently, my room became very hot to the point that it felt like an oven. When I contacted the front desk they sent maintenance up who told me I could open the window to cool myself off. At least I had that option, because not all hotels do. On a positive note I did like the view from my room, and enjoyed being able to walk by where parts of Wolf of Wall Street was based on. If you are staying here in the winter and have a preference for a cooler temperature while you sleep I would not recommend staying here. read more

Honestly, the bathroom did it for me all black bathroom, huge mirrors, vanity, mirror, wonderful bath, products and toiletries, thick towels I'm all about the towels. the daily turn down service. The room was wonderful. It was clean. I love the hardwoods. I really like my bed. It was not as comfortable as my bed at the Hyatt and Flushing, but it was still comfortable and the pillows were huge. I appreciated the mini fridge. The view wasn't awful either. The front desk could have been nicer and more welcoming. They also should have clear signage outside. There's a residential building right next-door and you can see all the people confused between the residential building in the hotel. Very modern and updated hotel has a nice lobby and bar. Near major train lines. Near the stock exchange. Across the street from Duane Read. And near many restaurants. As well as near the south street seaport. read more

As I had an travel plan at 2024 sep, I wanted to reserve 3 nights at sep, but, I accidently made an reservation of 2024 december. After I realize my mistake, I sent a cancellaton request in that day; but it was declined. Later I sent a modification request to other schedule of decemer; then, it was declined. I had an incredibly distressing experience at Hyatt Centric Wall Street. After I checked out of my room in late March, I realized I left my iPad at the hotel room I contacted the hotel to check the lost and found and the staff told me nothing was found. I used the iPad every night while I was at the hotel and know for a fact that I left it in my hotel room on the bed, likely it was under the cover since I missed packing it. However, when I reported the missing iPad to the hotel management, instead of showing any concern or attempting to help, they accused me of lying and insisted that I never left the iPad in the room. They defended the staff that they would never do such a thing as stealing customers items left behind. This iPad was one of the first generations so it couldn't be tracked so they had the perfect excuse not to pursue it. The situation worsened when, just yesterday, I received an alert that someone from Chongqing, China, was attempting to sign into my Apple ID. This confirmed that my iPad had indeed been stolen and likely sold off by someone on the hotel staff. The hotel's blatant disregard for my concerns and the complete lack of accountability from their management is appalling. If you value your belongings and expect decent customer service, I strongly advise you to stay far away from this hotel. Spent memorial weekend in NYC and found a great deal on Andaz. I've stayed at Andaz Maui before and loved it but was a bit skeptical about staying on Wall st. However decided to take a chance since most workers in the financial district would be gone. I'm so glad i took the chance because the stay was amazing. It was on a quiet street and the room was stunning! The mini bar was free, 24/7 coffee water in the lobby and happy hr in the lobby! The room was spacious, lots of storage room, window seating to lookout, rain shower and comfy bed! It's very close to joe n juice, la Colombe, Wall st, freedom tower, 9/11 memorial Only downside was it is a bit of a walk to the subway..only 5-8 min walk but i enjoyed that it was only 2 stops from SoHo and Chinatown. It was my first stay at the hotel. I would like to list Pro's and Con's. Pro's: * Front desk personnel - everyone I interacted was very friendly and also helpful. * Spacious room - I liked the high ceilings. My room was Andaz Suite, so it was bigger than regular guestrooms, but the high ceilings made the space even bigger (felt like). Also, liked the huge bath tab...unusual to have a bathtub at NYC hotels in general and it's small even if there's one. * Coffee, water, snack, etc setup in the lobby area throughout a day - nice touch! * Location - I was a bit worried being in too 'lower' Manhattan, but subway stations are nearby. * Long brunch hours at the restaurant weekends Con's: * Noise from street level - you can hear car honking through windows. Maybe because my room was on the 10th floor? * Mini bar refill - they were supposed to refill everyday, but for some reason they did not... * Restaurant serves only buffet - limited ala carte items may be ordered through room service. I heard it was temporarily while part of the restaurant/behind the lobby area was under renovation/repair...? 3.5 stars. I generally stay in mid-town, so it was nice staying somewhere new - close to the pier, The Battery, Brooklyn bridge, Chinatown, and not too far from Tribeca and SOHO. The room was relatively nice, and also very minimal - no coffee, tea, bottled water, or even a small coffee table. No room service. Bigger than any NYC hotel that I've ever stayed. Staff were quick to respond and nice, while also not going out of their way. It's a good find for someone who wants a nice clean room and wants to be left alone. read more

It's also a nice touch to have the blinds automatically go up and down right from your bedside. 2) the rooms are big by nyc standard and modern--this hotel used to be an Andaz. 3) the front desk is always nice, helpful, and accommodating. Same goes with the breakfast folks. 4) the downside is the hotel is down by Wall Street, but I go out of my way to stay there even though it isn't quite convenient to where I do business in the city. I adore Andaz hotels because of their complimentary mini bars of snacks and drinks! It presents and gives the whole hotel a warm, hospitable welcome and stay! The first Andaz I stayed in was in Napa wine county so it set the standards of this Andaz hotel. The sparkling water is great and I'm liking the wines down in the lobby during happy hours. The tea bags are wonderful and they don't skimp on the quality. Their architecture is admirable with contemporary designs and neutral lightings. Corner suite was spacious and nicely structured. The layout was nicely divided to the settings accordingly. Breakfast was yummy and they have a gym for running and sweating off the many delights. I am giving this hotel one star with a caveat. The hotel itself is in a great location, clean and modern, and at a very reasonable price for Manhattan. I immediately called the front desk and was told that the manager was away and that I should call back. They did inform me that I cracked the TV in the room that I never even touched. Fishy. They were very rude and dismissive. Double hmm. The very next call was to my credit card to report fraud followed by Hyatt to file a claim. The Andaz Wall Street could have been a four star property, however, the hotel is showing some wear and left a few things to be desired. I booked my Saturday night stay with airline points, and I'm really glad I did that because spending more than $200 out of pocket would have left me feeling salty. I still had to pay the $35 resort fee; this is a newish trick from NYC hotels that comes with touristy "perks" that I likely would never utilize. Before my stay, I noticed a lot of reviews that mentioned issues with the AC. I hoped this might be something that was rectified before my visit, but that was not the case. As I read in other reviews, there were large fans in the hallways and the room AC didn't seem to be working. The thermostat said 68 degrees, but if I had to guess I'd say the temp was closer to 80. I practically broke out into a sweat just getting changed. I'm so glad I did my hair and makeup at home in Philly before arriving to NYC, because that would have been a whole problem. I did enjoy the space and brightness of the room. I liked the wood floors with area rug which felt clean and modern. The bathroom was mostly black, which I didn't love. I also hate when the mini bottles of shampoo and lotion aren't sealed. I could tell the lotion in our room was not new which grossed me out; I was happy I had packed some things from home. Simply put, I expect more from an Andaz hotel. All this said, the staff were awesome. Right after checking in, a gentleman swung by to see if we needed anything extra for our mini bar, so we were able to score a couple OJs for the morning (non alcoholic beverages are complimentary, as are the snacks, which consisted of a couple granola bar type items). Later, when I needed a safety pin, one of the front desk gentleman tracked down a travel sewing kit, which contained said pin. At check out, we met another very nice woman (maybe a manager?) who offered us bottled water for our travels. I'm grateful for the hospitality of the staff, but I likely would not stay at this particular property again unless the above issues were fixed. read more

I stayed here for a few nights with my boyfriend. We got a high floor king suite, which was very large, but my main complaint is that the room didn't get enough sunlight and being in the room sort of made me feel depressed. The mattress was also not great quality (no feeling of depth) and the pillows fell flat immediately upon resting my head on them. The bathroom sink was not very user friendly for washing your face, but there was plenty of counter space which I always look for in hotels. I also liked that there was both a standing shower and a bathtub. The staff is all very nice, and all the items in the minibar (except alcohol) are free and restocked daily. You can also get a cookie from the lobby if you're hungry. I did have to ask twice for some things after calling the front desk though. Overall I'd say it's a good hotel. read more

I stayed here for two nights in a suite; it was clean, modern and comfortable. I'd definitely recommend opting for a suite if you can, because I saw my friend's room and it was pretty cramped. The suites are spacious, though, with high ceilings, (almost) floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows, and a sitting area with an extra TV. My only complaint would be the lack of variety in room service options, although the egg tagliatelle was delicious enough that I'd say it's all you really need. read more

First time staying this far south in Manhattan. It was an interesting change in scenery but I found the area more noisy and it kept me up at night and I never felt that way at the grand Hyatt by grand central station. The hotel is ok as there are pros and cons from below but I can't say I would come running back mainly due to the noise. Staff were nice and rooms were clean. Pros: - near the 2, 3 train about 4 min walk and 4,5 train about 6 min walk - Duane reade across the street and near lots of coffee and juice shops and other casual pick up eateries - free fridge bar except for alcohol - water, sparkling water, orange juice, pop, granola bar and chocolate. - free wine in the lobby at set hours (Merlot and Chardonnay when I was there) and cookies in the lobby as well as coffee and tea bar 24/7 Cons: - on a higher level floor but heard honking and sirens throughout the night. For some reason it's a noisy area. - temperature control is weird - you have to turn the system completely off (or so we were told) to manage the heat. The heat seems to be on or off no matter what you set the temperature at which was not relayed to us so we kept trying to turn the temp down but was boiling in the room one night. -bathroom is all in black tile which I am not a fan of - hard to see dirt. - platform bed is firm. Not terrible but it's firm and you really can't feel the other person move cause the mattress is so firm! - lighting is very dim in the room. I am so blown away at the condition of this hotel room. The linoleum, faux wood floors were literally loose and peeling up. We cut our foot on the piece pictured. The walls were damaged, the shower was impossible. The restaurant downstairs was closed the majority of the weekend. The heater in the room was stuck on and we had to literally open the window to sleep in February. It was an all around horrible experience. I will say the staff was absolutely wonderful and the lack of care taken to keep up this hotel is was not their fault. I will never be back and would ever anyone from staying here while in Manhattan. read more

Check in process is a little silly... they're trying to be Apple Store-like with no counter and agents walking around with iPads, but they still needed to go over to a bank of computers... not an improvement. Their revolving door was sticky so someone was tasked with standing by the door to help you move it, why not just get it fixed? I was there for over 4 days... no change. They lost my reservation for the first night so on arrival I had a harrowing wait to see if I still had a room. Fortunately it ended up not being a serious problem, just a 20 minute delay when I was utterly exhausted. The room itself was pretty cool. Comfy bed, clean sheets, quiet. Also the proximity to the NYSE was clutch since I had an early morning start there. Without the above quirks and hiccups I would have given it 4 stars. read more

I felt like there was another earthquake within the walls of this dump. The room set up was also strange and looked like the last time it was updated was the 80's. Simply WONDERFUL, Very modernize hotel at a walkable distance to the Financial district. The check in went smoothly and the staffs were all very friendly. How great is it have free snacks and beverages(excludes alcohol) in your room. The WIFI was kind of slow, couldn't stream videos but surfed the web without a problem. The room itself is very clean and neat. The wall control can access all lights in the room. Like most hotel they have mini size soup bar, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, shower cap, Q Tips, cotton balls. There is no bathtub but instead a mini chair to sit on. They also provide bathrobes and slippers. Had no problem with any sound population from other rooms and if so they also had free ear plugs by the bed. I like how considerate the hotel is; by the entrance of the hotel are umbrellas for their guests incase if rains and a computer(Mac) for printing out boarding pass. Thanks to my company, we stayed here for a night due to bad weather conditioning and needed to be at work the next morning. Very beautiful hotel in the heart of the financial district and literally two blocks from my job. The staff here are beyond excellent and ridiculously helpful. I love both the interior and exterior design of this hotel. Their lobby is spacious, welcoming, and wow! Oh yes! The snack bar in the lobby is the best! They had a variety of interesting selection of coffee and tea brands. Their cappuccino is delicious! My favorite is the big fat cookie glass jar packed with fresh chocolate chip cookies. I love the fact that I checked in, grab myself some snacks and easily transition to my room. My room was near perfect!!! Their beds are comfy and refreshing. They have big closets and a nice size of television. I spent a a good amount of time in the shower and fancy the bathroom set up from the smell of the shampoo, conditioners, body lotion, hand soap, and a ton of accessories we women find appealing! Thumbs up! Don't be afraid to spoil yourself at the mini bar. Nice treats and it's free except for the alcohol. They also have a restaurant onsite, but I didn't have the opportunity to try it out. However, two blocks from the hotel you can make your way to stone street and choose from a large selection of bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. If it's a nice night, walk over and admire the Hudson River and stunning view of Jersey city! You'll be perpendicular to the Colgate clock. Great experience! read more

I stayed here January 29 - 30, 2018 for a work trip. There is some good to mix in with the bad for this hotel. The good is it is reasonably priced, located conveniently near the financial district, the shower head puts out a lot of water, and the staff are friendly. The bad, however, outweighs the good and I hope to not stay in this hotel in the future. It is beyond loud in the room, so much so it is impossible to get a good night's sleep. I was on the 15th floor and you constantly heard street noises 24/7 such as horns, sirens, and the back up beep of various delivery trucks. For the two nights I was here, sleep was hard to do (and I thought I could sleep through anything). You can also hear every shower, toilet flush, and turning on the sink of the rooms above, below, and next to you. The room has a faux wood laminate on the floor that was not glued down and rises and squeaks with each step across the room and the two chairs masquerading as furniture - while looking trendy and modern - have no functionality as they are not comfortable. To top it all off, the bathroom was never cleaned very well as old soap rings from bar soap and the shampoos were left from previous occupants of the room in the shower. Pretty gross. If none of that bothers you, this hotel is your place as you will save some money. On the other hand, if you enjoy a good night's sleep and require the basic cleanliness you typically expect from hotels I would give this one a wide pass. read more

Front the onset of our arrival we were greeted by two wonderful front desk workers (with nice nails). Easy check-in, great information on the restaurants attached and directions to get to the roof top restaurant. Clean and quaint room ... a lil small but hey it's NYC... Pros: room quality particularly the bathroom, staff, extras. Cons: none, (possible: location if you're more of an uptown tourist). Prior to check-in, front desk staff was easy to deal with over the phone. As a WOH member, the staff more happily accommodated both early check-in (10:30 AM!) and late check-out (2 PM). They did hold my luggage before and after check-in, happily. Lobby is very nice, not gorgeous but the coffee is good and they had snacks out occasionally. Check-in: fabulous. Room is beautiful, it's true that they provide complimentary soda and snacks in the room. Bathroom is gorgeously rendered in black slate. Beautifully connects to the room. Lights in the room are kinda squirrelly but if you're there for a few days you'd probably get the hang of it. The blackouts in my room were controlled by a switch which I loved. Bed was firm (maybe not "Grand Hyatt" bed?), however like many Hyatt's you can request gel pillows to employ during your stay. I'd happily return. read more

Loved my stay here. * Great bedroom sizes, we were given corner rooms of the view of the city. * Free snacks (cookies) and refreshments in the lobby while you wait. * Cool pens to write with when you get to your room. * Lighting is nice, wish shower side was more private (completely see through) * Staff and hotel were very accommodating, brought Harney & Sons tea, extra bath supplies and slippers for us. Experiences may vary -- Would highly recommend for business, party or intimate get togethers. read more

The hotel itself was beautiful. Staff was great. Room was clean and comfortable. The one downfall was the noise from the street. The car honking and police sirens were heard from our ninth floor room. read more

The front desk was super nice when we checked in and extremely helpful with helping us get around town on the train with the track constriction going on. Room was neat and clean. I loved the 6pm wine hour and complimentary snacks and beverages included in the room. Will be staying here again! read more
