124 Old Rabbit Club is a really cool spot! We randomly ended up here on a Saturday night around 10:45pm after grabbing a quick slice at Joe's Pizza. Our party of four got the last available seats. We only stayed for one drink, but it was memorable. I loved the decor and ambience. Definitely unique. If you're in the area, I'd recommend stopping in and checking this place out.

5 stars for cool underground speakeasy vibe. 5 stars for making me feel like I'm in the Matrix. 5 stars for service. 1 star for being nearly impossible to locate. 1 star for only serving wine and beer. There's no liquor served here. But if you want an adventure, and want wine or beer, follow the white rabbit.

#124. The hidden entrance! Follow the yellow steps and enter to the right of the bunny for plenty of craft beer.

I love this hidden gem on MacDougal Street. Although there isn't much seating and the drinks are rather expensive, this hidden speak easy like club is a home away from home for any Alice and Wonderland fanatic. Price: $$-$$$ Food: Limited Menu Seating: Limited Bathrooms: Men's and Women's, Customers Only! Beer/Wine: Huge craft beer list, fantastic wine list, NO SPIRITS.

    Interesting beer label.

What a fun place. It is considered a speakeasy. You go downstairs to a dark small bar. The music is great. The bartender was very friendly. I would definitely go back.

This bar is a gem on Macdougal street. It's fairly non descript on the outside and actually difficult to find. It's very dimly lit on the inside with a more hushed vibe. A few lights here and there with some candle lighting as well. It's fairly warm inside because there was a large heater near the entrance wall. Large selection of Belgian beers and other beers with a fairly limited wine selection. I went with the Trappistes Rochefort 10, which is a Belgium Quad. I don't think I've ever paid this much for a bottled beer before, but I do love my strong dark ales. It always has such a smooth, full bodied, low in bitterness taste and yet it's significantly stronger than your average beer. (This quad was 11.3%) One thing that stood out to me was sitting at the end of the bar allows you to see all the way down the dimly lit bar. This corner spot is also good for a group of 3/4. Makes it much easier to speak to one another. Bartenders here were friendly and never pressured us to order more.

Interesting bar. Dark, small and crowded - but worth the visit! Lots of Belgian beers and one friendly bartender. Although it was a busy night, he managed to still be pleasant. It can be uncomfortable to stand if you aren't able to get a seat. This is only because of how small the space is. You will get to know the person next you well.

Good beers and super nice bartender. We ended up shutting it down here after a show at comedy cellar. Great spot, good music, we'll be back.

All the drinks keep with the tropical, fruity taste with a hint of spice. They are also broken up into categories (dry land = no alcohol, shallows = average amount of alcohol, and abyss (larger amounts of alcohol). The abyss section has some cocktails that are limited to two per customer. They have some bar bites like fried green tomatoes, shrimp toast, broiled oysters, ricotta, dumplings, sliders. I had the French fries with kimchi ranch, which were underwhelming. Bartenders were cool and kept the drinks coming. The chicken cutlet and chicken dumplings were fine but I probably wouldn't order them again. The wait staff weren't super attentive nor super warm, but they were efficient when we asked for water refills, etc. There was ample standing room at the bar while we waited for our friends, but the table/booth that we sat at was super narrow, I was knocking knees with my friend all night and generally felt squished.

Calling him a bartender almost feels like an understatement--he's a true cocktail craftsman. I was amazed watching him create drinks based simply on a few words or flavors we mentioned. It felt less like ordering a cocktail and more like collaborating on one. Of course, he also nailed the classics. The Clover Club and Gimlet were both perfectly executed, and my husband tried three different whiskey cocktails throughout the evening and loved every single one. The atmosphere is exactly what you hope for from a speakeasy: dark, intimate, and unassuming. The space is small, which adds to the experience, although the bar stools are definitely not designed for settling in for a three-hour hang (my only minor complaint). But honestly, that probably helps keep the experience moving and allows more people to enjoy this special spot. Attaboy is a great example of why NYC has such a legendary cocktail scene. The drinks, the craftsmanship, and the personal attention make it clear why this place gets so much attention. We'll absolutely be back.
