Located within easy walking distance of the Seattle Center (site of the Space Needle and Climate Pledge Arena), the Hyatt House Seattle/Downtown is a roomy and comfortable place to stay when in the Seattle area. My wife and I used a Hyatt free night certificate for our one night (it is considered a Category 4 so the cert applied), and found the upgraded room and staff to be just right. This Hyatt House opened in 2014, and most of the facilities were modern (except one of the two elevators was broken during our stay, making elevator waits longer than normal). We checked in about an hour before the normal 4 pm check-in time, and got upgraded to a 1 bedroom King for the night. The living room had a kitchenette (electric cooktop, sink, dishwasher, microwave, and mini fridge) with plates and utensils. It also had a small desk with a real chair, a closet, small flat screen TV, and a sectional sofa. The adjoining bedroom had a King bed, similar flat screen TV (with a lot of basic cable channels) and an average bathroom with large walk-in glass shower. Like many other non-luxury hotels these days, housekeeping is done at the end of the stay unless specifically requested. In the morning, went down to the complementary breakfast. The dining space is huge, with plenty of open seating. The buffet was OK, with a few hot items and many more cold items. I did appreciate the ability to make your own breakfast burrito (always a plus for me when salsa is offered for breakfast). We could have stayed until 14:00 (which was offered without me even asking), but needed to leave a lot earlier to arrive at the airport with plenty of time to spare (it's about a 1:15 trip if taking the train, costing $7 total for each person). Checkout was via the Hyatt app which worked well, and the subsequent email confirmed that the visit had cost me nada. read more

Yes and yes again. It's right across from the space needle . I'm not familiar with the area , it was easy for us to travel around . The space needle . The ghiluly glass museum was quite a thrill. The hotel is neatly adorned with, my room had a view of the needle . It was large and cozy. I got the studio. It was big enough - very large actually. A big king bed a sitting area and a place to cook if I needed to .. for a longer stay . Breakfast downstairs was good with plant if seating . The staff was really nice .. and I mean that. Very helpful and accommodating. The elevator , one of them was in the fritz. It was a little delay getting up and down . That was my only issue . Seattle is freaking cold . Cold cold. It's not a joke - we went for the Seattle Rams game and once the sun went down it was 20 degrees. My room was nice and warm and had a great view.. I will be back. Great little Hyatt hotel that's super close to walking to all the tourist attactions. The parking is what's crazy pricey, in that it's $50 if you want to pay right inside the garage next to it... if you are willing to walk a few blocks it's only $30. Inside the room suites are pretty nice but we were placed right next to the monorail. Which is still relatively quiet, but when we had the windows open I think that we definitely caught eyes looking in at us - so had to keep the blinds shut the whole time. The bathroom is really large, lots of empty space on the side. I enjoyed the breakfast, was a lot nicer than other breakfast hotels. Also lots of places to sit and eat in the morning, but recommend going a little bit earlier so you're not waiting in line. read more

Cons: low/no flexibility on check in/out times. Busy/slow elevators (only two and no separate service elevator). This was a very well cleaned hotel stay something I am very picky about. I always check over hotel beds and Hyatt House did a great job making a clean and crispy bed. The location is wonderful and perfect for visiting the Space Needle. It's right across the street and visible from inside and outside of the hotel. Which means it's also located near the monorail. The staff were nice, greeted us daily, checked us in quickly and were polite and professional. The downside is the parking situation. We had to pay for off site parking as the Hyatt parking was full and offsite. Breakfast was good and nice to see switched up daily. My hope is that they consider adding ingredient lists or allergy labels to foods served. Overall it was a nice and comfortable stay. read more

Easy as one, two, three to seven. First great location. (Based on room and $). Located right next to the Space Needle. Just drop your luggage in your room and walk across the street. You can get a beautiful view on the 8th floor patio of the hotel. I took a picture of it while it was all lite up in blue. Pictures enclosed. Second. Depending on which side your hotel room is facing, you can still see the Space Needle. We stayed in room 206 so we faced a bus stop. Luckily the rooms come with black out pull down shades. Better than some other guest. It seems a couple of rooms will get a great view of the city's light rail system tracks. Third, the parking garage is tight. So a larger vehicle say a Wagoneer or F150 can get it there but it's tight turns. Fourth, breakfast area is large and nicely supplied. It's the standard hot meal of scrambled eggs, a starch, and protein. Of course, there's cereal, bread (three toasters), oatmeal, and fruit. At night a fully equipped bar. Fifth, the hotel store is next to the front desk. I didn't see a price list which is why I got two energy drinks for $17. You can walk to 7-11 about a block away. Just walk down the unlit street and past the couple of people passed out in their parking lot. Sixth, these elevators are terrible. All two of them. We stayed on the second floor and found out the stairwell ends up in the garage. Seven. Overall three stars. The rooms are nice depending on what side you're facing. The towels are rated sand grit number 5. And our bathroom barn door latch didn't work. Positive note, you can chill out on the 8th deck and ask the front desk to light the fire pit or use the grills to BBQ. read more

location, i feel like it was great. from seatac to the hotel via public trans (train/monorail) takes about an hour but at $7 compared to a $70 lyft, ill glady take my time getting there. soon as you get off the monorail youre literally across from the hotel. youre also right in front of the space needle!! we requested a view of the needle & they accomodated! however, this is my own opinion, i feel like there werent many eateries around, or at least a variety of choices. free breakfast which is always great. we ordered from the H Bar a pizza & wings, they hit the spot! small pizza but it did the job & good wings! little pricey but it's a hotel restaurant, so that's typical. they have a rooftop deck that i wish i spent a bit more time but such a great view of the needle if you decide to light up the firepit. they held our bags upon checkout for a few hours so that was great. the room itself met our needs & the plates were a nice touch when we ordered those wings & pizza. a con, i felt like the walls are a bit thin. 99% sure a baby/kid was above us running back & forth, even at like 3am & my gf & i were woken up. i cant fault the baby/kid but the walls were thin for sure. overall, i recommend this hotel for it's location, free breakfast, rooftop deck, & it felt home-y (hence the hyatt HOUSE lol). read more

Another great stay! I love the location, I can be anywhere in the city and know exactly where home is. It is literally located across the street from the Space Needle and Seattle Center, it's in a great central location and there is a lot to see within walking distance. The lobby is large and spacious. The included hot breakfast is at the first floor restaurant . There are many sofas to relax in or wait for deliveries. They have a small snack area for purchases, but it's a bit expensive. The service is great and the check in process is easy. I have always received great service. Rooms are very spacious! My most recent stay was in a King Studio with a living room, full kitchen (everything included: plates, utensils, pots, pans, glasses, etc.), comfortable bed and large bathroom. I could totally live here! Seattle can have it's good and bad areas, I feel safe here on my trips. I also LOVE the rooftop lounge - fire pits and GREAT view of the Space Needle - awesome! What a fabulous property! Our suite was perfect for our family of three. Full kitchen, separate living room, spacious bathroom and large bedroom with two queen beds! Upon arriving we were greeted by the vivacious Dani at the front desk, who was a plethora of info of the surrounding neighborhood & local sites, as well as having our room ready for an early check in!! Did I mention outside our bedroom a view of the Space Needle? Alton & Bruce are the consummate gentlemen whom manned the reception in the afternoon, and offered there top picks for local drinks and dining options. I recently spent a night at this hotel while getting ready to embark on our cruise ship. I really enjoyed my stay here as the room itself was nice and spacious. The breakfast was plenty as well although it did get pretty busy with fellow cruisers. This place is perfectly located in the heart of Seattle. This hotel is pretty good! I love the staff demeanor, and they are always willing to help! The room I stayed in came with two queen sized beds and also came with a TV, couch, kitchen and a bathroom. The everything was really comfortable especially the bed, which might have a better mattress than my own back at home. If you're looking to visit the Space Needle, this would be a great hotel, as it's right across the street. Speaking about the Space Needle, if you book a room from level 6-8, it will get you a pretty good view! The only downside to this hotel was that the bathroom door did not lock and the water pressure in the shower was not that good. Great location, nice rooms, good service, good breakfast. Right next to the space needle, it's a 25 minutes to Pike's place/ target and fairly close to cruise terminals. Plenty of luggage carts to move my stuff upstairs. A lot of people working the desk at night, very friendly as well. Getting extra towels and pillows was super quick. Room had a really nice view of the space needle (you select your view when you book). Breakfast was good for a complimentary, tortillas to make breakfast burritos along with other fixings. I stayed a night after my cruise and was able get checked in at 10am! On weekends the checks outs are early due to the people leaving for cruises so rooms free up a little early. read more

I had a couple wonderful interactions with the front desk staff, and then a couple to be desired. They seem stressed, unhappy and understaffed. The hotel rooms are decent and spacious. The walls and furniture have some pretty bad scratches. Being in this prime location, Hyatt could spend more money on upkeep of this hotel. Additionally, they could hire more experienced and train for more consistency and friendly staff for better customer experience. Or maybe not... Overall, I only booked this hotel for location. Hyatt House Seattle/Downtown is the perfect location and awesome hotel for our 5 night stay. This hotel is a two minute walk to Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum, Museum of Pop Culture, The Armory Food Hall, Seattle Center Monorail and many more attractions. We took the monorail which is a 3 minute ride to get to Pike Place Public Market which is walking distance to the waterfront and Seattle Aquarium along with the first Starbucks that opened in March of 1971. It's also close to Pier 69 (7 minutes drive from the hotel) to the ferry to go to Victoria, B. C. Hyatt House is walking distance to plenty of yummy restaurants and is open late at night even on weekdays. Breakfast buffet is served every day. The selection also varies everyday. They did not repeat the menu the 5 nights we were there and had breakfast in the morning. The coffee was always fresh and hot. The coffee they serve is really good. We enjoyed our stay at Hyatt House Seattle/Downtown not only because this location is at the heart of every attraction but also because the staff here from the front desk to the kitchen staff was excellent from check in to check out. I wish I got all 4 of their names but the only person that we remembered was Jon. Jon was on duty twice at night and twice in the morning when we came across him. He was always very helpful and asked our family how our stay was going several times. He also gave recommendations of restaurants which we tried and liked. There's also the security, who is awesome and always kind. He would make his rounds on the 8th floor where we stayed and downstairs at lobby. He told us which streets to avoid walking at night. Hyatt HOME is more like it. Great lobby & very nice breakfast buffet/bar area. Awesome rooftop terrace with view of space needle is a must see. Staff was super friendly and accommodating with room options. They also threw in free water and snack bar item. A hand written note was awaiting us in our room. The room was like a small efficiency apartment with a kitchenette featuring a fridge, stove top, microwave And sink. A sectional couch housed a hide-a-bed. A grandiose walk in shower highlighted the super clean bathroom. Automatic window blinds capped the exquisite view of the space needle. 2 Cable TVs included hundreds of channels to choose from! Plenty of plugs everywhere. The bed and all seating was very comfortable. Air conditioning and heating were extremely quiet and kept the room exactly at desired temperature. Workout room, games in the lobby, and business center were more amenities, plus free coffee and tea always available. Great experience here... but it should be for the price of $500+ per night with standard room rates. read more

Needed a place to stay when in Seattle and was happy that the hotel we stayed on a previous visit was available and that prices were not so expensive. It is located directly across of the Space Needle which is awesome because all of the museums in the area It is also a walk away from the monorail to downtown which which takes you to the light rail. They serve breakfast each morning which is great. They serve a variety of items from eggs, breakfast meats, waffles or pancakes, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, etc... The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had a kitchenette. The one thing I didn't care for was the pull-out sofa. The mattress was very thin and you could feel the springs so no one could really sleep on it. The bathroom was also a little small but worked for us. Parking was a bit pricey ($40 a night, but standard in Seattle) and the first two nights, their parking lot was full so I had to park at another Hyatt hotel which was 2 blocks away. The price was $20 on those nights. Other than that, I would definitely stay there again. We love visiting Seattle and being close to everything was a plus. read more

Such a great location to stay at if you plan to explore around the Space Needle area. Lots of attractions within walking distance and easy access to monorail. We stayed on the 3rd floor in a corner room. We luckily didn't have any loud neighbors or any issues with noise. The room was pretty spacious and clean. The monorail passes by our room but it wasn't too loud and I was able to sleep through it. You can see the space needle but there were trees in the way. The free breakfast is a super nice perk to staying at this hotel. Not your typical continental plain breakfast. There are eggs, bacon, hashbrown, potatoes, sausages, byo breakfast burrito, and so much more. Open from 6:30AM - 9:30AM. There's a terrace on the 8th floor, open until 10PM. The view of the space needle at night is fantastic. There are seats and tables to chill by the fire. My only complaint here would be the terrible pillows. Had the best experience in the bar/coffee shop of the Hyatt House tonight. Tobias is a magnificent bartender! Knowledgeable, quick witted and just a hell of a goodtime; the man is everything an old school bartender in a high-end establishment used to be. It felt like I was back in my favorite watering holes from the late '70's and '80's. Not only were the drinks better than what I had at Smith Tower earlier that day (not that they were bad at the Tower; but Tobias makes memorable drinks), the atmosphere was so welcoming due to the bartender's overall desire to make customers feel at home that customers were singing their praises to each other regarding what a wonderful time we were all having. At one-point total strangers at the bar were spontaneously participating in a sing along of "Celebration", something I haven't seen in a bar in decades. I was so glad I had stayed at the hotel, as opposed to going across the street to the Space Needle bar. This hotel has as roof top patio with an incredible and I would put a drink made by Tobias against ANY thing the bar keeper at the Needle or any other high-end place in town has to offer. First time staying in downtown Seattle and first time trying a Hyatt hotel. I had selected early check in when I booked a room with double queens and sofa bed for 3 people. Easy to book directly on their website but was surprised to find out you just had to add yourself to the waitlist to have your room ready by the time you arrived. I checked in online and upon arrival they said they would text me when my room was ready. We got there around 10:45am on Thursday. Our room didn't become available until 3:15-3:20pm and regular check in is at 4pm. That wait time felt like it took forever. The restaurant/bar didn't open till 4pm too so all we could do is leave our luggage and explore on our own. Now this hotel is across the street from the space needle but we felt too tired to try that on the day of arrival. The front desk staff told us that housekeeping service is only upon request and during a certain time frame. The hotel was nice. The elevators were a little slow especially Friday morning for breakfast. A lot of people were coming in the day before going on a cruise. Breakfast was good. Was just a little sad that they did not offer any scrambled eggs. But what they did offer was good. If you come to this hotel definitely check out the rooftop terrace on the 8th floor. The views of the space needle are nice. They have fire pits for when it's chilly outside. I did really like the location from this hotel. Across the street from the space needle and the museum of pop culture was close too. Pike market place was about a 20-24 minute walk from there. Didn't get to try the restaurant/bar so I can't tell you how great or not it was. The room I booked was nice. Had a fridge, electric stove, sink, dishes and utensils to use. Oh and a microwave. Stayed here for a few months for work. Love that the rooms have a little kitchenette and fridge. I had three different reservations for my stay for work. The hotel was nice enough to accommodate my lengthy stay and let me stay in the same room so I didn't have to keep moving my things. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. Location of this hotel is perfect! Everything is roughly about a 15-20 min walk. You literally are across from the space needle which is nice if you plan on doing all these touristy things. Fitness center is basically treadmills, elliptical, some weights and one cable machine, enough to do bare minimum kind of thing. I wish it was bigger and had more options considering most people I met there were staying months at a time. Cons to this place is that the walls are a little too thin during my time here I encountered many loud next door peeps. As well as I hear the people above me walking around.. apparently everyone has heavy feet! Elevators are extremely slow and are always breaking down. I ended up choosing to take stairs to parking garage. But even then the stairs are confusing first few times. Crash Hyatt Booked a two-night stay for $189/night** for a "Studio King" thru Southwest.com (i.e., Booking.com) back in January for a mid-April stay. The Good: *Complimentary breakfast (starts at 7 a.m.) that didn't look that impressive from what I saw. We didn't partake so hard to really say. *Fitness Room. Again, didn't partake, so I can't really comment. *Studio rooms are very spacious and comes with a kitchenette with a microwave, stove, dishwasher--and even a bar-style table! *42" LG® HDTV w/ full compliment of DirectTV® programming. It also rotates around, depending on if you're in the living room or the bedroom. *Decent view of the Space Needle™ from our room. *Staff were all friendly and helpful. *Fantastic location just across the street from the Space Needle, Chihuly© Glass Museum and only a 20min walk Pike Place Market™. *Rooftop terrace has great views of The Needle and the DT Seattle skyline. *Showers had good water pressure, and water was hot--but not too hot. The Meh: *We both agreed the mattresses are too firm, but Carissa liked the pillows, and I hated them. *You can hear the people above you clomping around. *Room doors all slam shut, so when someone leaves, everyone knows about it. *Only one of the two elevators goes down to the parking garage, so when you call an elevator, there's a 50/50 chance you might have to wait for a 2nd elevator. *Room coffee was awful. They overbooked the shuttle to the pier and made us get off the shuttle despite already being seated, then told is they had a car, nit it would only seat one of us. We were left on the side of the road with no clear answer of when someone would be back to transport us (they gave is a "five minutes " answer 10 minutes ago. Pros We stayed for three nights Monday-Thursday in a room with a kitchen. We had a perfect view of the Space Needle from our bed. The breakfast is amazing! One of the best which was included in the price of our stay. They had many healthy and yummy options. I ate chia pudding with fruit; a tortilla with scrambled eggs, arugula, and salsa; a boiled egg and a cottage cheese. Ask for a room with a view of the space needle, it was only $3 dollars more a night. There is a laundry room if you need to wash clothes. I recommend this hotel! Cons Parking in the garage is a little challenging until you figure it out. Check in first to get access to parking garage. If you have a huge vehicle the parking garage will be a challenge as access is down a little alley and they use some spaces for storage when they are doing updates. Be aware of events at the Climate Pledge Arena because they close off streets when they let out making it a challenge to get to your hotel if you don't know the area. We rented bikes and rode through-out the city to avoid traffic which was amazing. Bring helmets if you have them. The elevator can be slow but not a stressor if you are not in a rush. My husband noted that the showers are not as hot as he liked. I was okay with the temp as long as the bathroom room door is closed. It would have been fire starts but I was woken up at 8am with someone delivering coffee to us... that we didn't request. But apart from that is very convenient with lovely rooms. Oh.... One thing.... The entry to the parking garage is a hot mess. Why is the key entry hidden behind a stop sign around the corner from the gate. Is it supposed to be that hard to find? This hotel was great. The location was so good as it was very close to Seattle center, Space Needle, monorail, transportation, etc. Room was clean and comfy. Nice to have a fridge and microwave. Breakfast was decent. Lots of people in line and was hard to find a table for our family of 5. The coffee was not great and they were out a few times. Beds we're comfortable enough. I gotta say extended stay hotels really take the cake for me. Pros: - Great location - super close to the Space Needle and Seattle Center. Very central place to stay if you want to do all the touristy places. - The breakfast!! Since it's Covid times, they wrapped up everything and everything was take and go. Great selections (see pics) and full. I was very satisfied with the food they had out (plus you take as much as you want! and you can save yourself a snack for later). - Room was very comfortable and came with a fully stocked (utensils) kitchen. I was pretty impressed with the kitchen - cooking utensils, plates, mugs, bowls, etc. The suite had a mini living room that was away from the bed. It was a really nice suite. Definitely recommend this place to stay for your out of town guests! read more

We booked one night at this hotel because of its Space Needle view and free hotel shuttle. We were called a week before our stay and informed our shuttle would cost $80 for five people. So, we canceled that and scheduled an Uber. We get to the hotel and our shuttle actually had not been canceled and we would've been charged for a no show. And the staff member said it's usually $10 per person but for us it would be $80 total. Huh? We get to our room, and it has no Space Needle view. We call for a refund on the upgrade and the woman is incredibly rude and saying we booked from a third party so rooms are not a guarantee. Well, then we should not have been charged for the nice view and informed ahead of time. We go to the bathroom and our shower is missing a shower curtain. It took 2 hours with two calls and one visit to the front desk to get a shower curtain. And we were told they might not find one and there would be nothing they could do, that we just couldn't shower. A hotel without a shower is unacceptable. Don't stay here. read more

Perfect location for Chihuly and Space Needle. The hotel itself needs a little TLC. Our television didn't work properly. Trying to watch television and hear every other word is ridiculous. The breakfast setup during COVID is a nightmare!!!!!!!!!! The hotel sets out pre wrapped breakfast sandwiches, fruit and other items. There is no organization around the food. It's like someone is giving away free money, the guest are allowed to have a free for all grabbing food. Mask were required but no spacing at all. Get your elbows ready to fight for food...LOL The parking garage is under the building. If you have a large SUV it may be a little tight. Don't have a late check in if you want to find parking. The staff at the front desk is very pleasant and helpful. They can give you good recommendations for restaurants in the area. Great location, needs TLC! read more

Disgusting hotel! We saw 2 rooms here and they're filthy and dingy. The customer service here is horrible. Actually, you don't get service any at all. The only decent thing about them is the dining area for breakfast. They serve decent food with good variety and the staff is good. But if you enjoyed being lied to by the front desk or being insulted, threatened and screamed at by the ghetto front desk people, one woman in particular, then this hotel is for you. read more
