I stayed at the Kimpton Palladian for a couple nights. It turned out to be a very enjoyable time. The style of the hotel is classic with a hint of contemporary based on the photos and art throughout. There is an excellent restaurant in Shaker & Spear as well as the Pennyroyal Bar connected to the hotel. The hotel staff are all very friendly and the hotel is kept clean and tidy. The gym is small but serviceable. The rooms are also small but the simple decor and really comfortable bed made for a good night's rest. read more

For my birthday tonight, HeavenLeigh and I had one of the coolest dining experiences ever at the Kimpton Palladian Hotel in Seattle during their Le Petit Chef dinner experience! If you've never heard of it, it's the cutest, tiniest chef ever -- only about 6mm tall! ‍ The little animated chef literally appears on your table, prepares your meal, and "serves" it right onto your plate. Watching the whole story play out while each course arrives is honestly one of the most unique dining experiences we've ever had! The food was incredible... actually AMAZING. Things that rocked: the service! Everyone was so nice and on top of it. Very impressed with the staff! The location was also *chefs kiss*. So close to Pike Place and anything you could want to do downtown. Things that did not rock: the actual hotel room was pretty beat up and dingy. The view was no view, we literally overlooked a rooftop full of mechanical equipment. Plus there were coffee spill stains all over the walls/room including the ceiling?? Attaching photos of that for your viewing pleasure. The city noise was loud, but the A/c was making a pretty terrible squeaky noise the whole time it was on. Not my fave hotel stay. read more

La Petit Chef - Seattle dinner experience was as whimsical as expected. The Kimpton Palladian Hotel and La Petit chef staff both yielded superb and extremely courteous service. From start to finish our 6 year old was overwhelmed with the kind and thoughtful service he received (he really felt special, he kept saying this place is like Disney!) We selected the 5 course vegetarian meal, and zero proof cocktail pairings both my husband and I were FULL by course 3; needless to state our dishes and cocktails were excellent! We came here for the Petit Chef experience. First, bar and lobby are cool. They have these funny pictures :D I recommend having a drink at the bar and just enjoy. Dinner took place downstairs. Not at the restaurant. One level down. I guess it is a room for various purposes like meetings or big dinners. I didn't like it thay much. Anyway, this event uses projectors on the ceiling. A cartoon story is projected to your dish. Pretty fun. I guess they need it to be quiet, dark, and windowless because of this. Then staff bring you each course. You can pair it with wine. Note it is a 5 course dinner. It was good, but not to die for. Pricey. Around $500 for 2. I guess because of the story. There is a parking lot right in front by the Moore theater. I was really hopeful this property would become my go-to hotel for frequent trips to Seattle, but unfortunately that won't be the case. The first issue is the mandatory guest amenity fee of $27 plus an additional $4.24 in tax. I'm still unclear what amenities justify a $31.24 daily charge, especially when nothing stood out as particularly valuable. The bigger problem was an unethical housekeeping charge. I was billed for $5 bottled waters that were never touched. While Jesse at the front desk ultimately did the right thing and credited the charge, the explanation I received was that housekeeping performs a "thorough inspection" and was confident I consumed the waters. That stance is disappointing, especially at this price point. If I'm paying that much, I'll happily walk down the street and buy water I actually enjoy. As a Diamond member who stays over 70 nights a year, this is not how I operate. Any property can confirm that I don't consume in-room items, and on the rare occasion I do, I notify the front desk at checkout. This situation felt accusatory and unnecessary. After this "watergate" experience, I won't be returning. If you choose to stay here, I strongly recommend asking the front desk to remove all consumables upon check-in or to inspect your room with you before departure to avoid erroneous charges read more

Stayed at this property for business and extended my stay for two nights to explore Seattle! I had a lovely time and the stay was wonderful. I love staying at Kimpton properties (Taiwan, San Francisco, Portland, Los Angeles, etc.) I love the vibe and decor of the space. It is a darker, edgy vibe with Napoleon-era inspired paintings. This is all part of the charm and uniqueness of the space. The guest rooms were spacious - at no point did I feel claustrophobic! Typically in downtown, hotels are smaller in size, but I had ample space to comfortably navigate around. King bed, living room with couch, coffee table, closet and a very spacious bathroom. Beds (huge for me since a good sleep matters) were comfortable. Housekeeping was great when needed. While housekeeping is daily, you can forego if not needed (eco-friendly and you get $5 credit to their hotel restaurant). I stayed four nights and did housekeeping every other day. I also got a chance to try the Shaker & Spear restaurant downstairs! It was a popular spot because it was packed in the early morning and for dinner. Bartender made a killer espresso martini in the evening and I had a little dessert before bed. Parking is valet only, but coming from out of state, I just utilized the complimentary bikes from the hotel, ride share, public transportation or the many Lime bikes/scooters around the city. It was very easy to get around, though I was humbled since I don't do public transportation as much in LA. More than anything, I love the location. It is in the heart of downtown, and you are steps away from Pike Place Market, the waterfront, shopping and restaurants, a short distance away from the Space Needle and more. read more

Perfect place to stay! Quiet. Clean. Convenient. My boyfriend and I stayed here for an extended weekend while we visited Seattle for the first time and had a comfortable stay. It felt super safe. We needed to scan our room key to re-enter the lobby everyday. That made us feel secure. The front desk provided us with a nice and diverse list of local spots to try. PLEASE go to Ludi's and have the most amazing breakfast of your life. Despite this place being pet-friendly it was quite clean and doesn't stink at all. They tidy up WELL. The hotel is also very convenient and walking distance to Pike Place Market and the piers/ferries. If you book this hotel through the AmEx Hotel Collection you can get early check-in (we did at 12:45pm), late check-out and and a free breakfast voucher per day for each guest in your room. GREAT VALUE! The restaurant is worth the visit - yummy! The only downside side was that in our king city view room the bathroom was literally a couple feet next to the bed we slept in. read more

The hotel is just "fine" but not the greatest or cleanest and definitely overpriced for the experience. There were holes in the towels and the bath mat, and I had to ask the cleaning staff to come up the first day we arrived because there was hair (looked like pub*c hair) all over the bathroom floor from the previous guest. They did clean up after I called this out though so I definitely appreciate the fast response I just wish it had been cleaned in the first place. There also is no fitted sheet on the beds and no duvet cover--just a sheet above and below the blanket. It just felt very gross and unclean honestly and was not my cup of tea. Outside of that, when my husband and I arrived we were told that our room wasn't ready but that it was definitely be ready before 3 pm and that they would give me a call. No other information when we checked in. We checked back at the front desk when we didn't hear back and no dice--but we did see the front desk checking in another couple who was given a bunch of information about fun things to do in the area and recommendations that we did not receive. Finally after 4 pm when we had still not heard from the hotel we asked if our room was ready and it was and we got an it keys. I understand if things are backed up and earlier check in wasn't going to be possible but I would prefer that that be communicated if that is the case and not tell your guests otherwise. Anyways not the worst stay but for the price it leaves a lot to be desired. Needs to be cleaner, better service, and updated linens at the least. Whatever you could ask for is accounted for: food, drink, valet parking, laundry, luxury amenities, and gum for the Pike Place gum wall. Reception is friendly and efficient. While there were no free upgrades available when I arrived, they made sure to put me on the highest floor as an Amex Hotel Collection member. They also provided complimentary breakfast vouchers (and the breakfast is pretty decent!) for every day of my stay. The room is spacious and well stocked with luxury bathroom amenities. There is a fridge, a table with some chairs (if you want a workspace), and an amazing king size bed that isn't too soft/hard. Housekeeping is also consistent and doesn't run on an "on-demand" basis. My partner and I were able to take advantage of the valet parking with full in-and-out privileges and also used our additional $100 hotel credit for premium breakfast items. The Kimpton Palladian, especially as a Hotel Collection member, makes for a great hotel for a staycation. Free breakfast, $100 dollar credit, and a comfortable bed and bath, it's almost hard to leave. Why brave the hills of Seattle when I can stay in and watch TV in bed? Perfect for a Seattle native who wants a weekend downtown. read more

Intimate, upscale hotel 2 blocks from Pike Place Market, 3 blocks from Amazon World HQ, right next to the Moore Theatre, a 10 minute walk to The Crocodile, and centrally located to so much, including the Needle/Climate Pledge Arena, which I walked to in about 20 minutes. All the staff I encountered were very helpful and my room was beautifully decorated. The Atelier Bloem toiletries deserve a mention all their own! The hotel restaurant Shaker + Spear has a fabulous open kitchen, including a Chef's Counter where you can chat with the cooks and see every dish being prepared. I highly recommend the Whole Fried Fish for dinner - the citrus salt is to die for - and the Brioche French Toast for breakfast - so light and flavorful! They also have a speakeasy style bar - Pennyroyal - that specializes in craft cocktails. It's just the right size for a date or a small group. And speaking of cocktails, every night from 5-6 the hotel has a selection of complimentary wine, cocktails, and sparkling NA beverages in the lobby during social hour. Hotel two blocks away from Pikes Market and one block away from Ludi's diner. I thought the dog friendly welcome station was cute at the reception and the decor was boho chic. We stayed two nights for the Seattle game and the first night, the Moore Hotel had a heavy metal concert next door. Oof. At least the bass stopped around midnight. We had a corner room #405. The room itself was small but comfortable. The bathroom had a shower and a nice large window for fresh air. The armoire also had robes and a small mini fridge. The front desk also mails postcards out for free. The dropped off a post card for both days on 11/25 & 11/26 and just today I received my postcard at home 12/5 in California. Staff was friendly, one elevator was down, we didn't need service and didn't stop by the bar. We had a nice, short stay at the Kimpton Palladium. read more

I only stayed one night, but I loved its elegance, from the wall decor to the furniture arrangement. The bar and lobby areas were particularly spacious and inviting. The receptionist was friendly and established rapport with me from the very beginning. The price of a one-night stay for one person was high, but I found an online deal for $211. Seattle hotel prices spike during the spring and summer, so be mindful of that when planning a visit. This location is right in the heart of many of Seattle's attractions, especially for tourists. Everything is within a 5- to 10-minute walking distance of places like Pike Place Market, the mall, and the Seattle Great Wheel. I only spent about five hours in the room because I was out enjoying Seattle's nightlife. I paid for offsite parking, which cost me about $22 for the day and was about a five-minute walk from this establishment. The receptionist mentioned that it would have cost me about $50 more to park there. So keep that in mind when driving. Because they leave such a lasting impression, I shall return for a long stay in the near future. read more

... Nice location, convenient. Chose it for the convenient location next to a certain building we needed access to quickly without effort. Price was okay. Front desk was super nice and gave us glasses of wine and chocolate when we checked in. We got a free bottle of wine too. Room was quite dated, but did the job in terms of having a bed, tv, bathroom, desk, etc... What REALLY bugged me was that our room, not the hallways, not the lobby, not the elevator, the room smelled like one of those terrible car air fresheners that give you a giant headaches because it's so overpowering? Yea, that smell was super strong in the room. I couldn't sleep the first night because of it. The second night I was too tired so slept. Also... the bed had no headboard. Meh. Stayed here for two nights. Underwhelmed. Like someone else mentioned, status means zilch here. On the website, IHG platinum elite status gets you comp breakfast at certain hotels--which they don't offer. While its never a guarantee, hotels normally try to make an effort or at least mention something~but nada, didn't get a room upgrade either--our view was the construction directly across the street. However, I did get to pick between a snack credit of $10 or 600 points~ On a side note, never saw housekeeping so the tiny trash can was near overflowing (which is understandable had it been explained to me during check in so I wouldn't clean up the room expecting someone to come in). Oh and did I mention water was LUKEWARM for my shower the first morning??? Yes~in frigid Seattle weather. It was just one too many negatives for me. And yes, these are first world issues that really don't matter, but can mean the difference between a customer choosing this hotel versus another down the street. Which is exactly what we did btw~ On a bright note, there is lemon infused water downstairs and a bar that has complimentary wine during a certain time in the afternoon (didn't try it). There are umbrellas to "borrow" in the lobby and a list of amenities that you can borrow from the hotel. Some of the hotel staff were friendly, some definitely need more training. Upon checkout, we stood with our luggages smiling in front of a girl for a good while before she acknowledged us. I had asked her if she could grab some more cups for the lemon water and it seemed like I was bothering her.... So yea, hard pass next time. read more

Stayed here at Palladian a cuple times and as a consequence of the other Kimptons booked out. Status means nothing here ~ checking in we were told no upgrades were available though the website indicated otherwise. Arrived tardy to the party for complimentary beverage hour but no complimentary drink cards offered at check-in. Other Kimpton hotels do. Rooms are definitely smaller than the other locations. Pet friendly? That is what the Kimpton reputation was popularly known for. No name recognition, treats offered. The biggest growl is nervously walking the pup outside with the riffraff that loiter along the block. All aside, the service was most disappointing again. Gone are the staff that pursued hospitality as a passion, or at least respected status members. read more

Formerly the Calhoun Hotel, built in 1909, this small, historic hotel is full of charm. You perhaps wouldn't notice from its exterior but once you enter the double doors, whether from their main entrance or in the lounge, you'll immediately notice the unique decor. We made the reservation based on an online listing for hotels in Seattle with parking and complimentary breakfast. We were a little disappointed to discover that the third party travel website we used was not correct. The hotel does include valet parking only, at a hefty price, but it was worth it and to be honest, we never used our car so if you don't need to drive, perhaps find another travel option. This hotel is in walking distance from most popular spots in Seattle and surrounded by great cafes and restaurants. Complimentary wine in the evenings, and coffee, tea, and hot cocoa service in the morning. The saving grace for us was the restaurant downstairs, Shaker and Spear. Excellent food and service. I'd stay here again just for the convenience of that restaurant and I'm glad we stayed at this hotel because I would not have known about it otherwise. The rooms are small, even with a double queen, not much of a view and you can hear both the street and your upstairs neighbor at any time of the day. If not for the service, restaurant, hospitality, and location, I would have given our stay 3 stars. read more

Let me just say this was a great hotel. All the complaints and bad reviews I saw are nothing compared to what we experienced. We first got an amazing deal and then they do have those $10 day charges for the bar or restaurant which is fine. The restaurant is great. Frankly the food was delicious. Very fresh. The people at the front desk were all great. The cleaning staff specially Nicole was very attentive to us when we ran into her. We're also thankfully for the nail clip and file we got from the front desk. We got a Main Street view room and it was great. The hotel used to be apartments and its was fully remodeled and renovated to accommodate rooms and a hotel. I really liked it and it's a nice little property. read more

Booked this hotel last minute, when another reservation cancelled on me, due to a scheduling snafu. I needed a place that welcomed dogs for the night and the Kimpton delivered. Hotel entrance located on 2nd avenue, but valet is located around the corner on Virginia Street. Location is great if wanting to visit Pike Place Market (blocks away), waterfront or many restaurants. Room was on the smaller side and decor is fun and funky (John Cena pillow on bed). There is construction next door, but I spent little time in my room. The real stand out is the support the staff provided helping my pup get comfortable going inside sliding doors in the lobby. The whole staff cheered on my pup and provided cookies. Any fear my dog used to have going on linoleum floors and in automatic sliding doors is now gone. read more

We stayed here overnight when we attended a show at the Moore theater. The convenience was unparalleled for that venue! My favorite thing about this hotel is the whimsical portraits of Seattle celebrities decked out in military uniforms; our room even featured an awesome Morgan Freeman pillow! The room was comfortable, although the bathroom fan was so loud it sounded like it was on the verge of a breakdown. Parking was a big challenge. Although they have valet parking, the sign wasn't visible when we drove by (someone was parked in front of it) so we ended up going around the block a few times. There are only about 4 spaces on the curb to wait for the valet, so that was problematic. read more

I stayed here for three nights in February and loved the location of this hotel. I was able to walk to all of the places I wanted to visit and take public transportation easily. However, the shower was a big problem for me. The water got everywhere and the water took a while to heat up. I was also not a fan of the TV being on the easel. We love Kimpton properties in general... so we were hopeful this would be a great find. It was. This old building has been redone to feel playful, modern, yet retains its old world flavor. Bayley (on front desk) helped us get checked in and provided a lay of the land: local eateries included. Our king suite room was spacious and comfortable. I stayed at this hotel from oct 24-Oct 28 2024. The hotel was fine. When I arrived, I was told I had accidentally booked the same reservation twice- they said it was not a problem and that they would cancel it. I noticed that I had a charge from the hotel on two different credit cards for different amounts (one booked online and one that I use the physical card for)- I called the hotel and they said I should be getting a credit. Well that was two and half weeks ago so I called again tonight to ask about it. The staff member I speak to explains that one charge was for me checking out on the 25th and one on the 28th. I try to explain how one was an erroneous charge and I get a kind of snotty attitude that I'm wrong- as if I'm lying about not having checked into two rooms at the same time and checking out the next day on only one of them. I get how that's not an impossible thing but it's not good customer service that I had to press back so hard to get him to investigate and yeah, find out that the refund had been misapplied. The hotel was fine, but front desk staff customer service could be better read more

I've stayed here on more than one occasion as a "staycation". It's been a great experience! Most recently, Owen at the front desk was welcoming and helpful. The staff will check in via text and provide support or answers to your questions. The beds are plush, the robes are soft-ish, and the room itself is in pretty good condition. I wouldn't expect wildly lavish luxury here, but it's got a vibe that feels upscale and relaxing. It's a little masculine in terms of decor and such. Having Penny Royal and Shaker & Spear in the same building is clutch. At one point I ordered a cocktail that they brought to my room. They do wine hour from 5-6pm each day. I also observed the front desk handing out little activity trinkets for kids. They also have a little city bike that you can borrow for exploring. All in all, a wonderful place to stay in the city, well located, and has most of the bells and whistles you'd want. read more

I really hate leaving bad reviews but this is necessary. I booked a suite for 2 nights because we had one of our sons with us. I was told he would be able to use the pull out bed. Yes there was a pull out bed but no sheets or blankets. I called the desk and it took a 1 1/2 to get what we needed. Also opened the mini fridge in the room and someone must have stored seafood in there it smelled awful again called front desk and received poor service again over 500.00 a night I expected better. I was offered a 60.00 dollar credit to use in there restaurant no thanks. Will be staying somewhere else next time. read more

Recently stayed here after our cruise to Alaska. We wanted one day to explore the area. Overall the hotel is quite central and has a very unique boutique vibe to it. Loved the hotel decor and overall vibe of the property. We had reserved a two queen bedroom and upon our check-in we were informed we were being "upgraded" to a suite. Once we got to the room we very quickly realized this room was not an upgrade for us, as there were not 2 beds. I went back to the front desk and was essentially told the 2 queens were not available. Quite confusing since we pre-booked the room. I let it go as we were both tired from our travels. The room was very lovely however not fit for 2 individuals who didn't want to share a bed. Housekeeping made up a terribly uncomfortable couch bed to obtain our 2 bed request. Since I made the reservation I opted to stay on the couch and it was very uncomfortable. Pretty bummed by this experience as it does not match my previous visits to other Kimpton properties. read more

Nothing really super special but it was just a one night stay so didn't really need anything fancy. Once again, great location and that is pretty much the most important thing. Every night between 5 to 6 pm they offer complementary wine in lobby. Decor of rooms is great black & white decor. The best part of my stay was the claw foot tub. I had a corner room and it didn't feel like it was on the corner. There was a room to my left and we could hear then where the corner should have been given our location in the hotel. Staff was friendly so no issues there. Early check in wasn't an option and late checkout wasn't as well. Amenities were typical for a hotel. Also the insulation really isn't good so you will hear your neighbors and everything happening outside. I could also feel every spring in the mattress. Not a good nights sleep at all. I don't think this is a hotel I'll stay at again when in the area. Also their parking and hotel fees seem on the high side to me. Yes location is good but don't expect a comfortable stay. read more

I LOVE staying at Kimpton hotels. Seriously, they are the best at accommodating travelers, even if you pay a little extra for it. We started using Kimpton due to their pet friendly policy, but continue to use them even when we travel without our fur babies. We chose the Palladian over the other two Kimptons in Seattle due to its close proximity to Pike Place Market (5 minute walk) and Space Needle and Chihuly Garden (20 minute walk). There were a lot of really great places around this location! This particular Kimpton is unlike any other I have stayed it... the decor is modeled around famous leading men. We were lucky enough to share our bed (pillow) with Swayze haha. Of course, you have to love the guest happy hour (this one featured local wines and ciders, as well as a local whiskey and vodka) and some of the reward member offers like raiding the mini bar. Valet is a little pricey, but a given in a big city. The restaurant, Shaker and Spear, has great Yelp reviews, but we were unable to try due to time. I'd like to check them out if we stay again. My one small complaint was that the walls and door leading to the next door room were paper thin. I stayed here for the location, it's in bell town and very close to Nordstrom and the market. The room was spacious for one person. I loved the flat screen television in the easel. There are many amenities that you can get if you call (or text) to the front desk. I received a text soon after I arrived and was able to communicate that way. Bathrobes must be requested from the front desk. Security is strong with the elevator requiring a card swipe to get to your floor. The whole hotel is dark and moody, your room has mainly white walls but it's still relatively dark, especially with Seattle winter days. Read less read more

If I could give negative review I would. They came came at 9 am to clean to our room. We were showering and getting ready to leave for the day. I asked the women to come back she didn't seem to understand what I was saying. It is 9 pm and we came back to the room and it's not clean. I tried to talk to the front desk about it and he basically told me too bad. The room smelled kinda weird when we first got here and the amenities are not great. WILL NOT BE BACK.
