Starting to stray from Marriott properties due to the long slow decline in benefits and service levels for high status holders. So I decided to try a Hyatt property for a quick in and out job in Austin. Airport shuttle was fairly quick on the pick-up - but you have to call for it. Austin moved all hotel shuttles to the lower level about 18 months ago but has yet to change the signage as you exit the terminal that directs you to the wrong location. Way to go AUS management. Check-in was fast and efficient, room was good sized and well appointed. Very clean, AC works well; only downside was a shower that you have to run around in to get wet, lo-flow shower head. They were nice enough to allow me a late check-out as well. Good breakfast offerings, nothing outstanding but substantial and well presented. All good. read more

Check-in process wasn't perfect, but they were very hospitable after that little bump. The room was spacious and clean. The airport noise is a given but wasn't bad enough to keep me awake. Beds are comfy, which is the most important thing! They put out a little breakfast station with some pretty good options for super early travelers. Their shuttle runs often and is efficient with a very kind driver. You have to reserve parking through way.com if you want to leave your car there while you're gone, but it's cheaper than airport parking. I'd stay again! read more

We have been consummate users of the paid parking at the hotel and have stayed there. Our daughter paid to park there while she was out of town. When she got back the battery on her car had died. She asked the hotel for help and was met with rudeness. She asked the driver and front desk for help and they were dismissive. (Nobody at the front waiting for help). They didn't offer help they begrudgingly gave her jumper cables that didn't work and then just left her never checked on her. (We were out of state) We called a towing service and that fell through so we called the Hilton next door. They sent two guys over immediately to help. The Hilton will get my business from now on. Overnight layover = airport hotel. This Hyatt is so close to ABIA you can walk from baggage claim across the highway to get here, but don't do that. Free shuttle service every 5-10 (?) minutes means you can skip Uber unless you arrive late at night like us. Hotel seems newish with amenities cleaner than the last and there were cage free boiled eggs at complimentary breakfast. Also a full service restaurant right in the lobby. Attentive and friendly front desk, servers, cleaning staff, etc. and always someone available to assist you. We received a suite: clean, comfy king bed, spacious with an L couch. The sink slash vanity area was too tiny and cramped but fine for just a night. Maybe don't trust google maps as oddly directions can get confusing...took us to Hilton's parking lot instead, which is right next door...Uber drivers do get lost. The next day there was a miscommunication over our shuttle reservation. They booked us for 7:15AM and told us to be present at 7:10 to load our luggage, so we did that. A bunch of guests scheduled for later jumped on our res and then the driver totally left without half of our party. At least 2 of us stayed on with our luggage, but the rest of us called an Uber. The shuttle really is fast though because they returned before our Uber arrived, but only because he got lost. Pet friendly! read more

Just had to bring the daughter to Austin for a Girl Scout trip, and this is where they stayed for night, so I stayed too. It is super convenient to hotel (like 5 min away) and they have a shuttle. The rooms are nice sized, with a sitting area and desk. Good water pressure in shower. very friendly staff. Buffet breakfast that had nice options, including like 6 different types of milk to fit your needs. The Girl Scout troop had a group lunch and they gave them a nice buffet for it, including vegetarian options for the girls who needed that. Plenty of space to accommodate the girls and their other guests. My only issue is that my tv kept turning on at 3:30 am. No sound, but bright light. I didn't get their names, but whoever they are, please train or retrain them as soon as possible. They are very rude and have zero interpersonal skills. This is a review of The Placery bar and provisions. It's 93 degrees outside at 6:30 pm and I had no will to go back outside once I got back from a busy day at COTA. THE Hyatt has a nice little bar with food however so I didn't have to go out again. I picked "The Burger" with two patties of Strauss pasture raised beef with cheese and quite made to order fries with a crunchy coating on them. Burger was solid and the fries were hot and nicely seasoned. Each table has a bottle of ketchup mayonnaise and hot sauce. I paired the burger with a 9 oz glass of Josh Cabernet Sauvignon also quite acceptable. read more

Stayed one night before an early flight home from Austin Airport. You cannot beat the location. You basically could walk to the terminal. It took maybe two minutes to get to the rental car return from the hotel. The room was clean and I had no complaints. Other than a brief checkin, I didn't have much interaction with staff. The lady at the front desk was friendly. There was ample parking in a lot that required your key card for entry/exit. They charged $14.00 a night for parking. My one night stay was for a concert at COTA. When the name says "airport", it's literally at the airport; upon departure I had to drive through the drop-off/arrival area to get to the highway. Check-in was fast and easy. My room was clean and everything worked as it should. The lobby has a bar/dining area, where I ordered a pizza, which was good. Overnight the room was quiet but in the morning I could hear doors slamming and house-keeping in the hall. I had breakfast just before check-out and while it was good, it wasn't as good as other Hyatt Places. Check-out was easy and my bill accurate. I did find it troubling that the front desk suggested ride-share to the concert because if I drove there may not be parking when I return; apparently they let non-guests park and pay ($14). The morning noise and parking fee keep this from being a 5 star review. I'd stay here again in the future, especially if flying out. read more

I really enjoy staying at this Hyatt Place Austin airport for the simple convenience of very early flights. I live quite far from the Austin airport, so if I have a flight before sunrise, I will occasionally stay here. This is my third visit and the hotel is always quiet, clean and comfortable. Apparently it's a popular place, because the parking lot was nearly full when I arrived. I didn't get to take a look at their breakfast offerings, because I needed to be at the airport for a very early flight before breakfast was offered. They do offer a free quick shuttle to the nearby airport and you should sign up at the front desk the night before an early flight. read more

I recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights when I attended a wedding in Austin. I loved my stay! The people were so nice and friendly. The room was comfortable. I was able to make an appointment for the shuttle to take me to the airport the morning I left. I loved the fact that I didn't have to fight traffic getting to a hotel after a long day of traveling and fighting traffic when I flew back home. Nice hotel, very quiet, clean, has a 24 hr FREE shuttle to and from the airport. The ride may be 10 mins or less. Shuttle drivers are very nice and on time. The hotel's cafe has a full menu until midnight then it only serves Pizza and wings (I believe it was the second item). The staff was very friendly and nice. There are screens that show flights so you'll never wonder or have to call to find out if a flight is cancelled or on time. Parking is $16 nightly for guests. Can't recommend due to poor follow-through for cancellation. Needed to cancel a stay for work travel that was scheduled b/c of COVID-19. I called them twice to cancel and to confirm the cancellation. Both times, I was told the reservation was canceled. Got an email from Hyatt saying they're looking forward to seeing me this week - and I had to cancel myself one more time through the web. Clean, well maintained, and well run airport hotel. If you happen to arrive later than anticipated (aka me when my initial and connecting flights are delayed) and after a certain hour, the hotel shuttle no longer runs. I don't fault the hotel for not running a shuttle past a certain time, however despite some searching on my part on the website I can't find anything that says they stop after a certain hour. It's not listed in the app, nor is it in the hotel's automatic phone system. If you call late and press the button for airport pickup, you get an unnamed voicemail box. This communication oversight was my one fault with an otherwise excellent value and comfortable night's rest. It is less than a mile from arrivals at ABIA, but I don't recommend it with small children, mobility issues, or large luggage. The route is not set up with pedestrians in mind at all (no fault of the hotel). read more

I've come to not expect too much from airport hotels. This one is actually pretty cozy, but the customer service could be better. The lobby is quaint, with plenty of seating areas and complimentary breakfast from 6 am to 9 am. There is a pool and fitness center on the first floor. Both are small and not the best, but I guess they are the bare minimum. The guest rooms are a nice size with warm, contemporary accents and furnishings. Overall, they don't seem devoid of any comfort or personality. The rooms have a couch, two big beds, a mini fridge, plus all the standard amenities of a hotel. The one thing I didn't love about the rooms is that they are connected to the neighboring room, so you can hear the noises made by the other guests In the room next door. The breakfast had a decent variety, though it was not exactly gourmet. I wish complimentary didn't have to mean bland, but I guess I can't complain too much. The main issue I had was when I saw the shuttle van driver a few minutes before 6:15 am ask me if I was going to be taking that shuttle time to the airport. I told him yes but I was waiting for three more people. They finally trickled down to the lobby as I was finishing up breakfast but the van had left a minute early... without saying anything... So yeah I just think it's really interesting that I can have a whole conversation with someone who knew what to expect and then they just decided to disregard all of that and leave us behind waiting to take the 6:30 shuttle instead. I wasn't too stressed, because it takes 3 minutes to get to the airport and I got an extra 15 minutes to enjoy breakfast, but it's gonna be a no for me. read more

Thing 1 to know about the Hyatt Place Austin Airport: If you are coming in on a motor coach, that bus gonna have a heckuva time maneuvering in there. I can't really blame an airport hotel for not being very accommodating to tour groups ... or can I? Hell if I know, I'll leave that to those arriving on a big-ass motor coach like I did ... better yet, those PLANNING to come on a big motor coach. Thing 2 to know: It's a nice hotel. The beds are comfy, everything has that "new hotel room" look to them, the WiFi worked like a charm, it's extremely quiet for a hotel right next to an airport. As for food, their 24/7 Room Service did not disappoint with a sweet and toasty Monte Cristo; their take on my favorite sandwich on planet earth did not disappoint. Neither did the free breakfast ... no day-old bagels here: fluffy scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, enough hard-boiled eggs to reenact "Cool Had Luke" and high quality coffee and OJ. The hotel is right at the airport. There's a park, Subway, and a gas station within walking distance. The pool only has lawn chairs, not chaises. You can put to chairs together, LOL. Rooms were good and didn't hear much airport noise at all. The outdoor pool is heated so kids were excited that our foiled travel plans left us with a chance to swim. My only tip is that the food isn't good at all. It's presented to you like there's a chef and it's a restaurant but it's really someone microwaving frozen meals in the back. Grab something else - even at the airport terminal, AUS has great food, before you grab the shuttle to Hyatt Place. There's nothing else in easy walking distance. read more

Super great staff and service. I flew in and had to stay here short term while I waited to get my rapid covid test before visiting friends and their new baby. The airport shuttle driver, Henry, is the BEST. He's kind and quick and on top of every request. The staff, including Hunter, made my stay easy and smooth. Check out isn't until noon, and they held my bags for me while I went to get tested, making my transition back into the real world super easy. Though the issue was with correspondence from my agency, she was condescending. She's lucky. I'm not from Texas. Those two dummies at the front counter should realize you never know who you are in the presence of and treat EVERYONE with dignity and respect and if either take issue with other POC, maybe they should go live somewhere else. The beds are comfortable but you need to train your staff. If you care about Blacks visiting your space, I would suggest you talk to them. I don't care if both of are POC. They clearly have an issue. I have stayed in many places in Austin but I'm not writing about my short stay at the Hyatt. I just want show and share the genuine human kindness I experienced today. After completing my stay in Austin, I have been stranded at the airport for a few days, as every flight I have booked has been cancelled. I made a trek to get snacks at the convenience store nearby and remembering the Hyatt, thought I'd ask for a blanket, hoping at the least I could purchase one The staff generously found one for me. As I walked in to the store, Joe, a driver for the Hyatt, offered to give me a lift to the store and drop me off at the airport. I give them credit for offering electric vehicle charging at all. However, why not offer an hourly parking rate for EV drivers wanting to pop in and use the charging stations? (I have called twice to confirm this). I doubt many guests coming to or from the airport are traveling with electric vehicles so who exactly is benefiting from these stations? According to the ChargePoint app, these stations have been used 5 times, 1 time, and 1 time respectively in the 10 months this hotel has been open. What a waste and a lost opportunity to bring revenue to the hotel. read more

Parking review. This used to be our go-to place to park for the AUS airport because of the location and price on Way.com. however. The service is always so slow to get a shuttle to and from the airport. Just now, the was our family of 4 plus one other family of 4. Hyatt has 2 vehicles they use as a shuttle: a mini van and larger bubble top van that we all could have fit in. They chose to take the small van with the other family first and come back for us after they make the round trip. THEY ARE SLOW AND DONT PROVIDE GOOD SERVICE. Not parking here again. Found another place nearby with shuttles that puck you up right at your car and arrived within 2 mins there and on the way back, the shuttle was waiting at the pick up gate. I stayed here for a week and had booked this hotel directly through a third party vacation package (prepaying for car, flight, and hotel). upon arrival I had been asked for a credit card to be charged for the price of the reservation but was told it was for incidentals only and would get it back upon checking out. Needless to say, once checking out, it's been over a week now and I have not received it back. I called the Hotel directly numerous times, and even left a voicemail to their manager, and haven't heard back at all. I ended up having to call my credit card company to dispute the charge. Absolutely ridiculous customer service. the stay itself was decent, so this review is purely on the customer service aspect. stop charging for incidentals and not returning the money back as promised. read more

Stayed here overnight while in town. Upon entering, the first thing I noticed was how modern, spacious and clean the lobby was, with all sorts of amenities, including work spaces, wireless printing and free WiFi all over the hotel. There's a full bar that also serves lunch and late night munchies, too! The free continental breakfast was fresh and delicious, with lots of healthy options like yogurt, oatmeal and fruit, along with traditional fare like bacon, eggs and French toast. The coffee was nice and strong, just the way I like it! The room we stayed in was clean and spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The window shades are controlled with remotes on the wall, which was a fancy touch. The only (tiny) gripe I had was the showerhead. It didn't have enough oopmph, but it did the trick. We were in an accessible room, so the bathroom was enormous! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again when in Austin! read more

I hope I have the attention of the staff. I travel and stay in multiple hotels weekly, year round. My complaint is that there is no lotion in the rooms: I'm forced to go down to the front desk and ask for body lotion, then go back up to my room to finish my morning routine or I could douse some on in the lobby or on the way to the airport... REALLY? I stay in dozens of different hotels yearly, all around the world and this is the only one that does not put lotion in the rooms...petty? OK, I could bring my own lotion but why would I if every hotel in the world provides for you... every hotel except for yours. Not word class. read more

Some Good, Some Not It's an airport hotel. Not new, but not falling apart. Clean but boring room. Bed is horrible. Way too firm. Room has a weird strong odor to it from whatever industrial cleanser is used. It's prevalent throughout the building. Could be improved by replacing the tired carpets and only using febreeze cleaning products. Problem solved. Food does suck. But location is great. Staff is very friendly.
