Nice hotel. Nicely decorated throughout. My company had us stay there for the Formula1 Grand Prix race. We rented the first floor meeting space. Food was excellent and service was very good. Rooftop pool and bar is a major plus. It was especially happening at night since it's open until 1 am. For my room, it was a good size with a nice modern look especially the bathrooms. My company paid for my room so not sure on the cost? It's centrally located near 6th street. Nice hotel!

The Otis has become my home away from home when working in Austin - which is most weeks and though I have tried other properties on occasion this is by far my favorite and one I stay at the most. Off towards the Campus area, they have both valet and self park, check in is always easy and the property always smells fabulous. The hotel has a beautiful look, you can pick up an album in the lobby to play via the record player that are in each room and the lobby is elegant with a bar and restaurant Rooms are comfortable and modern with very comfortable beds and great amenities! On this occasion I received a surprise upgrade to a corner suite ( I am Bonvoy Titanium soon to be Ambassador) and it was beautiful with floor to ceiling windows, huge bedroom with another room containing a desk and sofa! Great experience. Room service is phenomenal and all the food is delicious! The folks here are always lovely and I already have multiple more trips booked! My absolute favorite hotel in Austin!

We came for a private event at the rooftop area of this hotel! We had a big tailgate for Clemson fans prior to the Clemson Texas playoff game. I got avocado toast and it was mediocre, also got 4 mimosas and they were alright as well. It is a beautiful rooftop space with great weather and ambiance. Such a pretty hotel!

What a fun hotel. We went downtown for a concert and I didn't want to have to go home late at night. Checked in before the show knowing nothing about this place. The lobby has a record collection you can borrow and each room has a player! I signed out a favorite album and got to jam for a few before we left to the show. There was an amazing variety. The room and halls were very tastefully decorated. Not your normal average hotel. The prices are not much more either so it's worth a try. After the show we went to the bar just before last call and had some tasty drinks. Great staff all around at the bar, restaurant and front desk. We had breakfast in the restaurant before leaving and it was great. All around a great experience and will definitely do it again when we see another event in downtown Austin.

This hotel gives ALL the vibes, ALL of them! We stayed during the Texas relays, and everything was perfect. Immediately greeted when checking in, was offered champagne and was upgraded to a city view on a high floor. They don't have an M-Lounge, so we were given breakfast vouchers instead. Rooms are a decent size and really cute. As others stated, the shower is in an open space, so birthday suits will definitely be shown if people walk in and out of the room...HA! The room had a record player , and you can check out records to play, but our stay was too short to take advantage. Now, this rooftop, though!!! I spent all afternoon and evening up there. It's absolutely gorgeous and has a fire pit and heat lamps if needed. Add a bar, food, pool, cabanas, light music and a view.... yall know where I'll be! Breakfast is menu only, and something about those scrambled eggs and their breakfast potatoes wants me to return for just that. I can't speak for lunch or dinner, but as a non breakfast person, it was very good! Lots of places in walking distance, so no worries having to leave the immediate area if you don't want to. Again, we loved it and wish we were there more than 1 night. We'd stay again in a heartbeat!

I had a great three night stay here as part of a conference. Love the in room record players. Gold status got me upgraded to one of the large corner suites - thanks for that. The front desk service here is friendly and responsive. Being next to the UT campus is energizing with some fun stores - though most of the hotel looks out on to busy fast food palaces. Both the lobby and roof top bar make excellent cocktails - try an old fashioned or a Tajin margarita. I asked them to get the TV working twice and they didn't make it happen but I appreciate the try. The conference space is comfortable and close to the rooms. I'll be back, Otis!

Booked a night at the Otis due to its proximity to the Moody Center and because it looked like a cute, hip little hotel. We were in town to see Dave Chappelle and didn't want to have to drive all the way back to Round Rock after the show. We took our dogs with us since it is dog friendly. The hotel looks just as photogenic in person as in the photos and we found all the staff friendly and helpful. The room has a slightly unusual layout in that you enter in the bathroom area, then pass through a barn door to the bedroom. The room is well-appointed with a record player which you can play LPs borrowed from their extensive collection. They have someone to find the perfect tunes based on your preferences, but we never saw them. There is also a nespresso machine and pods for morning coffee. The bathroom is lovely and has lots of little details I liked, including lights that come on when you enter the room, makeup remover towelettes, and a little accessory kit with a nail file, q-tips, cotton balls, etc. The hotel is close enough to walk back to from the Moody, even in four inch heels, lol. There is a P. Terry's and a Chick-fil-A across the street, so you can eat on the cheap if you want, but the food at 41 Acres is worth staying in for! We had the Wonton tacos, burrata, and a burger while there and everything was delicious! Happy hour makes it an economical choice. The only negative is that as a dog friendly hotel, I'd call them more dog tolerant. We had to ask for dog bowls for the room, even though I had called the day of to tell the front desk that I was bringing two dogs. They only sent up one set of bowls when I asked for some. There is not really any place to go relieve your pets except for the LDS church office a block away, and they didn't provide any dog beds for them. The fee for dogs is $100/ stay, regardless of the number of dogs. Kimpton properties don't charge for pets and always have beds, bowls, and toys in the room, treats at the front desk, etc. It is a wonderful stay for the humans, though! Go enjoy the rooftop pool and bar, especially at sunset. We didn't get to, so do it for us!

    Our $300 per night view!?!?

The hotel is not close to any decent restaurants except Chic Fil A or Cane's and the room is UBER small and the price is sky high!!! Staff is excellent but $65.00 nightly to park after being gouged for a tiny room is outrageous the turn table...Will not be coming back to the Otis.

From the moment I walked into the lobby I really loved this hotel and the best part is that it is part of the Marriott brand so I got points for my stay. Very efficient and friendly check in. They have a cool record (vinyl) section in the lobby where you can check out some vinyls to play on a record player in your room. Nice touch being that you are in Austin. Room is very modern, chic and clean. Bed is super comfy. The room has a safe but no fridge but other than that I loved the layout and all the amenities in the room. They have a roof top bar/pool Otopia that has a great view of the city. When you check in they even tell you the time of the sunset so you can check out the rooftop area and have a drink or two. They have a beautiful restaurant onsite Acre 41 which had some unique cocktails and an awesome menu. Definitely order the truffle spaghetti. Hotel has valet and self-parking garage. There's a lot of fast food restaurants within walking distance but not really walking distance to restaurants but it's still close to downtown. This is now on my list of hotels to stay at when I'm in Austin.

Located on the topmost floor, Nido offers stunning views of the river and downtown Austin. With both indoor and outdoor seating, the ambiance is elegant and ideal for a special evening. During our visit, we saw a couple of groups celebrating birthdays and wedding anniversaries, which shows how perfect this place is for special occasions. The pricing is on the higher side, but it matches the upscale experience and beautiful setting. For dinner, we ordered the Burrata as an appetizer and the Autumn Garden for the main course, along with an American IPA and a Jack Frost cocktail. Everything was delicious, but the Burrata truly stood out as my favorite. Breakfast was equally enjoyable--we had custom-made omelettes with veggies and avocado toast, both fresh and flavorful. Overall, The Loren Hotel, along with Nido, offers a great blend of comfort, excellent food, and a beautiful atmosphere. The Friday night gathering was amazing. It was a perfect setting on the eight floor to talk, mingle, and meet new people. The evening was warm enough to go outside on the balcony/deck and have conversations and enjoy a breeze. The room itself is large with a water station and a bar. A few short tables were set up for sitting and a few tall ones for standing. They had a nice selection of drinks from beer and wine to mixed drinks. The food included lobster rolls, sliders (chicken and beef), a tray of different veggies and dips, little balls of cheese and something, and aroncini? My favorite was canapés of Mellon and prosciutto. The saltiness of the prosciutto added to the flavor of the melon. This event was 5***** I blame the architect for the room setup. Why would you put bedrooms on the side of a hotel next to traffic. The noise, honking and sirens. It finally quieted down around 11:30. Saturday was also an issue. They do provide ear plugs and sound machines, neither works for me. I was also surprised there was no lotion in the room. There was no microwave. Everything else in the room was top notch. Robes, slippers, a safe, a bar, and fridge. Overall, the noise is what created the 3*** rating. That was very disappointing.

Two double beds were comfy and plenty of towels. Our first night's stay was decent. Surprised to know they seem to use softened water because it made our skin feel slippery. I noticed the shower gel holder was falling out of the wall. A precarious situation of having to carefully pull the mechanism to dispense without pulling too hard. I did notify the night staff but the next day, it didn't seem like anyone came to fix it. No extra body wash or soap was provided even when I asked for some. The wall sockets with the en-suite appliances was not usable. The electrical outlets weren't working so we couldn't toast anything, use the kettle, or the coffee machine. Couldn't find one with a GFCI breaker to reset that side so gave up. Interestingly, the full-sized fridge and microwave were working ok though. The rod for one of the window curtains fell off while opening them. Because it's floor to ceiling we just left it alone. The common spaces around the property are well decorated, from the Library, Executive board room, kids corner, gym/yoga studio, and outdoor lounge space. Although, the snack/tea/coffee station with Keurig isn't filled maintained often. We had to ask the night staff to refill the water for tea and the lobby water dispenser was constantly low as well. On our second to last day, I found the hot water and still water station downstairs at Simona's. Pros: Clean, comfy, affordable stay. Enjoyed the bottomless drip coffee $5 and their signature Breakfast at Tiffany's latte. Also appreciated them letting us do late checkout and upgrade our room. Cons: Complimentary water station, Keurig / snack station, overall maintenance of room amenities could be handled better. Warning: If booking from 3rd party (BILT, Capital One Portal...) the added parking is not the same price that's on Colton's House's website. It's actually $40/day (with in/out privileges). However if booking directly through Colton House for stays, parking is 50% off at $20. Would we stay here again in the future? Most likely not. For an SLH property, we may look for another better-maintained option in the future.
