Booked this place for the weekend for a family getaway, and it was an overall good experience! Great open lobby area, has friendly staff and was able to get my requests done fairly well and quickly in time. The design is definitely modern and contemporary and up to the times. The breakfast they serve is pretty solid, offer a variety of hot and cold items, they have water, coffee and tea all day, along with a small shop for some drinks or snack foods. Some things about the room, overall it was good but maybe just a few things to keep in mind when you stay: Check the sink, the faucet is placed in a weird area to hit the back of the mirror Check the sofa bed, make sure it has everything in it and it's not missing anything like a mattress Check the curtains to make sure it has black-out curtains and regular curtains as well read more

Having booked this place in July for us to arrive in August was one of the best things we did. We were looking for decently priced rooms within the Austin area and it did not disappoint. We arrived a little later than we had anticipated, however, checking in was a breeze. We were issued our room keys and we did not have a problem with our room. One thing I admired was the fact they had apples at the front desk. This made me smile because you never know if you're hungry or just need a snack for the road. And, we were also given 2 complimentary water bottles. Truth be told, we went during a heat wave, so the A/C was definitely working. The breakfast area was cute and cozy and I was happy to see alternatives to regular milk (oat milk fan!)!!!!!! We travelled from LA to assist a family member with moving into the Austin area and were amazed to know that we happened to stay next to the Outlets. Downtown Austin was only a 20min drive south, which wasn't bad at all. As we were next to the I-35, it meant we did not need to get on the toll roads which worked out as our family member stays next to the 35 and additional family members who live about an hour south of Austin are also near the 35! I would definitely recommend reserving rooms here !!!!!! read more

Had a 3 day stay this week at Hyatt Place and there's some good, some bad, and some really bad. The good is that the hotel is nice and was a steal at 5,000 points/night. Sadly, they just changed their pricing and moving forward it will be 8,000 points. The room was great, very spacious and had a coffeemaker and a fridge, which I always appreciate. Staff was nice... shoutout to Naylah from the front desk overnight shift. The bad is that they advertise 24/7 coffee in the lobby and it wasn't hot every time I tried. On the last day one of the staff offered to make me a fresh coffee from the machine behind the bar. Wish I'd have known they would do that, or maybe she was just being particularly nice? The really bad is that they did not respect my late check-out. As a Hyatt Explorist I get 2pm late check-out, which they let me select on the app when I checked in and confirmed the night before. Well, housekeeping knocked on my door hours before this and woke me up when I had an especially late night working. I had a long day planned the day I checked out and as a result, I was unrested and performed poorly and now my sleep schedule 2 days later is all out of whack. The entire point of a hotel stay is to get a good night sleep, and I didn't get it on the most important night of my stay. read more

I was very happy with this hotel. One thing that always is very important to me is a cold AC in a comfortable bed and these guys knock it out the park. I'll explain below. Hotel room: like I said above the bed is extremely comfortable here. You can tell they spent the extra dollars to get better bed for their clients. When hotels do this I am a huge fan and I will definitely come back here. Comfortable beds or make it or break it for me. I have checked out of hotels for uncomfortable beds. Well you won't have to do that here because these guys spent the money and they purchased comfortable beds.l for their clients. So thank you for that. The AC was ice cold and I slept like a baby. The shower was nice and fully stocked with all the toiletries that you need. They even have a really good workspace if you need to hook up your laptop and get some stuff done. Like all hotels they don't have much for breakfast but that's understandable as were dealing with this COVID-19. The people working at the breakfast station were extremely nice and made sure we had everything we needed to get back on the road. I will definitely keep this on my go to for hotels in the area. Okay, let's get into it! Location- such a convenient location right of I-35 near cedar park and north Austin. So much shopping and dining nearby. Plenty of parking too. Service- Shout Out to Victoria she was so sweet and nice and had breakfast ready every morning. Taste- breakfast was great for a hotel. The waffles were my absolute favorite they were so good! Pets- the pet area is small for them to do their business. Cons- I paid via Priceline and they tried to charge me for the full stay. Also, they tried to charge me a stay "fee" in the middle of my stay for 2 days, taking some of my birthday money. Thankfully USAA is amazing and their staff was willing to speak with them directly so they could provide them with the refund ID# so I got my money back right away with no delay. They also didn't know how the bar charges show up on your bill so I started to dispute the charges as they don't come up as the hotel name and they couldn't identify the name charging me. However, I did some digging because the bartender was great and I wanted to make sure he got his tip. Found my ticket and was able to confirm all the changes matched the bill. They also were under construction which was only a minor inconvenience for the 1st 2 days. Overall- I enjoyed my stay I stayed for about 5 days. The only hiccups I had was with billing. But the staff was kind and accommodating and resolved the issues quickly. So I didn't deduct any stars. read more

Coming from LA for a convention nearby, we stayed here on a recent Friday night using my Hyatt rewards. Check in was quick and bottle water was offered for Hyatt members. They do have lemon flavored water by the elevator with cups. This is great during the TX summer heat! We had just stayed at a Hyatt Place recently in Santa Barbara and our room here in Round Rock was exactly identical. Plenty of room with a sofa bed. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was offered. I did not see any yogurt but I really like the ready made liege waffles. The uber ride from Austin airport was about 30 minutes, and I would stay here again! read more

Given Covid, been about a year since my last stay in a hotel & first time staying at a Hyatt Place. This one is located close to stores/restaurants & about a 20 minute drive to Austin (without traffic) We got the 2 queen beds with sleeper sofa room-high floor. Our room was a decent size & had a mini fridge. Beds were comfortable & bathroom had a sliding door shower vs curtain which was a plus. Room was clean with extra measures still in place (I.e. TV remote in sealed bag) Work spaces in the lobby area which was a nice touch. Fitness room was ok with a couple of Treadmills, bike & elliptical for cardio & dumbbells for weights. Outdoor pool was a decent size but not heated. Full breakfast is back with eggs, bacon, potatoes & French Toast sticks. Check in and check out was seamless with friendly and service minded people throughout. Great value for money and would definitely come back! read more

So starting with the good. I was able to check in earlier than expected. It really easy to get my room. Ok the bad. So I just got back from a tournament all day. It's 1130 at night and I'm exhausted. I went in the bathroom to get ready to shower. I happened to throw my makeup wipe into the trash and there's a sanitary napkin in the trash!! I am here alone and have no need for a sanitary napkin. I immediately called the front desk. I told him that either someone used it while I was gone! Or it wasn't cleaned when I checked in. He seemed to not understand. I asked him to come to the room to see for himself. He suddenly understood my disgust. He took the trash out. I asked him to please get someone to come clean it. This was a great place. Sad that we only had one night to spend. Service was excellent from the front desk to the bartender to the wonderful lady putting out the breakfast. All so nice. Stayed at this hotel over the weekend, coming in for a wedding. This place is conveniently located to I-35, multiple shopping area and restaurants. Place is super clean and the rooms are spacious. Hotel staff are personable and friendly. Great bartender for late-night libations. The only "off-note" was the breakfast. The eggs taste like an egg cake & I tried 4 times to get a piece of toast through the toaster. My family and I stayed in a double Queen room here for ten days while searching for our new home in Austin. Overall it was an excellent stay. It has an upscale feel... nice tile, nice carpet, spacious rooms (we even had a sofa and desk), new fixtures, etc. We were situated on the fifth floor close to the stairs. During the week, the hotel was rather quiet. On the weekends, it was noticeably busier, but by no means packed. We only had noisy neighbors one of the nights, since the hotel was spacing people out. What pleased me most during our stay was that the pool (and fitness center) were open. They regulated occupancy through a simple check-in system at the front desk. It felt so good to take a sunset swim in the hot July air, and truly a treat during COVID-19 precautions when most hotels aren't bothering. Fresh towels were available poolside. Restrooms were indoors, adjacent to the pool and fitness center. They also had a continental breakfast. By no means fancy, but quite appreciated nonetheless, since it meant we didn't have to go out or spend additional money on a morning meal. Each day had the same offering: bananas, individually wrapped muffins, instant oat meal cups, yogurt, cereal, and milk, OJ, and Apple juice. The maids do not enter your room during your stay as "new normal" procedure. Instead, a large "goodie bag" is dropped off at your door in the hall periodically (or can be requested at the front desk), containing essentials such as towels, bed linens, TP, soap/shampoo, coffee, etc. You simply bag and place your used items (and trash) in the hall when you are finished with them so the maids can pick them up along their route. The procedure seemed to work pretty well. Ice machines are located on even number floors (2, 4, and 6) and the washer/dryer are located on floor 3. Washing and drying are complementary, and detergent can be purchased at the front desk for $1.50. Great deal! Very helpful for longer stays. There were only very minor inconveniences during our long stay. Our door had a quirk that it wouldn't shut unless you tugged fairly hard on it. We had to reach into the toilet tank to shore up the chain because it was doing the "eternal flush." And the telephone was so confusing that we found it nearly inoperable. Also the previous guests had put a child lock on the TV programming, LOL. The staff were very friendly and would always say hello to you when you encountered them. If we'd stayed any longer, they'd've probably learned all of our names! read more

The place looks nice on the surface. What I am having an issue with is the Raggedy ass beds. My family and I checked into room 415. The pull out bed was like sleeping on rocks. The metal in the mattress is EXTREMELY uncomfortable. The other beds in the room had long strands of hair on the pillows. I guess it's safe to say these lazy fucks don't change the bed after checkout. Mind you my flight arrived after midnight. It's now after 1am and I have to call front desk to bring up new sheets and pillow cases. I changed the beds myself cause the lazy ass front desk lady wasn't going to change them. I didn't want to change rooms for fear the beds would be dirty at least if I changed the sheets myself I know they're clean. When I go to change the beds I noticed now raggedy the mattresses were and how dinghy the blankets,sheets and pillow cases were. The Hyatt need to purchase new linens. They should be ashamed of themselves. read more

This hotel did not disappoint! After viewing the photos online I thought to myself "I bet it doesn't really look like that. It's too perfect." Well boy was I wrong. Upon checking in I surveyed the room accommodation with surprise. It really WAS perfect. Wow. It was spacious and clean. No worn out blankets or fixtures. Everything felt upscale not shabby. The price was a little higher than I would have liked but it was totally worth every penny. I could not hear one sound from the surrounding rooms. And I know the hotel was booked solid. So I was expecting noise. But nothing. Amazing. They must have some top quality sound proofing on the walls. I literally cannot come up with any complaints. Fantastic place to stay. The rooms are nice but housekeeping didn't fill up the shampoo and body wash in my shower so those were completely out. Also, the bar is horrible. The one guy working the bar is also the one guy making food so sometimes he disappears for 10 minutes and you can't get a drink. When he finally came back they were completely out of all red wine. One shyster issue is bad enough but I had to deal with two shyster issues here. While the hotel is new and the neighborhood is quiet, I received horrible customer service from the front desk customer service rep, Zara. She doesn't seem to have any customer service skills whatsoever. She's downright scary. She has to be bipolar or something? Or shyster? Or both? After keeping me waiting for over an hour to check in... until almost midnight (their computer system was allegedly down), she started lecturing me on patience and courtesy when I asked her (once!) if her system was back up and running! Excuse me! Just one question asked timidly and politely... and she's lecturing me? How lovely to assume that your job title is tenured professor at the Hyatt :-) She wanted to take my credit card (without me) to a back room where the computer was running just fine. She said that I couldn't go to the back room with my card. When I told her that I wasn't going to let my credit card out of my sight, she said that she was a person of integrity and that I could go sleep in my car then. Then she got highly aggressive, raised her voice, and started shouting at me...at that point, the female security guard intervened and told her "that's enough." Charming, just charming!! Typically, I wouldn't have thought "shyster" if someone needed to take my credit card to a back room. This was a "pre-paid in full" reservation that I had made well in advance of my arrival at the hotel, so my credit card wasn't even required because everything was paid for in full and in advance. When I explained this to her, she said that she would still need to take my credit card to the back room. I have a general policy not to let my card out of my sight, so I offered to go to the back room with her. This just made her extremely aggressive and agitated toward me. That's when a million alarm bells started going off in my head and I had a gut feeling that something was very askew. When someone gets aggro toward me, I know right away that it has nothing to do with me and everything to do with them and their issues. Then, like a blessing, another front desk employee, Patrick, arrived at midnight to start his shift and he said that they didn't need my credit card for incidental damages (I'm a long-time World of Hyatt member and I've never damaged any rooms)... and he immediately made me a key! Yes, that's right - no credit card needed at all. What's crazier is that he could see my prepaid reservation just fine at the front desk computer. Did the system miraculously come back up immediately upon his arrival? On another occasion, Zara referred to me as "you young people" and she lectured me on "trying to be happy sometime." So wise, so charming, the best customer service ANY where I've stayed in the world is right here at Hyatt Place - Austin/Round Rock. I'm flattered that she thinks I'm young but I'm really old. Or at least I think that I'm old at my age. Where do they find these scary (bipolar and/or shyster) women in customer service? Another issue: my turquoise necklace went missing from my room and in spite of many attempts to find it by the front desk staff (who reached out to housekeeping thrice), it wasn't found until I escalated the issue and took it up with the hotel manager, Jeremy. It was found instantly when Jeremy sent his HR manager to housekeeping. read more

Comparing this Hyatt to my past experiences at other Hyatts and my expectations, I was truly disappointed. I'll break this into pros and cons. Pros: the location is very convenient to the highway, places to eat, and Downtown (roughly 15 minutes away). There's plenty of parking available, some might be in direct Texas sunlight, but there's parking nonetheless. The facilities are pretty clean and fairly quiet. We rarely heard anyone acting up in the halls (running around, kids screaming, that kind of stuff) and it was a relatively quiet stay... minus the strange sounds coming from next door. I'm going to guess the man 1 room over was enjoying a VERY wonderful lunch and couldn't contain his jubilations. Yes... let's say it was lunch because why else would someone be that "emotional" at 3:30pm on a Monday. Segueing into the cons, the walls are pretty thin. It would be great not hearing someone enjoying their "afternoon sandwich" or walking around at 6am. The WiFi is abysmal. The further you are from the hallway, the worse it is. I'd prefer not having to sit in the bathroom just to watch Netflix on my laptop, but that's just me. It's free so I guess I can't complain. Speaking of bathroom, it was subpar in terms of cleanliness. The bathroom had obvious signs of mold in the corners of the shower and was quite cozy for 2 people to maneuver in. Again, at most Hyatts we've frequented, the bathroom's spacious enough for 2 adults. Another big wtf moment was when we opted for housekeeping 1 morning. 2 days into our 4 night stay, we left early enough to have housekeeping do their thing. Well they did, but they also turned off the "Master Switch" in our room and that turned everything off. I mean EVERYTHING. The mini fridge that stashed our food was off when we returned 8 hours later. All the perishables had to be trashed because we came back to a hotter than hell mini fridge. I was pissed. Who does that? Why? Why? My husband called to request the front desk leave a note with housekeeping to NOT turn off the "Master Switch" in our room, but they seemed oblivious to that even being a possibility. That brings me to the next point, the staff could be friendlier. The 2 women who checked us into our room were a joy to chat with but everyone else was meh. We'd get the typical "good morning" greeting but it felt cold. Little things like that go a long way so they should make more of an effort in hospitality. Housekeeping was also kind of rude. We requested additional towels since we were only given 2 after they cleaned our room and when the woman brought the towels, she was just like "here" and shoved 2 extras at us. Hyatt is doing this thing where they're allowing the free breakfast buffet option for World of Hyatt members only. To be a member, all you have to do is provide an email, but I don't see why they're doing this since there are no real barriers to entry (i.e. a monthly fee). It seems like a waste of time, frankly. Speaking of breakfast, it was quite uninspiring. They had the typical boxy-looking eggs, fruit, bacon, tortilla fixings, yogurt and granola bits, and toast but, but no waffles nor pancakes? I was truly baffled the only carb-loaded option was toast. Their plates and silverware were often dirty as well, but the dining area crew was kind, all things considered. Having booked through Booking.com, I had a set of expectations based on past reviews from others that weren't met at all. If I wanted this experience, honestly I would've booked a Holiday Inn (not that they suck, but that's the expected experience -- like, you don't go to McDonalds and expect lobster tails). I've had better experiences and breakfasts at a Best Western so if I'm ever in town again, I'll check out BW before coming back here. read more

My family was fortunate enough to have a room at the Hyatt Place during the recent ice storm. We have 2 young kids and needed a warm place to stay. The hotel was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Just what we needed. The included breakfast was delicious and kids enjoyed exploring the hotel. My immense gratitude goes to Manager Jane! She helped us extend our stay by two extra days when our power still wasn't back on at home. She is kind, accommodating, professional and runs a great hotel. Checked in online at 1:30 p.m. Indicated I would receive an email when my room was ready. Regular check-in is at 4 p.m.. I received an email at 6:30 p.m. letting me know my room was ready after I called and the front desk told me my room had been ready since 5:30 p.m. Again regular check-in was at 4 p.m Beds we're okay but if you have any sleeping issues I would not recommend. It did make my back a little sore, however I do suffer from occasional back pain If you have small children that still take baths I would not recommend this hotel. Only the handicap rooms have a bathtub. I confirm this with the front desk once I realized our room did not have a tub it only had a shower. @Midnight the back entrance doors were unlocked Although there was a sign stating you needed to use your room card swipe to open the back doors that lead to the elevator this was not the case. Great room it was clean no complaints and there was free breakfast which was really good and not only that there didn't have the same thing. The young girl that checked us in needs to have someone help her brush up on her people skills. My family and I loved staying at this hotel. It is new, clean, quiet & has comfy beds. The room was big with a sofa area next to the bed where my kids could hang out and watch the big flat screen tv while we got ready. The exercise area was clean & had enough equipment to do the trick. The outdoor pool was small & a little lackluster, but we weren't interested so that wasn't an issue for us. The staff were quite friendly and helpful. Kelly is awesome! We also really enjoyed the included buffet breakfast which included freshly cut fruit, cage free scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, bacon, potatoes, pancakes or French toast (depended on the day), various types of bread and English muffins that you could toast, oatmeal, various dry cereals, milk, OJ, apple juice, coffee, and tea.
