The Hyatt Place Grapevine was an unexpected layover when my flight was canceled due to weather. Even though my travel plans changed at the last minute, I was pleasantly surprised by how convenient and comfortable this hotel turned out to be. Not knowing the area, I booked the Hyatt Place Grapevine because it was located near DFW and had plenty of places within walking distance. The hotel rooms are exactly what you would expect from a Hyatt Place: clean, comfortable, and well designed for a short stay. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming, which made an already stressful travel day much easier. I also appreciated that the hotel offers a complimentary airport shuttle, although it is worth noting that service ends at 11:00 p.m. The gym is great, the little market is convenient, and for a one-night stay, it met all of my needs. Having restaurants and shopping nearby was an added bonus and made it easy to relax without needing a rental car. If I ever find myself needing to stay near DFW again, I would not hesitate to book this hotel. read more

Located next to an outlet mall and close to DFW airport, this Hyatt Place location is dark and not very welcoming. Check in was ok. No welcome as a World of Hyatt member - but the Hyatt awards program is so weak now it's not worth worrrying about (they don't even give you a bottle of water). Used to love the cookies and sandwiches at Hyatt Place but no food available other than the very meh breakfast. Room needed some attention (paint, refinishing of furniture, etc). It looked well worn. The Hyatt Place chain seems to be a forgotten brand by Hyatt. They used to be nice. My room was almost $200/night. Not worth it at that price. read more

I stayed here due to an over night layover at DFW. Located less than a 10 min drive from DFW, it's your typical Hyatt Place layout and setup. My room was clean, comfy and quiet. Check-in and checkout were fast and easy. The airport shuttle was out due to maintenance but the hotel reimbursed me for ride-share costs to and from. The only thing keeping it from a 5 star review is the breakfast was very limited and lacking. Other food options, both morning and late night, in the area are sparse. read more

This hotel is old and not as nice as some of the other Hyatt Place locations I've stayed at. The hotel is in a cluster of other hotels so it's super busy. It seemed to be safe enough for us to walk our dogs. It was nice to have a spot for it but the owners of dogs made it disgusting. I don't understand why people don't pick up after their dogs. The hotel provided dog bags and a trash can in the dog area. The rooms were nice but a bit tight with two queens and a sofa bed. The AC is an old unit that created so much condensation that it warped the ceiling and wall as well as left the carpet near it wet, not damp. Also, the unit couldn't keep up with the Texas heat. The unit also couldn't blow past the second bed so the kids sleeping on the sofa bed were very hot. The staff wasn't all that great. No one would clean the breakfast area so it was a mess. Things like the bread weren't refilled. Cereal was everywhere and so was granola. Forks were facing up so when people grabbed their fork, they would touch other forks that people would eventually eat off of. The handle should be up, btw. The warms items were placed on warmers but curious if the warmers work. The egg omelets were made with what looks like velveeta or nacho cheese. The pet fee was $75 and it was the most affordable option compared to other dog friendly hotels. When we asked for things it took a long time for staff to respond. If you don't go down to the front desk to ask for things or if you don't follow up, you won't get your items. The pool was nice but super crowded. The location of the hotel was great because it was near the mall and a lot of restaurants. It was also very close to the Gaylord Texan. Hyatt has a shuttle that takes you over to the Gaylord because parking is $25 after 30 minutes. This was useful. If I return to the area, I'd probably spend a little more to stay elsewhere. read more

We checked in on a Thursday, but the employee that "checked us in" didn't do it, they say. On Friday at 10:49 pm, we get a knock on the door saying we are not supposed to be in the room. They had no record of my check-in! After getting dressed and having to prove I was supposed to be there, they apologized, nice. Before all that happened, I had requested a new room (Thursday). Pets are allowed at this hotel (I will check next time, my mistake), and I have a husband that is highly allergic to cats and dogs! I asked for a room change which they said they would do in the morning. This never happened, I guess, because they didn't have us checked in. But they could SEE I was there and made a note on the account. The breakfast yall! If you are expecting a good breakfast, DO NOT stay here! Powdered eggs, microwaved potato, and sausage, sour fruit; that is what you get! Do not let the pictures on the website fool you! This stay has made me a customer of any other hotel chain! Leaky roof, trash cans in the hallways, squishy carpet as you walk through, no coffee...yeah, none, powdered eggs, French toast sticks, noisy rooms, a toilet that goes off in the middle of the night and the absolute worst toilet paper available. These are what to expect. How about the manager goes to Costco and buys a few big coffee makers? I get one day.. But, three? Stay somewhere else. I stayed here for the Raiders vs Dallas weekend festivities. Hotel is in a great area right off the freeway, and directly across the street from the mall. They have a shuttle that will pick you up, and drop you off at the airport. My room was clean, and spacious. The bedroom had a partition separating the bedroom from the livingroom/sitting area. There was a refrigerator, but no microwave. I did not have a chance to check out the continental breakfast, but I was told by another Raider fan that it was decent. The customer service, and staff was very accommodating and you were always greeted with a smile no matter how late or early it was once you walked through the hotel lobby doors. read more

We had a great experience visiting Grapevine for the first time. hotel was very accommodating with my two service dogs saving a downstairs room for us close to the exits plenty of dog grass areas and bags . Front desk also was very nice to us making sure treats I ordered for my arriving family members were given to them upon check in ! Loved the breakfast as well kept stocked during the hours for everyone to enjoy . We also enjoyed our comfortable rooms with sofas plenty of parking ! I love that they offer free shuttle service to the hotel and from the hotel as long as it's in a 5 mile radius of the hotel. I took advantage of this service from and to the DFW Airport and I have to see it's one of the better shuttle services I've seen. The drivers are timely and you didn't have to wait long to have them arrive to pick you up. I would like to call out the two drivers I dealt with, Willie and Tim, they were amazing! So social and very courteous. The gentlemen at the front desk were a different story. They were lack luster and a bit unapproachable. They just both seemed annoyed and grouchy. I just felt like I was bothering them though I would have to say to appease the guest is their job? The only extra thing I asked for were tampons. The face at the front is the identity of the hotel so I feel the hotel needs to try a bit harder training their current employees at front desk to be a bit friendlier and try as much as they can to put their personal problems aside. The room itself was pretty nice. Found two hairs in the shower that were not mine (dark hairs and I'm blonde) but it wasn't the end of the world. The furniture is a tad bit run down but that's me being picky. Overall, the room was very comfortable and the layout was very nice. Liked there was a nice area for me to comfortably work on my laptop. The lighting in the room was nice too. The gym was nice and was able to take advantage of that. I really really hate to leave a bad review since the staff were SO nice. Like seriously, the nicest hotel staff I've ever experienced. But my issues with the housekeeping are unfortunately too problematic to ignore. I'll start with the mild things and go from there. This is completely out of the staff's control, but a lot of the other guests were very just, uncivilized. Lots of Karens. Said Karens were making an absolute mess of the breakfast bar provided by the hotel, snatching all of the hot food items AS they were being put out. The kitchen seemed a little understaffed, and these people gave them zero grace. Leaving an even bigger mess after eating, not even bothering to throw away their trash. Also saw some couples ~getting frisky~ in the elevator as we were waiting to get in one to go eat breakfast. This isn't Vegas, this is Grapevine Texas. There's children here. Again, this last part does not have anything to do with my overall rating, just something to keep in mind when considering staying here as a family. Now for the things in the hotels control. Elevator was a little sketch. One was out of order when we arrived, and by that evening it was up and running, but both elevators were a little bumpier and it took a little too long for the doors to open when stopping on a floor for my comfort. The AC was IMMACULATE. 100/10. Only thing is that after the AC had been off for a little while the room starts to smell like a musty hospital. Coming in after a day of being out and about? MUSTY MUSTY MUSTY. I know that "hospital smell" usually has to do with the cleaning/sanitation products, but I will address why I doubt it. The big issue: I now have head lice. No one in my family has EVER gotten lice. We stayed in a room with two beds, my mother did not get it, but I did. I spoke with my coworkers and there's no way I got it at work either, I don't even work where it would be possible to spread it. So after doing my research, the time I must have caught it was during my stay. The pillows/bedding must not be getting properly washed and sanitized between guests. I'm grateful that head lice is the ONLY thing I seem to have left with, but nonetheless, I am sitting here marinating in lice killer that reeks. If it weren't for the fact I am now dealing with my biggest irrational fear, my review would be better. But seriously it's taking all I have not to rip my hair out. read more

I went to my room, and turned out the room is kinda old. The bathroom smells bad. The shower room only hot water is working. I asked several times to fix it, but it's still broken. I have to literally asked them to transfer me to other room. That's why I did an early checkout. Also, they're airport shuttle driver sent me to wrong airline, I told him clearly what airline he will drop me but still he told me that this is the one. So, I have to walk outside for me to go to the right airline. Such a hassle, and he seems like he was too lazy to work anymore, thinking that I was the only passenger he got. read more

I have stayed here before the pandemic and it was a solid 4 stars experience. The breakfast buffet is better than some of the other mid range hotels. Rooms are clean and the hotel is far enough from the airport so you don't hear the planes landing and taking off. Not like the hotel I stayed at Chicago O'hare where they issued you earplugs when you checked in. My only complaint about the hotel is there is no microwave in the room and the AC units are really loud. There is a pool and exercise room with weights. Another big benefit to the location is the mall across the street. I would stay here again. read more

Saving grace after flight cancellations! We checked into the hotel around midnight and the staff was incredibly friendly after what appeared as a shift from hell. Andrea the AGM went above and beyond to help us with food and recommendations. She was energetic and willing to go the extra mile even at 1:30 AM. The rooms were clean, updated and well supplied. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. I was probably asleep with in 10 minutes of laying on the bed. Customer service was very nice, no problems to report, The complimentary breakfast was very surprising. Normally when you hear complimentary breakfast, I think just cereal and muffins. This place had that a well as scrambled eggs, potatoes and biscuits with sausage gravy. Breakfast ends at 930, so make sure you are able to get out of your cloud in time. The hotel is very conveniently located near Grapevine Mills, the gaylord and not far from downtown. For convenience alone I highly recommend this place. read more

We ended up staying at Hyatt Place Dallas / Grapevine by calling at about 6am and asking for a room and shuttle for now until 11am, b/c we wanted a few hours of sleep between flights. They were great. The minute we got there we had breakfast which was really good and plentiful. They had a buffet which had pretty much anything you could want to eat on it, as well as excellent coffee, and orange juice. The room was really comfortable, and the beds and pillows were soft. They did mess up by sending the driver out earlier than we had heard he was going to leave, (we specifically asked for 11am) but they made it right by paying for the Uber, so that was fine. The Hyatt isn't really my go-to Hotel chain during my travels. I'm an IHG illuminati member, so that's where my loyalty usually lies. But colleagues swear by this hotel, so I decided to go along with the plans. Location/Parking: Located about 4 minutes [OUTSIDE] from the Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) airport, it is found within hotel valley in Grapevine. It is nicely placed across from the Grapevine Mills mall and a series of restaurant options on the perimeter of the area. Since it's found within a cluster of hotels, parking AT the actual hotel can be a bit tricky. We actually first rolled into Springhill Suites, then found ourselves in Homewood Suites, and then finally by process of elimination, found ourselves correctly parking at the Hyatt. Lobby: The lobby decor is definitely better than your standard Holiday Inn. It has nice tables, a small bar, and cashiers that are friendly and really get the hotel customer service experience. They had my reservations already set and only had to give my credit card and Drivers license to prove validity. Then, they proceeded with thanking me for being a Hyatt member (which I didn't even know I had). I then went to my room. Room: For a "good" rate of $162, the room was welcoming. I had to book a late hotel, so I was given what was left. I had a full couch, a coffee bar area, fridge, 42" TV, and two double beds (it was all they had left! However, the bed was comfortable and didn't mind the small size as opposed to one king size bed. The AC was a wall unit, so having to turn it up really cold to get a faster drop in temperature and then turn it off because I became cold, and then repeating the cycle got old fast. There's no central lighting, so each little 5 sq Feet had their own light switch. If you wanted to light up the room, expect yourself playing a game of find the light switch for a few minutes. They had a good iron and iron board and nice hangers for clothes and pants. Bathroom (or lack thereof): The tradeoff for having a really nice sofa is a really small bathroom. The towels were nice and soft; the shampoo sucked really bad; and the soap was okay. It wasn't the worst, but it could have been better. I had to go to Target to replace the really terrible shampoo. Gym: NO TV. Again, NO TV. There are two treadmills, one had a TV, and the other one was non-functional. They also have free weights, a bike, and an elliptical. Overall, it wasn't bad, but I wish they would stop playing Kelly Clarkson as I try to pump out 4 miles on the treadmill. Seriously, I get it. What doesn't kill me in this song will make me stronger and get through this run. They had filtered water, disposable headphones if needed and towels available for the gym members (no monthly fee). Breakfast: Included with the room is breakfast. As I mentioned how nice the lobby and dining area was at the beginning, the tradeoff is that everything is crammed. I found my colleague and I having tiny tables as we run through our agenda for the days. The food is definitely better and the presentation was definitely better than your standard 3 star hotel. However, if you're there during the morning egg rush, be prepared to find yourself at elbow length with fellow hotel stayers. Overall, the place was nice. It has a high price because of the location (close to the airport) and the name brand. You have many food options within 1 mile radius and can find yourself even at the mall to pass the time. Went to Dallas for a conference that was being held at the Hyatt Place. The Accommodations: - SUPER Comfortable and nice rooms. The sofa was as comfortable as the bed. And they even provide a soft throw for those who want to get comfy on the couch after a long day of meetings - totally appreciated! - A REAL Breakfast!! Along with the normal cereal and danishes, they stepped it up here! You walk down to the lobby where breakfast is and you see yummy egg sandwiches and pancakes being kept warm on a griddle. Fresh juices and great coffee were always refilled before you even knew it was running low. Not too shabby! :) - They give you toothpaste along with the shampoo/conditioner/lotion. - Free shuttle to the airport and within a 5 mile radius of the hotel. The Venue for the Conference: - Took care of all our needs and were accommodating to the changes we needed to make upon our arrival to the hotel. - They were great about meeting all the audio visual demands we had. And we had many. - The meeting rooms were big enough to comfortably accommodate all 60 of our attendees with regular tables and refreshment tables. Definitely amazing staff and customer service! For the most part a nice hotel. The front desk staff, many of them, are very friendly. I did have laundry done while I was here, when I was getting ready for bed that night realized it was not back in my room. No big deal, I will call down and see if they forgot to bring it up. When I called down the girl at the desk said it might be in the office. When she got back on the phone she told me, yep it is in there. Well maybe they don't bring it to your room, or call you to let you know it is back. Breakfast was good each morning I had it here. The breakfast attendant was friendly. I stayed at this hotel for two weeks on my first business trip. Let me start by saying I NEVER leave reviews for anything, but my experience at the Hyatt in Grapevine was so spectacular I couldn't not leave a review. The ladies at the front desk knew we were new to town and had no idea where to go for food, nightlife, or just to explore. Wendy was amazing at giving us great recommendations. Every place she told us to check out was always a ton of fun. She always genuinely cared the next day to follow up to make sure we were having a good time exploring Dallas. One night I lost my charger at midnight and had no access to a car to go buy another one. When I called the front desk to see if they had any, Alonso offered to take me to 7-11 to get one so I wouldn't have to go without. The supervisor, I believe her name was Daphne, was what really made the Hyatt feel like home for the two weeks. She knew us by name, our drink orders, and was always so attentive to anything we needed. While I was out there it happened to be my birthday, the entire staff signed a card for me wishing me a happy birthday and decorated my room with the cutest decorations and a mini cake. This completely blew me away and made my entire day. I can't say enough about this staff. The rooms were clean and the food and drinks were great, but what really makes this place so special is their outstanding caring staff. If you're ever lucky enough to stay here for an extended stay, they'll treat you like they've known you for years. If there was an option for Zero Stars I would use it! Large amounts of mold on an outside window and noticed behind a current after 3 nights of staying in the room. Immediately moved rooms for our remaining 2 nights. Met another family that was in our first room and did not want the room due to the musty smell, obviously the hotel did not review the issue and sent my son and I into the room a few hours later. Brought the issue up to management (Sylvia) and after 1 1/2 weeks of trying to get into with her (was not on site our entire stay supposedly) she finally returned my phone call and offered to refund our stay. After 5 weeks still have not received a refund! Called again and Sylvia is no longer there and left a message for the new Manager Jeremy. Has been 3 days and have not heard a peep! I was on another Midnight arrival and cringed when the front desk guy said "all of the rooms had been given out". I really enjoyed my stay here. We had a suite with two full sized beds, sofa with a fold out bed, and a mini fridge. There were three of us in the room so we had plenty of space. Breakfast was great. They had lots of options and new items every morning. They even had almond milk! The staff was very nice. They shuttled us to and from the airport. I did have a little trouble getting picked up because of where I was in the airport. And there was a lot of miscommunication because of staff switching shifts. I stayed here for two nights, December 4 and 5, 2019. Location was great. The free shuttle was also great going to another hotel for business meetings and also to and from the airport. It was also nice having a huge outlet mall directly across the street also. Hospitality at the hotel was also excellent. The only problem that I had with this Hyatt Place is it has not been updated for at least 10 years and it truly shows it in the rooms. I would not stay here again because of this. I work nearby and stop in once a week to eat and have a few beers vs a typical bar. Daphne is always most pleasant and does a super job preparing my food. Most days she is running around like crazy doing the desk, bar, kitchen and still is always pleasant with and smiling. As long as Daphne is there when I stop in TGI Fridays and 54th street can keep their food and drinks. I will stop in to the hotel for some beers and food to watch Daphne run the show with a SMILE! Booked this on a whim when we decided to visit our Dallas family for a day. They live in Flower Mound so Grapevine was our choice of city to stay in. Didn't wanna intrude as house guests since we had two toddlers with us plus our elderly parents so we booked two rooms here at the AAA rate (with taxes, came out about $175 per night). I requested early check in and a crib for one room. We arrived around 2 pm. They had our reservation but there was some type of computer issue that held up our check in to be longer than usual. Once we started, Chris, the gentleman checking us in, was nice and apologetic. There were two other ladies there with him, and they all seemed rather busy/frazzled (I waited a few minutes before Chris could even start my check in process). Room size is great, just like in the pictures. The sitting area is great for people with kids, especially. The one rather huge con which has been mentioned before on Trip Advisor and here is that the AC unit is LOUD. Nothing you can really do about it. When the unit kicks out, it's a loud thud and continuous whirring until it turns off. Now imagine that cycle several times throughout the night. For a light sleeper like me, it kept waking me up throughout the night. I worried it would keep our youngest toddler up, so we put her crib up front near the sitting/office area. Again, nothing you can really do about it. The room is, however,'rather dry with the heat on and my first born ended up with nosebleeds. Not really anything the hotel can control, obviously. For those parents with kids sensitive to bleeds like mine, FYI. Prob good to bring a small humidifier next time. The pro is the free breakfast. I don't know why people complain about free breakfast so much! There's so many hot and cold choices. You want gourmet food? Go pay $100 more and stay at a higher end hotel. Otherwise, just enjoy the food and the #3 Seattle's Best coffee. And if you don't like that, get out of the hotel and go to the numerous restaurants in the surrounding area. Great hotel, brand spanking new, good dinner, nice staff, and very clean, with the exception of a dirty coffee cup I ended up drinking water out of in my room. Excellent proximity to DFW which makes for a quick shuttle. The only problem was when someone opened my door at 3:00am (thank goodness for the latch- omg) and then proceeded to return again & pound on the door when they still couldn't get in. Scared the living daylights out of me and I was unable to fall asleep again. Apparently I had never been properly checked in the afternoon before. The suite rooms had a work area as well as a wet bar/living room area with a great couch and huge flat screen. It also let me down a little with some of the cleanliness issues, the a/c was SUPER loud, which ended up being nice because it was able to drown out the planes from DFW but, it could still be a bit loud for some. Staff was also ify, either it was one person who made you wait while they finished whatever they were doing or 5 trying to help you all at once. I stayed at a conference rate of $150 a night and that's probably what I would want to pay again to choose this hotel over others in the area. read more

The hotel is located near Grapevine Mills mall. There are a few other hotels right next door. There's an outdoor pool, no indoor pool and no hot tub. There's no on-site restaurant, just a kitchen you can carry out some food from. They do have free breakfast. There's a shuttle that takes you within a 5 mile radius. I attended a conference at The Gaylord Convention Center, less than 5 minute shuttle ride from the hotel. There aren't many non chain dining options near the hotel. The rooms are spacious but a bit outdated. The only toiletries in the room are soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The box unit ac is quite loud. Stayed here several times over the last few years, always happy with Hyatt Place experience. One of the few hotel chains that I can say I've never had a bad experience staying at a Hyatt Place.
