This Hyatt place has two great things going for it. First, the location is near a lot of dining options and has easy access get around Raleigh. Second, the hotel appears newer so there is plenty of light. The hotel seems chronically short staffed and this translates into waiting for basics like coffee when it runs out. However, staff were pleasant and did their best.

Definately a breakfast contender. Biscuit game strong. Waffle maker. Apple pie compote. Banana drizzle. We shall prevail. We shall live to fight another day. Thanks Hyatt. My confidence in humanity is restored. Also. There is an army of maids. Never have I seen so many maids in one location. Good on you Durham Hyatt.

Go Heels! Well that is why we were here for Football and had never stayed here before. Great location, the staff could have been a little more personable and helpful, but that aside, it was a decent stay. The rooms need to be modernized, the one we had was "Huge" by today's standards and most of it was wasted space, lights didn't work in that wasted space (kitchenette area). We would stay here again, breakfast was decent but had to wait for food to come out, so get up as soon as it starts. It's about football and place to lay your head, nothing more. This place is average

Came out on a trip to visit family and ended up choosing this hotel based on reviews, location, and pictures. Staff - People here are very nice and helpful, from assisting me with early and late check out for a small fee. Also they play a role as bartenders Rooms - Room was clean, newer furniture, pool views, good spacious feel and quiet from hallway noise. Lobby/Pool/Fitness - Lobby areas are nice but smaller than most, good size dinning area, tiny office center, small gym with pretty much only cardio machines, and the pool is nice clean, and a good size. Rates - Very competitive to similar places around here with same amenities. Parking - Not bad since they have the restaurant and supermarket parking lot too. Location - Prime in my opinion with the mall down the street, coffee, supermarket, and restaurant in the same complex. Freeway access right down the street and central to everything. Will consider staying here again on my next visit again.

This was my first time staying in a Hyatt in a long time. I have been a normal Marriott person, but they have not been maintained well during Covid. This place is nice, well maintained and new looking. It is in a great location and plenty of parking. It is close to so many things in the area that anyone staying for a weekend has plenty of close options. The rooms were nice and had a small sitting area like a suite, which is nice when travelling with friends. There were a few negatives- 1. The first room we got had a very noisy ac unit. When I went to the front desk, she said that they have been having a lot of issues with the AC units recently. So, check you ac unit out as soon as you get in so you can move rooms 2. This is a pet friendly hotel. I am very pro-pet and have two myself. However, this place was over run with dogs. We saw about 15+ that weekend. The first issue with this is- the door next to our room barked when they were alone. So the first night, before we finally went out, he barked 45+ minutes. Then the next morning he started at 8 am... and was still barking when we left. I said something to the maintenance guy and he said..."we are pet friendly here and sometimes that happens"... well when you are paying for a room for two nights... I don't really want it to happen next to me! Secondly, with covid, housekeeping doesn't come in your room hardly at all. We had no wash clothes, low on towels...so more trips to the front. Also, with all the dogs... it makes me wonder how well those dog rooms are being cleaned... hair, fleas, urine, etc... I wish they split their floors as with and without pets as an option.

Clean. Quiet. Great location down the street from the mall. Good variety of breakfast items. And I believe check out was 11am so we didn't feel rushed. Took one star because the TV was outdated. Picture was too dark and the remote was weird. Minor inconvenience but a newer TV would make this place perfect.

We actually had a really great experience at this hotel. I'm surprised for the low stars. Of course everyone's experience is different. The hotel was extremely clean. The common area, the dining area, the elevators, the outdoor area, and especially our rooms . This hotel pretty much provides everything you could want. The rooms are awesome. The air-conditioning works incredibly well. The view from my room was absolutely beautiful. I had overlooked a full display of woods and a beautiful swimming pool that was in the shape of a Guitar . Heheee seriously it was a beautiful clean pool as well . They even serve an incredibly fabulous breakfast in the morning. Complementary! Hot food and cold, many ,many choices. The grits were absolutely delicious . Lots of amazing fruit as well . The hotel is a great location with lots of things nearby. The grounds of the hotel we're perfectly manicured. Beautiful flowers and greenery everywhere. Some of the most magnificent hibiscus I've ever seen in a potted plant. The pool area was spotlessly clean. The pool itself was also very clean, lots of children were swimming and having fun. They had an outdoor shower for first rinsing before you got in the pool and when you got out. Securely fenced. With a gorgeous view overlooking the woods . I would absolutely stay here anytime. We really enjoyed it .

I enjoyed my stay overall - they give you a discount at Maggianos, Bonefish, and two other places. All within 5 minutes of the hotel. The mall is minutes up the road. Hotel A+ Breakfast A+ Staff A+ Hotel Room B-

I am giving one star strictly for the truly HORRIBLE breakfast experience over the past 2 days. The coffee is absolutely the worst we've ever tasted, like watered down old coffee grounds. Today it was out very often with 10 people waiting. My husband couldn't deal with it and went across the street to buy coffee for himself, me and my mother. The first day there was no decaf, and I can't drink much caffeine. The 2nd morning, there was decaf in a small container and it was cold. There is no creamer substitute like coffee mate if you can't have milk. There was something that looked like yogurt, but was not labeled. Had no idea if it was low-fat, sugar-free, plain or flavored. Or if it was sour cream. The fruit salad tasted very very off, a bit soured like they'd combined old salad and new salad, and the melon was unripe. The bananas. Oh my word. Where did they find these bananas? The garbage bins were overflowing. But the worst was the horrific temperature. It was a constant 78 degrees over 2 days. I asked for the air conditioning and nearly 45 minutes later, it was still 78 degrees. My whole family was sweating. The kitchen people said it was MUCH worse in their area. The management should be reprimanded for treating people this way. I could almost deal if even the coffee had been plentiful and remotely drinkable. I'm here for 3 more days. Wish me luck.

Nice to see a menu for food when we return and kids get hungry!!

There is purple furniture throughout with candles lit at each table, and soft seats near the courtyard entrance. We had an obscure and tasteful Black Sabbath song playing, which we learned was playing on vinyl from the record player on the back wall. The mixologist, Doug, who's just all sorts of awesome, later physically swapped out the record for a Beach Boys LP that had literally zero Beach Boys songs that I'd ever heard. It was rad. The cocktails were phenomenal, aromatic, and balanced. The menu has them split out into "Originals" (cocktails they invented), "Covers" (cocktails, that other famous bartenders invented), and "Remixes" (Little Gem's spin on existing cocktails). The music theme was on point. We also ordered some marinated feta and white bean dip that came from Beau's Catering (in the same courtyard), where Paul Finn (the owner of Little Gem) is the Beverage Director. I highly recommend the dip, it blew our minds. Do yourself a favor and go check out Little Gem. Maybe a mini date night or pop in while you're waiting for your order from The Pig or your kids are getting ice cream next door. And while you're there, take a moment to appreciate the music playing straight from the record player. It's such a vibe.

We hung out at "The Loft" bar and lounge on the 3rd floor which I believe is 25-and-up only. The Loft is like a covered rooftop patio with outside views on three sides, none of which face Franklin St directly, unfortunately. But still, it's a cool, sleek spot with a nice-looking bar, white couches, and high-tops. We stayed up in The Loft and never went downstairs where, presumably, the main club and dance floor are located. As we drove down Franklin St to get here, after 11pm on a Saturday night, we saw a line of what looked like undergrad-aged kids waiting to get in. So, I'm not sure what the atmosphere was like downstairs, but things were very "mature," chill, and relaxed upstairs. I didn't feel like I was on Franklin Street in downtown Chapel Hill. We parked for free in the James Wallace Parking Deck, accessible behind Still Life via E Rosemary St. The deck is next to "Amber Alley," which connects the back side of the buildings to Franklin St. On the deck side of the alley, our big group (who had a connection and called ahead) literally got red carpet treatment. Our IDs were checked and we were given wristbands to access The Loft. We took the glass elevator up and down and there were stairs too. Parking in the Wallace Deck was free because we parked outside the hours of operation: 8am-8pm, Monday-Saturday except holidays. According to Still Life Chapel Hill's Instagram page, their rooftop-only soft opening was July 8 and their entire-venue grand opening is two weeks from today on Friday, August 19th: https://www.instagram.com/stilllifeunc/. Currently, there is another Still Life location in Greenville (NC): https://www.yelp.com/biz/still-life-greenville-6. And there used to be a Still Life in Raleigh: https://www.yelp.com/biz/still-life-nightclub-raleigh. I believe this space used to be The Strowd (https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-strowd-chapel-hill) and before that, the Players club (https://www.yelp.com/biz/players-chapel-hill). When my friends were undergrads at UNC, they came to Players. Yep, we're old. Anyway, we had a good time at Still Life and I think this is a club worth checking out. Also, the bartenders were nice and the espresso martini I tried was good. Well made, and nice and strong.
