I stayed here on a stop between the Bay Area and Phoenix. It is the perfect midway stop. This is a comfortable, clean, and hospitable hotel. There is nothing luxurious about this hotel, but if all you need is a nice comfortable place to stay this is it. Other benefits is that there is complementary breakfast, which is average, as well as a gym and a pool. The hotel is walking distance to the Glendale Galleria and The Shops At The Americana for shopping and dining. Some negatives, $45 valet parking, our specific room had motorized shades which did not work and an AC with a slight hum. These are minor annoyances for an overall winning hotel. I will stay here again on a trip between Arizona and The Bay Area. read more

This is the second time staying at this property for a short staycation. As many reviewers have pointed out, the location is very convenient. We walked to the Glendale Galleria after checking in, then walked to Raffi's Mediterranean restaurant nearby for dinner. This morning we walked to Porto's Bakery, an LA icon, for their delectable baked goods. The room is spacious and modern, good selection of free channels, and nice walk-in shower. We could hear some street noise even though we were on the highest floor, and also some noise in the hall day at night and in the morning. Other than that, very pleasant stay. read more

I like this hotel alot, it felt like home! All the staffs are really nice and its very clean. My room was spotless, didn't feel dusty at all. It's walking distance to the mall and alot of restaurants are close by. They have a partial indoor heated pool and a small gym. The free breakfast they have in the morning is a plus, its not that bad, its ok. They have a hot bar, cold bar (mostly fruit and yogurt) and bread section. Overall I'm satisfied with my stay and will definitely come back. Oh, they don't have self parking, its valet only! Think its like $38-48. I always stay in this Hyatt whenever i visit the Los Angeles. This time me and my partner came for Universal Studios, i really like the location where its just outside of LA but close enough to it. My stay for the weekend was great! The room was clean and i did not have any complaints. My only suggestion is perhaps the TV could be bigger compared to other hotels, but its minor. The front desk was super nice on checkin. No issues there. The free breakfast is great addition. The con and my only main con is the parking. There is only valet parking. It seems like a cashgrab sometimes as it's super expensive at 38-48 a night depending on how busy they are. This can add up quick depending on how many nights you stay. I recommend the orange street parking garage a block away if you are looking to save some money. Overall great hotel to stay at, other than the parking situation. read more

Our stay at Hyatt Place Glendale was awesome. Location is close to restaurants and shops. The hotel is 20 minutes away from Universal Studios, which is why we stayed there. The room was clean with nice decor. Dustin was a friendly and very helpful first contact person in the valet department. I liked the texting system to get your car. The pool was kind of small, but my kids still had a good time. You have to pay extra for the breakfast and valet is pricey. Your other parking option is a shady parking lot behind the hotel. I park frequently at the nearby garage where they park the cars and they are always speeding and cutting corners with GUESTS VEHICLES. Stayed here over Thanksgiving and was very pleased - primarily w the staff. Everyone from the valet to the front desk was so friendly and helpful. No location is also fabulous - literally a block from the galleria mall and the Americana. So many great restaurants in walking distance. My only tip is the parking - they don't mention anything but valet parking on the website, but there is actually a structure to the right and behind that has some sort of agreement with the hotel because you do get a discount if you are a hotel guest. It's $31 per night versus the $50 for valet. read more

Our stay here was, in a word, fantastic! Some of the highlights: - Parking: we chose the hotel's Valet Parking. It cost about the same as self-parking in a nearby garage but probably quicker and safer. The staff were on top of their game as far as customer service; you went online to request your car /pay for the service. - The Gym: cozy. They had a wall switch to control the volume of the piped-in music, and disposable headphones to go with the Pelatron machine that offered free membership! - Pool! Small. But heated (it felt like it anyway) with an open roof plan. It opened at 6am; I was there, and I felt like an 80's commercial for cologne, like the world was just waking up and I was the only one awake, (if that makes any sense!). - Rooms: we had the two queens, one pull-out sofa, and one bathroom. Beds were amazingly comfortable. Small fridge, microwaves were available upon request; first come, first served. We asked for ours early. - Breakfast: it was all in the presentation! The food was decent as well. - Pet Friendly: they had a place for dogs but not sure if it was for service dogs or not. - Location: a decent area of downtown, lots of restaurants and stores within walking distance. We had a very pleasant stay here last weekend, we were in LA visiting family for a graduation. It always has been our place of choice for us due to its proximity to the Americana Mall (short walk) there is also a CVS right across the street that's open until 12am for anything you need. Aside from a spacious and clean room, they provided enough towels and we had no issues with water pressure even though our room was on the 10th floor. Their staff are very nice and welcoming. We only stayed 2 nights but we didn't encounter any issues. Special thanks to Denise at the front desk for a very smooth check out despite being there at the desk early for an early check out she was very accommodating and has a smile on her face at 7am on a Monday. Breakfast has good options and we like how they present the breakfast plates and the coffee and tea station are in a different section. Compared to other hotels our first morning that we were there to have breakfast it was 30 minutes to close but they still have plenty of food left, they are very prompt on filling up the food making sure that everybody has something to grab. The only con at this place would be parking, which is probably always a problem to any other hotel in LA. Valet would cost you 38$ a night. So, we just tried our luck and look for a place to park on the streets nearby for a short walk for 0$ with a bit of exercise. We would love to be back again and make this our second home base since we have family close by. read more

Located in downtown Glendale, this hotel is close to many restaurants, the Hollywood sign, Universal Studios Hollywood, Galleria mall, Griffith Park, and Griffith Observatory. Despite the busy location, the room was pretty quiet from street noise. The hotel must have installed good insulation for its walls and windows. Breakfast is included and has a pretty good selection compared to other Hyatt Place locations. Their sourdough toast is very good. They even have freeze dried strawberries and dried papaya for yogurt and oatmeal toppings, which I have never seen at any other location. 1 star off: Parking is a huge pain! Valet parking is $50 per night. Self-parking in a nearby city garage charges $4.75 for 2 hours, $8 for 10 hours, $32 for overnight, and $47 for 24 hours. The sketchy part of parking in that garage is the "parking attendants." Several signs say "Do not pay the parking attendants." What are these "parking attendants" doing in a self-park garage? We stayed during a holiday weekend, so street parking was free for the majority of our stay -- the staff would not tell us this. Most streets around there have metered parking until midnight, with 2 hour max per block. Helpful tip: We found unmetered street parking on Wilson Ave. past Central Ave. without restrictions after 6PM. I saw two sketchy people there, which is still less than the number of "parking attendants" in the nearby garage! read more

Seems like a very popular Hyatt Place. Saw many people in the lobby with multiple luggages throughout my stay and my request for early check-in through the World of Hyatt app was declined upon arrival because all of the rooms were booked from the previous night (I checked in on a Saturday). I'd say it's one of the better Hyatt Places that I've stayed at. The bed in particular was actually remarkably really comfy lol though I didn't appreciate the wrinkly look of the bedsheet cover. Clean room. Pretty good sound-proofing; didn't hear any stomping or neighboring voices. Big plus for me was the ease of self-parking; plentiful amount of spaces in the garage that's adjacent to the hotel (unlike the garage for Hyatt Place Pasadena where finding a spot is dicey especially after midnight). The garage has no official affiliation with the hotel though so you have to pay for parking separately (and make sure you pay as I've seen a parking attendant circle the garage on foot lol). Hotel valet parking is another option. Overall no major complaints and recommend especially if you're a World of Hyatt member and need a no-fuss place to stay in LA county. read more

Went to a Lakers game in Downtown LA and picked this mid-point to drive to Burbank the next day. Crypto Arena is 12 miles from this hotel - took 30+ mins in traffic. Hotel is walking distance to Americana and Glendale Galleria so lots of good eats around. Didn't valet (driveway is so tight and slow valet anyway), parked in the city parking structure behind the hotel. This is typical/ standard Hyatt Place with a king + sofabed + hot breakfast. Clean and spacious room and strong water pressure. Frustrating to see only 1 person manning the front desk around rush hour check out time 11-12nn. It only takes 1 family with lots of questions for the front desk and slow valet to clog the lobby.... It's an OK use of points for a Saturday night . read more

As a Discoverist, I was so happy to check in early after such a long flight and was even more impressed that everyone at check in was very pleasant and kind. Stayed here for a couple nights while visiting Super Nintendo World since I got a pretty nice deal on Hotwire. Staying here was an easy uber ride to and from the park, and we didn't have to deal with the hassle of parking. Hotel was a great location in downtown Glendale. Lots of stuff to walk to, and there were a couple restaurants super close if you barely want to walk at all. Easy uber from Burbank airport, too. Breakfast is always great at Hyatt Places. We were able to grab some food to go for the park, which was nice. I wish they still had sandwiches, but they didn't seem to when we were there. They had fancy cucumber water out all day, and they had a pretty impressive bar if you like to drink. Bed was comfy and the room had a decent sized fridge. The shower was just okay and the room itself had some cooling issues, but it was relatively minor. No noise issues to speak of, and I'm a pretty light sleeper. Plenty of outlets and modern conveniences in the bedroom. They have a VERY spacious lobby if you need it. read more

During our stay in Los Angeles, we spent three nights at Hyatt Place in Glendale, which was a good destination for all the places we wanted to visit. While we had initially intended to stay in Pasadena closer to the Rose Bowl, where we had a music festival to attend, we ended up finding a better deal at the Hyatt in Glendale that wasn't too bad of a drive when we did go. Our room had good accommodations, including a king-sized bed, wardrobe closet and dresser, and partition, where we had a separate seating area. The bed was comfortable, and we had a good night's sleep during our time there. We were within walking distance of some bars and a local Orange Theory gym. The breakfast buffet was ok. The buffet ensured we had food in our stomachs before we set off for our days of sightseeing. While there is a bar area, there wasn't a bartender on-site regularly serving. We may have stopped there for a drink once when we stayed there. It was ok. The valet was decent. We normally had our rental car within a few minutes, sometimes 10 minutes, based on how many people were waiting for their cars. But overall, it was a solid experience. read more

The Hyatt Place is in close proximity to the Americana and the Galleria shopping centers. The CVS is kitty corner to the hotel in case you forgot to bring a toiletry item and opened until midnight. Close proximity to the 134 freeway. Breakfast is complimentary but the eggs are crumbly and the waffle was dry (I prefer to make my own waffle). We slept through breakfast on our last day. But for free, it was good to get coffee, fruit or something in your system. Pool and gym are on the 2nd floor and accessible by room key. I did use the gym and even though it was small, there were three of us in there doing our thing. Rooms are clean and laid out well with a separate seating area. I liked how the restroom was ergonomically laid out. The vanity was deep so I could store my personal items on the counter and underneath the counter. For a small space, it was planned out well. Why I gave it a 4: If you're a Hyatt member, you get more perks. I'm a Hyatt member but on the low rung of the totem pole. When I asked the concierge about it, the gal was kind of snipp and that determined my rating that I'm just okay, not exceptional as in stay at a lot of Hyatts. Housekeeping is not every day, only on select days. If you are a special member, you can pick your day. Since it was two days since our room was cleaned, I got to get my room cleaned (lucky me). I did have to make a special request for additional towels before Housekeeping day. The other thing that turned me off was only special tiered members got a free bottle of water (not me). Luckily I brought my own. Parking is either self park or valet for $38. We chose self park since the parking garage is the same place where valet is located. Plus we got to our car faster than the people who did valet. Despite some of my knocks, I would stay here again if the price was competitive with the other hotels. We really like the Glendale area so that's not going to deter us, but service and price will. read more

Being a World of Hyatt "Explorist" I usually try and stay at a Hyatt whenever I go on a staycation or I need to setup a quick and easy home-away-from-home. This time, I was visiting the Hollywood area and decided to try this Hyatt Place in Glendale. I've been to a handful of Hyatt Place/House locations mostly in the Bay Area. Most of my experiences are in the three start range because there really isn't anything exceptional about those locations and the services they provide. I really just go back because it's close to where I need to be when visiting. Naturally, I was assuming that this Hyatt Place would be about the same as the other locations since Hyatt is such a big chain. Boy was I wrong! The customer service of every single employee I encountered from the front desk ti housekeeping was absolutely top notch. Friendly communication, immediate assistance, and genuine compassion was what the staff were all about. Our room was clean as well as the pretty much the entire hotel inside and out. As an added bonus, the Galleria is only two blocks away. Next time I'm in the area, I know where to stay. read more

Came to town and wanted to stay out of West Hollywood where I usually stay so I found this spot in Glendale. Everyone was so nice from the front desk to valet staff. Jorge took care of me on my stay and made sure I had the room type and floor that I wanted. I would definitely stay here again. The rooms were nice sized, the lobby had breakfast served every morning, There was a microwave and snack bar downstair that you also had access to. I was there for 3 nights. Hotel seems ok overall, rooms are spacious. I was told that pool is heated but It was extremely cold and I am used to swim in cold pools but this wasn't heated at all. Gym equipment is old and many buttons on trademill doesnt work. Also condition of yoga mat is absurd. No daily cleaning, Have to request. The another way to use covid as a excuse to cut services. I paid $200 a night during Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday night which is very overpriced for business days... The most disappointed part was breakfast. Why they think cereal, muffins, dognuts, overloaded sugar yogurts its a good breakfast? Only 3 plates with bacon, scrambled egg and potatoes that didn't changed for 3 days.... No good healthy hot food options. I dont eat carbs for breakfast and sweet stuff what about people that care about their health?! Why there is no sliced tomatoes, cheese, veggies and omeletes like in many other hotels. Scrambled egg is worse thing that I ever tasted. This sausages looked so depressing like a dog poop. Seriously its not even appealing to eat. Do they see notice how food look? Or they think it doesnt matter...? They sell quiche and avocado toast for $5-7 each. Seriously? My $200 per night rate doesnt include cleaning nor can provide water in the room nor can provide good breakfast. I have to buy $7 avocado sandwich separately. Rooms itself were ok but I has issue with sewage smell in my bathroom from the water.... I wasn't in hotel most of my stay there but these things were noticeable. i usually despise the Hyatt no matter what location. THIS one takes the cake though with the only valet guy on duty literally REFUSING to do his job. They use this weird app service to request your car and the link they'd sent me didn't work, i proceeded to then wait 30+ mins on some sort of confirmation that my car was ready or in queue and when i asked for a bellhop because i just had a procedure and cannot be pushing or carrying heavy things - they just dropped a car at my hotel room door. AVOID and don't waste your time or $$$. Beautiful modern hotel in good location with BIG OPERATIONS PROBLEMS. First - no parking lot. Who permitted a hotel to be built with no parking lot. And if valet (NYC rates of $46/night!!!) is mandatory, who designed a single lane entry so that cars can't pass? And why are more valets not employed? My vehicle took 25 minute to arrive at 9am on a Saturday. Inexcusable. Second - breaking health codes by maintaining icy cold "hot food" at breakfast. Fake eggs, turkey bacon, potatoes might be edible if they weren't crawling with bacteria at about 50-degrees. They don't own electric hot plates - it's more like wishful thinking with a little candle under a massive tray of tiny cold waffles. Really disgusting. It's a shame because this could be a great local hotel with competent management and operations. If you don't have a car and don't want to eat here, then it's great! read more

Very nice Hyatt Place centrally located in Glendale. The hotel is spacious and features an outdoor pool on the second floor. Our room was neat and clean and has new furniture. The view is outstanding and the Glendale Galleria Mall is one block away. On check in we were helped by Jazlyn. Although we arrived early she found us a great room. Jazlyn was efficient, welcoming and cheerful. It is great Hyatt professionals like Jazlyn that convince me that Hyatt Globalist status is well worth it. Decent location away from the hustle & bustle. My family and I had a concert to go to at the Banc of California and we opted for the Hyatt Place that was about 20 minutes away (on a good day!). Check in was a breeze. My cousin let them know ahead of time that we'd be a late check in. The room itself was spacious and clean. Bathroom was a good size, although, it looked like the plumbing for the toilet was leaking so we left a towel there to absorb it. The elevators comes down quick to the first floor, but taking an elevator from our 6th floor down took forever. We opted to use the stairs. Things to note: -Weekend breakfast is until 10am PT and can switch off between waffles & pancakes, bacon & sausages -Pool / Gym is on the 2nd floor -Parking is $25 per night and valet only. It's managed by another company Overall, not a bad stay. I do wish the drive thru was wider than it was. If the car in front isn't ready yet then you'll be stuck behind them for a good while. read more

I've been to many Hyatt Places and the layouts and amenities are all very similar. The Glendale location though is in a very convenient location with upscale shopping less than a 10 minute walk away. We walked to the Americana at 9pm and back to the hotel at 10pm with young kids and we felt very safe. During the Holiday weekend they also had a hot chocolate / coffee station out all day and night in the lobby. This was such a nice touch and the whole family enjoyed our stay. read more

We were just here last year and it was a different experience. Maybe we got unlucky? Late check in was pleasant with the front desk concierge. However by the time we got easy for bed we noticed stains on the couch and carpets, AC was not really functioning (air doesn't feel like it's circulating), fridge smelled like vomit, toilet was not cleaned, our phone did not work when I tried to call them to let them know. Physically went down to let them know and we were so tired we tried to sleep the 5 hours before we had to get up again. He did offer room exchange but we were exhausted and he said the AM staff will assist. In the AM the front desk seemed unaware of our issues but said room will be ready at noon. Why did he offer a room change if no rooms were ready till noon today? Anyways. We loved staying at Hyatts. Really disappointed. read more

I attended a seminar at the Alex theater today and have been staying at the Hyatt in Glendale. I am absolutely pleased with the services provided here. All the staff are so friendly and kind and give amazing service. I also wanted to acknowledge Dustin in the valet who was very attentive, informative, and very helpful when I valeted my car. The rooms were really clean and there is a lot of restaurants around in walking distance from the hotel. This experience deserves 5 stars and if in town I will be back! read more
