Ace is a great place for me, and I always come here before Thanksgiving each year. Why? One word: Resharp. Resharp is an automated machine that puts an amazing edge on virtually any knife - far better than I can do with any of the stones and tools I've accluminated over the years. The service is while-you-wait fast and really inexpensive ($6.99 with a buy 5/get 1 free deal). And while the staff works on my blades I can wander around and find all the many things I completely forgot I needed. (I love hardware stores; my Spousal Unit not so much). Resharp works on almost all non-serrated knives less than 12" long, regardless of how badly beaten up the edge. Great value, great service, yet another reason to avoid going to Lowe's Depot...

The floor manufacturer recommended a chemical that is usually found in hardware stores so I asked the employee for it and some rags. He was very kind and went over how to use the product so it doesn't damage my floor. He even walked me over to someone who he felt was more knowledgable about the subject and ran my situation by her. It felt like this was a store full of employees that actually enjoy what they do and as a result, are experts in their field. Safe to say, I was able to return home and get that stain out without damaging the floor or my hands. I've gone back a few times to pick up small things here and there but I have been sold since my first visit.

During all of my visits, I was able to find what I was looking for or something very similar to the items that I needed. In general, I think the prices are pretty similar or a bit lower compared to those in other places. Unfortunately, parking is a bit of a mess, primarily because two of the three entrances for vehicles are located right next to two VERY busy intersections. For one entrance/exit, it's virtually impossible to make a left turn leaving the shopping center, and you can make only right turns for another exit. However, I will not necessarily fault Strosniders for this because these horrible parking situations seem to be pretty standard in this area. It's as if developers throw a million and three stores in a shopping complex without any regard to the parking situation or traffic patterns. Also (as of Jan 2026), the store is dog-friendly.

The store is huge (the largest Ace in MD) and the staff went above and beyond to help me out. I showed up in the middle of a rain storm without an umbrella to buy a pile of power tools. Rather than call me out for my poor planning. The staff very generously helped me figure out a way to get my new purchases to my car without getting them wet. This may sound minor, but when was the last time someone at a store went out of their way like this. I didn't even have to ask. Seriously can't say enough positive stuff about the team here.

We only started shopping here due to the Apple Card special. Kinda just took a big slap towards Apple Card tap to pay. We don't do gas stations that require card because of the risk of card readers. And it's just a sign of higher fraud in our book. Unfortunate, we used to love coming here, even with the more limited and older selection. Please fix, or we're not likely to drive the extra mile past Lowe's or Home Depot.
