This review is for employee Nancy that was working the Service Desk on Oct. 18, 2022 in the evening. I called the regular number to check on an order and the recording stated my order had arrived and was ready for pickup. I called the customer service desk to confirm it had indeed arrived. Nancy answered the phone and confirmed the order was there according to the computer, but to be sure she asked me if I minded holding on so that she could check the receiving area to be sure. She came back on the line and confirmed it was there. When I arrived to the Service Desk a few minutes later, I was greeted by Nancy. She asked me to wait a second while she gathered my four windows from the back. I commend Nancy for her outstanding customer service skills, so polite and professional. The cashier at the store in Frederick, MD on Mcain Dr deserves a raise, her name was Heather (White lady w/black hair). My husband and I purchased tons of items for remodeling our new home and there were a few issues with the checkout machines. My husband and I are on the same credit card and I scanned some items while he scanned others. He checked out before me and my card declined. My husband was furious since we were there for so long and so many employees didn't know where items were and we were passed on from person to person who still didn't know (hence just the four stars). Turns out our credit card thought the card was being used fraudulently. She offered to apply me for a Home Depot card to check out my items, which I did. She had to rescan everything and although my husband was being rude, it didn't faze her not one bit. She was so focused (and fast) on getting our transition done that I was super impressed. I experienced the best customer service at a Home Depot ever this go around! read more

I have shopped here for several years and have always had good service. I brought my weed trimmer up there because it was not working right, and I wanted to see if someone could tell me if it was worth fixing, or if I should buy a new one. They took a look at it, and determined the motor went bad and recommended buying an Ego trimmer. I followed their advice and bought it. I took it home and was able to assemble it, except for the handle. After 45 minutes of frustration, I took it back to the store to ask for help. Christopher, at the tool rental section was wonderful, very patient and willing to help me attach it. Unfortunately for him, in the process of helping me, he must have turned the wrong way and gave himself a severe back spasm. Even with all that, he continued to help me until we got the handle securely fastened. Every time I have gone there, the employees are always willing to help and answer questions, and often take me right to the area of the store that has whatever I am looking for. On the few occasions where the employee I stopped didn't know the answer to my questions, they went and found someone who could answer them. read more

No hate to the Penske company, but I went here recently to pickup my Penske rental and the workers were absolute fools. They acted like they had no clue what I was talking about when I gave them my reservation number, and it ultimately ended with me having to call Penske corporate and have them call Home Depot to sort it out. Was in there for nearly two hours waiting for my truck. This isn't a review for the rest of the store, but as for the Penske rentals, go somewhere else or snag a Uhaul instead. These workers (not all of them), need to be retrained on customer service and the system in which they work with Penske through as they were clueless to the whole process. Good luck! read more

I called twice to check on inventory on a tree. The first time someone in the garden center picked up and instantly hung up the phone which promptly ended my 15 minute wait. I patiently called back and had customer service transfer me again maybe thinking it was a mistake. The reprehensive in the garden center again picked up and before i got to ask my question said "im with a customer" and promptly hung up on me again. Not good customer service at all. read more

Im a professional contractor here in Maryland and take pride as a worker and deeply care about the services as that I receive as a customer, However the time I came here today was not very great. I've been here many times as a customer and thought that the services I received today made me upset, I returned a product that i bought for about $31 and decided to return the item because I never found use for the item and recived store credit and i thought this transaction went smoothly but however when i decided to buy another item with the store credit that the employee gave me but for some reason the card did not go through and said "no card found" i thought this was strange they told me the only thing they could do was to give them the receipt and i asked them "why would i need to do that? i trusted you guys that the transaction went smoothly!"i never had experienced something like this before and could not buy the item that i wanted to purchase so i canceled the purchase, I was so confused i decided to test out this card again and bought a pack of gum and tried it out on the self checkout and same thing happened when i scanned the card "no card found" and put the pack of gum back on the side of the machine and went out of the store in anger. an employee at the center of the group of the machines called me and accused me of stealing the pack of gum already confused, frustrated, and angry told the employee where the item was located at ( the side of the machine ) and came out of the store even more angry. Today i just can't believed that Home Depot had scammed me and their employees had also accused me of stealing. I tried to complain at the returns dept. but they told me to show them the receipt of the transaction , well I didn't know i was suppose to keep it if i use my store credit to purchase something. So i told the guy " does this means Home Depot just stole $31 from me ?" And he replied " I guess ". I trusted Home Depot that they return back my money when i return the item , i guess i made a mistake. So for those of you returning something in the form of store credit , you need to verify the card right after they hand it to you , it could be empty and no value at all. read more

Our refrigerator died on the eve of Memorial Day weekend. When visiting the store Perry was extraordinarily helpful. It was shocking to realize there is an appliance shortage due to the pandemic! While we couldn't replace our fridge Perry's willingness to look up endless options and even help carry out our temporary solution was amazing. Kind, empathetic and helpful. read more

Three weeks ago my husband & I went to the Home Depot on McCain drive needing a new hybrid water heater. The nice gentleman at the plumbing desk took our info and said that the installer would be contacting us within 24 hours to schedule the installation. Two weeks, and several messages to the the installer later, we still had not heard back from them. We decided to just purchase the heater online and have a plumber do the install. My husband ordered it and paid extra for a specific delivery day. They call us on the day of delivery to inform us that they did not have the truck to bring it out and they rescheduled it for 3 days later, a time that we would not be home. The would not let us request a delivery time because we had paid extra for a specific day but not time. I explained that, had we known that HD was going to reschedule from a day we would be home to a day we would not then we would have chosen a specific time. They were not helpful and we had to do some serious schedule juggling to have someone home for delivery. Two days later, the plumber comes to do the installation and upon unpacking the box we found the the top of the heater was bashed in on one side as if someone had dropped it!! The plumber could not install it!! We ended up having the plumber install one they had on the truck which was not a hybrid like we had wanted. However, at this point we had been without hot water for 2 & 1/2 weeks. I called to return the item and was told we needed to take it back to the store!! They delivered a damaged water heater but expected us to physically take it back to the store! I ended up speaking with a manager, Tina, who was the most helpful person we dealt with during this entire ordeal. She has arranged to have it picked up for us. After this experience we have decided that we will NEVER do business with Home Depot again!!! I can't believe they chance their reputation by contracting with installers that don't get back to customers! BTW-the installers have terrible Yelp reviews and, to this date, have not called us! read more

I've been here so many times in the past few months that I might as well have my own staff apron. The paint department has it on lock, being extremely helpful in every paint project I've undertaken. And during my last project building an entire wooden shed by myself, a staff member in the lumber department spent over an hour at least just with me, picking out every single board, types of nails, and even shingles for my project plan. I was here on Saturday to pick up a few things, but spent hours in the store - due to no fault of the store. First, my daughter managed to get a very large fiberglass splinter in her finger. The staff was extremely helpful at finding us a first aid kit, removing the splinter and getting bandaged up. They were amused by her re-telling her tale of how she managed to get the splinter and laughed along with her. Minutes after, I realized that my keys were missing, I had mistakenly left them in a cart. Numerous staff helped us search high and low to find the keys. I am so thankful for the friendly, helpful staff - it could have been a disastrous day without them. read more
