Excellent little tailor with a store front full of cute items. I went for the sole purpose of having my daughter's dress altered for a wedding. It needed to be taken in in the bust and also hemmed shorter. items can be dropped off by walk-in only with a two week turnaround time. I told her no rush as I did not need it until September And it was still done in roughly 2 weeks. My only complaint is that it seemed a little pricey as I paid $100. Y'all do not sleep on this local boutique because they are full service! Alterations, dry cleaning, but also the cutest clothes! I've gone to get pants hemmed and the turnaround time was quick and the price was comparable to places in the area. I needed to get a dress altered and with quite a few options out there I needed to be sure I chose the right person for the job since the dress was for a wedding I was standing up in of a close friend. After reading countless reviews I reached out to Hyde park through the yelp app and received an answer the same day letting me know I could stop in anytime & my requested date wouldn't be an issue, even without seeing the dress! Great sign to start. Taking the dress in was efficient, with me using the cute dressing room and then explaining what I was looking for. The woman knew exactly what to do although I forgot to ask how much it would cost in total, I was pleasantly surprised it was far less than what I was expecting! The dress now fits much better and was even ready for pickup in half the time I had requested. Overall, all of my expectations were exceeded so Hyde park is a place I'd definitely recommend and will be returning to in the future! read more

I was looking for a tailor closer to my house and decided to give Hyde Park a try after finding them on Yelp. I needed to get a pair of jeans altered and a zipper replaced on a coat. They told me up front that my coat would need to be sent out and they gave me a price range for the repair. They called me when my jeans were ready for pick up, and when I arrived, they said the coat had just come back, as well! So I had both items back in half the time that I expected. The process was efficient, I was happy with the prices I paid, the young woman who took care of me was friendly and helpful, and the work that was completed was exceptional! Sydney is a blessing: I had been putting off some alterations for months to years until wedding season came around and she has been wonderful (and efficient) at tailoring some guest dresses and jumpsuits I've had sitting around forever. As somebody who has a vague idea of the changes I needed but no sewing or alteration experience, I felt incredibly comfortable leaving my self (and my outfits!) in Sydney's hands, and so far have picked up items that are better than what I could have asked for. read more

Wonderful job shortening the hem and sleeves of a dress that was my mother's in a very timely manner so I could wear it to an event. There are also very cute items for sale in the shop: boutiquey clothing, jewelry, bags and adorable baby clothes. I am extremely pleased with the services Sydney provides at her shop. My first experience with Hyde Park MKE was with a couple of sportscoats & pants for alterations. Not knowing what the results would be, the finished items were exceptional. She follows instructions to the T and there was nothing I could find fault with (and I am one of those people that know what I want and can be picky about it, too) her work. If there was any reason for my not going back after my first dealing, I wouldn't have. My next visit to see Sydney was for some unique (at least I thought they were unique) requests, and she knew exactly what I was speaking of, and I didn't have to reiterate my wishes. After picking up my items, there was no doubt in my mind that I found the perfect tailor! Her rates are very reasonable, given the exceptional workmanship she provides. The turnaround time quite prompt and she is very friendly. Everything else (hours, location, parking) is very nice along with a great little clothing/gift shop. Last month, I needed to get a new suit for an event at last minute. I bought a suit off the rack at Boston store. When I called them on the phone, the gentleman at Hyde Park Tailors promised me a quick three day turn-a-round to tailor the jacket sleeves and the pant cuffs. The owner, Sydney, is a such a sweet and kind person and she has the BEST taste when it comes to curating a collection of adorable clothes and household items to fit many different tastes and styles. I just moved here so I didn't have a cleaners/tailor here. But I do now! An older man works this place alone I believe. He is super nice and lively for his age. It's a small discreet little shop that reminds me of stores in the 1940/50s. They still have a cash register that is from that era. It's very old-fashioned and old inside, but I just had to drop two pairs of jeans for hemming. I got them hemmed for $12 each, which is a little more than what I paid back in california, but not tripping over a couple bucks. I got the jeans back the next week. I brought them home and thought they were still a little long. My fault on that however, I gave him the wrong measurements I think. So I brought them back and the kind gentleman was able to fix them for me in a couple days for FREE!...It was my fault and he was able re-hem my jeans free of charge. That was amazing and that's GREAT service there! I don't know if it's the small-town thing...or if he was just plain nice...but who cares :) I would definitely come for my basic needs, I am not sure about the tailoring for things like suits and dresses. I went in with a jacket that had a broken zipper slider. I tried to explain to the young woman working what the problem was, but before I could finish she cut me off and explained that I needed to go to a fabric store to buy a new zipper of the correct size (that I needed to find out myself) and return with the zipper so that they could replace it for $25. A quick Internet search revealed that all I needed to do was buy a zipper slider for $3 and slide it right back on to the top. I was regarded with no respect and was very misinformed by the employee. read more
